Very good vegetarian restaurant. Indian, but also other meals from the world. I work very spiritual people here. This consciousness is very sensitive here. Smiling girls, constantly in a good mood. And very tasty meals. I love this restaurant
There is a special spiritual vibration in this place and the food is really good! I tried the Supreme sandwich and Beyond burger, both are very delicious!
I love Annam Brahma. I’m blessed to live nearby. The food is delicious, and the desserts are to die for.

A very quiet and peaceful place. The waitress is very nice and welcoming. The food is delicious.
Happened upon this restaurant a month after going vegetarian. It was the most luscious, hearty, and heartful meal I've had. Great service. Very interesting atmosphere.
The best restaurant in New York wether you’re vegetarian or not!
Very peaceful ambience. My favorite is the vegetable kabob and chapati roll-up. We had our Thanksgiving dinner here. The menu was satisfying and food was delicious.
Nice peaceful atmosphere with very clean good food. Waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and what was offered
Great food and place for family dining, office lunch, in between airport, jfk &LA Gdia, and home or pre/post movie, USTA, MLB. Extensive menu catering to lacto/ovo vegetarians, vegans, gluten free.Coming back from Hamptons? They are just off Grand Central and near Van Wyck.Bright cheerful atmosphere.
Great food. The tastiest, healthiest vegetarian and vegan options in the area. Eating here is an experience. Great service to add.
#vegan #samosa #dosa #veganveggiecurry #pappadam #darkbelgianchocolatecake My first time trying dosa and pappadam :) I like dosa more than pappadam, didn’t realize pappadam so crispy like chips 😆I was like what’s this flavor on pappadam so familiar?! The first moment I thought it’s rosemary then I realized it’s cumin :) Dipali means row of light 💡 thank you 😊 for letting me know people like you exist :) I see your cute 🥰 spirit :) you bring back a lot good memories I had in Oz thank you 😊
This restaurant was very bright and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very please with my vegetables lasagna. And since it was pie day, I finished with a delicious apple pie.
Great Indian food, great western food, but most of all, superb fake-meat options. The restaurant is decorated in an Indian style and is run by devoties of Sri Chinmoy. A fully vegetarian restaurant with a huge menu. Staff are very nice too!
I love Annam Brahma. Nice peaceful ambience, friendly staff and delicious nourishing food. My favorite dish is the spaghetti with meat balls (all vegetarian)
Great food and service. Both vegetarian and vegan options. Soothing pleasant atmosphere. Plan to go back soon.
Amazing food! Beautiful place with a soothing vibe. The staff are really kind and considerate.
This quaint restaurant always have great food. I have tried many of their food on the menu and each is delicious. I have at least one meal from this location, just about every week.
What a wonderful place. It's not just that the food was delicious, I really felt that the preparation and serving of it was done as an Act of Faith. Can't wait to go back, might be converted
The food is good vegetarian fare. Every day they make new meals as they don't serve food from the day before. The restaurant is owned by students of the Guru Sri Chinmoy and the restaurant is decorated with mementos of him.
Beautiful and peaceful atmosphere, very special place to have a great plate any time any day. The service is lovely and the prices are so affordable.
A delightful vegetarian restaurant with many flavorful choices. Curries are great. Helpful wait staff. Be ready to take a trip beyond.
The food quality and variety is great. My friends and I loved everything we ordered. The staff is very nice. Their warm smiles and down to earth hospitality was something that remained with us long after our dinner.
Very nice and tranquil atmosphere. The dishes we ordered were very tasty and nicely presented
Awesome. Lovely atmosphere, yummy food. Low prices! An oasis of good vibes. It's really a nice family place. A great way to celebrate a birthday or significant event. If you let them know, the staff joins in to make it a really special time. And they care about your needs. If you have any dietary issues I've watched them go out of their way to make the menu work. It's a soothing place to have some time alone and a fun place to share with others. Love it.
I love this restaurant. The food is so tasty, fresh and nourishing. The people who work there are extremely kind and friendly and really care about creating a special experience for customers. I am a big fan of the soups, curries, salads, dosas and chapatis. They also have fresh juices. The cakes are super special. I have really enjoyed the chocolate cake, Italian cheesecake and apple pie. The prices are amazingly reasonable given the quality of the food.
The best vegetarian food I've eaten. So much choice. I love the curry dosa. And mango Lassi is great. The Holy Cow is steamed veges with feta cheese, healthy and big portion. Desserts are so good too. They have different specials each day. Open for lunch and dinner. Great place for special occasions or dining alone. Friendly service.
The food was always good, but felt a little awkward going in there the first few times. Eventually came to love the peaceful environment that originally made me feel weird. The wait staff were lovely people, and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the meat(less)ball sub. It is fantastic.
I know ANNAM BRAHMA since 1984. Their vegetarian meals have been a life saver for all these years. Some American selections, tho mostly East Indian flavors. Yummy 😋 The menu is wonderful and reader friendly. Food is delicious...also their beverages . The menu can be adapted to children w/o a problem they do have high chairs. Handicap accessible, parking may be a challenge. You can also call for take away. Enjoy the food, they also have meditation. A lovely experience. Some retail available.
Amazing food!! The best we ever had in a restaurant.. The taste was so homemade and gave us immense satisfaction and content!!! Love it.. The place looks so beautiful.. Great for people who want to have vegetarian food in Jamaica.. We were dropping our family at JFK and were searching for a pure vegetarian Indian food.. and we hit a jackpot..
One of my favorite restaurants in the city, Annam Brahma offers an array of vegetarian Indian inspired cuisine, with freshness and quality in mind, at a reasonable price point. The atmosphere is very casual. and although the staff is pleasant, they aren't overly concerned with overselling the experience. They also offer daily specials of vegetarian food from other cultures on varying days of the week, such as Italian day. They're vegan cocoa cake is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend!
This place is a hidden jewel. Cannot recommend it enough. Very spiritual. Water fountain on one side, calm soothing music on another. Very humble wonderful staff, they make you feel like you're eating at their home and they're super graceful and hospitable hosts. Absolutely recommend this place, very different and interesting experience. P. S. They don't accept cards, it's cash only!
The staff was very pleasant. The food was the best I've ever had especially in transition to veganism. I highly recommend. You can order take-out or be transported to an oasis inside. Peace, Love & Light
My wife Ambika and I absolutely love this restaurant and it has become our place for serenity, tranquillity and well being. From the outstanding food to the amazing people, we make sure we come here often and frequently. The atmosphere is very welcoming and soothing and the service is fantastic and friendly. I cannot express how happy we are when we come here and we feel absolutely blessed to have Annam Brahma so close by. A must visit for everyone!
Still a great restaurant - the menu changed and prices are higher than a year ago, but service is now much more prompt and attentive (Spring 2023). I always feel good for the whole day after having lunch there with my elderly mother.
The best of the best. This place looks so unique in its design while posing a calm and a relaxing atmosphere. That's not the reasons why they take the cake. The food is always tasting like it was made by angels. So tasty and filling and even with the simplest dish. Its like they pray and chant special energy into the foods while cooking. You'll be pleased with how magical this place feels. Disney can take notes.
We had a beautiful experience. The food was delicious and fresh and healthy and healing. The serive was great everyone was so kind and friendly. I highly recommend and will be back
I have been dining at Annam Brahma for nearly 40 years. The food is always very fresh and perfectly prepared. They've maintained an admirable consistency over the years, thus never disappointing their customers. There are numerous vegetarian items on the menu as well as a variety of soups, salads, omelets and veggie burgers (which are pretty good). I recommend the "Chapatti Roll-Up". It's delicious. The restaurant is dedicated to the late Sri Chimnoy. His philosophical influence can be observed throughout the restaurant. The staff is always very friendly and helpful and the pricing is reasonable. Parking can be difficult. I highly recommend Annam Brahma.
I've been here dozens of times, and it's a must for vegetarians in Queens. The menu is very old-school, so don't expect anything trendy or elaborate, but do expect to receive warm service and good food in a tranquil setting.
Let me start by saying. I’ve been going to this restaurant about 20 years. This was one of my first experiences eating vegetarian. From the first day I loved this place. The Dahl soup , Soy meatball hero, Neatloaf with mushroom gravy, all the salads and dressing are amazing. The ladies are so helpful and always smiling. If you’re looking for some good vegetarian food this is definitely the place don’t hesitate try
The food is amazing. If you are craving an amazing vegetarian experience in a tranquil environment this is it. Everything on the menu is delicious and the meatloaf is outstanding. The mango lassi and carrot cake are guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth. Lots of love to Shefali, Pranika, Nishta and Deepali. God bless this place and make it prosperous. Thank you for an amazing night.
This place was simply amazing!! We had the Bhajii and Al Chop for appetizers and I had the soy tofu burger, Indian dal and a side of sautéed tofu while my mom had the griller. For dessert we had the Italian cheesecake and the vegan cocoa cake and it is an understatement to say the food was great!!! We loved everything we ordered, the waitress was really friendly and the atmosphere was peaceful and pure. I'm definitely going back!
Excellent service, food is very fresh, and the taste is also authentic. Too bad I couldn't take pictures. Just FYI they do not accept card.
For vegetarians and for seekers of fresh, healthy food this is restaurant is a gem. We had lunch here on a week day. The food was fresh (salad vegetables were as fresh as fresh can be), cooked right, accompanied with the right sides (the appetizers came with delectable chutneys) and the food was delicious. The service was courteous and efficient. Lots of choices for food and for drinks. Prices are very reasonable. We highly recommend this place.
The food is excellent and the service is exceptional. It's the best vegan restaurant in Queens. This makes it a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the best vegan cuisine in the area.
This is literally my go to spot whenever I need to recharge. It's such a peaceful atmosphere and everyone who works here is super sweet and the food is delicious! I don't know why there are $$$$ for this place when it's the exact opposite, $. The food is cheap, healthy and made with love. Enjoy!
I have been coming here with my parents since I was a child. The food is consistently very good. Beautiful music and ambience, kind staff. We even met Mr. Chinmoy here once many years ago.
Love love love this place. Peacful, and informative. You leave being inspired to live a better life. The food is holy. Prepared like how when hare Krishna devotee cook prasadam for Krishna. Just delicious and joyful in each bite. We ate Indian curries , and had the vegan cocoa for dessert. Classic classic classic
Excellent curry, rice and daal, among other things. Recommend the green chutney
Delicious food in a very zen setting. Long live the spirit of Sri Chinmoy.
A hidden gem in Queens. Food served with love is capable of healing, and this place qualifies. I plan to return soon. When you go there, leave your troubles outisde, clear your mind and heart, and enter with peace.
Delicious Indian vegetarian food also burgers, fries, salads really pretty much anything that person could want! And the dessert are to die for
One of my family's favorite vegetarian restaurants! The Samosas are my personal favorite. The vibe in there is very nice and calm with a stunning interior, soothing music, and ambient lighting. Overall a great place and not too expensive.
Very cool vegetarian spot in Queens. I ordered the samosa, masala dosa and potato-onion-cashew masala (curry with rice) and lentil soap. The lentil soap was so hearty, I believe there's coconut in it. The samosa was also not too greasy and very light, which I enjoyed. I particularly like the crunchyness of the rice and lentil crepe with the filling inside. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.
I've been waiting to come here for years. And it was well worth the wait. I had the Beyond burger with a mixed vegetable drink and the soup I had was called a sambhar. The place was really peaceful with the flute music in the background. They only accept cash and the Q65 bus stops right in front of the restaurant. I was so happy that I also took food to go for lunch tomorrow afternoon. I'll definitely come here on my days off from work.
People need to understand that eggs do not contain chicken embryo. A chicken drop an egg every month like how girls get their period. These eggs are not fertilized. You are not killing a baby chicken by eating eggs
Nice n clean Prices are fair. At times food takes a while and it's pretty no frills. Servers are nice.
Food is great and tastes different from other restaurants. Some of the dishes like sambhar idli can be bland for some people. I have tried saag paneer which was great.
A good place to explore vegetarian cuisine. Very comfortable, friendly and a feeling of family service. Only a minus star because it's a cash only business. Still, I'm a fan.
Decent vegetarian spot...i always get the falafel salad and it is excellent... Need to try something else. The dressing is nice and light with just enough flavor...Lassi is delicious as well. Greeted with great customer service every time.
Ok vegetarians be warned; they are ok but beware of this place...they serve real eggs to vegetarians who are not expecting their their so called omlettes are in fact real eggs (chicken embryos waiting to hatch containing a sentient life) and not scrambled tofu !
My rating would be 2.5 for this restaurant. The food was strictly okay. We ordered bhel puri, which was terrible and was not even the ones which is served generally. The dessert and vegan hot dog were decent. Atmosphere and service are nice.
As a sit down restaurant... 3.5stars ONLY measuring the food? 4.4stars Went today with my father and little sister. The food was good, well seasoned. Fresh. No problems there as you can see from the pictures. The service however... was kind. But messy. There were multiple mistakes. We ordered drinks. Got halfway through meals before WE realized we never got it. (You can even see only water in the pictures) The first check was incorrect. About half the actual price. I politely sent it back. I would not mention this. I was going to make this review without mentioning it... BUT I and my little sister ordered cake for dessert. The waiter asked if we wanted whipped cream. I decided NO. (My sister is a child) the waiter still added it to my check even tho I said NO 3times. He gave it to us anyway and charged me for it... Like I get doing something nice for a kid. But you can't take my NO, do it anyway and then charge me??? What? AND THEN THERE WAS NO WHIPPED CREAM IN THE BAG. This place would be great. IF they tightened that up. The cakes were great too. But I couldn't really enjoy it with that experience in mind... Place has potential but check check and double check everything...
The food was a little bland for my taste, as I'm more used to spicy Indian food. But it's not too say it wasn't good. They had a variety of dishes available. We started out with the mixed appetizer which was really good I then tried the veggie burger with fries.. My wife had "palak paneer" (spinich and Indian cheese). The mango lassi was oh so good. Id definitely go there again and try other stuff.
Holy hippie Indian blandness! Food was clean and without flavor. Staff was pleasant and there was an abundance of Sai Baba level “mysticism” but with some other fraud whose name escapes me. Enjoy or avoid as fits your fancy.
Was really busy that day, and we didn't mind the long wait as the place is lovely to be in, but simple vegetable kebob was very very oily. When rice on which it was served got soaked in oil. Would rather have smaller menu, than huge menu and trying to find what's good or not. On a side note, best masala chai I had since India.
The restaurant looks very outstanding inside and outside. Very peaceful place. till you start to ordering… the lady show up in a very nice traditional dress I love it but she forgot half of the order after she repeat it… It’s not a big deal when you waiting for your curry to your dosa (here not thin and crispy at all ) bring it by self and naan with butter was no butter. We didn’t feel the taste of India. That’s ok we like to try different flavors. But when we explain what we ordered and sent back the “wrong food” she started to scrolling her eyes. I wait for my wholesome potato with curry 15 min because she forgot this order too I didn’t make any complain. The twin burger was very delicious my son ordered I really like the “famous lentil soup” nothing else! Even we skipped the deserts for $80 it’s not worth it for one cooked potato a scoop of mashed veggies with rice. There are many great indian vegetarian restaurants, next time we be back to our favorites.
It was imitation Indian food,....I will never go back again and I'm Indian. I'm offended!!!! But let's leave on a positive note they didn't give us tap water and the egg plant was ok.
Awful! I should have been concerned when there were no Indian people working in the restaurant, instead white women dressed in Indian attire. Also when I called my order in, I asked for Cauliflower and potatoes I was told it there would be some chick peas in the dish. However when I got my dish there was absolutely no cauliflower or potatoes in the dish. Last, my nana was not made fresh but was warmed up instead. By the time I drove 15 mins home, it was hard a rock. They got me good:(
I ordered some food to try since it’s Indian based food and also vegetarian. But wow their food taste so bad it’s disgusting. They were nice and respectful but NEVER ORDERING ANY FOOD FROM THIS PLACE ITS HORRIBLE
I had bad experience with Annam brahma, dosa potato masala so dry and taste like not fresh, French fries 🍟 was just frozen from inside not fresh too the only thing is sitting arrangement is quite good and its expensive
If you want to taste some authentic spicy indian food , this is not the place. But if you wanna look at some funny weird guy’s (sri chinmoy) pictures lifting ridiculous weights( not in kilos but tons😬) go for it.
