Easily the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to! The chips and salsa are delicious and the house made guacamole was amazing. I ordered the crab enchiladas, and they were perfect. My husband ordered the Arroyo enchiladas which were also delicious. Their margaritas are good as well, and we were impressed with the flan we got for dessert. Food, service and atmosphere were all great. Definitely will be coming back and recommending to others!

I came here about 5 times now, and it’s always amazing. If you like spicy food, definitely ask for the spicy salsa. But be careful, some of them are very spicy. Highly recommend the Langoustino Quesadilla, very delicious. The Arroyo Molcajete is also great. We tried it with steak and chicken, and it tasted just as amazing as it looked. The mix of spices is rich and complex, and the hot molcajete keeps everything warm till the end. Great service, nice atmosphere, and both indoor and outdoor seating are excellent. Highly recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Greatest Mexican Food Experience of My Life — Los Arroyos Carmel I’ve been on a 5-year mission to find the best cheese enchiladas on planet Earth, and tonight — my quest finally ended here at Los Arroyos in Carmel, Indiana. From the moment I sat down, I could tell something special was about to happen. The chips and salsa are next level — light, perfectly crisp, kissed with just the right salt. And the salsa is divine. My personal favorite? The salsa — smooth, rich, tangy, and full of flavor without the heat. It’s honestly my favorite salsa on Earth. Then came the enchiladas. I took one bite and realized — this is it. The flavor, texture, the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio… everything in balance, everything beautiful. I’ve searched across states and countries, but Los Arroyos has crafted the definitive cheese enchilada. The restaurant itself carries the warmth of tradition — founded on recipes from Mamá Toña in Michoacán, Mexico, brought to life by the Arroyo family with genuine love and artistry. Every dish tells a story, every detail shows care. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the service. The owner, Andre Rodrigo, personally greeted and served me. He looks exactly like Enrique Iglesias — charming, kind, and completely dedicated to his guests. In years of dining, I’ve never received service so thoughtful, attentive, and sincere. As Enrique once sang: “I’m addicted” !!!!! Go ask for Andre or could it be Enrique … go find out Yes — I’ll be back. Again and again. Los Arroyos Carmel isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a love story told in salsa, tortillas, and soul. 🌮❤️ 7 billion stars if I could.

$13 lunch specials were delicious. Went on a cool day and sat outside on the patio. Our waitress was attentive. The food came out so fast. Mole enchiladas were delicious. The gringo was also very tasty. Good size portions even on the lunch menu.

We had a great dinner at Los Arroyos! The homemade guacamole was fresh and tasty, though a bit small in portion. I enjoyed the chimichanga with carnitas—crispy outside and flavorful inside—while my wife loved the Tacos Del Mar with halibut and shrimp, full of fresh flavors and great salsas. Our server was very polite and made the experience even better. We’ll definitely come back!

Had my first visit to Los Arroyos Carmel and it couldn’t have been better! The experience was amazing from start to finish. Jessica was incredibly friendly and gave us great suggestions. Don’t miss out on the margaritas and street tacos—and the fajitas are always a win. Such a cozy spot, perfect for gatherings and special occasions.

Los Arroyos is hands down one of the best places for authentic Mexican cuisine in Carmel. The food is outstanding, with bold, traditional flavors that make every dish memorable. Two absolute standouts are the Rib Eye Tacos and the Tacos Gobernador. The rib eye is tender, juicy, and perfectly grilled, served on home made tortillas with just the right toppings. The tacos gobernador – filled with shrimp, melted cheese, and peppers – are rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The house-made guacamole is fresh and zesty, and the margaritas are strong and refreshing – perfect for pairing with any meal. Whether you're in the mood for a quick lunch or a sit-down dinner, Los Arroyos delivers on quality, taste, and atmosphere. It’s clear that everything is made with care and authentic ingredients. Highly recommended for taco lovers and anyone looking to enjoy real Mexican flavors in Carmel.

Absolutely amazing. Loved this place! The bathrooms were very clean, which is usually a good indicator of how they keep their kitchens. The food was fantastic from the chips and salsa to dessert. Our host and waitresses were great with good recommendations. The atmosphere is fun, classy, and family friendly. Our kids devoured their food, and so did we. I would like a little larger serving on the churros, but they were absolutely phenomenal. It was decently priced as well. Los Arroyos is definitely a place I’d recommend and we will be coming back.

This was the first time we had tried Los Arroyos. We were greeted and seated immediately. The wait staff was super helpful and friendly. We ordered fajitas and they came out sizzling and hot. The steak was seasoned perfectly. We ordered unsweet iced tea to drink and it had a peach undertone to it which made it taste wonderful! The fajitas give you the choice of flour or corn tortillas and we chose the corn tortillas. They tasted wonderful. The music playing in the background with current hits and my 20-year-old daughter loved the ambiance. The music was not too loud. They had two different styles of salsa one was hotter and they called it their roasted salsa. It was delicious. They serve chips at the table while you wait for your food. We also ordered the queso to help with our chips, and it had a great flavor.

Five stars for Los Arroyos Mexican Restaurant and Bar! The fajitas were so amazing, they practically danced their way onto my plate. And don’t even get me started on the guacamole – it was so delightful, I almost proposed to it. Highly recommend for anyone who wants their taste buds to do the salsa!

Loved this place. The staff was so friendly and helpful and explained everything thoroughly. The chips and salsa were delivered warm and delicious, and our entrees tasted so fresh and delicious. We loved the decor.

Had to return after an exceptional experience last time. The margaritas are as good as I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Chips are perfect and salsa is top notch. I just happened on this place when in town on business. I think it’s going to be a regular destination. Edit. I visit Carmel 4-6 times a year and I can’t stay away. Such a good place to eat - sometimes with clients and friends, sometimes on my own. Either way the staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is fantastic.

They have some unique dishes with a signature taste that you don't find in other local Mexican restaurants. Seating inside can be cramped at times and parking close during peak times is difficult. One of my favorite dishes is the Arroyo Molcajete (can feed two people). Tip: Ask for the additional spicy sauce trio - they are all delicious.

This restaurant is amazing! We loved the delicious and authentic mexican food and Larissa (general manager) gave the best customer experience with great energy and very professional! We tried the cocktails and the Maria’s Enchiladas! I hope back again

Very good lobster quesadilla and the steak enchiladas were on point. service was spectacular. guacamole was a little chunky. Nice selection of salsa's brought to the table. overall an excellent dining experience. we ate outside on the patio with a nice cool breeze on a warm summer afternoon.

The customer service is excellent and fast, and the dining area is quite pleasant. I appreciate that most of their dishes feature chicken breast. I really enjoy their chips and the two types of salsa. Their blue corn tortilla tacos, featuring filet mignon, swordfish, and quality veggies, are a favorite of mine. I’ve tried La Tampiqueña a few times, and while it’s flavorful, the steak is extremely chewy, not tender at all, and difficult to eat. Note to the owner: let me know when you improve the quality of the steak in La Tampiqueña, and I will re-try it. The drinks are a bit pricey, but I’m confident they use high-quality ingredients. The outdoor seating is fantastic all year round.

Food was Mexican modern, fresh fare. Delicious, but be aware it’s not your typical authentic Mexican food. Margaritas are interesting but not consistently made.

Goodness! I just had an excellent meal here with my aunt and we've been talking about it for the last hour. I had the Chicken Anaheim at the recommendation of our server and I am so glad I took her recommendation! My aunt had the chicken quesadilla and while this isn't an extraordinary item, she said it was the best she's ever had. The chips, salsa, and queso were delicious too! Our service (and server) was fantastic. I'm so glad I finally made it in here and I can't wait to come back!!

I ordered the la tampiqueńa special and it was the best steak I've had in Indiana! The cook was perfect, the chimichurri was fresh and delicious and the queso stuffed pepper paired so well. You can tell everything is made from scratch and the quality is unreal. The tamarindo margarita was refreshing and light. 10/10 recommend and can't wait to return!

Really great Tex Mex restaurant. It's definitely a step up from your standard Tex Mex fare--nicer place, better service, expanded and more "Mex" menu. They offer traditional salsa rojo but also a really tasty charred tomatillo salsa. I highly recommend and we'll certainly go back!

This is the best Mexican restaurant on the north side of Indy. The tortillas are homemade, the ingredients are fresh and our server Ana made us feel at home. You need to try the Skinny Cadillac Margarita. Yum!

This restaurant had excellent food, personalized service from our servers and the manager, and a memorable experience dining there. We’re much more likely to visit Indianapolis (from out of state) just to eat here again. Gracias Los Arroyos!

Absolutely love the fish tacos and the rice pudding, they have a wonderful selection of tequila, cool and small bar area, nice patio seating, and AWESOME live music by Mr. Aldrey (plays on Sundays) in the past I've gotten the tropical salad that was great as well! Everything tastes fresh and it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area

The patio was quiet, off the roads, and shaded. The service was excellent. We shared the ceviche tostada, which was fresh, bright and zesty. Absolutely perfect. I ordered the blue corn tacos, which had the most delightful combinations of flavors. The steak taco, with beans, was very hearty and filling. In contrast, the Halibut taco, was light and flavorful. Even though it was lightly fried, it maintained its crispy texture until the last bite.

Delicious!! The food here was incredible and the service was excellent. At our table we had steak fajitas which were a huge hit!! Some of the best we have had!! We also had chicken con arroz. The staff was very accommodating of different allergies at our table. The only thing I would seek improvement on is the size of their tacos, they are kind of small. The atmosphere in here is so fun! Will definitely be coming back!!

Los Arroyos had come highly recommended, and from the moment we arrived, I understood why. I was meeting a friend and colleague for a business lunch, and the atmosphere was perfect—warm, inviting, and just bustling enough to feel energetic without being overwhelming. Gustavo greeted us with a genuine smile and quickly took our drink orders. When we asked for a few minutes to review the menu, he kindly obliged, giving us the time and space we needed to consider our options. The food sounded incredible, and we wanted to make sure we chose wisely. When Gustavo returned, we were ready to order. I had a few requests for changes to one of the items, hoping to customize it to my preferences. He politely informed me that the chef didn't like to make substitutions. Rather than simply saying no, however, Gustavo rose to the occasion. He made some creative suggestions to help me capture the exact flavor profiles I was looking for without altering the chef's carefully crafted dishes. We tossed a few ideas back and forth, and before we knew it, we had arrived at a perfect solution. We weren't forcing the chef to change any items, and instead, Gustavo had helped me creatively combine elements from different dishes for the best effect. It was problem-solving at its finest. The food arrived quickly, and it was absolutely delicious. Our conversation quieted as we both got busy eating, savoring each bite. As the meal drew to a close, Gustavo returned to check on us and inquire about dessert options. We were both thoroughly satisfied and kindly declined, though everything sounded tempting. He brought to-go boxes for our leftovers and dropped off the check with perfect timing. Then my friend pulled a fast one. She snuck in a surprise treat and beat me to the bill before I could even reach for my wallet. We thanked Gustavo and his team warmly, leaving the restaurant smiling and laughing the way you do after spending quality time with a friend over a great meal. The food had been really good, and the service had been fantastic. We're already looking forward to the next time.

Nice atmosphere. Queso was REALLY GOOD! Services weren’t so great, maybe it was a bad for the waitress day. Food was ok! I’ll pass on the next invite!

In this review I will compare to your traditional Mexican restaurant- Definitely ~upscale Mexican food which was super tasty, fresh and service was great. Definitely a bit pricey. Drink selection and mixes were awesome. You won’t find the portions or as many options as your traditional place. We didn’t have a reservation on a Friday at 6:30 and got right in, but if you don’t want to take any chances, I’d probably make one on the weekend for dinner. It’s a dealbreaker for me when upscale Mexican places charge for chips & salsa. This place did not. My pozole was super great & there was tons leftover. They boxed it for me in soup containers which I thought was impressive because I thought they would put it in a box and I wouldn’t get the broth. Alas, very good, but nothing stand out that makes me think the prices are warranted. I would not purposely choose this place over a traditional joint, but I think it depends on the experience you want. They have weather permitting outdoor seating, bar seating & then restaurant. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place to someone but wouldn’t tell them not to go if that makes sense lol

Could be 5 stars but the service wasn't the best when i went for lunch on a Friday. Great food, fresh guacamole (could use more salt and some jalapenos to kick it up a notch). Order was goofed up (not sure they believed they made the mistake) but when it arrived it tasted great. Took too long to get the check and receipt. Maybe don't go here if in a hurry.

Not oily Mexican food. The portions are a good size. I had enough leftover to take home. The food was delicious and the service was awesome. I'll have to come back to try the other dishes before giving 5 stars.

Food was good and came out in about 45-50 minutes for a table of 5. Only downside was the Margherita which tasted a bit off and seemed to be made poorly. Service was good and our waitress was nice and very helpful. Not a bad experience but still not sure if the food is worth the price you pay 🤨

C

We had a small lunch celebration enjoying flavorful chicken fajitas and Gringa pork pineapple wraps. The marinated flavors were delicious and well seasoned. Menu was simple, clean and reasonably priced. Homemade salsa good but a little bland. Service was mostly friendly but a little slow. I would visit again.

P

Food here was quite good and I think the prices were also fair. We ordered Queso for our chips and we received our meal before the queso. Very fast service.

S

Great lunch specials and food quality is usually very high. Service is generally great. Rating down because they have a very obvious service animals only sign before entry and yet they happily catered to a couple who just had to bring their lap dog in. Clearly not a service animal when it's sitting in your lap and you're hand-feeding it tortilla chips while it tries to nip at the wait staff. I suspect Hamilton County health wouldn't approve. The place is great otherwise. Hopefully they grow a backbone.

A lot of people recommended this restaurant for its authentic Mexican food. Perhaps the Carmel IN location was short staffed the night after Christmas, but I was not impressed, other than with the fantastic variety of margaritas. I ordered Maria’s Enchiladas and there was a garnish on it that I don’t know would have been actually included in Mexico. The enchiladas were a little dry, in my opinion, and would have been better sauced or with queso. There were no spoons included with the salsas I had to pour salsa onto my enchiladas from the serving dish. Service was slow and our party’s (6) entrees were served in a staggered fashion. E.g., my wife’s entree soup was served but the sides and toppings were not served until at least 5 minutes later. My side of rice and beans was not served until well after I received my enchiladas as well. On the plus side I loved the Cadillac Margarita.

S
ScreamNShout Thompson

The service from the waiter was poor after ordering 2 waters for our party of 2 our salsa bowl went empty and would have stayed that way had I not asked, then when the person who wasnt our waiter brought some more salsa it was clearly watered down, and i sent it back with our actual waiter and he replaced it with salsa like originally brought. They would get a far better review but they are scared people who order water wont tip and so they get second rank service.

Where to begin with Los Arroyos? Let’s start with the good. Service was great. Responsive and friendly. Complementary chips and salsa, phenomenal. Other than that, there isn’t much going on for this place. Over the course of an hour and a half not only did we receive another tables entrées, so did two other tables within earshot of us (that had different servers). A woman literally had to walk up to the server station to inform their server they had the incorrect dish. Speaking of food, it was bad…. For a Mexican restaurant, no, dare I say any restaurant, it lacked total flavor. Absolutely 0 seasoning. My partner got the Chile Relleno Burrito, and it tasted like nothing. It was 50% tortilla. I had the rib-eye tacos (pictured in the review). I honestly expected more flavor, but none was given. Overall this place fits perfectly in Carmel. Everything is all glam and bland. No seasoning fits in perfectly with the Carmelite pallet. Which might be what they’re going for. Nice people, sad food.

Management & direction is beyond lacking, granted it is your first week, but you should have had a transition team from Cali if you're going to come into Carmel and try to compete for Mexican food here; there is literally so many better options in Indy (La Hacienda off Binford/71st has won best Mexican food in Indy every year and it's a clear reason why they do). Prices here are ridiculous & the food is lacking everything they supposedly stand for. My MICROWAVED Verde burrito (literally half ice cold and other half boiling) was horrible. The queso w/ chorizo for $14.50 was the worst excuse of queso ever made. See my picture for a better explanation. They pride themselves on their $350, $100 & $80 margaritas. Don't waste your time with this restaurant.

B
Brad B

Had a reservation for 2 and was told it would be a few minutes. Fine. We wait. Couple walks in behind us and is immediately seated with no reservation. Management seemed confused as to why I thought this was problematic. Shame really, was going to be my second visit after enjoying the first time so much. Will not be back at this point.
