I recently visited this relatively new spot and was thoroughly impressed by the clean, modern feel. The highlight, however, was the food. Their soondae and soondaegook were exceptional, easily some of the best I've had. The flavors and side dishes were authentic and perfectly balanced, making each bite an absolute delight. This place is still a bit of a hidden gem, so I recommend visiting before word gets out and it becomes crowded. Highly recommended for a fantastic dining experience!
The sauce for the seafood pancake is amazing. Soon dae is good too. And the octopus was super fresh
Best Korean spot in Irvine. Come here for the best comfort food that hits the spot. Our go to is usually the beef short rib soup, fried dumplings, steam pork belly, etc. the service is great and wait time is not bad when it’s not peak hours. The prices are pretty fair especially if you’re sharing a meal.
It’s my first time here. A friend recommended the octopus and small intestine hot pot, and it really was delicious. Highly recommend—very authentic!
Moobongri Soondae is one of those Korean comfort food restaurants that people in the area seem to really like. It offers hearty soups, rich broths, and dishes that are filling and authentic. It’s especially popular among those craving soondae (Korean blood sausage), hotpots, and various soups. It tends to draw a crowd, especially in the evening.
Best Korean food in town. Love the seafood pancake, Beef soup etc. The stuff are very helpful, the experience is perfect, definitely deserve a second visit.
It was very yummy! The intestine bbq is something I would come back for!
If you're in the mood for some delicious traditional Korean food, this is a lovely spot to check out! They even offer live octopus on the menu for the adventurous eaters. Enjoy your visit!
Always our favorite go to place for pork soup. Our family used to live in Korea, specifically Busan (this kind of food originates from there), so it was exciting to see and enjoy food we missed from there. It’s pretty close to what you would eat in South Korea, Busan! Anyways, if you’re looking to find something with pork soup (+ Korean sausages) and great kimchi this place is perfect.
Gopchang, daechange is what has me coming back for more. I love how it includes rice balls with it. After we eat about two of the rice balls, I regret not saving it and making fried rice with the leftover gopchang and daechange. One day when I'm there I shall remember. Bossam was really good. I love how it was presented in a wooden box. It says to leave it close so it can steam for a certain amount of time (I forgot), but I suggest not going by the time they say. I would steam it for less because the veggies were overcooked. Other than that, it was really good
Its our second time here. We love the food!
We ordered the spicy pork soup and the spicy beef soup, and they are both absolutely fire! It’s a famous Korean store, and the quality really meets our standards. Service is pretty good, and the food is delivered to the table quickly. Will come back again!
I visited Moobongri in Irvine and really enjoyed it! I had the Spicy Sundae Set (Korean blood sausage set meal), and it was delicious. The flavors were rich and comforting. I actually recommend trying it without adding shrimp sauce — it tastes cleaner and more balanced that way. Definitely a great spot for Korean comfort food in Irvine!
Party of 4 went for dinner on a Friday evening in October. We got there at 8:15pm and were seated immediately at a booth. We ordered the beef short rib hotpot, the octopus+seafood on iron plate dish, and fried dumplings. Everything was delicious and the quantity of food proved just right for the 4 of us. They moved us to a bigger table from the booth because we would have two cooking plates, and that was the right call. I especially liked the beef ribs. They served us each a bowl of rice and some shared kimchi. We stayed till 11, and were politely informed that they were then closing. Very good experience. Total before tips came to around 180 bucks.
The seafood hot pot was delicious, and the staff were very helpful with preparing everything for us. The blood sausage was also surprisingly good. Overall, a great dining experience—highly recommend!
The live octopus was so fresh, you could really taste the quality, and the bossam was moist, tender, and packed with flavor. Every side dish was clean, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the main dishes. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to linger, and the service was attentive and genuinely kind. It truly feels like one of Irvine’s hidden gems. I’m so glad I discovered this spot absolutely worth a visit
The menus are great! I tried the a1. a2, a3(spicy) menus and they were all good. I loved that K-pop musics are played! Sundae is served hot! ☺️💛
Absolutely love this place! The soondae and pork intestines are super tasty and clean, and the soup has amazing depth of flavor. Comforting, hearty, and totally hits the spot ,one of my go-to spots in Irvine! 🍲🔥
I was in Irvine for work, looked for the nearest restaurant and ended up ordering a takeout combo of grilled beef small intestine & beef omasum And it was mind-blowing! The omasum and beef intestines were so chewy, dipping it in their sweet-and-sour sauce was just divine!! And their soondae (Korean blood sausage) — I have no idea what secret recipe they use, but I swear it’s better than many I’ve had before. Soft and sticky in a good way, but not gummy, with an authentic pork blood flavor. Trust me this restaurant is totally worth it trying ☺️

Moobongri in Irvine is a great spot for fresh and flavorful Korean seafood! I tried their steamed seafood, and it was packed with a delicious mix of shellfish, squid, and other ocean delights, all cooked to perfection. The natural sweetness of the seafood really stood out, and the dipping sauces added a nice kick. The banchan was fresh and plentiful, and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you're a seafood lover looking for an authentic Korean experience, this place is definitely worth a visit!
Came here on a Sat Night for the raw octopus!!! Fun experience !! Got the soup combo which comes with the Soondae & Boilded Pork Meat Sampler as well ~ love it!
They served very delicious food as and the service is wonderful. The staff were so friendly and warm. We will definitely come back soon.

There are several Korean restaurants in Irvine that serve Soondaeguk, but I like Soondaeguk served at Moobongri Soondae the best! 👍
There are several Korean restaurants in Irvine that serve Soondaeguk, but I like Soondaeguk served at Moobongri Soondae the best! 👍 I like the basic taste of the soup, so I usually eat Sundaeguk without adding salt or pepper. The taste of Soondaeguk broth at Moobongri Soondae is really rich. It also has a lot of Soondae and meat in it, so I’m satisfied after eating a bowl of Soondaeguk. If you want to have Soondaeguk in Irvine, I highly recommend Moobongri Soondae.
When our family missed korean food, we're coming 무봉리 here. Food is always, especially 돼지국밥 is the best !!
So much good food, especially Spicy stir-fried Seafood with octopus was the best!!!!
If you're a seafood lover, Moobongri Irvine is a must-try! The steamed seafood platter was incredibly fresh, featuring abalone, octopus, clams, lobster, and shrimp—all cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich yet natural, allowing the seafood's sweetness to shine. The presentation was also impressive, with ingredients beautifully arranged in a wooden steamer. The addition of bok choy and mushrooms complemented the seafood well. Highly recommend this spot for an authentic and delicious seafood feast! Will definitely be coming back. 🦞🦪🔥
Eunmi was great and quick with our order. I got the A13 spicy beef noodles and it was delicious

I tried Haesintang for the first time, and it was such a revitalizing experience that I can confidently say this will now be my go-to nourishing dish. The flavors were vibrant and energizing, truly awakening both my senses and appetite. The generous combination of octopus, abalone, short ribs, chicken, and mushrooms was impressive from the moment it arrived. Each ingredient tasted exceptionally fresh. The octopus was tender and pleasantly chewy, the abalone delicately cooked, and the short ribs and chicken were simmered until the meat fell effortlessly off the bone. What stood out most was the broth. Rather than relying on heavy seasoning, it seemed to be crafted from natural ingredients, creating a deep yet clean flavor that beautifully tied everything together from start to finish. The staff were warm and attentive, kindly refilling side dishes throughout the meal. The highlight came at the end — rice cooked in the remaining broth to create a rich, comforting porridge. Even though I was already full, I couldn’t stop eating. Paired with crisp kimchi, it was the perfect finish. Despite the generous portions, the meal felt wholesome and easy to digest. In every aspect — quality, flavor, and service — it was outstanding. I would gladly return and enjoy this dish with my family again.
Intestines were so delicious. they're my favorite. large portions compared to other intestine places i’ve tried. Recommend!
The namesake dish (soondae) is very authentic, but an acquired taste. Probably best to get something else if you're not into Korean blood sausage. Broth is pretty good regardless. Side dishes were a bit lacking in variety and flavor.
This is a very sub-par location of Moobongri, extremely disappointing. The soondae portion is tiny. Just look at the picture! The banchan portion size is similarly disappointing. My 2y old alone was able to eat all the rice...... They rely on brand name and scarcity. I highly recommend skipping this location and going to other Moobongri locations (LA or especially Vegas) if you want soondae.
It will be very hard for me to recommend this place to friends and relatives. I don’t plan to revisit in the future. Despite the main dish being Gukbap which focuses on broth with rice, the amount of rice they provide you is too small. Even when dumping in the entire bowl of rice into main bowl, it’s nowhere to be seen on surface of broth and simply not enough portion. Maybe I visited at wrong time or too quiet time, the staff were inattentive and there were no refills of side dishes(put up a sign to self serve at least..) Soondae dishes were also quite small portion, too. Simply the size of soondaes are small to begin with. I didn’t get this type of service from Moobongri location in LA, but this place is just subpar. Stay away if you can. It’s in a decent location where you can pick and choose other Asian cuisines, so maybe you can pick alternative. Hope the management wakes up and addresses some of these things.
Don't bring more than 4 people. They'll make you wait forever because they can't figure out how to seat any party over 4 people whilst they seat everybody else and have us stand outside for an hour. The employees are very unhelpful and just overwhelmed for some reason. Won't be bringing anybody here.
I'm so mad I didn't take any pictures! I picked this place because of all the great reviews, but I am NEVER coming back. The food was horrible! The blood sausage tasted like chewing on a rubber band, and that thing they served with it (no idea what it's called) smelled so bad — like it had been sitting around forever. We couldn't even take a second bite. The potato and pork rib soup looked like someone had already eaten half of it. And the cheesy pork cutlet? Straight up smelled spoiled! To make it worse, there were flies buzzing around our table the whole time. The waitress actually had the nerve to offer us two free sodas if I’d write two good reviews for them. At first I said okay, but after trying the food, I told her I’d just pay for the drinks. We still left an 18% tip to be polite… but honestly, what a disgusting experience.
Extremely disappointed and shocked by the complete lack of professionalism and safety awareness at this restaurant. One of the servers accidentally poured a full spoon of boiling hot oil onto a guest’s arm — the oil was literally still bubbling — yet there was no immediate reaction, no apology, and no basic first-aid response. The server just kept serving food as if nothing had happened. When we brought this up to the manager, the attitude was equally indifferent and dismissive. There was no genuine apology, no offer to help, and not even the slightest sign of concern for the injury. This level of negligence is absolutely unacceptable for any restaurant that serves hot dishes. If you care about basic safety and respect for customers, I strongly advise staying away from this place.
My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. Upon entering, a staff member rudely asked me to sign a book outside without any explanation. After signing and waiting outside for ten minutes, no one attended to us. I went inside and stood for two minutes, but the staff only glanced at me without offering any assistance or explanation. When I asked a server how long we needed to wait, they ignored me, walked away, and later returned to curtly say, “You have to wait outside, we still have no seats.” The service was unprofessional, lacking basic courtesy and communication. I felt disrespected and would not recommend this place. Improvements in customer service are urgently needed.
