Firebirds Wood Fired Grill - Carmel

Went at lunch time on 2 separate days. There was no wait and the entire staff was very attentive. The hot wings were just spicy enough, the fries were crispy and the perfect portion. The chicken tortilla soup had a flavorful salsa on top that gave it a nice little kick. My friends had the naked wings because they didn’t want the spicy sauce, which were still good, and the ribs were really really good (judging from the finger licking)! My daughter high jacked my salad so I’ll get that next time but she said she really liked it overall and the shrimp was seasoned well. The key lime pie could use a little more lime but it was still good. I really like this restaurant because it’s casual but you feel so elegant when you walk in, the booths are so roomy and comfortable, the tables aren’t so close that you’re hearing other conversations. Can’t wait to go back again!

We were staying at the hotel nearby and needed an easy to get to dinner. Isaac was out waiter and he was amazing. So sweet and attentive and absolutely adorable. He was a newer waiter but was working so hard. The food was just stunning, great presentation and amazing flavors.

We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and we were so happy to do so. I had the NY strip steak which was amazing, medium rare to perfection. My dad had the salmon, which also looked amazing, and my sister had the shrimp strawberry salad, which she said was delicious. Lily was a very attentive server and took great care of us, brought us a slice of birthday cake and a little bowl of ice cream for my sister. We also appreciated Jimmy' service. The Riesling was delicious and I highly recommend it. We will be back soon. Thank you!

First time experiencer here, and I must say, I enjoyed every bit of myself. Food came out fast, the meal was quite tasty, and the service was actually my favorite part. Shout to out Brooke for being an exceptional server. She was quite personable, knowledgeable about the restaurant and gave good incite on any questions about the menu. That drink suggestion hit home. I'll be back, and I need her to serve me. 😁 S/N Philly cheese steak appetizer was quite good. 😋

I love coming here for the tomahawk pork chops! My absolute favorite! The service and atmosphere is great for a date, night with friends, and/or family dinner!

We had a great time. Menu had just the right number of option for adults and kids. The food came out incredibly fast. It was fresh and prepared expertly. I got the kickin chicken. It was a relatively standard Nashville hot chicken sandwich with sweet pickles and coleslaw. We also had the chicken. Tortilla soup, which was excellent. The hamburgers were the star though. They were cooked perfect with an amazing fire finish. Highly recommended. Fries were perfect and delicious. Our server was very good. Just the right amount of interaction. Had our drinks full and the check out at the correct time to make it easy to finish up and get going. Overall a very delightful experience. We will be back and will recommend.

First time dinning here. If I didnt live out of town I would come here to eat all the time! Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was super delicious.

I ordered 4 things. Each item was delicious. The service was great- fast and friendly. I want to focus on the food though, which was flavorful, hot, tender, and filling. Worth every penny and I will absolutely come back again.

Food was so good. Our server Neka was the absolute best, and we had no idea it was only her 3rd day. She suggested the egg rolls and they were AMAZING. Our food came quick and everything was delicious. Neka was super fun to talk to and honestly made our experience even better. I hope we get to see her again when we come back, because we definitely will be now! This was our first time here. Best anniversary celebration!

Firebirds was amazing. My server was so so nice and attentive, she recommended some really good dishes and also make sure my allergy accommodations were taken care of. The food is delicious, I would definitely come back I was mad I got full. The energy in here is just incredible, everyone is full of smiles and the atmosphere is something special.

Went here with some of my girlfriends on 1/7/2025. Our server was very kind and funny. I ended up not eating all of my food and asked for a box. When I got to my car and started driving, I then realized I had forgotten my box of food. I drove back to the restaurant to find that they had just thrown it out. Our server was so kind and asked if I would wait until they made me a new plate. They did not charge me extra. Thank you again and I will be back soon!

Steak Frites at Firebird -I think it’s a fine establishment reasonably priced great food. Service was great. Food came out fast and hot I loved the salad very acidic. The menu has a lot of options. Would I come back maybe not but it just wasn’t my vibe.

We had a nice dinner at Firebirds! We ordered the lobster fondue salmon, roasted chicken, and the lobster dip appetizer everything was flavorful and well-cooked. We did have to wait about 20 minutes before being served, but our waitress was very sweet, attentive, and apologetic, which made up for the delay. The service and food overall made it a good experience, and I’d come back again!

Victoria was our waitress, she was really busy, food took a minute to be ready, I asked my steak to be medium rare and it was medium. In general food was good. I had dirty martinis and it was really good. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Bar area is super nice. I had the NY strip, my friends had the fillet and shrimp and ribeye and they had the loaded potato and they said potatoes were amazing, same with the steaks. I would like next to for the food took be ready faster and more attention on tables.

Had a reservation for 4 and we got seated right on time. The food was good. Especially the BLT salad. Atmosphere was nice. Service was lacking. Our waitress was one that didn’t write anything down…. We ended up missing some food that didn’t arrive till we were 1/2 finished. We had a hard time tracking the waitress down when we needed something.

We had a birthday dinner here. The food was good. We had the Lobster app it was fire. We had the entree special. The BLT salad was fire. I’m not sure the name of the sauce that they put on the salmon and shrimp but it’s FIRE. We ordered extra. And dessert was yummy too

Very nice! Comfy seating. Food was great but had to ask for bacon they forgot. And had to wait on childs plate a while.

Was in town for training. This spot was right across my hotel. Drinks were just right. Dinner was great. Perfectly cooked steak. Highly recommended.

Very calm and relaxing atmosphere. Our hostess and server was very attentive. My only complaint is that I ordered a Chicken Caprese Pasta and received the Firebird Chicken pasta. I did not mention it to the server because this meal was very good as well!! We was all very pleased with our service even with a minor slip up. We would definitely go back.

Service and seating was a little slow but I’ll give them grace as they may have been short staffed. The food was phenomenal! When you walk in you can smell the wood and it’s so comforting. I was impressed with the options on the kids meal and they had salmon and steak. My son loved his salmon! My wife and I ordered the 3 course meal and neither disappointed. The Cilantro grilled chicken was flavorful with a nice grilled flavor. My wife says the sirloin option was ok but if you can upgrade to the filet. It was slightly dry and overcooked.

Great service, friendly and accommodating waitress. The drink options are interesting and the menu was diverse. Recommend asking for low or no seasoning on the fries. Mine were so salty they weren't edible. If you stay for dessert, the Big Daddy Chocolate Cake is ample to share and worth it. We went at 9:30 on a Friday night and walked right in with no wait.

Need prime rib on Friday nights! Food was delicious. Love the ambiance of the fireplace as we sat in the bar area. Service could have been better but the manager made up for it with a birthday dessert. Would definitely return.

I've always had excellent food here. Also, the atmosphere and smell from the fire is amazing. However, the service in the bar area could be improved. On one visit, there was only one person working the bar, so I didn't get a refill or condiments. On another visit, the waiter in the bar seemed dismissive and annoyed when my guest asked questions about the menu. I understand that they are busy, but I recommend sitting in the general seating area instead, where the service is much better.

Too small of a waiting area that my party was skipped because they didnt want to ask who was first but just assumed, lemonade was so sour and had very little sugar that my stomach hurt after a couple sips, deviled eggs were not advertised on the menu with jalepenos and were a big let down, my plate had dried food crusted on the bottom and my sandwich was poorly proportioned, (half of it was bread). I am still giving a 4 star because I have visited this location before and it was delicious. Not sure whats happened in the last 2 years.

I’ve been yearning for a perfectly cooked steak since my last visit to a steakhouse, and you delivered beyond expectations. My steak was cooked to absolute perfection — every bite was flavorful, tender, and just right. A big shoutout to the service team as well — attentive, friendly, and genuinely made me feel taken care of. That’s the kind of service I’m talking about! It’s a bit of a shame I had to come all the way out to Indiana to find this level of quality and hospitality, but I’m so glad I did. Thank you again — amazing food, outstanding service. Hosted a work dinner here for a group of 9 members. Appetizers included the lobster cheese dip, chimichuri shrimp, smoked wings, tuna tartare - all of them were solid. Lots of entreee several Cajun steaks, salmon, shrimp salad, etc. food was really good but a tad bit salty overall. Besides this, the service was great and ambiance was good. We ordered every dessert on the menu and nearly everything from the carrot cake, bread pudding, chocolate cake, brownie with ice cream, creme brulee cheesecake, lemon cake - each of them were consistently good. Overall it’s a place I would return to in the future Updated on 9/8/2025 - Completely letdown by a very poor dining experience tonight. The server took 20 minutes to notice us at the table, drinks took 15 minutes to be served, appetizers took 50 minutes - of which the wings were super dry and overcooked (nothing like last time) and we tried to send it back. Deviled eggs were good and tuna tartare was fine, dinner was ordered and took another 30 minutes - everyone got steaks and mine was supposed to be medium rare but 50% of it was overcooked to death, my colleague ordered wine with his steak that arrived when 70% of his meal was done - he had to leave most of his wine untouched. Staff is overwhelmed and things seemed out of sorts in all ways. I am utterly disappointed with today’s experience where food quality has been nothing close to what we experienced in the recent past, very slow and reactive service, I regret choosing this spot for my team dinner today.

Atmosphere is pleasant, greeter & wait staff friendly, caring & attentive. Ordered 2 sirloins well done, 1 was burnt & both were tough & void of flavor. No bread/crackers while waiting longer than a usual steakhouse & only 1 side w/ steak were both disappointing. Had ordered an additional side which was brought out late after our meals. On the plus side, drink options were above & beyond normal w/ natural ingredients & 0 alcohol options. Also cheesecake was presented well. Great place to go for drinks, food, well I might give it another try, but definitely no sirloin.

The atmosphere was great! Service great! Food was so so. It started off great with most wonderful salad Ive had but the steak that we order we not cooked to our liking. My prime rib was almost raw and his steak was more like a med rare and he wanted well done. It was like whoever was cooking that night said you will take it how I give it to you. But I took our steaks home and stuck them in the broiler. And they were excellent. Update I went today and was slightly disappointed not only by the selection but the food as well. Then the service was mediocre. It was just not as great as last time.

Came down to Indy for the night and was looking for a nicer restaurant near the hotel. Found this place. It looked promising and sounded promising. Overall, not bad. Outside was inviting and the inside was nice as well, but could stand to be dusted top to bottom. Pretty bad. They offered a vast menu of steaks, sandwiches, salads, and seafood. All very tempting. We ordered the Lobster, Spinach queso with tortilla chips. First few chips and queso were a nice break from the norm. After that it lost its appeal. My wife enjoyed the garlic sirloin with a loaded baked potato. Good flavor and a generous dollop of herb butter on the steak. My daughter and I each got a burger and steak fries. She ate about four bites and I ate almost all of mine. I got about halfway through and realized it wasn't anything amazing and was simply eating for the sake of eating. The beer, however, was nice and cold! If you've been to Longhorn and liked it, keep going to Longhorn. It's very similar.

Went Friday 9/15/23 with friends. We had the Firebirds chicken pasta & honey garlic chicken Pasta was delicious & chicken dish was so/so, chicken a bit dry, but nice flavorful veggies. The service was the problem…server maybe was newer, but didn’t seem to be able to handle what was going on. Never asked my dining companion how she would like her steak cooked so it came out medium well & that would not be the way she wanted it but didn’t want to waste the time & energy to send it back, entrees came out one by one, the other dining companion ordered a loaded baked potato & Caesar salad & they forgot the salad. Drinks were slow to arrive, check was slow to arrive Better options with same type of good

What is keeping me from giving them a higher rating? Is that I left my food to go on the table? I didn't notice it till I got home. I called, and she said ( I think her name is Addy), we usually do not keep it past 3 hours. Then, when I told her the time that I left according to my receipt less that 2 hours, then she changed the time and said we throw away 30 minutes after. I didn't even eat half of my entire. Needless to say I was upset

My friend and I came here for Devour. 3 courses for $35 can’t be beat. When I walked in there was a wait so we grabbed a drink at the bar. The service at the bar was fantastic, but unfortunately can’t say the same about our dinner experience. Our server constantly took our plates away while we still had food on it, and didn't even ask if we wanted to take items to go. It was a cozy place to be on a cold night, but the service was lacking.

My experience at Firebird’s was underwhelming from the food I was served to the condition of the bathrooms. Of everything we ate the Deviled Eggs were the best thing we bought. The prices were outrageous! $19.75 for 10 chicken wings? And they only came in one spicy flavor. My God mom was disappointed because that’s what she wanted as an appetizer (they call them shareables) but there was no honey bbq sauce or even garlic Parmesan. The Deviled Eggs were even served with jalapeños and Sriracha that we had to request to have on the side. The menu was so plain no visual representation of each dish. I went on the website just to view pictures which we both agreed was better. What I wanted was a salmon on a bed of mash, shrimp and broccoli covered in a sauce. I was told it was promotional and was no longer available. Which made zero sense to me because they had all those ingredients in house. I kid you not, the fish sandwich I ordered came out with cold fish, hard bread that made a thumping sound when I hit it on the side of my plate. I absolutely couldn’t eat it without the risk of chipping a tooth. My loaded potato was cold. I honestly wanted to leave but my God mom was hungry and suggested that I just return the sandwich for a fresher one. Morgan our waiter was great she apologized and brought out a fresh sandwich. She was the ONLY highlight of this lunch date. We made sure to tip her. I’m a food reviewer and I placed this on my social media and everyone asked if I would recommend I told them no, absolutely not. The fish is bland, no seasoning, our bread was cold. For $55+ dollars not including the tip it was very disappointing. Right down to the bathroom stalls that had urine on them, water all over the sinks, the hand soap didn’t work on the right side. The battery was running low on the paper towel dispenser. I mean why not have a crew member check the bathrooms once an hour? I wanted to come back and try the roasted chicken but it’s a hard pass. This place has nice decor but it’s “Smoke & Mirrors” a fine dining illusion. Consider yourself warned.

This is an interesting one for me to write. I had a decent experience at A Firebirds in a different state a while back. My wife and I decided we would give it a try but we really aren't fans of any kind of chain. I recalled an awesome spicy pasta that I had before and I wanted to try it again. When we went in, I really liked the aesthetic, we were told it would be a 4 hour wait because of reservations and we nearly left when they suggested the bar. They mentioned it was a full menu bar, so we decided that was fine and when we looked up the bar was empty aside from a single man sitting down on the other side. We took a seat and we were straight up ignored for a solid 10 mins. I mean, no one even looked at us. That didn't stop them from debating loudly enough as to who was going to take the bullet and take care of us, which was just.... Wow. We watched probably 6 people at one point behind the bar, they kept stacking dirty dishes, blenders, and glasses directly in front of me. The pineapple smell didn't mix well with my pasta. The person who served our drinks was not the person who took our order, which probably explains why we were served the wrong drink. Believe me when I say it took plenty long to flag down the bartender to get it fixed. Not because they were busy, but because they had a lot to talk about and they weren't fans of someone they were working with, I know this because they didn't have a problem gossiping directly in front of us while leaning up against the bar with their backs turned. We weren't the only one being ignored either is my guess given that the guy behind us was flagging someone down like he was trying to land a plane. I damn near asked for his order myself because the poor guy looked desperate to get some help. The food was fine, it didn't rock my world by any stretch. The older black gentleman that served our food was very polite, very hospitable and very attentive after our food was delivered. He cleared our plates and did his thing with other clientele. The rest of the staff just seemed genuinely annoyed that we were still there while my wife finished her drink that arrived after she had already finished her meal. (The one that was wrong the first time). Our experience wasn't great, I wish I could say it was busy and I just needed to give them a break but when we arrived, despite the long list of supposed reservations, the place was empty.

First time coming here and the food was very disappointing. Chilly cheesesteak egg rolls , over fried, hard to eat, not much cheese or meat in them. Honey Glazed chicken was overly dry (super overcooked) and not what I expected for a glazed honey dish, they cook the glaze and don't add any sauce on top. Had it taken back and got the salmon instead and it was just as bland. Ended up not eating anything other than port mushrooms . Parmesan mashed potatoes were bland, needed a ton of salt n pepper. My bf got the ribeye steak and it was good, Brownie dessert was decent as well. They do good steaks, other entrees not so much. For the prices, not worth it.

My husband and I met my sister and brother in law for my birthday. Glad we went during Devour because the food wasn't worth it. My sister, mine and her husband all got the prime rib. Almost everyone of them was almost raw. We asked for medium. The appetizers were ok, nothing special. My husband got the new york strip and it was just ok. My sister had told them we were there for my birthday and nothing. It's not a major thing but it would have been nice to get a song. I doubt we will be back. The waitress was nice and respectful.

We specifically reserved a table at 4pm, before the rush so I could enjoy my birthday dinner with family. When we came in, they had no table prepared for us despite it not being busy, hostess disappeared from the stand for like 10 mins and left guests coming in, crowding together inside waiting to be sat because it was cold outside. Salad came drenched with dressing, steaks were not good at all. After dinner I didn’t have anything else and I don’t drink alcohol, and before bed I felt so sick and threw up all my dinner not sure why .. server was nice and all but yeah I would not go again :( I was so excited to try a new place for my birthday too… :(

I have never felt so rushed at a restaurant! They are definitely looking for turnover. I did not like the bright LED light shining directly down on our table. It felt like an interrogation. It also showed how filthy the wine bottles stored on the wall are. We waited too long for our drinks, and had no time to enjoy them before the salads came out… ahead of the appetizer! The condiments we requested didn’t arrive till the meal was done. Horrible experience!

This was one of the worse experiences I've had with take out. We ordered our food to go for Admin Appreciation. The food arrived and I immediately noticed that the fruit was actually place in the container with the warm meat and baked potato. Not just my meal but other meals that had fruit in them. Not only was the fruit was warm bit some of it was rotten. The baby back ribs were tuff, not grilled and barely any meat on the bones. I was truly disappointed and Firebirds isn't cheap. I expect better from them. Everything ended up in the trash. I will probably not eat there again! Do better for your take out customers!!!

Atmosphere is nice but that’s it! Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Service was absolutely terrible. Waitress barely came to table. When they dropped the food off they just dropped and left not giving enough time to ask for anything. Waited till we ate 1/2 the food before asking if we need condiments. As our glasses set empty most of the time. Asked for more bread and was told it was in the oven. As you guessed bread never showed up. But you bet when I put that card in the book to pay for the check she was there in 10 secs to pick it up. Seemed like they were really focused on the bigger parties more than anything. Really disappointed and will not return.
