Amazing night out at Prime Cur steakhouse in Jamul. I started my night off with a few craft cocktails and followed that with a double of Komos reposado tequila, which paired excellently with my coute de bouf and sides. The drinks, the food, and the atmosphere were all exceptional as well as the service. The bartender Caroline killed it and she had stellar recommendations for me! Would come back again just for drinks and dinner.
From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and special. The Managers Christina and Alan were warm and went above and beyond to ensure the night was extraordinary. Our waitress, Janine, was attentive and delightful, and Chef Greg’s visit to our table added a personal, fun touch. A highlight was choosing our own Buck steak knives from a presented box. The food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the ambiance ideal for a special occasion. We had (6) unforgettable dinner experiences. Two were when they brought out the Birthday Cake Desserts fully loaded with a Sparkler candle. We had an amazing time and are eager to return.
This steakhouse absolutely deserves 5 stars across the board. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone; warm lighting, comfortable seating, and just the right balance of upscale and welcoming. The food was outstanding. Every steak was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, seasoned just right, and incredibly tender. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients. The sides and sauces complemented everything beautifully. Presentation was just as impressive as the taste. Each plate came out looking polished and thoughtfully arranged, making the meal feel like a full experience, not just dinner. Service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff (Alex?) was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, with great recommendations and perfect timing throughout the meal. Highly recommend — this is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. We dug in before we had a chance to photograph the main entree but highly recommend the creme brule. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very good 🤞🤞🤞 and super service 👍👍.
Excellent food and service.
Excellent customer service and care
Love it
Food is fabulous! We shared a 30 oz new york steak, sea bass, seafood sampler, and chocolate cake. ALL were exquisitely good!!! Food heaven 😋
We came here a few times and luckily we had Janine as our server. She made our dining experience so much better by her excellent customer service.
Despite the menu being pretty pricey, the service and the food is fantastic. The view at this splace is also priceless specially with all the rain we had in San Diego.
Omg the best clam chowder I've had since I left New England. And an amazing bartender Scotty, he really makes the place.
I loved it. Atmosphere was excellent. Customer service with polite waitresses and hosts. Very fine dinning
Food is amazing. Great place and atmosphere. I always enjoy having dinner here.
The absolute best place I have ever been To ! Great service , huge portions Of Food , excellent customer Service ! Thank you SARAH!!!!!
It would be a good place for a special occasion they only serve between 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Beyond any buffet that I have ever experienced in Vegas for brunch.
Went for a b-day celebration. Very nice time!
Delicious food. Friendly and nice service. Will come back again.
Excellent food service was a little slow nice atmosphere
Wonderful dining experience food, steaks unbelievable flavor rush
Tasty food and excellent and professional staff! Never disappoints!
Sunday Lobster brunch at it's best shared with lifetime friends
Food is good and the customer service is wonderful.
Great food, and the best server Missy.
Very good food Love my jamul steakhouse
Best of the best this casino has to offer
Food taste great
We have eaten here twice and we have not been disappointed one bit. We have had the octopus the filet and the halibut... And everything was fantastic... Not the cheapest but better than anything else you would find at this price point.
We had dinner there on Sunday 10/6/19 and loved Jusimi who was handling the Pasta station. She made everything perfect. We have eaten there for the Sunday Brunch when she is working the Omelet station and just love her. My mother wanted over easy eggs and it was no problem for her to make them. She is a total gem to this company. Also, wanted to give a shout out to Kimberly who went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable time.
The food was hot and fresh. I had prime rib and steamed lobster. They had the biggest shrimp I have ever seen. Service was pretty good, just not as great as the gratuity charged. Will definitely eat here again.
This our 3rd time coming back to this place and it never disappoints. Love the atmosphere and the food. The service is amazing and the staff are always very professional. Very reasonably priced and always very delicious. To add to the greatness of this place, they now have a hotel. So you can get a room and dine for special night. And i'm not sure if anybody smokes hookah, but they also have that upstairs. So after dinner, if you wanted to go, sit down somewhere chill and have a little smoke u can.
Amazing service and delicious food. I was very surprised by the beautiful atmosphere of this restaurant, I almost forgot the restaurant was inside the casino. The service provided by our server, Antoine, was exceptional and would definitely inspire me to return soon based on his service and recommendations alone. The filet mignon and steak frites were delicious as well as their local greens salad. It was a great experience and we will definitely return.
An excellent experience for my wife and I as we were celebrating our anniversary. Antoine was our server and he treated with care and compassion. The ambience was perfect as we enjoyed our meal. Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Thanks Prime Cut for a great experience.
Ambiance is great. Limited dishes compare to Valley View lobster buffet but they offer generous servings of lobsters and prime rib. $60 meal is definitely worth it. I'm coming back!
Alex our server was absolutely amazing! Such a great and fun experience. Definitely coming back and requesting him. Thank you!
It was a great experience and the best service and a wonderful atmosphere. I really recommend cause I really enjoyed myself at the restaurant and awesome piano music. We had a wonderful time at the restaurant and casino too.
From receptionist to server made our dine-in an outstanding experience. Specially Lenell our server. Lenell meticulously serve what we as a costumer ask for. She is the reason i gave Service and Atmosphere a 5 Star. Nominating Lenell Employee of the Week, Month, and Employee of the year.
This place is incredible! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. All the staff is friendly and professional. I love it here. I come once a month at least.
We have been here twice now and it is one of my favorite places. Paris has been our server both times and she is excellent. The steaks were amazing, and bringing a box with a steak knife selection was a lovely touch. We split our huge steak and ordered sides. Their wine is great too. Can't wait to go back. Will have to save my pennies as it is not inexpensive. So worth it.
Buen nivel de comida agradable lugar precios normales
VERY expensive, but it was my birthday. So, why not?!
Wonderful Christmas brunch. Food was delightful
Great food and atmosphere, medium service
New menu and remodeling coming soon.
I used to do restaurant reviews on the radio, so it will take on that style. Spending the weekend in the area and wanted to take my wife out to a nice place. Would I come back: Maybe. GOOD: We came at 8:30 pm on a rainy Saturday. Was seated quickly, it was a beautiful high class environment inside, well decorated. Entertainment was good, one man on a single grand piano and singing. I liked the plates/bowls, for me they had a very large rim, which kept me from making any mess on me or the table. Food was great and very tasty. Comments: Having done restaurant reviews, I have expectations. Almost walked out due to the feeling of being ignored. It took 43 minutes to order and only about 1/3 to ½ of the tables had customers. Can not recommend this place, yet. I do try a restaurant up to three times after having a problem on the first try; everyone is entitled to have an off night.
Our server was great. Beautiful views, modern decor, piano player and food presentation made for a nice upscale ambience. Unfortunately, I ordered the Sea Bass and it lacked flavor and seasoning. The fish was nicely cooked but the quinoa and sauce seemed plain with no salt. We ordered oysters for our appetizer, and they were just ok. We ordered a filet mignon as well, which was also just ok. The creme brulee for dessert was delicious. Overall, the food was not memorable and would not order any of it again. We were grateful that the meal was comped as we would have been disappointed to pay the steak house prices for this meal. I'd be happy to give them a try again, but I would choose other menu items next time.
Our main issue was having to walk through the cigarette smoke filled casino to get to the restaurant. Once there the atmosphere cleared. They have a dedicated bar with TV's and you can order food from there. The drinks were ample, innovative and tasty. We sat in the restaurant which is typical of an upscale steakhouse. Very comfortable chairs, interesting decor and lighting. Great views of the valley to the south. The appetizers were great. We had the beet salad and the chowder. My wife had the seabass and it was excellent. I had the porterhouse which was quite thin but possibly the most tender steak I've had recently. The dessert Trolley was extensive and had lots of special treats. We got the chocolate cake which was delicious.
My wife and I have been coming to Jamul casino to enjoy their gaming machines for a while now. While we usually don't eat here other than maybe a snack or drink from the food court but last night we were both hungry. The place feels very upscale and the live piano player was a nice touch. The service from the hostess, to wait staff, to buss-boy were all great! The bread and sea-salt butter they bring you is good. We split a wedge salad and I ordered a cup of their butternut squash soup, both were tasty. I spotted a wagyu burger on the menu and sounded good. My wife ordered wagyu Bolognese. When the waitress returned she actually mentioned how good their burger was before I ordered and I commented how that was great because that's what I was going to order. When the food arrived, it was bland. It was edible, but lacked seasoning. I thought it was just my burger & I didn't say anything. When I asked how her pasta was, my wife said "it's ok" and I had to try it. Same. Lack of seasoning and bland. I don't know if they afraid of spices in the kitchen or what. A shame really because the food quality was there. Beef on the burger was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. It had potential to be great! Pasta was beautiful and perfect presentation as you can see in the pictures, but just nothing there for the taste buds. I will say the parmesan fries that came with the burger were delicious though! I know... it's a steak house. Maybe we'll have to go back to order a steak, but the couple at the table next to us had to ask for steak sauce after they tried the first few bite and that's never a good sign.
Very slow service. Arrived at 7, served at 8:15. Food was average.
Katherine our server was AMAZING! The bread and butter were extremely bland. The onion soup was very sweet. The main steak entrees we ordered were very delicious. I was EXTREMELY disappointed that the water boy never came to refill our water glasses.
Tried the lobster bisque last night and it was terrible. The steaks and potatoes were pretty good but their pricing does not reflect their quality. Outback steakhouse 's food is way better for a fraction of the price.
Over priced for a casino
For patrons who have visited this establishment prior to May 2024, be prepared for sticker shock and a menu change. As much as I loved this place, they either took a cue from Loft 94, got new management, or I don't know what, but they went from reasonable to not in a very short amount of time. The price increases are between 15% and 60%. The menu has also changed quite a bit. Take the standard charcuterie board, for example. It was $21 in September 2023, $25 last month and at the beginning of the year, and now they have broken up the types of charcuterie boards, making the same one now $35. That's a price increase of 40% based on what it was before May. The bison ribeye was $42 in September, then $45 last month and at the beginning of this year. Now, it is $65, and based on the new menu, it is not made the same (coffee crusted with pomegranate seeds to "fire kissed pepper sauce"). That's a 44% price increase, by the way. Well, I guess I am done with this establishment too. Hopefully the food court doesn't follow suit. I know that when construction is finished at Emerald, the prices will also change, but that's a given because they're changing their atmosphere from casual to fine dining. I'm not going to be mad at that. They were upfront about it. The manager even mentioned it. It makes sense. But this? This is ridiculous. The food quality, portions, etc. didn't get any better either, just like Loft 94. It's just disappointing.
Service was extremely poor and was definitely not "fine dining". Potatoes came out cold and steak came out on a COLD PLATE!! who the hell does that when you are spending $70 for the steak! Fine dining your food comes out made to ORDER! Not made 6 hrs prior. Extremely dissatisfied!! Will not recommend this place nor will they receive my business again.
We ate at the Sunday Lobster Buffet. We started off with a round of lobster. It was soaked in boiling water but kinda rubbery and tastless. They had a side of garlic butter sauce but I couldn't taste the garlic. Watered down semi creamy mediteranean chicken and stale pita bread with taziki sauce that has a ranchy flavor. overcooked falafel balls. My husband said the falafel is probably the best thing there, but I disagree. The rice pilaf was flavorless. Chinese food was gross tasteless. The sushi was worse than 7-11 quality, no fresh fish or shrimp. The egg drop soup and Cream of Asparagus was flavourless and unappealing. I have a cute Pet bunny at home named Nibbler, and I wouldnt dare give this salad to her. The salad greens looks like the bits that are left over after My rabbit is done eating, pooping and peeing on it and left out for 2 days. The other salad was nasty iceberg lettuce with huge blocks of unseasoned croutons soaked in ranch. The Mediterranean pasta had no taste ,no pesto, or no flavor. Then after we half ate what we had on our plate, unfinished because of the blandness, we moved on to the PRIMECUT steak :p Wrong!! The steaks' texture was like a mix of a sponge, spam, and tofu, Really nasty. Worst steak Ive tasted thus far and worse than a Hungry man. As a we sit and eat our mediocre food, We look out onto the beautiful Green Jamul Scenery, as my husband reminesced about the times he worked on the casino construction about the Yummy greasy good truck that would be parked there serving bomb juicy lunch from the same view, except they had 10x delicicious food. The deserts were halfway decent, too sugary. Hard cookies and tart like treats with store bought jelly on top.I gave this place another star because we did have a good waitress, but Im very disappointed for $100. $50/ person is by far too much, even $15 is too much. It'd be lucky to probably compare to a regular $10 buffet. After we finished our 'lunch', I had a gross sick hungover feeling from trying to stomach all the food, like I wanted to puke.
Dont waste ypur money. It sucked. Waited and waited between each plate. The lobster was cold and nasty like it been cooked all day and just sitting there. We were so disappointed and wont ever be back. The prime rib was only thing got them 2 stars. Even service was like for real. Yall neep up your game.
Service was especially poor last night..... I needed to go to the bar myself several times because our waiter would take too long to come back to the table (wife wanted another drink) and we waited an hour from appetizers to when the entrees came out, some kind of back up in the kitchen!!! (think Hell's kitchen) Brought this to the manager's attention, no apology, no comp, nothing.... our bill came up to about $460 too... (6 people) First time and last.....
Overall experience was disappointing. We came in at 7:25 and were seated right away. The waiter came but didn’t return to take our food order for another 10-15 min. We ordered clam chowder with no bacon. It took another 10-15 min to get the appetizer but they decided to add bacon. We were told they could fix it in a few seconds. Then by the time we got our food it was 8:20. An hour just to get dinner is ridiculous. The steak was good maybe not worth the $100. The asparagus looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. It was slimy and shriveled. The seasonal veggies were fine. They did take off the clam chowder but the food and service was not worth $150. (We didn’t pay since we have casino comps but wanted to share overall disappointing experience)
Was there for a birthday dinner reserved thru opentable. When we checked in, they said the system was not blocked for the private party they were holding. As much we couldn't eat at the restaurant even though we had a reservation for days in advance. How the restaurant could overlook this is surprising. Additionally there eas no attempt to make things right other than saying there were other restaurants. Even though there was no find dining equivalent.
I'll start with the positive. Antoine, our server, was wonderful. The front desk was wonderful. Even sat us earlier than our designated reservation. Now the not so good parts. When we sat down, I noticed my napkin had maybe 5 ants crawling on it. Throughout the dinner, sporadic ants would crawl either on the plates or I would feel one on my arm. We ordered calamari for an appetizer. When it eventually arrived, it was soggy. Think what day old french fries reheated in a microwave. Thats the consistency the calamari was like. Zero crispy texture. It took 1 hr from ordering, for our dinner to arrive. The plates were the only thing hot. My wife got a NY Steak and I ordered a Filet Mignon. Both cooked for Medium. Only hers was medium, mine was nearly well done. Both steaks dry like eating a biscuit with no drink. You are better off eating at the other establishments. For the price you pay, this was sloppy overall.
Worst service ever
Didn’t know until we drove all the way out here that the entire property is 21+. We wanted to try the steakhouse for dinner but we’re forced to turnaround and go home because our son was with us. We won’t be back.
We had dinner there the other night and one of us got food poisoning from bad oysters be careful when eating here.
I payed $149 for whole lobster to go, suddenly when I Open the box at home, the lobster was empty inside.
We will never come back here. Way too overpriced. Should've read the reviews first before coming here.
For the prices I expected much better. The appetizers were ok. I had the rib eye steak and baked potatoe. Steak was cooked right but had zero flavor. A good steak doesn't need sauce...this one did. Baked potatoe didn't have extra butter like I asked for and was hard. My wife had the lobster and we have had better lobster and boiling crab. Dress code said it was upscale so we dressed the part and people were in there in gym clothes... Just a waste. Will never go there again.
Got the Lobster buffet deal on Father's Day. The restaurant was half empty, the server assigned to me was horrible. She would sit and have discussions with guests while we waited and waited and waited. The food she brought was without salt, pepper, au jus, steak knife, you get it. Finally I asked for another server. That server was far better and did a great job. The food was not good, the mushroom soup tasted like mushrooms you grind up and add water. The prime rib was tender but cold. The mashed potatoes were runny like those made from a box. The Hawaiian barbecue chicken was without any sauce or taste. The macaroni served with it was no good. The steamed lobster was rubbery with no flavor. The fried lobster tasted like coated leather. The red potatoes were cooked maybe hours before and tasted stale. The pasta taste like it was made yesterday, the meatballs were dry and tough. The beef was tender but the wine sauce didn't have a great taste, the carrots were crunchy and undercooked. Very disappointing for the House steak house. I'm glad it was comped, otherwise I would want a full refund. The ice cream sundae dessert was ok, but could not make up for the lousy food. I would get a new chef and retrain the servers.
Had Jamie as our server and she was just awful. Stoped by the table 3 times the entire time we were there. 3 hours. We were going to order desert but knew it was going to be another hour. The food took over an hour to come. For the prices it’s not worth it. Go to STK downtown, way better Serivce
I have been to many fine dinning steak houses and by far this one takes the cake for disappointment. The prices are there, but the food is not. Meals are brought out very slowly, its been about 2 hours since we have ordred. Im still here waiting. The knofe i chose for my steak was the buck knife, and it looked like it was a throwing knife. Dont waste your time.... go to Barona's steak house.... just got our food and we are missing many things. Horrible place.
On 11-08-23 ate At Prime had the Duck Lollipop pop. I wish they remove this Starter. It’s the worst starter ever. The lollipop duck was so bad I damn near threw up. I had to eat lemon so that I didn’t throw up. More breathing in the Duck ground you can’t taste the Duck. All breathing. 🤮🤮
The service was moderate with Richard, but the dinner and wait time was horrible. First my wife and I split an Iceberg Wedge with blue cheese and bacon. The blue cheese topping was more of a thin herb dressing with a couple of large chunks of bacon. The salad was also small. Then I waited, and waited, and waited for my bone-in ribeye, medium rare with asparagus. While we all waited, 20 minutes or better, I sharpened and polished my dinnerware, cleaned crumbs off the table, tapped my foot, etc. The steak finally came out, cool. I don't mind resting your meat after grilling, but this was ridiculous. Then I started my wait for the asparagus while chewing the chewy steak. The asparagus finally arrives so devoid of flavor, not tender, and the chef with it. He asked me how my meal was. I am the polite type and didn't want to embarress our dinner guest and clients. He told me his was a simple recipe, salt and pepper and the oven. The side on the plate, it looked like mash potato on a tomato, it had a strange taste and texture, it tasted of kitchen drippings and cheese with some potato whipped together. They told me afterwards that I wasn't supposed to eat the garnish. I grow up cleaning my plate, so excuse me. My conclusion: the drinks, especially beer at the casino is over priced. The meal is over priced. The cook and waiter both complained about each other. The lounge act, KICKS, was very entertaining. If I want casino food I'll go to another local casino's, between Ramona and Lakeside, buffet! If I want steak, I prefer LongHorn Steakhouse, they need one in San Diego.
I wish i could put 0 stars.... calamari apetizer was hard n chewy, we switch to shrimp cocktail a little better but not excelent... the waygu burguer was dry amd had a weird taste... salmon was cold they took it back n just microwaved it... not worth it to be honest..... 👎
DO NOT EVER book a reservation on a holiday.. we came in and were surprised when we were told at the door they decided a wk ago to changed to a set menu. 125.00 per person for surf and turf🤢 , when I said no where in any website does it say that , all they could say, is we were notified a wk ago as well !!! So sad we wasted our time coming here for Valentine’s Day , making it impossible for us to make reservations anywhere else!
I can boil breast of chickens that have more flavor. Ceaser salad with sardines? Who does this. Over priced an the timeframe of the meal experience is way to long. Been waiting here for my receipt for over 5 minutes. Still waiting Never will I eat at prime cut again.
