My first time coming in… I was greeted by two young ladies and they were very nice to me. I ordered the chicken soup to go (they have many different kinds on certain days). It was neatly packed and came with lime, chips and the best avocado sauce I’ve ever had!!It was delightful. Veggies were cooked well and so was the chicken. I certainly will be coming again.

It's near a busy train and bus hub. I have to circle several times before I can park. Order delivery when you can. If your a commuter by rail or bus, this is the perfect pit stop for lunch or dinner for the nights you don't feel like cooking. I often have left overs from dinner for lunch the next day. Enjoy!

Overpriced for no reason typical Latin food

The only good thing about this place is their chicken… half of the time tho it’s very dry so it’s inconsistent. The other food they serve is mediocre and tasteless. Recently had their empanadas and it was tasteless and felt uncooked. I was eating more dry corn flour or potatoe than their chicken or meat empanada. Anyways goodbye golden chicken I will not be ordering here anymore.

Very Pricey and they dont give you a lot of rice. Also find the chickens are very small. Whole chicken with large avocado salad $20 no rice or beans. They get over being in convenient location

Call to make an order, they answer and just left me on hold for over 5 minutes. Every other time I make an order they serve a small amount of rice. I don't understand why they don't hire new people to work there for.

Not sure if the other reviews are from the actual establishment boosting their stars up but how more people aren’t complaining about the extreme surge in prices is beyond me. You go to ANY typical restaurant for a day time lunch special and it’s about $10, here they charge almost $20 for a half empty plate of rice/beans and a quarter chicken and another skimpy side. Truly astonishing how they are still in business. If you are looking for Spanish food, ur better off going somewhere where they won’t rip u off. I get how inflation works but this ain’t it. You need to pack that plate if u think of charging $20 in a low income neighborhood smh

Disappointed. Salmon beyond dry. For what I paid, I’m disgusted. I actually had this same meal a month ago, made fresh- probably because they were closing. I guess that’s the time to go. During rush hour, food appears rushed and tasteless.

Food is not bad the service is iffy. Today September 1st 2021 l decided to give them a try l wish your could see the small portion of food I received for $25.00. I ordered a chicken empanada and a cheese empanada which cost $3 each. The cheese one didn’t have a lot of cheese but it was ok was ok and for the chicken empanada all I got potatoes and carrots for filling barely any chicken. I know we are living though inflation so I don’t mind paying $3 but at least provide what you are charging people for. Oh I wish I could add a photo of the empanada I got from them but there is no option for me to post a photo here.

I waited an hour while all the people who came in after me recieved their meal AND finished eating it. They used to be good over a year ago. Now the prices are jacked up. Quality & Quantity is not worth what one pays!! I used to order Mini Bandeja Paisa and had good amount of Everything including few slices of steak. Now, they give one small piece of steak. Why am I paying just under $20 for Basura??? To fill my gut on things that have no value (Rice,Beans,& Plantains) Ohhhhhhh.... I know why.... They are LADRONES!!!!

Do not go here. The girl at the front was rude and disrespectful because I asked her to separate the chicken and beef empanadas. Told me that I needed to specify this before and I should obviously know this. Then when they separated it, they both had a smirk on their face. Seems like a racist establishment if you don’t speak Spanish.

Called them and ordered, gave them my address, they said ok no problem, I waited and waited, half an hour later I get a call from them saying they dont deliver this far. My husband just ordered a whole chicken with rice and beans. When the delivery arrived there was no rice. It wasn't even on the receipt. He called them back they refused to redeliver because the minimum delivery is 10$. What? So they screw up the order and now want me to pay 10 more dollars for their mistake. At first when I walked in, I thought the restaurant was very clean. Being that this was my first time dining here, I thought it would be safe to order chicken wings with french fries. However, to my disappointment, the chicken wings had no taste. It just tasted like it was fried and they added vinegar and pepper on top of it. It was supposed to be spicy chicken wings, not tasting like the chicken wings should have vinegar poured on top. When I told the waitress that it didn’t taste the way I thought it would, she did not offer any solutions. When I asked her if I could try the barbecue chicken instead, she told me that maybe I could try adding barbecue sauce to it on the side, but she would have to charge me extra and she couldn’t make me another one. What made matters worse is that I had to use the bathroom and I asked another worker if I could use the bathroom and they told me that they don’t have a bathroom available for customers. He said he didn’t know where I could use the bathroom. Aside from the place being clean, I did not find the food good, nor did I find the workers nice or accommodating. I will never come back here again.

Ordered half a chicken with rice and beans. Received the food and the chicken was undercooked. I returned the food back to ask for cooked chicken and was told to have my bank refund me... After explaining, I wanted the food but, cooked!! I was then told it would take an HOUR to get a new plate of food. Will never eat here again!

Edit: downgrading this review after a few more visits and giving this place too many chances. Service isn't great when you eat in. The waitress had an attitude whenever we needed something and had to get her attention. They always give white rice instead of yellow rice (I guess that's what the dish comes with?). Also on my most recent order I found a long hair in the sweet plantain. Great value. The portions are large for a decent price. The quality of the food is not always consistent and the service is not always consistent as well. It really depends on who is working that day. Also they sometimes get the order wrong.

I placed my order I grabbed my food and left. Today as I work from home I said I would give them a try again. After being overcharged in uber Eats ( my choice so I knew there would be an up charge) I ordered half chicken with 2 sides and a coke. After deliver fees and taxes my $16.59 meal went to $23 okay again I choose to uber it. My food came rather quick since I was close. So i was grateful for the fast service, only to look in the bag and see that my $1.50 can of coke was missing. I quickly contacted the restaurant to notify them that it was missing from my order. The male on the phone simply said to me “ oh I didn’t pack the bag so I can’t prove if the soda was there or not”. I’m like sir it’s not and the delivery literally just left. He then goes oh well you need to call uber and have them refund you for the soda because I didn’t pack the bag and it’s the delivery persons issue now. I was in disbelief! Granted it’s a can of soda but his energy and lack of accountability as a representative of the restaurant was soooooo nasty. I said I will never order from here again. His reply was okay and hung up on me. As this neighborhood continues to transform to a more modern and polished environment I would hope Golden Chicken shapes up their interactions with the community in which they work. Before more decide to avoid their restaurant and go down the block to their competitors.

I had a very bad experience on Saturday night my friend and I came to this place to get food. The lady behind the register was very nasty to us. We ordered the food and paid. After paying for the food the lady was still nasty. So I told the lady I wanted my money back because she was being so rude. The lady did not want to give me my money back and I didn’t get my food. I had to call the cops for them to give me my money back. The cops came on the scene and told me they couldn’t do nothing about it. So the cops left and I decided to take the food. The lady grab the food out of my hands. So I ended up Leaving with out my food and the money she owes me. So now I have to call my bank. This was very inconvenient. I’m sorry I came to this restaurant it ruined my night. I do not recommend anyone to this restaurant because I believe that they’re rude very rude and nasty and they’re racist.

After deliver fees and taxes my $16.59 meal went to $23 okay again I choose to uber it. My food came rather quick since I was close. So i was grateful for the fast service, only to look in the bag and see that my $1.50 can of coke was missing. I quickly contacted the restaurant to notify them that it was missing from my order. The male on the phone simply said to me “ oh I didn’t pack the bag so I can’t prove if the soda was there or not”. I’m like sir it’s not and the delivery literally just left. He then goes oh well you need to call uber and have them refund you for the soda because I didn’t pack the bag and it’s the delivery persons issue now. I was in disbelief! Granted it’s a can of soda but his energy and lack of accountability as a representative of the restaurant was soooooo nasty. I said I will never order from here again. His reply was okay and hung up on me. As this neighborhood continues to transform to a more modern and polished environment I would hope Golden Chicken shapes up their interactions with the community in which they work. Before more decide to avoid their restaurant and go down the block to their competitors.

Edit: downgrading this review after a few more visits and giving this place too many chances. Service isn't great when you eat in. The waitress had an attitude whenever we needed something and had to get her attention. They always give white rice instead of yellow rice (I guess that's what the dish comes with?). Also on my most recent order I found a long hair in the sweet plantain. Great value. The portions are large for a decent price. The quality of the food is not always consistent and the service is not always consistent as well. It really depends on who is working that day. Also they sometimes get the order wrong.
