We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Rosemary & Olive , and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The private dining space was beautifully set up. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they handled every detail with professionalism and genuine care. Our guests are still talking about how friendly and accommodating everyone was. The food truly exceeded expectations. Every course was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The kitchen was also very accommodating of dietary restrictions, which we greatly appreciated. The timing of each course was spot on, allowing us to relax and enjoy the event without feeling rushed.
What a nice restaurant. Went there with my wife and grown children for dinner. Nice atmosphere and our waiter was very polite and helpful. Everybody enjoyed their meal. We started with Calamari for an appetizer. My wife and I shared their Beat Salad. Wow! It was a nice well balanced portion with the right amount of dressing. Very well prepared. My wife, Daughter-in-law and Son-in-law had the Rigatoni Bolognese. Looked scrumptious and they all said it was fantastic. They ate it all. My son and I had their Pesto Gnocchi. Very well done with great flavor. The only thing my son said that it might have been even better if it was a little more al dente. The texture was unbelievable and they actually melted in your mouth. My Daughter had the Chicken Marsala. She said it was phenomenal. Give them a try if you want a nice dining experience. Next time in Indy we will go back. So glad we tried this place.
This Italian restaurant is a real gem. The food tastes fresh and authentic, with rich flavors that clearly come from quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. Service was friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. Overall, a lovely place for anyone craving good Italian food.
This cozy Italian restaurant was our choice for Christmas Eve. We booked a reservation right when they opened and it filled up very quickly. The soft lighting and ambiance made it feel like I was dining at someone's home. I started with the beet salad. Omg, one of the best salads I've had. I could have eaten that only and be happy. For my entree, I ordered the gnocchi with pesto. Delicious. I would order it again. The pasta was tender, sauce was flavorful, and the portion was perfect. I also tried a bite of the short rib ravioli. It was okay, but the sauce didn't have much flavor. Our entrees did take a bit of time to come out of the kitchen but this is probably due to how busy they were. Overall, I would come back for the beet salad!
This beautiful restaurant off Mass Ave will be your new favorite Italian/Mediterranean restaurant! Came for an early bday dinner. The ambience was beyond beautiful, the manager was so friendly and tentative. Our server was amazing and made our experience superb! 10/10! To start: calamari (sorry not pictured) Dinner: Branzinopan-Sea Bass- with green beans and spaghetti with pomodoro sauce. Chicken Marsala with green beans and spaghetti with their linguine sauce. I asked them to change it from the pomodoro and they happily did! Dessert: Zeppole!
Authentic Italian food with big portions and wonderful Newyork city atmosphere. We were walking around mass ave and popped in and decided to go ahead and stay for dinner, loved every bit of it.
Such a cute restaurant, I loved the decor!!! The food was SO GOOD and the service was amazing. My favorite was the beet salad. The portion size of the pasta was perfect! I got the linguine tutto mare and the seafood was delicious. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in town!
Outdoor and indoor seating. We were seated immediately. We ordered the bread service and rice croquettes w/cheese and beef for appetizers. For entrees, Whole Branzino , Gnoochi w/ a creamy basil sauce with chicken, and Shrimp Scampi. Great flavors, appreciated the Italian vegetables served as a side dish.
Tennesseans traveling, craved Italian, and landed here! Food & service were phenomenal - had Venetia as our waitress & got to talk and meet with Brandon! Overall great experience and well worth it! Ordered Bruschetta Pomodoro (forgot to take a picture) it was beautiful and delicious! For our entrees we ordered Rigatoni Bolognese & Creste Di Gallo with Shrimp…. Plates were devoured!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Outstanding Dining Experience! We had a fantastic dinner at Rosemary and Olive! Everything from the food to the service was exceptional. We ordered the Salmon Siciliana, Veal Marsala, and Beef Carpaccio each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the veal was tender and rich with Marsala wine sauce, and the carpaccio was delicate and delicious. Our server went above and beyond to make our evening special. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and made some excellent cocktail recommendations don’t miss the French Martini and the Berry Pie cocktail. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for an elegant yet comfortable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
So glad this Italian spot opened up in the area! The ambiance is great, the servers are super friendly, and the portions are pretty decent. The food was amazing - I had the gnocchi pesto pasta, and it was one of the best I’ve had in a while. The beetroot salad was also really good! Everyone there was so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back and bringing more friends. Highly recommend!
Rosemary and Olive has become one of our favorite restaurants in the city. We love rigatoni bolognese and bucatini pastas. Definitely worth the visit.
Setting, service, and food were all faultless. Smaller menu implies quality and freshness and the dishes reflected that. Most of us know what we're getting with Italian restaurants and R&O does not disappoint. Meatballs were tender, sauces were spot on needing no salt or additional flavor, shrimp scampi was delicious and filling. Check it out
The food was all fantastic. I had the Salmon Siciliana, which was delicious. The rest of my party got gnocchi with pesto and fettuccine alfredo. I also got the bread service, and we split the Burrata Caprese. I finished off my dinner with the chocolate amore cake. None of it disappointed, and our servers were attentive and quick to clear our table of empty plates. They were accommodating of one member of our party who was pickier and just ordered buttered noodles, which was greatly appreciated as it was not necessary.
We had a great time. Food was fantastic. Drink selection was great. I would definitely come back!
Food was incredible and service was fast and friendly. We had a great time and ended being the last to leave. We went during devour week and chose off of that menu with the app, entree and dessert for $40
We were all really impressed with this Italian restaurant. The food is out of this world. The menu has something for everyone. We had the beef rigatoni, linguine tutti mare, the mussels dish (can't remember the name) and the gnochhi. Again we loved the food. Service was quite good. The only detractors is that the space can be loud when it's full. Prices were also reasonable. Do your self a favor and stop in here and say hi to Big George!
Always a great meal here. Service is great, food is simply phenomenal. Cocktails were very well done. Quite possibly my favorite restaurant in Indy.
Amazing food amazing atmosphere phenomenal service. Just took the spot as my favorite Italian restaurant in Indy
This is a lovely restaurant with very polite service and exceptionally cooked food. Our group of four started with bruschetta in the appetizers. From the main menu we tried marsala, gnocchi w/ pesto with chicken, spaghetti pomodoro, and linguine tutto mare. We paired this up with white wine (Gavi) and red wine (Cabernet Sauvignon). Finally, for dessert we tried their beignets. Every single thing was cooked to perfection and served with professionalism. Our server, particularly I believe, Emma was there with extra cheese and pepper for our group and we just absolutely loved the whole experience. I can't wait to come here again and try other things from the menu. I would like to know the full name of Gavi white wine that we tried if someone from the restaurant reads this. Thank you.
Great atmosphere and service and food was incredible. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for good Italian in downtown Indy.
amazing valentines experience! 10/10! Service was super fast and our server Jose was amazing! Food was excellent! Definitely would come back! We got: Beef carpaccio Chicken piccata Shrimp scampi
Such a great restaurant! Great tasting food, great value, great service!!! It seriously is the best. Love this locally owned place, absolutely and must have.
Finally a true Italian Restaurant. Home made bread, one of a kind Creste Di Gallo with shrimp, and the service was amazing. Ask for Jimmy!
Super sweet staff, food was on point, ambience was perfect, will certainly return! Well done!
Absolutely amazing experience from the second we walked in the door until the time we left. Service was incredible, food was delicious, and the entire staff was extremely pleasant and full of smiles the entire time. We left full of smiles and woke up still thinking about the wonderful time we had! Cannot wait to come back and dine in again! Thank you for the superb experience!!😍
My brother and I went in for a celebratory dinner. Something that we could enjoy thoroughly and not break the bank. This place was amazing! The service was second to none! Everybody cared about how you were doing and how you felt, and the quality of the food. I definitely recommend this place for anybody that wants an amazing Italian dinner with the best ambience!
We just popped in on a busy night and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The staff was amazing, so welcoming and always checked in even during a busy evening. The food was totally worth the enjoyable wait! Can’t wait to bring my husband and other friends here.
food was declicious & the owner is the best. highly recommend the baked ricotta and the gnocchi with pesto. everything we had was amazing and the service was great!
Highly recommend! The food was absolutely delicious- truly authentic Italian flavors and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The service made it even better. Everyone was super friendly, from the host to our server Violet, and the manager Stephanie. It's such a joy to have a server who clearly enjoys her job! Such a warm, welcoming vibe all around. We’ll definitely be back!
The Carpaccio is outstanding, have tried it at many restaurants and this is the best yet! Calamari was perfectly prepared and very nice. The beet salad was a terrific different experience and nicely done. Others at the table enjoyed chicken and veal piccata and all were very satisfied with their choices. The meatballs are of the highest quality and very flavorful. Pasta was perfect. Service was quite good. This restaurant is a must try if you enjoy Italian cuisine.
Setting, service, and food were all exceptional. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the flexibility. They happily adjusted a pasta dish for me, and it was excellent. I had the Creste di Gallo (originally made with shrimp), and it was full of flavor, great texture, and richness. The ambiance and lighting were lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. George, who seemed to be the owner, was incredibly welcoming and made the experience even better. We had a great time last weekend.
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant. It's one of our go-to spots, and it never disappoints. We've been here countless times and the food is consistently delicious -- flavorful, rich, and always hits the spot. 🤌 One of the things we appreciate most is how fast the food comes out without ever feeling rushed. The ambiance is calm, beautiful, and relaxed -- the perfect balance of efficient service and an enjoyable dining experience. You can truly sit back and savor your meal. We've tried many different dishes over time -- appetizers, entrées, desserts -- and every single one has been fantastic. Not once have we been disappointed. We love it so much that our 5 year old daughter chose to have her birthday dinner here, which says a lot! It's a special place for our family, and we always leave happy. Highly, highly recommend!
It was a fantastic dining experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious food. We started with classic bruschetta and a perfectly crisp Caesar salad, both fresh and flavorful. For the main course I got bucatini amatriciana and it was the star of the evening, cooked al dente.
The service was exceptional. They greeted us with genuine smiles and were attentive without being intrusive. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations. As for the food, it truly exceeded expectations. We will definitely be back.
Amazing service and food! We cancelled our reservation on a Saturday night because we didn't think we'd make it. However, we still showed up with our 16 month old, hoping they'd be able to fit us in. They were so accommodating and kind upon arrival. We were treated to great Italian food, and attentive and hospitable service. We highly recommend Rosemary and Olive to all!
Just flew in from AZ for the holidays and received a recommendation for this restaurant and could not have been more pleased. Julius took great care of us and the food was fantastic. The wine list was Perfect, we enjoyed a nice Chianti. I would post pictures but we ate faster than our cameras would work. thanks again and I will be back the next time I'm in town.
If you’re looking for a restaurant that combines exceptional cuisine, and a romantic ambiance, this is the perfect choice for a Valentine’s celebration. An unforgettable evening from start to finish. ❤️ This place is definitely going be our favorite restaurant to celebrate our special occasions.
This is a super cute place with a fun staff and the ambiance is wonderful. I'm a light and visual customer and if this sucks the food will suck. Only issue with lighting is in the kitchen area you can spot from your table or the bar. The food was superb drink were perfection and the timing with everything was at your pace. I wantnto bring everyone i know here. Its a very young restaurant with room to grow. Parking is easy AND its a family restaurant. Please show this place some love.
Easily the best Italian food in Indianapolis; nothing else even comes close. There's ample parking around the restaurant, and two very large public lots within very reasonable walking distance; we never struggle to find parking. Pro tip: there is a parking lot behind the building across the road from the restaurant (to the South) that no one seems to know exists. The restaurant's atmosphere is quiet and subtle. I find the dining experience to be relaxing. It is somehow perfect for every occasion: date nights, birthdays, and family dinners. The food. Oh, the food. I am currently fresh off of cleaning my plate from an order of creste di gallo with shrimp as I write this. The sauce? Flavorful with subtle hints of butter that fuses perfectly with the tomato base. The pasta? Perfectly tender and well portioned. The shrimp? Cooked to perfection, and never poor quality--I should know, I now eat it at least once a month. The overall effect? I would eat the food from this place if they served it on the floor. This is my daughter's favorite restaurant; she requested it for her birthday dinner. I brought both sides of our family: the grandparents, the aunts, the uncles, the cousins. The restaurant was super easy to work with, and they held the reservation perfectly. Amongst the entire party of 18, we ordered essentially everything on their menu. Our family still talks about how fantastic the dinner was; everyone was beyond thrilled with their meals. The staff have always been fantastic. The hostess is always extremely friendly and helpful; on the occasion that we walk-in and have a wait she's always thoughtful and recommends something nearby to do to pass the time. The wait staff are quick and attentive; I'm usually impressed at how quickly our food comes out. One of the waitresses started recognizing my daughter after only a handful of visits and now spoils her. I've seen the owner, on multiple occasions, personally walk around and engage with customers to make sure that they are enjoying their meals--you can tell that it's a passion and not just a business. I cannot possibly recommend Rosemary & Olive enough. It is a fantastic restaurant, and it has never disappointed. I generally only find food of this quality while traveling abroad or at pricey, specialty restaurants at places like Disney World. If anyone disagrees, they have my deepest sympathy for the misfortune of being born without tastebuds.
We came here with my family to celebrate my birthday, and everything was excellent. The food was perfect, and the service was amazing. Ayesa was our server, and she was incredibly sweet she surprised me with a mini donut beautifully plated with “Happy Birthday.” Her outstanding service truly made my birthday celebration that night unforgettable. We will definitely be coming back!!!
Classic neighborhood Italian with solid pasta, I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the fresh pasta. From the first bite, you can taste the difference — the texture is perfectly tender with just the right amount of bite, and it absorbs the sauce beautifully.
I would recommend coming here for a bite with friends or work dinner. Ample parking at the garage, but not outside restaurant. Good ambiance and staff has great service. There were about 3 options for meatless pasta, but servers were willing to accommodate. I would love to see a meatless meatball or vegan pasta option. The Venetia wine was good, and the Olive and bread service were good appetizers. I wish the bread came with traditional balsamic as well as the oil. I asked the waiter for balsamic and I got the sweet storebought stuff.
Wonderful experience.. we sat at the bar and the bartender was so very pleasant, welcoming, and attentive. Cocktails were absolutely perfect. I ordered the chicken piccata and the sauce was delicious but the chicken was a bit dry. Overall, we will absolutely be coming here again.
DELISH food!! We made reservations and showed up two or three minutes early, and then had to wait a while only to be sat in a table that was cleared the whole time. There seemed to be some confusion about that and then our server was very kind and fast but the energy in the place was hectic. To be fair, it was an Italian restaurant on mass ave the night before the marathon. Without sound proofing and a full house it was pretty loud in there but DANG the food was worth it!! It was so yummy we forgot to take pictures before we dug in. The pesto gnocchi was amazing as was the bruschetta with eggplant.
Great food and cocktails! Tried this place out for my birthday over the weekend and was not disappointed. French Martini 10/10, Pesto gnocchi 10/10, Veal 10/10. Service could have been a bit more attentive for the price we're paying, but overall was good too.
I had a wonderful dinner at Rosemary & Olive when we unexpectedly happened upon this place. We ordered the short rib ravioli, which was very soft and tender, but the taste of the short rib was a bit buried by the sauces and it was a bit salty. The bucatini amatriciana was fantastic. The ambience and service was excellent. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in Indianapolis and I'm excited to go back!
We had a party of 12 seated in a separate room, and the music in the room was loud and we literally had to talk over it just to greet each other. Totally fine.... until management 10 minutes in decided normal conversation was somehow “too loud.” Stephanie, the manager, came in and rudely told us to be quiet like we were misbehaving kids, claiming we were disturbing the table next door (we weren’t). Instead of doing the obvious thing, turning the music down, she chose attitude. Honestly, it was embarrassing for the restaurant more than for us. George, as the owner, you might want to take a closer look at who you have representing your business. A little hospitality and common sense would go a long way. If large groups having conversations is a problem, maybe don’t seat large groups. Plenty of places know how to treat paying customers better. We won’t be back. But Lj, our server, did amazing.... thank God!
**EDITED 2/12/26: I did forget to mention in my original review that the cocktails and apps were delicious, so I would suggest getting some apps and drinks. Management reached out to my mother saying they had seen our reviews and explained that there were issues behind the scenes and offered to make our experience right. She gave some explanations about what issues occurred through out the night and previously working in service I can give grace. I'm not sure if I'll be returning but my mom is satisfied and as it was her birthday celebration that's all that matters to me. We went dined here on 2/6 to celebrate my mom’s birthday and unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be going back. We had a group of 7 and were all first time diners with this restaurant and excited to eat some yummy Italian food. The service while friendly was lack luster and just not well timed at all. We were not offered drinks until we flagged down our server and requested something other than water. Flagging them down became the theme of the evening as we had to do so to be refills after sitting there for 30 minuets with empty glasses and no one checking on us. We also had to flag them down to order appetizers. Once apps were delivered our server did not return to our table to take any entree orders until she had finished clear every single appetizer dish off the table. This left us all sitting there for 25-30 minuets waiting for our entrees to come out. The pasta was good, but two at our table got the chicken Marsalab which is over $25. But this Marsala had no Marsala and was basically just a warm mushroom sauce. A birthday treat is never expected but appreciated, our server dropped of 4 chocolate filled donuts lit a candle and then left. We were never offered any other dessert options and still don’t really if they have any. Our server then came and cleared every plate off the table and then 30 minuets after we finished our meal and the table was clean she brought the check. By the point we were all more than ready to leave and just be done. Overall I would not recommend spending your money here. A dinner that should’ve only taken 2 hours ended up taking 3+ due to our server seemingly forgetting our party of 7 existed. Indy is lucky enough to have so many awesome Italian options that I can confidently say are better quality and value than this restaurant.
I was hoping for a great evening with my wife but unfortunately found somewhere i will NEVER recommend or return to… Hostess with the bob was unpleasant. Rude, seemed like we were inconveniencing her just by getting a table. When we sat down, we could hear her gossiping at the host stand with a different lady. Our waitress was pleasant, but seemed to be very overworked and was running around the place while other staff stood around doing nothing..? It took over 15 minutes for glasses of wine to arrive. Atmosphere was okay, but not worth the price. It is obvious they cheaped out. Food was mediocre. I wouldn’t pay 30 dollars for boxed pasta again. Overall I was very disappointed with the experience and would never recommend this place. Don’t come unless you want to spend money on food that would be 10x better at home.
