SO fun!! They were so nice and fairly priced!
The Yucatana conch was the stand out from our dinner, but everything we had was delicious. The owners were really friendly and accommodating to our large group
Thank you to Gabriel for the great service. Lots of food
Great food! Roberto’s service was amazing!
Fantastic experience! Welcomed with a margarita between locals, had fantastic talks with the owner and his family. Last but not least, food was also on point. Try the shrimp soup.
Best burrito I have in my life and I’m a chef… Seriously
La patrona food was great I had the Pollo & Victoria service was great definitely will be back when I visit Isla again...
We went to try the breakfasts, avocado toast and barbacoa tacos, it was delicious, the place is very clean and the staff very friendly, I would come back 100%.
Cake in the rain and they gave us blanket ponchos!! Loved it here, definitely worth venturing off from the downtown area!
One of the best mojito I've ever had. Gabby was great.
Good food, nice dance music, and friendly service. I like it!
We loved this place. We had been walking around for quite awhile and saw their sign for COLD BEER. Sounds good, and it was! very cold and refreshing. We sat along the bar and met the very friendly Sara, who turned out to be the Boss Lady Owner. She was great and we really wish her success. We did not eat, but the beer is icy cold. The bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. Overall a nice place and we will go back upon our return to the island. I'd recommend this restaurant & bar.
Le service par Gaby etait excellent! Elle est très sympathique! ! C est un endroit à visiter!
Love this place! Local great food, lovely family!
This place has probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had in my life!! The drinks are fantastic too! The staff is incredibly friendly too. 🩷
Amazing! We were driving in the rain and we were cold and we stopped and they gave us blankets! Who does that?
Everything was awesome! Great margarita, great food, and great bartender!
Had heard a few reviews before we came to Isla mid February. During a day out on the golf cart we stopped in (after lunch I might add) but still wanted to try their tacos. Ivan greeted us immediately and told us about his favorite menu items. We split the steak tacos and they were fantastic! I wish I was hungrier at the time to try more but will definitely be back. The location is cute and of course with the owners of Inkaholics at the helm you know the decor and murals on the wall are 10/10. They have a cute upstairs area and I'm sure it's so pretty to eat here for dinner at night! Drinks were tasty, we had a cucumber watermelon margarita and they added a touch of jalapeño to mine. I'm already counting down the days to go back!
We enjoyed our meal from start to finish! The seafood toast was sensational, the whole red snapper was great, and the garlic mojo octopus was delicious. The cocktails were wonderful and had great options, and Roma our waiter was lovely. It’s closer to American prices, but delicious.
We are staying just down the street and found this place by accident, and we're glad we did. We've came 2 nights in a row so far, and really enjoy. Esteban "Escobar" is a super good guy, very personable, and the drinks are phenomenal. So glad we find this hidden gem. Give them a try!!!
Great atmosphere where many locals hang out, and far away from the traffic and tourist bustle of Isla Mujeres Centro. Operated by a family that has lived and worked on the island for several generations. Prices are similar to most other restaurants on the island. We loved the flank steak quesadilla, shrimp tacos, and chicken tacos. The service was friendly and we felt especially taken care of upon our second and third visits. Thank you, Roberto & Felipe!
We had a delicious meal tonight of Catch of the Day (Red Snapper) and fish ceviche. Juan was very attentive and has good English, is efficient and friendly. The breeze on the second floor was a nice respite. Tip of 15% is automatically calculated on the bill and the waiter noted it was optional.
A very welcome discovery! If you're traveling about the island, you should plan this restaurant as a destination as you're working your way towards the middle of the island. The restaurant is very well kept, very clean, the bathrooms are amazing, and the food is good. Another important point is that the restaurant was quiet and you could carry on a conversation. Not packed by teaming crowds! Or the ubiquitous jukebox of noise. A welcome respite. The staff is outstanding with excellent grasp of English. I had a chicken burrito which was very satisfying. My only regret is that I forgot to take photos! Will definitely return.

Merci beaucoup ! 🙏🏻
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant and couldn’t be happier with our visit. We came as a group of six and tried the steak nachos, chicken tenders, a beef burger, two crispy chicken burgers, and the mixed tacos — and honestly, everything was absolutely outstanding. The food was next level: fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. A special shout-out to Roberto, who was an incredible host and made the whole evening even more memorable. He even let us try his delicious homemade sauce.Great food, warm hospitality, and a fantastic atmosphere — we highly recommend this place
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stumbled upon La Patrona Restaurante our very first night on vacation and couldn’t have been happier. We were welcomed by Roberto as if we’d been friends for years. He let me practice my Spanish with him and was genuinely kind, patient, and helpful. You can tell the community really loves and respects him — everyone knows Roberto, and it shows. The beer was ice cold, and my wife loved every single drink we ordered. Prices were great, and we learned about their amazing bucket deal: 10 beers for 250 pesos — unbeatable. My wife tried several different cocktails and shots and loved them all. While we didn’t dive too deep into the food menu ourselves, every time we saw food coming out to other tables the portions looked huge and everything smelled absolutely delicious. It quickly became our go-to spot every night after dinner — comfy vibes, relaxed atmosphere, and always welcoming. Each night felt cozy, but Sunday really kicked it up a notch with karaoke night. The place was packed, lively, and so much fun. Everyone in the bar was incredibly friendly and welcoming to our group, like we’d all been friends forever. We will definitely be back next time we’re on Isla Mujeres. Thank you, Roberto, for everything — you made our trip even better.
Super endroit !
This is a very small local place. It’s one of the few bars open in the area on Sundays, so very crowded and was down to one flavor of beer on Monday evening. The very friendly bartender was also the waiter so service was slower, but we are on vacation so it was fine. He had a party of 5 who had loved the food so much on Sunday, they came back on Monday. We had excellent guacamole and my wife had a wonderful chicken burrito and I had the best shrimp tacos I have ever tasted. If you want local, unpretentious, fabulous food with amazingly friendly service, don’t miss la patrona!
Roberto’s La Patrona Restaurante is by far our favorite place on our recent 5 night trip to Isla. We found it the first night of our trip and I’m so glad we did. Food, drink and atmosphere are amazing. The locals are extremely welcoming and kind as long as you are respectful of their space. It is their home! ❤️ We will definitely be back on our next Isla trip. Thank you, Roberto and Family!!!!

Es increíble, ya manejan desayunos!!! Y estan muy ricos 😍
Excelente servicio, comida deliciosa. ☺️
This place is amazing. All the 1 or 2 star reviews are written by people that either dont know how food should taste or how Mexican hospitality is. The owner is incredible. The food is delicious. And the staff are amazing. The reason we came to eat here is because we loved the responses given to negative reviews. As a European, its always easy to read reviews written by people from a certain country expecting the same style of service as they're used to. But you ain't in your "homeland". Live a little. Laugh with the staff. ENJOY THE VIBE of a great place with amazing burritos, octopus tacos and everything else they have to offer. But remember, you're not at home. So if you want the same things you get at home, STAY AT HOME! Gracious para todos. ❤️
Gabby made the best Mojita my husband has had! I had a mango margarita and it was delicious! We sat on swings near the street. Cool vibe, great drinks!
We had such a great time at this place! All we wanted was some good tacos, bomb guacamole, and killer margaritas. Felipe and Stephanie totally delivered. The tastiest wahoo and snapper fish tacos, octopus and lobster tacos were perfection; better to order a few and share. Guac was on another level. Place is super clean. Chill atmosphere. Service and attention were beyond. This place is a must if you're looking for excellent, simple, tasty, Mexican eats. And drinks!
What a great find we happened upon today for lunch! They have a small outside bar that was VERY well stocked with premium spirits and manned by Francisco who provided excellent service. We went here primarily because they accept credit cards, something that has become a rarity on the island, even though they charge 5%, it was well worth it. Francisco made us a couple of Red Sangrias to start which were done very well, not too sweet and with a bit of spice. We ordered the classic nachos which were way more than we expected and quite enjoyable. The chef was working on a new Caprese appetizer and sent an order out for us to try and it was outstanding, something I would definitely order. I had the Chicken Tacos which came with a spicy Salsa Verde and sour cream...tasty. My wife had the Mac & Cheese with Chicken which was outstanding with a nice garlic cream sauce. Francisco was outstanding as was Paco the Manager. Thank you guys for making this a great experience, best food we've had on Isla Mujeres!
Unbelievable quantity and great food I had Nachos with sliced steak and I asked for half shrimp as well My wife ordered chicken fingers and fries Both were enough to feed two or three easy
Such a cute, colorful place that oozes charm! Our waiter was attentive and kept climbing the stairs to check on us. The downstairs has an outdoor bar and an air conditioned room. The upstairs is an open air room that overlooks the street below. The bright murals are fun and cheery! The food was good, but not outstanding. We didn’t order drinks so can’t comment on those.
This was a very disappointing experience and a review I am very sorry to have to write….but I review every place we visit whether good or bad. I typically do so via Trip Advisor but this restaurant i…
Was a great experience until we were asked to pay 8% credit card fee. Which was a first for us of all the places we’ve been to. When we pressed he dropped it to 6, which was still high. That mostly annoyed us. Service was great. That was just a bit frustrating. It was one of the more expensive places we’ve been, Bang for buck, we got more at other places. Also the one gentlemen who charged us the CC fee lit and smoked a cigarette inside 🤮 Food was good service was good.
They are just overwhelmed. The service is really bad! Sorry guys. We were 7 people- 3 ordered food the other drinks. There were just another table. They messed and mixed up all the orders and came to apologize every 5 min. We were there for 2h - for 3 easy dishes. It’s too expensive as well but the food was „okay“. The table next to us left as well because it took too long. Too bad you have the same name as „Tacos La Patrona“ which is located at the beach - it’s not the same! We won’t come back.
Very disappointing, food was very good. But all around very bad experience though. Service took an hour for a simple two eggs. I love myself a family restaurant but this was as if I was inside of their home with their baby crying. The alleyway next to it is sketchy. And finally, we discovered at the end that they have two menus, one for tourists and one for locals. The one for tourists is 2-3x more expensive (except the drinks one, that one is the exact same). We asked for the rectified price and they admitted to it being a tourist menu and said that’s just how it is. I’d recommend for the food since it was good but would not go back out of principle
This was a very disappointing experience and a review I am very sorry to have to write….but I review every place we visit whether good or bad. I typically do so via Trip Advisor but this restaurant is not on there yet. I’ve written hundreds and hundreds of reviews…most are overwhelmingly positive..just so you understand I am not some troll bashing this place. I had high hopes after seeing some others comment on various FB groups but after visiting I’m only left with regret that I wasted one of our meals here when this island has the most amazing eating establishments. So, we sat upstairs and I was super excited bc this place is as cute as they come. The young man who waited on us was adorable…sooooo nice. Upon his recommendation, we ordered mango mojitos and were splitting an order of the queso birria tacos. It took quite a while to get the mojitos. They were pretty good but I did not see or taste any mango in them. No biggie. Then come the tacos. They looked great on the plate. First bite was a little ok. Second bite I found myself unable to get my teeth through and then I saw why..there was a huge…and I mean HUGE piece of fat or a tendon or something that filled up over half of that taco. I could not believe that the kitchen could miss that and it screamed low quality control. I looked in the 3/4 of the remaining taco on my plate and saw no edible meat. I was done. Then, my husband, who had eaten about half of his taco said his was full of fat…..and that was all we ate. 1 but for me and 1/2 a taco for him. And then we waited…and waited….and waited..and finally our server came to check on us and I showed him what was found in my taco and we told him we couldn’t eat them. He said he’d see what he could go and he took them away. Then we waited and waited and waited and he never came back…finally, we went downstairs and stood at the bar. When he comes back he tells us the owner is willing to give us half off. We didn’t think we should pay for any of that nasty meal, but we just wanted to get out of there so we did not argue and we told him it was fine. We waited for a bit longer and he came back with our check. They had reduced the bill by half..so half off the drinks and the uneaten tacos. Mathematically, this was a bigger discount than if they’d only charged us for the drinks so in the end it was right-ish. Not sure if that’s how they intended it to be or not. We still tipped the server and he looked shocked that we did…he wasn’t efficient but he was kind and I know others have had good experiences here so it had to be an off night. I just wish I had a do over that night to spend our time elsewhere:(
Comida.- papas fritas termino medio, alitas y boneles igual... Salsa igual...
The place itself isn’t bad, but I get the impression that the prices are very high for the type of restaurant it is. Margarita 200, mojito 180 pesos — prices you’d expect from luxury restaurants or hotels. Neither my girlfriend nor I could taste even the slightest hint of alcohol in the drinks. The food prices are definitely higher than in similar or even slightly better restaurants. We decided to finish our drinks and leave without ordering any food. They asked us why, and I replied that the prices were very high and the cocktails didn’t contain the proper amount of alcohol. They got offended, almost mocking us, saying that I should have told them and they would have added more alcohol. In our opinion, it’s quite possible that there are two different menus — one for locals and one for tourists. We were the only customers in the place. Don’t trust all the 5-star reviews; they smell fake. The place definitely doesn’t deserve a 4.7 average rating. Look elsewhere — there are certainly better options. Also, the service is very slow. This is a review done after staying 25 days in many different maxian location.
