Opinions de Sagar Chinese Jamaica
Every restaurant's service varies during the busy time. But we should always appreciate the service servers give us. Seeing the other reviews, I was disappointed. I visited today with my family, and the food was amazing, the portion size was perfect, and the ambience was perfect. It took me back to the old days of eating Chinese food in BD. The servers and friendly manager were amazing. Thank you for having us. We will come again.
My fav restaurant and more favorite is the lollipop chicken. Too good and their service is super fast and I always get hooked up with extra sauce. Definitely a go to for halal Chinese
Sagar Chinese is truly a hidden gem in Jamaica! The food is consistently delicious, freshly made, and packed with flavor. I’ve ordered from here multiple times and they never disappoint. Their spicy chicken fried rice, garlic shrimp, and chili chicken are especially tasty — perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat and seasoning. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and service is always friendly and quick, whether you’re dining in or getting takeout. They also customize orders if you ask, which is great. If you’re craving Desi-style Chinese food that hits the spot every time, Sagar Chinese is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!
The food is awesome. After trying a few other places, I would say Sagar Chinese is still the best I had here.. Just came by today with family for lunch. A little request to the management- The restroom is clean and dry, but the cobwebs are clearly visible and uncomfortable to look at while in the restroom.
Been coming here for ages. My dad used to bring me here when I was small. Now I come with my family. Time flew, but their taste remained the same. Anytime I crave Chinese food, I think of Sagar Chinese. The server's ambiance and the food make me feel at home. Thank you for the service.
The food was really good and tasted fresh. I also liked how friendly and helpful the staff were — they make you feel comfortable and really care about the customers. Service was quick, and everyone had a nice attitude. Overall, a great experience!
I was about to write a review today, and I noticed @Sanower Hossain's comment, whom I don't know, but the pictures uploaded show we both dined at the same time, as I was also a customer. The comment he made, which is totally wrong. The servers mentioned before taking our order that they got an issue in the kitchen, so it will take time. Also, they behaved way too rudely to employees, which I felt bad for them about. He was asking for a discount, which was the funny part as I was leaving after all the chaos he did while ordering . Kudos to the employees for doing great work.
I’ve been visiting this restaurant for years, and the manager is truly exceptional. She’s been here for around 13 years and is always polite, professional, and welcoming. Her kindness and dedication make every visit special. A big reason this place feels so warm and well-managed!
One of the best Halal Chinese in town. The Roseland brunch is In the top. This one is also good. Love their food , specially the chicken lollipops. This is mostly famous for Bangladeshi Chinese food which you can’t find anywhere else. Employees are also friendly. Usually they are busy most of the time but they serve usually pretty quick.
Alhamdulillah, today is my first Ramadan of this year. I usually love having haleem at iftar, but for a long time I couldn’t find a haleem in NYC that truly satisfied me. Today I tried the mutton haleem from Sagar Chinese, and it was honestly amazing. It tasted perfect and I finally felt fully satisfied. Highly recommended!
Sagar Chinese Restaurant offers a unique blend of Bangladeshi-style Chinese cuisine, all served halal. During our visit, we started with the Fish Fingers as an appetizer, which were flavorful and well-prepared. For the main course, we had the Mix Fried Rice and Chicken Fry. The Mix Fried Rice was delicious, but the Chicken Fry’s taste was a bit underwhelming. The restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere reminiscent of traditional Chinese eateries, and the service was commendable. For those seeking Bangladeshi-style Chinese dishes in a comfortable setting, Sagar Chinese Restaurant is worth a visit.
Tried this place for the first time and honestly loved it Even though they were a bit busy, the staff still took time to walk me through the menu and explain what everything tastes like. They even gave me a little soup sample just to try their flavors super nice of them! The food was amazing, especially the Lollipop Chicken. Definitely coming back soon
I’ve been coming to this restaurant for a long time both dining in and taking out, and they never disappoint My orders are always perfect and on time. The staff are super friendly and always take care of me they even remember to give me extra chili oil every time because they know I love it. Amazing service and great food every single visit
Sagar Chinese Hillside Restaurant is a hidden gem for anyone craving flavorful, well-prepared Indo-Chinese food with a scenic backdrop.the restaurant offers not only a satisfying culinary experience but also a relaxing ambiance that makes it perfect for both casual outings and special occasions. The menu is packed with all the classics — from crispy fish to manchurian tiger prawn— and the flavors are bold, fresh, and consistent. One of the highlights was their Chicken Lollipop: crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with a tangy dipping sauce that hit all the right notes. Thai soup spe and Sagar fried rice Chicken were also standouts — well-seasoned, hot, and generously portioned. Service was polite and fairly prompt, though a bit slow during peak hours — understandable given the crowd and location. The staff is courteous and happy to make suggestions based on your preferences. The restaurant’s hillside location adds a lot to the charm. Do visit.
Ive visited sagar chinese several times and it never dissapoints, The food is always fresh no complaints so far. Chicken lollipop and corn soup is my go to. The staff are nice and friendly and their services are really fast. Food portion is reasonable can work on the pricing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for halal chinese.
Great food and quick service. Place gets crowded during busy dinner rushes, so plan ahead. Chicken lollipop and Thai soups are a must. Hope to be back soon.

Sagar chinese brought back memories, the food was alright, though we have ordered lollipop chicken, chicken pakora for an appetizer. The main course was chicken chow mein, beef chilli, sizzling chicken, sagar mix fried rice with mango lassi. We were expecting main course was to be on the spicer side, but everything was mild.
They’ve a decent Bengali and Indian style Chinese foods including a wide range of fried rice, vegetables, chicken and beef, and some of the fish items. We were two persons, ordered a mixed fried rice and sesame chicken which were more than enough for us. The food was delicious too. The overall environment is decent and they have a restroom too, although that’s the only thing I didn’t like there. When you dine in, they charge you around 5 dollars extra as a service charge which could have been less. However, at take out or online order, that’s not the case. Overall recommended.
Went to the Jamaica location today and it was a pretty good experience. They definitely need to upgrade their restaurant because it most certainly is dated. The food was pretty delicious, we got the Fried Rice, Noodles, General Tso’s Chicken, Thai Soup and Lollipop Chicken. The only thing I would like to suggest is why do we need to pay for Water? What happened to the days when we would be served old fashioned tap water? Can’t believe we have to pay for bottled water now, but I guess that’s the outcome of inflation.
Sagar has been a longstanding staple in our home. I do have to say all their soups and fried rice is still good as I remember, nostalgia takes over.

Visiting NYC for the first time. Heard a lot about Sagar Chinese Restaurant. Food was not that great as I expected. For example Beef Chili was plain, not much taste.
The food used to be quite good when it first opened. This lunch we had was very disappointing. The shrimp fried rice felt like left overs. The Tom Yam soup unnecessarily spicy and the sizzling beef just mediocre. Service was excellent but the lack of service of plain tap water was pretty disappointing considering the spicy soup needed to be quenched frequently. Hope they improve their menu items. Otherwise it’s not a good deal for the price.
We ordered mixed fried rice, Thai soup, chili chicken and beef sizzling. And for spritzer we ordered chicken lollipop. The mixed fried rice was delicious and so was the chicken lollipop. The chili chicken and beef sizzling somehow didn't live up to my previous experience and seem to have declined in quality. The quantity and quality had more punch to it previously. The Thai soup also felt a little bit of a let down. There used to be more chicken and prawns and it seems the quantity was reduced dramatically. I would recommend the chicken lollipop and mixed fried rice and the lassi is nice as well. Other than that it's a gamble. Also note that they include a 20% service charge in their bill so keep that in mind when you dine in and tip.
I been here quite a few times. My go to is the masala chicken fried rice. Today I ordered masala chicken fried rice. When I got home, I realized it was not masala fried rice and it was sagar fried rice. I was charged for sagar fried rice so I did not bother calling and informing. My order was packed in a bag on the counter for a few minutes before the cashier brought it over to me.

Very bad Customer service for take out order no greeting from server looks like as a customer We put burden on them … this is happening over and over couple of times…. Even though when we have setting in that place…. Very frustrating customer service….
Thai soup was the worst ever I tasted. Also the chicken & beef items were not good at all. Only the chicken lollipops & fish fried were good. They should pay attention to improve their food quality and taste.
Overall terrible quality, especially the meat dishes. The color was so off-putting I did not try it. Glad I skipped as people in my party got food poisoning / upset stomach for the rest of the day. On the positive end, the soup was good and so was the fried rice. But not worth risking getting ill. It was a GrubHub order so can't speak for service. I remember when this place opened up decades ago, we were all so excited to finally get Bangladeshi Chinese cuisine in NYC. It's sad to see these old staples in the local community not be able to maintain their quality and service.
I’ve had better Chinese food than this place, to be honest. The Thai soup was watery and lacked flavor. The sizzling beef was bland, and I think the chef is more focused on cooking than maintaining quality. The chicken wonton and fried rice with chicken and lollipop were good, no complaints. The Manchurian chicken was mediocre and I wouldn’t try it again. As a South Asian franchise, they could have done better with the flavors. I’m sorry, but I won’t be coming back here.
If you’re looking for good halal Indo-Chinese food, this is a must try. It’s a staple for Bangali’s in the tri state area. Food is reasonably priced for the most part however I would suggest take out. The restaurant itself is small and always crowded. The bathroom is dirty and the staff is not always the best.

I ordered sagar every week for years but this month all 3 times I gave a chance there was NO flavor in any of the foods! It’s a shame they clearly changed the chef. I brought food for 20 family members and each one was shocked it was so terrible and they spit it out
They need to change the cook .food is tasteless and no flavor at all . I ordered fried rice . Lollipop chicken and chili chicken and also chili shrimp total cost me 150 but the food was not good at all . I ate sagar before al lot of time but now their food quality is not good at all
Food was so bad, and they gave me old food. When I got home then I found it.
This place is not like how it used to be. The food sucks here now. I think they fed us spoiled food the beef tasted sour and smelly.
This is one of the worst food service ever I have experienced today. Today I have ordered one platter of iftar dish from Sagar Chinese and I experienced unexpected things. The rice was too much worst. Even the bad smell was coming from the rice after opening the platter box. The fried chicken wasn’t cooked well. Please don’t visit there if you are alert for your safety. I am requesting to the all parents that don’t go there with your children. This kinds of food could be the worst result for your children’s.
Really this is not the place you should come with your family very expensive and no taste
I recently dined at Sagar Chinese, and while the food was average and unremarkable, the overall experience was overshadowed by a serious billing issue and poor customer service. My total bill exceeded $225, but I later discovered I was charged twice for the same amount, even though the bill should have been processed only once. Initially, I assumed the issue would resolve itself because the duplicate charge was pending. However, when it transitioned to a normal charge, I realized it wasn’t going to be corrected automatically. I contacted the restaurant immediately, and they assured me the issue would be resolved within two days. However, after three days with no follow up, I called again and requested to speak to a manager. The manager claimed the issue would be addressed after their accountant returned, but after waiting four days, nothing was resolved. Nor did I receive any follow up call, and the duplicate charge remained uncorrected. Frustrated, I contacted them a third time, only to be told that I needed to bring my bank statement to the restaurant to prove the duplicate charge despite already providing the transaction date and amount. This unreasonable request, combined with their dismissive attitude, left me no choice but to report the transaction as a disputed charge to my bank. As of now, I am still waiting for the bank to resolve the issue. I strongly caution anyone dining at this establishment to pay with cash and keep their receipts. The lack of accountability and unwillingness to assist with a clear billing error is unacceptable. Customer service is just as important as the food, and unfortunately, this restaurant failed on both fronts. Proceed with caution if you decide to visit. UPDATE While I appreciate your response claiming you “understand the frustration” and are “working to resolve these issues faster,” it has been over a month, and I’ve yet to receive a single call. You’ve found the time to respond here, but not to follow up with me directly. Thankfully, my bank resolved the duplicate charge after your restaurant failed to provide them with a receipt. Had I relied on you, the issue would still be unresolved. Here’s the challenge: I left my phone number three times—twice with managers and once with an employee. If I receive a genuine apology call, I will remove this review. If this review remains up, it will prove that your establishment does not care about its customers or their concerns. Let’s see what happens.
I drove 45 minutes to came here to my order and way to here couple of times called the store number. Nobody answered and then came to store and I placed my order chicken Thai soup, they said it’s not available. Asking how about store phone? They said not working last couple of days. This happened was 9:33pm. What’s going on here???? Totally unhappy
5star: Great food at reasonable prices. Cannot find parking in NY. Mango Lassie is too sweet. Fry chicken is the best. Masala Fried rice was delicious. Will be back. Service was fast and friendly. Halal too 1 star: place is trash now. Went way downhill. Food not good, seating is terrible. The place smells. Never going back.
Okay, so this wasn't the first time I ordered food from Sagar Chinese. I've come here with my family many times throughout the years. But recently I was horrified of what I ate. I ordered the chicken Manchurian and I ate most of it until I noticed the chicken itself was COMPLETELY pink. I ate all the other ones before and honestly my stomach was upset the first day. The second day i realized it was the chicken. This honestly made me wonder what about all their other battered stuff. The meat is not cooked properly. I will never eat at Sagar Chinese again and I used to love their food.
I went to restaurant about 1 or 2 times a year as a family tradition since I was a child. They have since then remarkably started up charging certain menu items like the chicken lollipop. However, the quality of the food started to diminish, they started rushing undercooking the chicken lollipops, one of my favorite appetizers. I ordered extra to go when I got home, to my surprise they gave me fried chicken instead of chicken lollipops instead. They scammed me. Needless to say, I will no longer be going here ever again.
The quality of this place has gone down immensely & it’s so sad cus this used to be the spot now it’s gross The lassi, the lollipop chicken are just disgusting now. The owner def does not gaf about the business & it shows smh
Union Turnpike: The franchise on the Union Turnpike of Sagar Chinese is a total disaster! Roach in the chili oil: I found a dead small roach in the jar. Showed the waiter. She just simply took that away & given me a new one! No apologies, no discount, no extra dish! As if, it's their everyday deal! Mixed friend rice: I would like to ask you, who taught you to cut those chicken in such thick cubes? Where is the creaminess & buttery flavor of a good bowl of fried rice? Stale Vegetables & Herbs: The vegetables used in fried rice, soup & sizzling beed were horrific! Dried & frozen smell from a cooked dish! Sizzling beef: The dish was a torture to finish! Over use of Soya Sauce, bad meat cutting techniques, bad oil balance, staled herbs... what a shame! Sagar special thai & tom-yum soup: Total disappointments! Couldn't finish my favorite tom-yum soup there!
I have been ordering food from this place since they were open, and all I have to say is that their food quality is not that great anymore. For the price, quality, service, and food size portion, it is definitely not worth it, I will stop ordering from this place. P.s. today, from one of the orders, they only gave me 5 pieces of crispy shrimp, was that supposed to be a joke?
Today I got chicken lollipop from Sagar Chinese. This was one of the favorite place to eat. Their service is getting worse day by day. They provided raw chicken to me. The chicken was crispy on outside and pink in inside. It has really weird smell. I threw everything in garage. Allah knows how they are running their business and proving bad service to our community.
Perfect example of worst quality food, idk they even know anything about chinese food or not! Couldn’t even eat 1/3rd of the food . Total waste of money and time. If possible i could provide 0 star! And yeah they charged 15% for their service lmao and i barely saw my server! Totally ripped off
Honest review!! Name and fame without taste just overpriced. Worst food with all overpriced items and very little in quantity along with a very bad customer service. I don’t recommend this place. They play with bengali sentiments. They serve the food very very little in quantity. If you see the price and expect there would be enough I am sorry you just bought some disappointment. On the top the food were tasteless and looked like they were old and served by heating up a bit. Heard about them a lot. But its simply over rated. To me from my experience will rate 0.
Horrible man if there was a negative star I would put it. The owner needs to check his employees right now horrible customer service. Behavior is like they just cross the border today. Never ever ever going back if I was an inspector I would shut them down today.(The waiter threw the menus on the table without saying a word to us)
Went there to buy a order of chicken dumplings for my 3 years old baby my daughter only ate one of them. Then I decided to eat the rest, in my first bite I found piece of metal came to my mouth. I was shocked and at the same time fortunate that my daughter did not eat them. They just making money without caring customers health, it was so unhealthy and disgusting. I would never go back to this place ever again. I also will not recommend anyone about this place.
Me and my family have been here for over 5-10 years and the fact that our fried rice was so bland and flavorless is crazy we’ve been here along time just to eat flavorless food we had just came to sagar and none of the people have came for our order over 5 minutes after we mentioned it and for us and the people in front of us To complain about the food is unpleasant to hear for us and other new customers it’s embarassing to be honest
Sagar Chinese quality went downhill over the years. Ordered chow mein, beef chilli onion, general tso’s chicken, Masala fried rice. Their prices went up but quality and quantity went down. We throughout the chow mein, got it for our toddler since he likes noodles, however even he didn’t like it. Chow mein, no flavor, no salt or pepper, and smelled bad. Masala Fried Rice no flavor. Beef Chilli Onion was smaller than before, no flavor just bland, quantity was smaller. General Tso’s Chicken, sweet. No small in quantity. I think i am done with Sagar Chinese. No longer recommended. Tangra Masala is much better.
After having enough of Sagar's declining food quality, I just had to write this review. Full disclaimer, as a person who has known the Sagar family and been there from the start of their food businesses, I believe I`m in a unique position to comment on their food. Also, we live near Sagar with a short delivery time and always consume the food when delivered, so our reviews are as when eating freshly prepared items. About a week ago, my wife and I ordered Sagar Chinese from the Jamaica location because we were in the mood for soup and lollipop chicken. As we usually do, we got the Thai soup/chicken corn soup, lollipop chicken, masala fish fingers, and rice/meat dishes. We were so disappointed at the quality of food we received; it has been steeply declining for years. New people experiencing Sagar Chinese won`t know as much, but for us long-time food lovers living in Jamaica, we know how their food is and has become. The lollipop chicken legs were dry, burnt, and contained way too much batter. The Thai soup was very sweet and diluted, wasn't much shrimp, and the shrimp size was relatively small. The chicken corn soup had chunks of chicken with way too much egg drop and was quite bland to taste. The masala fish fingers are getting smaller and smaller by the day and contain a tiny measly portion for the price they charge. Hardly any fish in their fish fingers. The Sagar fried rice was decent, and the chili beef was just ok. Overall incredibly disappointed and will just stop ordering from here.
Their customer service is so bad. There was no gas connection, and the masala beef gravy was tasteless. When we were leaving, some of their staff were cursing us, seriously? Should focus on staff behaviour. Next time, consider switching your language to Spanish or Chinese to curse. Not HINDI. If you guys don’t wanna serve us, why do you receive the customers? Worst experience.
We came in at 9:30 on Thursday night. Right as we walked in the host Ahmed said we must order right now. We could not have a seat after we ordered we went to have a seat they gave our food somewhere else when we decided to go to a booth. We asked to move our food but they didn’t even cook in more than 3 mins. It was completely empty but they didn’t even say to do takeout.
Four of us there around 6:30pm, restaurants was kind of empty. We were waiting to be served but almost 20/25 minutes no one came to ask for help or ask are you ready to order or do you need more time? What we observed they were busy with online/ phone orders. We all were hungry after work wanted have some appetizers. Since no one came to us one of my coworkers got up & let them know that we are ready to order. After order food, it came pretty fast which we were very glad. We are not even finish our dinner one of the waiter came gave us the bill & left. We were so surprised & felt it was very rude. Anyway we wanted to have desert but we changed our mind. After dinner we were chatting for few minutes & restaurant wasn’t busy, one of them came & told us they need our table. I never saw any restaurant service is that bad. I am sorry I don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Very rude unprofessional & food quality was ok.
This restaurant is a frequent eatery for my family and I, we went there on the 10-04-2025, the server was aggressive from the minute we entered, after waiting some time for a table which was fine, we started to order and was told that they have limited items on the menu, we ordered got our drinks and waited 45minutes,for the server to serve ppl that came after us, he approached us to retake our order because they gave our food to the manager's friend. They profile ppl that's not like them and that's extremely racist.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! The workers here are so terrible and lazy. When they get "too busy" they cut off their phone lines so no one can place pick up orders. What kind of lazy restaurant does that?? Called multiple times and this isn't the first time their lazy workers cut their phone lines off when they are "too busy"
Don’t buy their food. Bought their ifter box which was a full box of half cooked food.after eating their food I got sick.we should complain abut your bad food to the health department.
We got Iftar box from sagar Chinese and the Iftar box had 9-10 items and besides the date everything else was so bad and waste of money. The fried rice was just rice no flavor nothing just plain rice and the fried chicken, dumplings and other fried items just felt old and uncooked. They used to be really good but over the years their quality dropped along with their service. Every other time I’d probably understand but during Iftar after whole day of fasting and you get food like this honestly just disappointed and we had to throw the whole box away. I hope they bring improvement
We got an Iftar box from Sagar Chinese, and it came with around 9–10 items. Unfortunately, aside from the date, everything else was really disappointing and felt like a waste of money. The fried rice had no flavor at all it tasted like plain white rice with nothing added. The fried chicken, dumplings, and other fried items seemed stale and undercooked. They used to be very good, but over the years their quality and service have clearly declined. Normally, I might overlook it, but after fasting all day for Iftar, receiving food like this was honestly upsetting. We ended up throwing the entire box away. I truly hope they improve their quality and service moving forward
This was the most atrocious place ever. I read the negative 1 star reviews they had and I still went there to give the benefit of the doubt but wow Ive never had such horrible experience. How can shrimp come out looking like overly fried fish? Cant put together words. The soup came out smelling like metal. It set the mood off from the start. The workers were eating with their hands, the table wasn’t clean and was not sanitary. Do yourself a favor and listen to the negative reviews. If you want food poisoning or vomit then this is the place to go!!
Today we bought Ifter box from them, everything was just a waste of money! The box is full of half cooked food, specifically rice was half cooked,my husband got sick after having your food no taste no flavor. In this holly month how come you guys serve this kind of bad food to our Muslim community? Health Department should know how you are scamming people!!!! Never buy their ifter boxes guys never 👎
My wife, daughter, and I had a very disappointing experience at Dine Sagar Chinese in Jamaica, Queens. The food was just okay, but the service was shockingly bad. When we asked for water, the server practically threw the bottle on our table — it surprised even my daughter. The way they served the food felt rude, as if they didn’t care about us at all. Then we noticed they already added a 15% tip to the bill and still left another space asking for more. I truly regret tipping. I will never visit this place again.
Compare to last year their food quality got worse. Everyone comes here for authentic Bangladeshi Chinese taste. Their Thai soup had no flavor. Chicken fried taste like store bought. Has no smell of Bangladeshi Chinese. The beef sizzling has gravy in it. Nd the fried rice looks like biryani. So disappointed.
This place used to be amazing 2–3 years ago, but now it’s honestly terrible. The food quality has completely dropped. Bland, poorly prepared, and nothing like it used to be. Extremely disappointing.
Absolutely terrible experience. The table was dirty when I sat down, and even after asking, the staff didn’t bother to clean it properly. The employees were rude, and the manager lady had a terrible attitude completely unprofessional. The food was also bad cold, flavorless, and not fresh. Honestly, nothing about this place was good. Between the unclean table, rude service, and hidden charges, it was just a total waste of money. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of better spots in NYC where the staff actually care about customers and cleanliness.
Terrible experience from start to finish. The food was low quality and the portions were laughably small for the price. Even worse was the customer service — the staff had rude attitudes and acted annoyed by paying customers, as if we were asking for free food. Basic professionalism and courtesy were completely missing. A restaurant that treats customers this way does not deserve repeat business. I would not recommend this place until they seriously fix both their food and service.
One of the worst restaurant experiences i have ever had in my entire life. The service was horrible, the atmosphere is so suffocating and the food felt like it was made at least 2 days ago before serving. The stuffs are insufferable, can't take any criticisms, lashing out at anyone at anytime and not very welcoming at all.
Yesterday my parents-in-law wanted soup, so my husband bought a so-called “special Thai soup” from Sagar. What we received was unacceptable. The taste was terrible, and the chicken had a strong, foul smell that made it impossible to eat. It was nothing but plain clear soup with ketchup added to fake the color. Even the portion was incomplete—the bowl was not properly filled. When we called to complain, instead of apologizing or taking responsibility, your staff started arguing and creating unnecessary drama. This is extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Such poor food quality and customer service are completely unacceptable.
I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at Sagar Chinese in Hillside Ave. Yesterday, I visited the establishment and spent approximately $50, which is a significant amount for me as I am not currently employed and used my savings. I ordered the chicken vegetable Thai soup, but what I received was a mostly watery broth. Upon returning home and inspecting the contents, I felt frustrated and called the restaurant to inquire about the consistency of the soup. The staff member confirmed that they did offer Thai soup and stated that the recipe had not changed. When I pointed out the soup's watery consistency, the staff member's response was that they don't put water in the soup, which seemed arrogant and rude. I expressed my disappointment, feeling that at the very least, an apology for the inconvenience would have been warranted. The staff member's attitude was unhelpful, suggesting that I bring the soup back, without acknowledging any fault. One more thing there was no heat at that place and it was freezing. Given my 20-year patronage of this establishment, I am particularly disappointed in the service I received. Just a little video I am posting to show about the consistency of the soup.
I cannot recommend this place based on my recent order. The fried rice was nearly inedible because the grains were still hard and clearly not fresh. The seasoning across the dishes felt unauthentic and strange. I had to return the fried rice and had it replaced but still had the same taste. Even the Manchurian chicken was tasteless and nothing I expected! Overall, a very poor representation of Asian fusion. I'll be not ordering from there again.
There was no heat or hot water in the restaurant-but my intestines were on fire within hours after eating the food. Lollipop chicken-my first bite revealed white undercooked chicken skin and also somewhat smelly chicken, which probably had been left out of the fridge for too long. Had to throw out that piece. Bit into another piece of chicken, this one was cooked but the chicken still smelled. I was looking forward to trying this signature dish and this restaurant. Beef also slightly smelly but not as much as the chicken lollipop. Rice and noodles bland but at least did not smell. Hope the restaurant makes improvements. Serving cooked and not spoilt food is quite a basic expectation.
We went to Sagar Chinese with our family after hearing a lot about it from relatives. We had good expectations. Unfortunately, the dining experience was very disappointing. First of all, there was no heating in the restaurant. They said there was a gas issue, which can happen but sitting in the cold weather was very uncomfortable. We ordered chicken lollipop and Thai soup as starters. These were actually good, and credit should be given for that. After this, we expected the main food to be better. We ordered chow mein, fried rice, and chili chicken. Sadly, all of it was very bland and had almost no taste. The chow mein was especially oily and unpleasant. After eating here, it is hard to understand why Sagar Chinese is so hyped. Taste and comfort, both were missing during our visit. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and we would not recommend it.
Very unprofessional I request for chicken lollipop, fish and Thai soup and after 20 min they provide only the soup without other appetizers and said appetizers will come shortly but after waiting 10 min they serve appetizers by that time soup get cold …..very bad and unprofessional service ( FYI it’s not 1st time they been doing this unprofessional service since years management should keep eye on this and make there service as a fine dining and The servers should be more pro active on their service) Also they put a dirty tip box up front I put a dollar though 😂
Went there for a lunch with family. I have never had such a bad Thai soup in my life. It was watery, salty & absolutely tasteless. Not sure if there is any real chef behind the kitchen or not. Fried rice was barely eatable. Had to return mango lassi because it was smelling old & rotten. Beef manchurian was absolutely tasteless meat. Please hire a real chef, change or update your menu and train your server so that they don’t return with the wrong food on the table after just 5 min of taking the order on a slow time 😂
They sold us BAD jilapi. It was clearly a few days old, stale, and smelled like garbage and FISH. We paid $10 for this and wanted to enjoy it during iftaar. We tried calling them to let them know but the phone number they have posted everywhere is unavailable. Their mango wings have gone down in quality as well. They’re overcooked and the sauce isn’t flavorful anymore, it just tastes like plain sweet mayo.
