Opinions de Milkstand Breakfast & Lunch Ithaca
I throughly enjoyed my breakfast this morning at the Milkstand Restaurant! I have never felt so satisfied by a breakfast meal than I did here. I ordered the Avocado Toast which had a delicious assortment of peppers and onions on top with a sprinkle of Everything Bagel seasoning. It was the perfect combination of tastes! I also ordered a side of eggs, fruit, and bacon, which came with complimentary mini hash browns. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for your Ithaca breakfast or brunch!
My boyfriend and I went for my birthday brunch and it was amazing! I was not expecting the portion sizes being decently big. I ended up getting the eggs Benedict and Belgium waffle, both were so delicious and in the end I was full but not fall over sickly full, a satisfying full and loved it. Parking was a bit difficult we had to park around the corner but wasn’t a far walk and ended up taking a walk in the nearby park while we waited.
The aesthetic of this place is to die for. IT'S SO STINKING CUTE!!!! The staff were also very sweet and fabulous, and the coffee and breakfast were delicious. Hope to go again soon!! <3
We stopped in for my birthday breakfast and I am so happy we did!!! The charm of this place is undeniable. We decided to get several entrees and share everything and I truly cannot recommend this enough! We had the Chocolate and Strawberry Waffles, The Jalapeño Chicken and Waffles, chocolate and Banana Crepe and Biscuits and Gravy and I can’t even pick a favorite- they’re all perfect. Our server, Fio, was the absolute best too- so cheerful and fun. We adored our experience here and I’m so grateful for the great birthday start!
Drove by this place on the way up to the lake and came back later to give it a try. What a great place. The food is fresh made and delicious. The staff and servers were very friendly. The interior is spacious and bright and very clean. Would highly recommend!
An awesome place in Ithaca! I ate several times here already after they opened a few weeks ago! The waffle was so gooooooood! The other day we ate the salmon risotto, the steak frites, tacos, and salad! They were all excellent and yummy! I love the clean sophisticated interior as well. The perfect place with friends or eat whenever! I also love the fact their opening hours are long, so I can eat anytime of the day because my meal time isn't regular and sometimes it's hard to find a decent place to eat in between dinner or lunchtime. RECOMMEND THIS PLACE 100% :)
This is likely the best brunch place I've ever gone to. The food was great, the Bloody Mary was excellent, and the service could not have been better. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.
We have gone twice. Both times the place was packed . They did so well managing time ..we got in sooner than expected. And definitely worth the short wait.
Food AND COFFEE was great! Ambiance was perfect! And we had the best server. Fiorella is AMAZING!!
First time guest, and will now be coming back every time we visit. We got Berry crepes, and the Southern comfort breakfast. Everything came out so quickly, also had the house blend coffee and a latte (a perfect latte may I add) The music was perfect also, for the atmosphere and wasn't loud and it was perfectly set to background level. Thanks y'all for an amazing delicious and filling breakfast!
Super cool local spot. We love to find local places when we travel and this one did not disappoint. Try the waffles or the Crepes! Several creative menu items as well as the Classics.
We went here with our 3 young daughters during their opening week. The atmosphere is awesome. The staff were very friendly and professional. We are going to try them again in a month or so once they’re a bit more in the swing of things. The food has great potential and I am hopeful the business will take off!
Our server Fio was the best!! Her service was beyond great, she really took care of us and made sure everything was good! Definitely would recommend her service to everyone that goes there!
Love this place! Cute atmosphere, good food, and friendly staff! When I come to visit my brother we almost always come here! This place is POPULAR though and as a kind suggestion I think the restaurant would benefit a lot from some simple noise cancelling materials built into the booths or walls. Overall great place and will be going back on my next trip to Ithaca :)
We had avocado toasts and sweet garlic chicken waffles. The avocado toasts came with a small side salad; the presentation was beautiful. However, there’s no dressing for the salad. The chicken waffle came with two small sauce containers, one maple syrup and one sweet garlic sauce. Don’t make the mistake I made; I wasn’t aware that they are two different sauces. The service was great and the staff friendly.
10/10 recommend. The place is really chic, friendly staff, clean, fast service, and the food was delicious! The price was very reasonable! I’ll be coming back the next time I’m in Ithaca.
Went here for brunch on a weekday, and the place was buzzing! We loved the ambience and the clean design of the place. The hostess and our server, Quinn, were very attentive and friendly. We ordered the vegan chorizo skillet and the huevos rancheros, which were both amazing! You can see from the pictures that we couldn’t get enough…not a crumb wasted! But the highlight for me was the Sriracha Agave Fried Brussels sprouts and waffles. Who knew that could be a combination?!!! Not only did that dish see the same fate as the rest of our order (wiped clean), but I couldn’t help telling all my friends about the amazing meal and have been dreaming of the dish all week. If you care about great ambience, high quality food, wonderful service and a unique menu, this place is a MUST visit.
Everything was delicious! We stopped here while visiting Ithaca and I could not get enough! I got the Strawberry Chocolate Waffles and my boyfriend got the Chicken & Waffles and we both agreed that it was the best meal of our trip! The waffles were super light and airy, and had great flavor, they paired really well with the syrup provided. The Latte I had was amazing, it was super foamy (which I love) and had the best flavor, it was not overwhelmingly sweet, not too much milk, and not an overpowering coffee flavor, it was a perfect balance of everything. I even stopped back again the next day to get another latte before hitting the road because it was just so good. The girls who worked there were all so amazing, they were extremely friendly and super attentive. I cannot remember the waitresses name who took care of us, but she was amazing! We will definitely return next time we come to Ithaca!
Wow! Busy busy, but the food was worth it. They took our number down and the wait was a bit backed up, so we just waited in the car for them to call. 30-35 min wait. I ordered the Arancini Salad, it just really tasted like a side on your salad. Berry cheesecake crepes, delicious should have been all I ordered. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and our friend ordered the BLT. I'd say the Berry Cheesecake Crepes was the most worth the price the flavor was really good. The service was amazing, the staff was kind. I might go back but it won't be for a while.
Milkstand is amazing - it hits every time! Everyone I’ve met who works there is so kind and pleasant. I had family visiting from out of town, and we loved it so much we ended up going twice during their trip. We were lucky enough to have Jennifer both times, and she was absolutely wonderful! So lovely and thoughtful. Two of us split an eggs benedict, and she even divided the last hash brown perfectly down the middle! Adorable and so considerate. Can’t wait to come back!
Parking pickings are slim for this place, but when you get in, it's easy to see why. The place was absolutely packed, with a line of people waiting for a table. So you know it's gotta be good, right? The vintage vibe is really nice, but the food and drinks are so much better. Looking at the menu alone, you can tell this place has good taste, variety, and style. They really do. I had the cappuccino to drink, and it was so smooth that I didn't even need sugar. For brunch, I ordered the sweet garlic chicken and waffles, which are OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! They were just about everything I'd hoped they'd be. Maybe I wish the sauce had been a little thicker so it could be used to coat the chicken, rather than a liquid, but at least the flavor was GREAT. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. I know where I'm having brunch when I come to Ithaca. Right here!!
Top notch breakfast spot, gem 💎 in Ithaca. Very cute inside and clean. My favorite thing about this place is the way it was decorated, very aesthetic. Lots of food choices and variety. Eggs Benedict was amazing. Parking lot was on the smaller side so you might have to park on the side streets. I will have to come back to try the lunch menu.
We came here for brunch for our friend’s birthday and the food and ambiance was so good. Their menu is so well thought out, and the arancini’s were phenomenal. The best part, though, was the service. Our server Quinn was sooo sweet and had a big smile on her face despite our endless requests. She was amazing and gave us great service with the sweetest attitude. Although we live in Canada, I can’t wait to come back here next time I visit!
What a gem! I treated myself to a fabulous breakfast of brioche brie french toast with sweet fresh fruit. Waitress was so pleasant. Great start to my day.
Delicious brunch fare in a cozy setting. Sweets are delicious and not too sweet - Oreo milkshake tasted like cookies in slightly sweetened milk 🤤 we also had strawberry-chocolate and strawberry flavors. Chicken and waffles with popcorn chicken sized chicken for easy chowing. Sriracha flavor is definitely spicy and the type to linger! Got sauce on the side which eased the way. Veggie omelette was tasty and nutritious. Berry cheesecake crepe had just the right amount and texture of stuffing to not feel nauseated. Berry french toast had a very delicious berry sauce. Small line at 11:30am on a Saturday. Would most recommend the Oreo milkshake but everything was good (and we were hungry!)
Food was amazing and the service was even better than that! Stumbled upon this place while looking for lunch spots while road tripping from NYC to Niagara Falls. Reviews online were great and the place definitely lived up to them. I wish I remembered our server's name, but she was phenomenal! We'll definitely have to stop again on our trek back.
Edit: IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PLACES IN ITHACA. A MUST TRY. !!! Long story short..RUN to Milkstand! Amazing food. Amazing vibes. Amazing staff. Period. Long story: I tried the mozzarella sticks, burger, margherita flatbread pizza, steak frites, and chicken waffles. Each dish was clearly made with love and fresh ingredients. (Details to warm up the syrup for the waffles ?! Amazing.) The mozzarella cheese was gooey with a 10/10 cheese pull with my steak cooked to perfection! And their fries are so different I’ve never seen it anywhere. All the food was hot and to die for. I highly recommend going for dinner! Do I even have to talk about their perfect interior? A trendy spot to take a few (hundred) pictures with your friends under their neon light to brighten up your Insta feed. Ithaca needs a new trendy spot and I LOVE that they did a twist on a modern, upscale diner. A diner can be predictable and it’s exciting to see Milkstand upgrade a traditional environment into a modern, clean restaurant. Will be there time and time again! My new fav spot.
Stopped into the Milkstand Restaurant on our way though Ithaca, and wow am I glad we did! As soon as we entered, we were taken care of with a smile - quickly seated, great recommendations given, excellent food, all with a clean and bright atmosphere. Will definitely be stopping by again!
So we had an absolutely amazing time at this restaurant! We’re from out of state so when we first drove by we immediately thought “this place is super cute! But why is it empty? That’s a bad sign.” Boy were we wrong. We drove by at approximately 4. Didn’t realize this was only a breakfast and lunch spot. We went the next day craving a good breakfast and this place was packed! 20 minute wait, but the smells coming out of that place we knew it was worth it and I would even wait an hour if my hunger could handle it. Unfortunately I forget our fabulous waitresses name 😭 It started with an F and she was from the Bronx. But she was fast, efficient, and overall super friendly. Thanks for giving us an incredible experience and us jersyians will be back for not only the food. But for “F” and her dope Casio watch.
We avoid the Milkstand on weekends because it draws such a crowd, and the last thing I want to do while hungry is wait a half hour to be seated. But during the week? I walk in and I'm seated immediately. In terms of noise: weekends it's incredibly loud but during weekdays, it's quiet. This is my favorite breakfast location. I have yet to order something that I didn't enjoy. The staff are amazing, kind, and fun, as well. The atmosphere is bright but not blinding--like a soft morning sunshine rather than being forced to be awake--which is what I look for when I'm getting breakfast foods. But it transitions easily into other times of day. It's always clean, too, including the bathrooms. I love their food and always look forward to "next time" when I can et there again. :)
Breakfast options for vegetarians and vegans are great! The vegan breakfast skillet and falafel salad are my favorites. I love coming here on my birthday to get a crepe. The booths are very cozy and the vibe is great. Service was fast on a weekday. It can get busy on the weekends, as it should since it’s so tasty! Keep up the great work. Thank you Milkstand team.
Good quality food, clean throughout and convenient location. I especially love the staff here and enjoy the menu with the breakfast and lunch choices all available during their open hours. I've dined here often. Staff is very kind, attentive and happy to be there. Today my phone was left behind but found outside in the snow. They emailed me promptly and cleaned/dried my phone with great care. Very much appreciated!!
Stopped in for breakfast today and was very impressed with the food. The piglet skillet was fantastic, eggs nice and fluffy, sausage was nicely seasoned. Omelette was light and cooked perfectly. The berry crepe was truly delicious. Berries nice and fresh, nice little hit of lemon. My only issue, was a glass of Milk was not on the menu. And considering the name, a bit disappointing.
I live in Ithaca and couple of friends suggested that I try the Milkstand. I loved it! Now I and a number of friends go every week. It has a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly, professional, and efficient. The food is to die for. I highly recommend it!
This place opened sometime in 2025, is very popular can be hard to get into when the schools are in session, and is well worth the wait. The food tastes great and the portions are generous. Pricing is very on par with other similar types of restaurants. At times it seems like the wait staff is understaffed as you can wait for a refill, but it didn't detract from the experience. Go enjoy it's worth it.
Milkstand is always such a good time with amazing food and very attentive staff. We come here once a qeek for a brunch date, and whenever friends want to go out we suggest this place & they love it too! Even on their busiest, most slammed days, the food is always hot & tasty and the staff always have a smile on their face. Here's too many more visits ✨
Milkstand in Ithaca, NY was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent and friendly, making the experience feel welcoming from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing, with thoughtful details that made the space really enjoyable to be in. The food was fantastic, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Overall a very good experience and a place I would happily return to and recommend to others!
Delicious and great service. Got the eggs Benedict because the croissant sounded interesting - it was good, but I think I still prefer English muffins. The sriracha chicken is like a cross between buffalo wings and sesame chicken. My wife got a savory crepe which was tasty and chock full of veggies.
Lovely place, perfect for brunch. I ordered a dish from lunch menu (turkey club sandwiches). They were tasty, turkey meat was fresh and bacon was cooked well. Loved the vegetables inside too. Moreover, they serve french fries with sandwiches, pretty big portion. They have sauces for different dishes, used ketchup for my french fries. Also loved a little pickle. My wife ordered a breakfast item: Brie French Brioche, and it was massive and tasty too. Moreover, they also gave a cup of syrup, which was nice. I didn't have a drink, but she had a coffee and liked it. Definitely worth a visit.
My husband and I had breakfast there on Halloween. We were seated quickly, the waitstaff were very polite and punctual. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and it was absolutely delicious. The Ham and Swiss cheese crepe I am still salivating over. We will definitely continue to drive the 40 minutes to get there every time.
This was our first stop on our trip to Ithaca and it was the perfect start to our trip. From the atmosphere, to the friendly staff and the amazing food...5 stars across the board. The atmosphere is a combination of 70s diner but with an add of updated sophisticated vibe with the rose gold lighting fixtures and the ceiling details. The food was absolutely amazing. The menu has a variety of options to choose from for anyone. The hostess was charming and quick to greet us at the door. And our server, she was an absolute delight. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Ithaca.
By far the best diner experience I have ever had in all my travels. We were transported back in time with the music and atmosphere topped with the beautiful and polite waitress by the name of Quin. She was very attentive to our needs providing a memorable service by which I will return again.
The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The service was incredible. From the second I walked in until I left I felt so comfortable and welcomed. The aesthetic is beautiful. Reminds me of a classic 40s dinner but still very stylish. I traveled from Rochester to try to baked apple pancake and I was not disappointed. Well worth the travels !! Will be returning again very soon
Visited Ithaca for the first time and got an opportunity to try this place out ! This place has to be one of my best breakfast places I’ve ever been to ! The place is pretty and the people were kind. Must try their pancakes,Waffles with fried chicken, burgers. Their egg florentine crepe was to die for !!!Each and every dish was delicious.
Such a memorable, elevated Brunch and Breakfast area!! Milkstand offers a refreshing twist on American comfort classics, elevated through thoughtful presentation and creative flavor combinations. The Apple pancakes were so delicious offering such generous portions and strong cinnamon apple seasonings. I also savored the avocado toast, chicken and waffles and vegan chorizo skillet. Milkstand has such friendly interactions towards their dietary restrictions and is a standout gem in the Ithaca dining scene!!
This is an adorable restaurant in Ithaca, such simple and elegant decor with delicious food and friendly service. I ordered the Southern Comfort breakfast/brunch item. It had a nice flavor, you get a peppery bite in the sausage gravy. The sausage links, egg, and grits were very tasty. I would recommend for anyone ordering this to get a side of toast or something (they don’t have biscuits listed in their menu) to sop up the gravy. That was the only thing this dish was missing. Otherwise l, it was great. I ordered toast with mine.
Very tasty! Was busy during lunch so too some time. Would be cool if they had traditional diner counter seating.
Great ambiance, amazing staff, not a lot of options on the menu. I'm from Philly, and I've realized the more I travel to different places. Once you leave the larger towns, your dietary restrictions are void. I don't eat pork, and most of these small towns only have pork and no substitutions. It's annoying but okay. I had the brioche toast, and it was very good but too sweet for me. I took four bites and left.
Great contemporary "greasy spoon" diner (meant in the most affectionate way). We had a really lovely time here! Love the service and atmosphere. The menu was thoughtful and creative; the food was delicious but also the quality was nothing super noteworthy in itself--just solid "good."
I really enjoyed it, surprisingly large portions and aesthetically pleasing. The only problem was that the salad had poor quality, underripe tomatoes right in the height of tomato season. The salad also had carrots, which were not listed, and had to be picked out due to an allergy. But the salmon was delicious, and the chicken and waffles were excellent. Also the mozzarella sticks were the best I've ever had.
Did was great. Eggs were fluffy and amazingly seasoned. Chorizo skillet.. chef's kiss. And the honey butter french toast was nothing short of incredible. Service started great but died down quickly. Coffee refill was not to be had. Waited forever for the bill. Though the server left a little card reader to pay on our own. That helped.
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile now but every time I’ve driven by it’s packed. The parking lot had two spots open so we stopped in for breakfast after errands. The hostess was quick to seat us, giving us an option in our preference of seating. The decor is trendy and instagram backdrop worthy. It was nice to see the old coolers repurposed into the layout. It was a nice way to reveal the previous life of being Byrne Dairy. The menu was easy to navigate. Our waitress brought us over ice cold waters immediately after we were seated. These guys are very efficient and all work so well together. We asked what the waitress recommendations were and she said immediately the chicken and waffles. The coffee was a perfect temperature, we also ordered mimosas that were delicious. The chicken and waffle dish was definitely a good choice. The best I’ve ever had. The only thing Preventing the fifth star is that the pepper shaker only had one hole so it took forever to season the plate and they don’t offer what surrounding brunch venues do, a two for one or bottomless mimosas or Bloody Marys. Great place- will definitely be back and spread the word about the jalapeño chicken and waffles!
The vibe here is awesome. Love the 60s-70s music. Super chic inside. The wait staffs energy didn't match the vibe but they were still friendly. I wish there were more unique menu options. We ordered the Brie Stuffed Brioche, Sriracha Brussels sprouts and fish tacos. The Brioche was a bite dry for my liking. Not as impressive as I thought it'd be but still okay. The fish tacos lacked flavor and definitely had more veggies than fish, and barely any mango sauce. The rice that it came with was good. Would we go here again? Maybe.
The food kinda sucks, tried it 4 times and it is like every other restaurant that uses sysco as a wholesaler (can't confirm they use sysco, that's just the vibe). The atmosphere, staff, and wait time are all great! My waitress was helpful when I told her I had a gluten allergy. If you want to socialize or "go out" for a reasonable cost this is the place. If you want a delicious meal, this is not the place. Bonus, they do mimosas!!!!
We got the Onion Rings, a BLT, and a Fried Chicken Sandwich that both came with fries. The onion rings were really, really good along with the fries. I was told that the sauce that came in the Fried Chicken Sandwich made it even better. My BLT bread was more than a little burnt which made me not be able to taste the Sourdough bread. They were generous though with the bacon. The soda also tasted like sink water so we just stuck with ordering two waters after. The atmosphere was cute and we didn’t wait long to get seated. We didn’t get attended too much during our visit but since the atmosphere was nice it made waiting to get our boxes and check fine while we chatted. This is a cute date idea and family place but be wary because there’s always some sort of wait time which stopped us from coming multiple times before. They have a policy too when we called that they couldn’t tell us the wait time if we weren’t in the building. Overall, Milkstand is a cute place with a nice atmosphere and the side dishes are great.
The place was pretty HIP for the area, great crowd, mix of all age groups. The ambiance was 5/5, service was okay, the server was overwhelmed by our group of 7, food was lacklustre. Falafel platter: vinaigrette was tasteless Salmon: over cooked and the amount of pico was too little. Coffee: watered down/very light Overall, it's still worthy of a 4/5 because of everything else but the food. Wouldn't go back for the food.
Ambitious menu with gourmet touches. A tad pricey but excellent quality. The crepes are always outstanding. Today though I chose the cheddar cheese omelet. It was cooked to perfection but decidedly lacking in both cheese and flavor. The hash browns were frozen & greasy tasting. Nice bread for toast, but only one slice (all I need, but still). Pleasant atmosphere & wait staff. Don't be in a rush though.
Overall this place is great, but there's honestly room for improvement. The food was pretty damn good breakfast fare- I mean, where else in town are you getting Brie stuffed French toast? (You're not.) That said, the prices are nothing to scoff at. I know everything costs more these days, but it does feel like a premium for the locale. Only had breakfast items, but the flavors were good, elevated from a typical "diner". The atmosphere is interesting. Somehow modern and retro chic. Pretty cool and unique. Feels fresh. Not a typical diner ambience, in a good way. A major reason we'll be returning is the wait staff. Our server Quinn was exceptional! She was pleasant and attentive. She needs a gold star. Honestly the best table service I've had in Ithaca. ...on that note- whoever hired the "manager" could use a lesson in restaurant management. Seriously. His attitude is beyond unacceptable. To the point of making us uncomfortable enough to get up and leave., but I didn't want that to come back badly on our amazing server. Think I'm overreacting? Just look at the many other reviews saying the same thing. That guy is the wrong person for the job. To the owner- handle that promptly before you lose the valuable staff holding the place up.
Milkstand has been on my list to try for awhile! Stopped for lunch while running errands and so pleasantly surprised! Great vibes inside and out, good coffee, and a great eggs benedict. Served so quickly too! Perfect for a quick lunch, but I look forward to coming again and enjoying something more leisurely. Update: Went back for lunch and got chicken and waffles. Wish the chicken was bigger! Friend’s savory crepe just okay. Would try again for vibe and breakfast things.
I have tried this place twice now, because I really enjoyed the atmosphere my first time there. Sadly, both times the food was poor, especially for the price. I ordered the "Milkstand Breakfast" both times my eggs were undercooked and my steak was overcooked. I almost stopped in again, but I may try elsewhere today and come back at a later time.
My family and I dined for breakfast on Black Friday. Aesthetically pleasing, the former Byrne Dairy from this local growing up. I love that they kept the drink coolers!! Unfortunately we were not able to all sit at the same table (4 adults and 2 kids) but my uncle and I sat nearby. Service was fast and the food was tasty; the standout was the chocolate chip pancakes! My niece didn’t eat hers so I finished about half the plate. Yum! One of my companions had poached egg on top of her dish and it was too raw so she sent it back and got another. Overall a good experience.
Went to this place based on the reviews. I waited for over an hour to dine in. I was expecting something mindblowing looking at how packed the place was. To my surprise, things took a wrong turn. We were a group of three and none of us were impressed with the food. I requested medium rare cook on my steak and I got a piece of meat so chewy and over cooked, my knife gave up on it. The eggs were not even seasoned. The english muffin was as hard as a rock. The banana crepe was soaked in some chocolate syrup which tasted really bad. The menu wasn't cheap either. It was such a disappointing experience.
Place appears popular, but should get an award for being disorganized. They had us wait for over 60 minutes while 30% of tables inside are empty. They call people in by coming out to the parking lot and screaming out names. Many people leave after simply giving up. There is a decent number of options but the food is basic and without creative choices. You can get this anywhere and, likely, a lot faster.
Wish I could give a rating on the food. Exclaimed upon arrival how excited I was to try for the first time and heard great things. Waitress took our order after we sat for 10 minutes with no interaction. Waited 50 minutes as I’m seeing customers around me (who came in after my partner and I) receive their food I decide to say something. Just to find out they never sent our order to the kitchen. Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately will never be going back.
