Jeremy's is the best dining experience within at least a 30-45 minute drive from Julian and the surrounding areas. Prime Rib was excellent along with the Lobster Bisque soup. I finished the night off with a spiced cider and the extremely rich carrot cake that is big enough for 2 or 3 to share.

What an amazing hidden gem! The food was incredible and the service was great! The inside could use a couple of fans to keep the air moving but overall fantastic and I would highly recommend the filet mignon!

Recommend getting reservations for dinner. We went on Saturday eve and they squeezed us in. The restaurant is listed as a $$ but is more of a $$$ restaurant. There is live classical guitar adding to the romantic ambiance. Had fish of the day (halibut) with salad and quinoa. Along with braised pork with Mac and cheese. Great service and our waiter was awesome. There is outdoor seating but we sat inside.

The food is delicious. The filet and the Brussels sprouts were my favorite, and the carrot cake is heavenly!

I love Jeremy's!!! I ordered the 16oz ribeye. Miss Emily was my server and was simply wonderful in her service. She was knowledgeable, considerate, and patient. My food came quickly and was delicious. I've dined out for decades and Jeremy's is a very special place with a great staff a tremendous owner and amazing food. Never been disappointed with or at Jeremy's

Had a great meal with my family. I got the turkey club with garlic fries. The bacon was amazing, and the fries were very addicting. They had an excellent selection of local and international wines. I really like this place and would love to come back the next time I am on my way to Julian!

We visited yesterday (Sunday afternoon) and loved the food and presentation. We ate outdoors on the small patio even though it was quite cool (one of our party has a deathly fear of COVID). Service, right from the start, was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We were the only ones on the patio at first, but the servers kept track of us and checked on us frequently. On the recommendation of two of our party (who had been there before), we started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer. Que? I am not a fan of Brussels sprouts, but I may be converted after tasting these. They are wonderfully flavored and lightly sauteed - great dish to start. We also got the "Devils on Horseback" (6 Palm desert dates stuffed with blue cheese, wrapped in prosciutto and a maple-bourbon glaze). It was late enough in the afternoon for us to have an early dinner, so we all went for full dinner items. I had the Ribeye - thick, flavorful, with a rosemary-garlic butter. One of the best Ribeye's I have had - great flavor, very low amounts of gristle, just the right amount of fat. My wife had the Scottish Salmon, which she said was very good, although after seeing and hearing the other menu choices, she would have preferred the meatloaf. M. had the 50/50 Bison meatloaf - ground grass-fed bison, topped with Manchego cheese and pork brisket. He exclaimed that it was very very good, and would definitely get it again. S. had the 1/2 rack of lamb and loved it. All the meals were accompanied by chef's vegetables (thin-to-medium sliced vegetables in a rich butter sauce), plus Yukon whipped potatoes (the Salmon came over a coconut-sweet potato puree). We finished with some desserts. A creme brulee made with Chambord, a "Jeremy's Signature Triple Layer Carrot Cake" (huge, standing upright, with plenty of cake, cream, and carrot), and my choice (unanimously voted the winner after they all demanded tastes) - the "Cast Iron Apple Cobbler" (see photo - unfortunately it was quickly attacked when it arrived, so the photo doesn't do the presentation justice). The Apple Cobbler was outstanding - so delicious we reduced it to nothing - it is a good idea to have some help with this - it is pretty large for a single dessert serving! To wash all this down we had glasses of wine from mostly local regional wineries - all quite good. I had a glass of the Cycles Gladiator, which turned out to be a nice, well-balanced Cabernet. Others had a La Serenissima Claret, and some Chateau Saint Michelle Riesling. Inside looked interesting - I plan on trying the indoor dining next time, and we will definitely be back. Jeremy's On The Hill is well worth a visit. The food is spectacular, the service is great, and the location between Santa Ysabel and Julian is beautiful.

A bit expensive but the steak I got was great. Went on Thanksgiving so they had a different menu. The higher price might have been because of that. My friend wasn't too happy with his chicken Cordon Bleu. Overall I would recommend it.

What an amazing find! Jeremy's is gourmet! I had Macadamia crusted lamb shanks....omg to die for! we had proscuitto wrapped dates, stuffed with blue cheese and drizzled with maple syrup atop a bed of slightly charred kale and sprinkled with more blue cheese....melt in your mouth amazing! Bill had the salmon which was pan seared and perfect! with a pumkin puree, on a bed of creamed potatoes! amazing!!! We are most definitely coming back here!!!!! Megan is very sweet and extremely knowledgeable about every dish on the menu. It is not cheap! but it is very worth it for the experience, we dined outdoors and it's beautiful and comforting.

Lovely place (and very forgiving of people coming in dressed casually on accident, this is a Nice restaurant!) with a lot of yummy stuff on the menu. Waitress was knowledgeable about what was in the food and took initiative to double-check that a meal was safe for me (spoilers it wasn't, oops). Ended up trying their vegan option and it was FANTASTIC, absolutely one of the best things I've ever eaten, ever, and I greatly look forward to my experiments in recreating it, but... unfortunately it didn't end up being particularly filling and was very light on proteins. Just something to keep in mind! And be aware that when we were there business guys use it for presumably a business lunch, which was not exactly the most pleasant atmosphere.

The food was amazing!! The burger was beyond tender, and so very tasteful. Creme Brule was spot on! Also, the Brussel sprouts were done in such a unique way, they were amazing.

This is a gem for a roadside stop. I had the burger and in lieu of a bun selected a salad under the burger. The burger was cooked to order and had a good charred outside. The grilled onions were fantastic.

We always have a lovely time at Jeremy's! On our most recent visit we brought our dog as well and he was treated just as well as we were. The food and service here is always stellar! Jeremy's is always a must when we are in Julian!

First time here and already looking forward to next time! Great location with super friendly staff and excellent service. Outdoor seating under the trees was very nice. They also have a covered patio and indoor seating. The Stuffed Crimini Mushrooms, the Brussels Sprouts and the fresh baked French Bread with Thyme and garlic oil for dipping were all outstanding. My husband had grass fed burger and said it was very good. They are also very dog friendly with a menu for the pups.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary. Wait staff was phenomenal, plenty of spaces to sit on the patio or inside. Server was accommodating to our dog. Portions were bigger then expected and everything tasted great. To start we had brussel sprouts for the appetizer, I normally despise brussel sprouts but the way they grilled and seasoned them turned me into a believer if it's cooked the right way. We also had the cucumber watermelon salad, which was refreshing on a hot day. For the entree we did the pork porterhouse which was A-mazing, even the sides that come with it, very unique for a pork steak. And dessert was the Apple cobbler. Perhaps the best Apple dish I've ever had, my wife thought it was good but didn't like it as much as I did. We stopped inside to personally thank the chef. Must stop If your near Julian, we want to go again to try other dishes.

Such a gem in Julian. Their farm to table ingredients make for delicious meals ! We went for a long hike and enjoyed lunch here. I had the portobello sandwich and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich. I also had the starter salad. It was incredible!!!! So fresh !

First time eating here 10/10. The service was amazing and our server was very accommodating. Food was great. First timers I recommend the Brussel sprouts, its a great appetizer, they also have many choices for vegan customers.

Julian has some of the best food out there, very underrated in my opinion. After years of eyeing Jeremy’s, my partner and I decided to give it a try. Immediately we could tell we were in good hands, every staff member was quite friendly and helpful. Upon seeing the menu, we already were impressed with the variety of options. No matter what the budget, patrons can find delicious and high quality options. It took a while to decide because everything sounded so good. My husband got a whiskey with bitters, I got a glass of chardonnay; my husband was even asked if the bitters were to his liking. I cannot stress enough how attentive our server was. As an appetizer, we opted for the truffle garlic fries; OMG amazing and very unique. For dinner, I got the chicken schnitzel and my husband got the rib eye; we both were wowed. Food was so good we ate until we were stuffed and had no room for dessert. Needless to say it was an excellent choice to come here.

My grandpa was a chef trained in Zurich Switzerland so I am fairly accustomed to fain cuisine. I have to say Jeremy’s is one of the finest gourmet restaurants I have been in the US. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the meatloaf was as good as my moms 🤗 Thank you Jeremy and the whole crew for a wonderful fine dining experience!! I am not easy to please but this was fantastic 💖Daniela

Excellent upscale restaurant. All the staff are amazing and welcoming. We savored the sunshine veggie burger with garlic herb fries, tasteful cordon bleu and a little Chardonnay. Not busy at all on a Sunday evening. Great experience!!!

Finally, a good restaurant in Julian. I am a San Diego native and have always hoped for a really good restaurant in Julian. Well, we finally have one!! My daughter and I had the rack of lamb, my son had the chicken sandwich. Both dishes were over the top. The rack of lamb had a mustard/horseradish smear with chopped up pistachios sitting on a bed of flavorful mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious! If you like quality food your taste buds will enjoy this restaurant. The staff are courteous and very professional. There is outside dining, which I recommend, because San Diego has perfect weather. Go by-you won’t be disappointed! (Best to make reservations)

What a hidden gem!!! We thought we had reservations at another spot in Jullian but when we put it into the map it took us here.. I am so glad !!! The f ood, service, and ambiance were all perfect. This place is just a short drive from historic Jullian. I would highly recommend leaving the tourist trap for lunch or dinner and visiting. Every item we ordered was fantastic.

Game for our sixth wedding anniversary. I got the chicken schnitzel which was delicious and my husband was very pleased with the bison meatloaf. This is a farm to table kind of restaurant so the vegetables represented with purple cabbage squash and bell pepper. My 2-year-old also lighter mac and cheese which wasn't crafts she also ate the deviled egg appetizer

L
Larry Hoehn

Consistently great food and service. Indoor, outdoor, and covered patio seating is available. The Pumpkin Almond Bisque smells like pumpkin pie, tastes savory. The Devil's on Horseback appetizer is crispy and sweet with the light maple bourbon glaze. Crab cakes were lightly fried on top of a kale and squash combo. The chicken schnitzel was tender, top of German style purple cabbage and mashed potatoes.

This was a very pleasant restaurant with great customer service. The chef finished his culinary studies in Cordon Bleu which is in France and we could taste the freshness and quality of our food. We got there at 7:50 pm didn’t feel rushed and had the best burger and crème de brûlée. Next time we visit we will go back to Jeremy’s!

A little gem near Julian (which, imo, lacks good food...) Next to the 79, Chef Jeremy proposes a fun & tasty menu and at very decent price. The outdoor patio provides a relaxing Sunday retreat and the service is friendly & efficient. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the menu. Cheers!

Stopped by here for dinner with the wife. Surprisingly fancy inside. Menu is good but a lil pricey for my liking. Got the juicy j burger. It was bomb. Highly recommend that. Brother John was great, served us well and was very kind. My only issue was with the prices. And it wasn't major. It's a nice lil spot to enjoy a romantic evening or take the in-laws out for an important conversation. Really good spot for both.

Seriously, who expected Julian/Wynola to have such an amazing restaurant? Get the Brussels sprouts, they are fantastic. The half order is good for two to share. I had the grilled, marinated chicken breast and it was a great melding of flavors. Fries were hot and garlicky, the apple slaw tangy. Nice selection of local wines and brews. Highly recommended.

M

The Lobster Bisque soup was so good. My friends had the Muscles with sauce and bread. They couldn't stop eating the yummy morsels.

D
David Schwartz

Beautifully cooked and presented salmon salad. Had a perfectly crispy crust, packed with flavor and had some small fruits and veggies on the top to add some flavor and acidity. The salad also was fresh, light and included some fresh local cheese. All was delish. Also had the pumpkin bisque which was good.

Balance+perfection+quality+happiness Jeremy’s on the Hill is a perfect example of balance and quality of a great CHEF! I have been to a lot of places but never have I had the perfect balance of food+wine+atmosphere+presentation+quality+++++ I definitely recommend this place if you are in the mood for a peaceful relaxing evening on a date night or even a girls weekend trip! You can stay minutes away at a bed in breakfast and have a nice meal cooked to perfection paired with a 90+ point wine. Lacy is a great server!

We went here for Thanksgiving. First let me tell you how great the service was. We had made reservations for one but on that crazy busy day, I asked if we could move it up to eleven, and they did! And our server, Michelle, was outstanding. The lobster bisque was better than water grill or Gage & Tollner. The brussel sprouts had a savory citrus glaze that I still crave, and the meal itself was very good. I mean it's turkey so it's limited, but the stuffing was really good and I liked the sage butter mashed potatoes. The desserts were sooooo good -- they were super busy and we had to wait for them, but they comped one of them which was totally unnecessary (we weren't complaining because a) see above, they seated us early, b) see above, it was Thanksgiving, c) see above, the service was so friendly and d) it was a nice place to be. I'll go again. For certain!

Food was delicious, didn't need to use the steak knife since the steak was so tender and juicy. Lamb was perfectly cooked, so delicious. Live music inside. Delicious desserts. Can't wait to go back.

We held a bday party with 25 guests & the service was so great. They served us water & left carafes on the table, Drinks for everyone, from beer & wine to soda. Appetizers were quickly ordered & brought out. Then the main course: burgers, salads, steaks, comfort foods. Everything was delicious & everyone was served quickly. Very tasty foods, according to all of the guests. Oh, fresh bread on the tables, too. We bought their carrot cake & they even sliced & served it for us. The only thing we did not try were their custom desserts. This was a great venue, great food, and an excellent atmosphere. I highly recommend it for a date or for a party. Top notch steaks in a beautiful country setting & it is family owned & operated. Save this spot on your map to visit soon! It is worth the drive, near Julian.

I brought my wife and son there for Mother’s Day. This was hands down some of the best cooking we’ve had in ages. The Filet Mignon was so tender and delicious. The service was excellent and the outdoor seating was very comfortable on a beautiful spring day. I can’t wait until my journeys take me back this way again.

Wow! We went for lunch on a recommendation and the food was beyond amazing. We all got the burger and garlic fries and it was one of the juiciest, freshest burgers I have ever had. The fries were soooo good too! Our service was also wonderful. I just wish I lived closer to visit more often!

Simple but very cute and charming dining area. Service was friendly, prompt and never intrusive. Food was incredible. Get the French bread paired with the Stuffed Mushrooms, the truffle oil the mushrooms are cooked in is so so so good to dip the bread in. The lobster bisque and ribeye were also delicious. This will be a regular stop when on the mountain from now on

This is the most amazing restaurant in Julian. We live an hour away and we now intend on coming here for any special occasions. Jeremy is a wonderful and friendly guy! He was so helpful and talking with customers and suggesting ideas. We came one evening and then returned the following lunchtime. That's how good!! I ordered the apple palmer both times and it is a light and good drink! For dinner we ordered the ribeye and then the steak special of the day. The ribeye is to die for and SO much. I hate kale, but that toasty little pile of yums was amazing and I wanted more. The garlic butter on the ribeye is beyond measure, there was so much food but it was SO good. The other was a skirt steak, an amazing salsa, and the bean puree was excellent. It was atop a corn tostada. That dish disappeared so fast, I was lucky to get a taste. We did not opt for dessert, but we wanted to return for lunch! Next day we came back and chose to sit outside! Jeremy got us a lovely table and even took our picture for us, remembered us, and helped us out! We got the skirt steak special again, and then I got the skirt steak with salad. Yum!! They even looked super fancy! Well worth every dollar. BUT THEN. While we were stuffed little turkeys, we decided to try the apple cobbler. GET THIS. Forget Julian apple pie. We tried several companies while here-- it was good, but NOTHING compared to this cobbler. I dislike desserts for the most part, and this was about one of the best I have ever purchased at a restaurant. It's large, it's hot and gooey, the caramel on the ice cream is chewy and yummy, the ice cream is a creamy delight. This is the only apple item in Julian I recommend. Jeremy's was the best idea of our entire Julian trip. The staff is wonderful, the food is spectacular, and it is amazing quality and quantity for the price. UPDATE 2024: Popped up with family visiting from out of town. Got their Juicy J burgers and filets, and they were amazing. Also got the Devils on Horseback and they were shockingly good(personally hate blue cheese and frown at dates). Got the Apple Mules as well. 10/10 as always.

We dine here every time we visit Julian's. The burgers are fantastic and reasonably priced. The service is always attentive and friendly. However, despite requesting no blue cheese, we still found a few chunks of it in our burger.

Went for my birthday lunch. I love the quaint atmosphere. Very cool setting. Not too fancy but a style all it's own. Great lobster bisque and apple salad. Mom loved the pulled pork. The fries are really good, too. The presentation of the food is really wonderful. I will definitely be back.

Jeremy’s is wonderful. Sitting outside is a great experience for the comfort vibes alone. But the menu and the quality of the food makes this place stand out. All the dishes were prepared wonderfully - quality attention to the main and the sides served with each. Most of the main dishes had similar sides, that was ok, as 3 of what we ordered were a fried meat of some sort. The pork chop (my cut) was amazing. Very very juicy. Served on mashed potatoes 🥔 that were just as buttery and flavorful as the chop on them. A few garnishes of veggies 🥕 for color and the ol’ ticker and it made a compete meal. Everyone else had very similar comments on their food - fresh, quality flavors paired well for the dish. Food was out in good time (we were there for brunch, wasn’t too busy). Had some drinkies, then some dessert 🍨. Which isn’t shown, since it was eaten so fast. Ice cream and caramel or something. Too good. But not as good as my chop. Lastly, service was good and attentive. Bathrooms and space was very clean. Expected for good quality dining. One note: coffee is only French Press. Being bougier than I should be, I prefer espresso after a heavier meal, so that was a tad disheartening, but not enough to ruin a wonderful experience at Jeremy’s. We will be back (my folks have been back many times already!)

M

The location is just outside Julian, it’s really nice and has indoor and outdoor seating. We got the Brussels sprouts, vegan loaf and seared ahi salad. The Brussels sprouts were incredible, the vegan loaf was fantastic, the ahi tuna was good but not great. Service was fantastic, I would suggest eating here.

We love the Cuyamaca/Julian region and we were glad when friends asked us to meet there for lunch today! Guys, you should take the drive off of the 79 coming in from Descanso just to see the huge expansion of Lake Cuyamaca from all the rain and snow these past months!! It is just spectacular! Anyways, we had always simply had a modest but always delicious lunch in town for a day trip in but our friends had us go to Jeremy’s, which is actually in Wynola, just on the border of Julian! It boasts a “Chef Cordon Bleu” certified Chef and farm to table food, so I was excited about that. They also have Beloved SD Moto Coffee there, and quite the Bar Offerings! We enjoyed the coconut white shrimp appetizer, grilled chicken over salad, the bison crafted meatloaf, the braised pulled BBQ pork shoulder and the Tatahki Ahi salad! Each entree was super delicious and ample in servings. We finished with a stellar apple cobbler and the amazing carrot cake with wonderful frosting, not too sweet and very rich and tasty! Our waitstaff was impeccable, with great cheer, timely service and good recommendations and explanations of each dish offered. There is ample outdoor seating with tables that are more spacious than indoors. The indoor restaurant seats maybe 45 people tops in small tables, so if you are overly tall or large, it is a bit cumbersome to have a lot of dinnerware on the table. Our waitstaff person was on top of subtly clearing dishes away as we enjoyed our fare, so that was very helpful. ~We returned via Ramona and Poway, and I loved the mountain vistas on that loop of that route to return to SD!, as well!

5 freaking stars. Welcomed right as we came in and service was amazing. 3 people- Chicken schnitzel, juicy j burger, harvest salad and truffle fries. In unison we agreed the food was 10/10. The place was such a homey home too. I highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience at Jeremy’s. This is an absolute gem in Julian. It is an upscale Californian farm to table restaurant with high quality food and a relaxing but elegant atmosphere. The patio area is cute and cozy and the food was absolutely to die for. We had the opportunity to try their spring seasonal menu which had some of their staples like the filet mignon. Everything was reasonably priced for the quality of food. They had a large selection of wine picked by their expert sommelier. Overall really great experience. This is probably the best restaurant in Julian and we highly recommend it.

Great place to eat and the meatloaf was delicious. We had a party of 12 that had to be split, but we didn't mind at all. The waitress was cheerfu and attentive and everything came out pretty quickly! Highly recommend. Oh and bring a jacket as some seating is outside.

First time at this place and The 40 min wait for our food was most definitely worth it. It e Apple fest so it was very busy! I order the Juice Burger and my friends the California style. Gotta say the it is one of the best burgers I have ever try. The meat was juicy well seasoned and the fries complimented the meal overall. The customer service was very professional from hostess that walked us to our table to the servers. The place is very pet friendly and has enough parking. I enjoyed the seating patio furniture right underneath the tree.

5 stars… We ended the night in Julian with dinner at Jeremy, and it was the perfect finish to our evening. The staff were friendly, the space cozy with live jazz, and the food was fantastic. Our group of four ordered two salads (Julian Apple and Harvest) and four mains: Catch of the Day (salmon), Meatloaf Ball, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and Chicken Schnitzel. All were delicious, with the Cordon Bleu and salmon being our favorites. Portions were generous, and the dishes can be keto-friendly with their protein and zucchini sides. For dessert, we had the cheesecake of the day (chocolate), though the carrot cake was sold out. There’s ample parking, including disabled spaces. I will for sure dine there again if I am in the area.

For someone who has a hard time finding gluten free options (especially in the mountains) this place was a jackpot! They have several gluten free options on their menu and their burgers can be made into protein bowls. I have the juicy burger in à protein bowl and the chocolate mousse. Both were 🤤. I also got the triple carrot cake to go and although it was slightly dry, it was SOO good. It had been years since I’ve had a carrot cake. It was so fun to be able to enjoy the desserts as most places dont have gf dessert options. The sevice itself was okay. There were a few times when we needed more water or to request items like ketchup, but our waitress did not check on us frequently enough. Overall à great place! HAPPY eating!!! *note they do not have separate fryers for gf items. If you have an allergy or celiac this might not be safe for you to have any items from à fryer. I have celiac and risked trying a few of my brother’s truffle fries and was totally fine, nor did I have any issues with any of the other food items I got. So try at your own risk.

Had a fantastic experience at Jeremy’s! We had a very tasty burger with a gluten free bun and the vegan meatloaf along with a great IPA on draft. The gluten free carrot cake looked fabulous, and it was gigantic! The atmosphere was cozy and the service was great…friendly and attentive. Prices were very reasonable also. There should be more places like Jeremy’s, these folks set the example for a rewarding dining experience!

Always a pleasure to go here. Prices are not that different from other local restaurants, but the food is a cut above. Portions are generous without being excessive. The Brussels Sprouts are a must, everything on the menu is better than expected, and the service is prompt, professional, and personable. House wine selection, beer selection, and cocktails are all top notch. This isn't a good back country restaurant, it's a good restaurant.

This is a great Restaurant to have a romantic dinner, we don’t have nothing bad to say about this restaurant. I recommend Bourbon cider cocktail. The 60 0z Ribeye Steak 🥩 is a must to have

Everything was delicious and the staff is very friendly It was our first time exploring Julian , in town it was very crowded with tourists and Jeremy’s on the hill was nice and no wait at the time . We had a 3yr wedding anniversary dinner before heading back home

This is a very cute restaurant with a lovely outdoor space. My plate was delicious, it was breaded chicken with veggies and fermented red cabbage on top of mashed potatoes. My server was really nice as well.

Probably the best dinner place in Julian. It's a cozy little place that feels relaxed I recommend the Mac and brisket it was just fabulous. The burgers are pretty good if you don't want something fancier. The garlic fries are also top notch.

Small town restaurant vibes! Friendly service from staff. Great food selection. Try their fresh apple cider! Their fish and chips is very good! Ask for malt vinegar. It really kicks it up a notch. For dessert, we had the signature carrot cake. They use almond flour. It's topped with a sprig of sugared rosemary. Very nice presentation. If you like rich and dense carrot cake, this one is for you.

The best meal we had in our four days in the Julian area was here. The food was just right in flavor, quantity, and presentation. The service by Jennifer (& co.) was excellent. The price is quite reasonable; certainly what we had was worth the price, which is so often not the case. We had the meatloaf, pulled pork, a salad, cider, and the vanilla ice cream with both the chocolate and caramel sauces on separate scoops. Each was just right.

My mom had raved about Jeremy's for years now and I finally made it to this remarkable restaurant. Located in the very unassuming small town of Wynola, I had driven past Jeremy's many times not realizing what I was missing. From the second we walked in the staff was SO welcoming. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, allowing us to choose if we would like to sit inside in the AC or on the patio in the shade with misters. It was a hot day but we chose the outdoor patio. The slight breeze coupled with the misters kept us cool if not a little damp. We started with a glass of wine (option of 5, 8, or 24 oz), brussel sprouts, and deviled eggs. The brussel sprouts were among the best I have ever had. The addition of the pineapple chutney and ponzu sauce were excellently paired with the Brussels. The deviled eggs...well, there's not a lot you can do to make deviled eggs spectacular. They were good deviled eggs but next to the brussel sprouts they ended up seeming basic. We split an order of chicken Cordon Bleu. They offer a plate splitting where they give you both the full sides for only $8 additional. It is well worth it because the sides were the main show in my opinion. Mashed potatoes that were rich and tasted of a hint of nutmeg, brazed red cabbage that was one of the best things I have ever eaten, and kale with carrot and parsnip spears that were glazed in a just sweet enough honey sauce. I could just eat the sides, all day long. We were so happy with the food and our server who was great to chat with, always there when we needed him, and anticipated our every need. We took a slice of carrot cake home with us to have in the morning with coffee at the suggestion of our server. We may drive back up here from San Diego just to have dinner some time, it's that good.

The food was delicious, but the service was disappointing. I requested our drinks more than three times, and they were never brought to us.

My wife and I shared the beyond burger quinoa bowl and some brussel sprouts. They were both good but we had been hoping to try the tempeh loaf, but Jeremy's on the Hill was unfortunately out of some of the required ingredients. Plan on visiting again and hopefully raising the rating to five stars if the loaf is up to my expectations. The atmosphere was lovely inside. There was live music and the decor was very charming plus the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Great food, prices on a high end, place a bit small. Highly recommend Brussels Sprouts. Rack of lamb was delicious but a bit pricey for 4 chops. The purée and veggies that accompanied lamb were really really good. Overall very well prepared dish. Service was friendly and timing was good as well. Live music with classic guitar was a nice touch. What I didn’t like is sitting so close to the next table over that we might as well have been sitter at the same table. No table cloths, no bread and butter. A bit stuffy on a hot day. The menu was a bit limited, wish there more appetizer choices. However the food quality makes up for this and I would recommend it to others.

Food was good service was good however, not as good as it has been in the past. Our food came out warm instead of hot. We asked for our meats to be cooked medium they came out rare to medium rare. It seems there was more attention to detail in the past. Not sure if the had Jeff was off today. Quality of the ingredients was top drawer, the preparation just seemed to be lacking a bit in attention to detail and timing. Prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.

First time fan. Our day culminated at Jeremy's, following Volcan Winery and Volcan Mountain Preserve, and California Mountain Bakery. Among other dishes we had the meatloaf, lobster bisque, brussel sprouts, deviled eggs, and two quinoa bowl dishes. The food was very well presented and I can only speak to the meatloaf, deviled eggs, and brussel sprouts. Fresh and well prepared, the texture on the palate was all very very good. You could taste the sprouts and the quality meat, as well as the "devil" in the eggs. The look matched the taste, served at the appropriate temperatures and it wasn't overly salty. Well done! The service was fantastic; friendly and prompt. The restaurant though was not busy but we appreciated the friendy and engaging service. The aesthetics were nice, not overly furnished, tidy without being cluttered. Not elegant, but dated appropriately. (See pics). No desert. Overall, the rating is in the range of (4.4-4.6) 🌟. A visit during the week is perhaps better? Enjoy and thanks Jeremy!

Jeremy's on the Hill is a quaint little restaurant in Wynola just outside the town of Julian. In terms of price their food ranges from $14-$36. The atmosphere is nice, and the service is very good. I came here with my family while on a trip to Julian for my brother's birthday. My brother ordered the pistachio crusted rack of lamb, my father and I shared the house roasted turkey & bacon club sandwich, and my mother had brussels sprouts and a wedge salad. The lamb was really tender and the pistachios complimented it well. The sandwich was good, and tasted very healthy. My motger said the brussels sprouts were amazing, some of the best she's ever had. It's a nice place for a higher end family meal or possibly even a date. I recommend stopping by if you're out that way.

Another lovely experience at a lovely restaurant. Unfortunately, Jeremy was not in (lunchtime on a Monday). We sat outside, but were swiftly chased indoors by some rather obtrusive bees. The food was great, although my burger was a bit more done than I would have liked (my fault for ordering it medium instead of medium-rare!)

Food was very mid. It was the worst schnitzel I've had (dry). The apple cider was delicious tho! The best I've had. Service was really good everyone there is super nice, but the food doesn't live up to it's promise on an expensive menu.

The vegetarian mushroom burger was OK. It was fresh but a bit soggy. The fries also nothing memorable. Price was fair. If I eat a burger, no matter my dietary preference, I want to have a protein overload or else is not satisfying. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. The place if cozy and welcoming, with some nice outside seatings.. 3 stars for the food. 5 stars to her and the place (

This place was packed at 530pm on a Saturday. With this in mind, the wait staff was a little frantic but out server did an amazing job. We sat outside for overflow seating since inside was too packed and a little too hott. The guitarist was a nice touch inside for dinner ambience. My wife had the filet mignon which was unfortunately undercooked however they did their best to make it right. My mushroom appetizer was simple yet delicious-basically sitting in butter with some truffle oil. Kids pastas came out great. Its one of a few nicer establishments in the area, so try to go early or late to avoid the massive crowds.

Came here for dinner after making the dove out here to stay overnight. The restaurant only had one other couple in it when we got there but started to get packed after we left. We were seated right away and were starving! We ordered the Cremini Stuffed Mushrooms with Jarlsburg Blend Cheese, Malden Chardonnay & White Truffle Oil, the Grass-Fed Beef Applewood Bacon & Onion Burger and the Uncle Just Fried Chicken and an order of Macaroni and Cheese. The Cremini Stuffed Mushrooms were so good with such good flavor cooked in a cast iron which gave the cheese a nice crisp. The Macaroni and Cheese was so creamy and delicious. The burger patty in my burger was pretty small but it actually ended up being packed with flavor! The bacon was good perfectly and had great flavor too. The chicken sandwich was nice ans crispy with good flavor and the fires were cooked nicely and seasoned just enough with salt. I ordered a side of ranch that I dipped the fries in. Ranch Dip Score: 8.5/10 The only issue we had was that our server was very loud when she spoke to us. The restaurant only had one other table filled so it was pretty quiet and she was reading back out order to us so loudly that it was a bit embarrassing..

We went to Julian for a quick weekend getaway but were bothered by the crowd. We opted to drive a little further and stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. First of all, no wait. We were seated right away. They had a few signature items, so the menu was not overwhelming at all. We ordered the brussel sprouts and rosemary bread with oil for appetizers, and we were blown away. The brussel sprouts were flavorful and cooked to perfection-i have never had roasted brussel sprouts this good before. Freshly baked rosemary bread also sent me to heaven. Lobster bisque was well balanced and not too heavy. We were very impressed by the quality of food. Can't wait to come back!! Sorry minus one star for the bathroom sanitary situation-there was no running water..

Our server was very attentive and friendly. The lobster bisque and brussel sprouts were very good. The fish and chips was terrible! Outside was over fried and hard to cut while the inside was undercooked and the fish was flavorless. The waitress took it back to fix. She brought out the same piece, fried again. The outside was dark brown from over cooking and inedible. Van de Camps fish would outshine this meal! My husband's halibut lacked any flavor and came with no sauce. It reminded us of a pre-made frozen fish. The outdoor seating was pleasant, and they honored happy hour prices on drinks as Google said it was every day, but it is only Tues-Thur. The drinks were really good. We use to come here a lot, but hadn't been in a few years. In future, we will go for happy hour and have appetizers, but no main course. We came away very disappointed.

Everything was delicious. The only bad thing was I can't eat meats that aren't well cooked, I get ill for days. I ordered a well-cooked/no-pink burger. And, when I received it, it was still very pink inside. So I couldn't eat it, I just took it home to finish cooking at home. But, everything else we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

3 stars unfortunately… service was good when they had the ability to serve us, food was severely undercooked per order. Otherwise atmosphere is nice and food was generally flavorful. Gluten free carrot cake for the win.

Everything was good but kind of missed the mark on being fantastic. Date app didn't have balsamic glaze, Brussels tasted more like soy and no pineapple even though it was there. Juicy burger was very salty but otherwise good. Fries didn't taste like garlic. So, I can't give it 5 stars but would try them again.

Beautiful outdoor vibes. Plenty of shade in the middle of the day- nice fountain, lavender plants and cute hummingbirds. Also dog friendly! We came here for lunch right when the restaurant opened. We were a fan of the local apple cider- fresh and not too sweet. The apple mule was decent as well. The bread appetizer was meh (didn’t taste fresh). The truffle fries were good but a bit on the greasy side. The shareable quinoa salad was yummy except for some bruising on the avocado. I ordered the fish and chips and that was yummy (though greasy). The fried chicken burger was a thumbs up (the bacon was not lean fyi). Chicken schnitzel was good too. We were not a fan of the coconut halibut- it was bland and the flavors didn’t go too well. Overall, given the price-to-quality ratio, we feel this is an ok option if you’re trying to escape the food options from Downtown Julian.

We decided to have Hamberg in this place because it was rated high. It seems like it was our bad luck the hamburger we found a hair in it, and garlic fries we ordered it came out mostly broken to pieces. We had a bad experience with this place.

Made reservations for 1:30 pm Showed up 10 minutes early and she told me she’ll give me a call when the table is ready. 1:45pm no call so I decided to came back and ask if the table is ready. Service were slow, they served our foods but no utensils. foods is meh, burger were over cooked and dry as it can be even though we asked for medium. Salad is just mediocre, the beef on salad were really tough, not worth $26 in my opinion. Patio is cute though.

I was in the area for work on a Saturday night and found that there weren’t many options still open. I called in my order (just a burger and fries) and it took about 35 minutes to finally get it and pay. Unfortunately when I went to dig in, the burger was still raw aside from the edges. I immediately called the restaurant and they hadn’t charged my card yet so were able to void it. Despite the solution, I was a bummed that I didn’t actually get a full dinner, especially considering they advertise they cook their burgers medium unless otherwise specified and this wasn’t even rare. Supposedly they usually do a good job, so still may be worth a shot? Two stars because the fries were tasty and they gave a remedy that I was happy with.

We had Thanksgiving dinner there this year and it was average at best. The turkey dinner option didn’t include dressing, which is a must for most people. There was a choice of four dinner options, salmon, lamb, beef short ribs, and turkey. For $75-$80 per plate, none of these included appetizer, soup or salad, bread or dessert.. we had a couple appetizers and a side of brussels sprouts in addition to two bottles of wine for our party of 13. The bill came to almost $1500 which included a 20% tip. Very disappointing The food was very average and everything was ala cart. We tried to find the menu posted online prior to our arrival and of course they didn’t post it, I think if people had known what they were getting for $75 per plate, they would’ve canceled their reservation. This is their last year offering Thanksgiving dinner, good decision on their part. Our waiter was very good.

Called ahead and requested a nice table for my husbands birthday. The blonde server didn’t recognize the occasion. Food was fine, typical American cuisine.

The restaurant had a 4.6 rating on Google which attracted us to it. Furthermore, their menu cover indicated that the chef was a Le Cordon Bleu graduate which gave us an overinflated sense of excitement and expectation. The restaurant was quaint with low ceilings and simple, but cozy furnishings. The low ceiling fostered a louder atmosphere making any meaningful conversations difficult. Our waitress was sweet and friendly, but became less attentive the busier she got. The food was “rosemary” forward. I’ll explain but first, let me tell you about the dish I thought was delicious. Their lobster bisque appetizer was well balanced. It was creamy, deeply savory with a prominent lobster flavor. Now back to the rosemary…we ordered their French bread and butter. The inside was fluffy while the outside was crunchy. Nice textural contrast. The bread was sprinkled with rosemary and there was settled rosemary in the melted butter. Not a terrible start, but it was too much rosemary for us. For our entrees we ordered, ribeye with potatoes and veggies, filet with potatoes and veggies as well as the chicken finger and fries. The ribeye was unmemorable and the filet had more sinew than one would expect in a filet. The steaks were seasoned and topped with a rosemary sprig. That incessant rosemary leaves an impression on your palette. My filet was placed on top of my mashed potatoes which rendered them moist from the steak juices. On the other entree, the mashed potatoes were off to the side and they were gummy and dry. The veggie side was flavorful, but very oily. My daughter said her chicken tenders were overcooked and complained that her fries tasted of rosemary. For dessert, we ordered their cast iron apple cobbler. Sadly, this was the most disappointing of all. The crumble top was too hard, the dish was too large and the apples were vapid. It lacked depth of flavor and that feeling of comfort that one associates with such dish. Additionally, I ordered a cup of coffee to accompany the dessert and my cup was served with a beautiful ring of lipstick. First place to ever serve me one this way and I’ve eaten at some mediocre joints. We paid $300+ with tip and we left feeling unsatisfied. The restaurant benefits from being one of the few “high end” establishments in the area, but set them side to side with comparable places and it fails to measure up.

My husband and I have been coming to Jeremy’s on the Hill every year for our anniversary. We always looked forward to our visits because the food and services was great in the past. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was completely different and very disappointing. When we arrived and were seated, we noticed right away that we were the only ones in the dining room. There were about four families sitting outside, but the dining room, which is usually full on a Saturday, was completely empty. It immediately felt odd because the restaurant is normally busy. My husband decided to look up some recent reviews to see if anything had changed, and we saw that several customers mentioned that the staff had been rude or unwelcoming toward Latino guests. We are Latino ourselves, and that instantly made us feel unwelcomed. We also read that the restaurant had changed ownership and was no longer owned by Jeremy. We noticed that the entire staff working that evening was white, and the previous Latino manager and Latina server who usually worked on Saturdays were no longer there. We sat for about fifteen minutes without anyone coming to our table. A waitress kept walking back and forth through the dining room setting up tables, even though we were the only guests sitting inside. She eventually came over and said, “I’m so sorry for the mix up, I didn’t see you guys here. Can I get you some water?” That comment really surprised us, because there was no one else in the dining room, so it made no sense that she “didn’t see” us sitting in the dining room. We said yes to the water, but at that point my husband and I looked at each other and agreed that we should leave. When the server came back, she asked if we wanted to order anything, and we were honest with her. We told her that we had read the recent reviews and that the restaurant was not the same like it once was. We also mentioned the lack of attention, especially when we were the only guests inside, made us feel unwelcome. We decided to go eat somewhere else. We went to Heroes across the street, and the experience there completely turned our night around. The staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and the live music made it even better. It might not have been the fine dining experience we originally planned for our anniversary, but it ended up being a wonderful evening thanks to their hospitality. After we left Jeremy’s, we read more reviews online and saw that the new owner often responds to negative feedback in a very defensive way instead of trying to resolve concerns or apologize. That attitude, along with the empty dining room on a Saturday night, says a lot. We will never return to Jeremy’s on the Hill.

Pickled shredded beets, to replace the cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving. No dark meat because the chef was saving it for the “turkey chowder” that he intended to make throughout the week, only for the waitress to come back, and say “We are all sold out”. How are you sold out of turkey you can’t serve, but ok? The food was bad. No green bean casserole, no sweet potato casserole, no nice bread, no Julian Dessert Red Wine, no macaroni and cheese. The turkey plate had white meat with gravy, with some kind of kale mixed with diced squash, and the people had rude attitudes. The Pumpkin Cheesecake was bomb though

Discrimination? I was excited to take my friends to this place because the food is good, but when we arrived, the host told us they weren’t taking parties without a reservation (we were a group of 4). The patio, however, was almost empty. I might not have thought much of it, but last year I went with my husband and we felt overlooked by our waitress, it took her about 30 minutes to take our order, even though she was very attentive to other tables. The final straw was when she immediately took the order of a white couple who had just arrived. We were about to leave when she finally came over and apologized for the delay. After reading a few other reviews describing similar experiences, I felt I should share this. I’m not writing this for the restaurant owner to ‘fix’ anything, I’m writing this so other Latinos are aware of what they might experience before deciding to go.

Hi, I just wanted to share a little info on the Jeremey’s on the hill restaurant for folks who are looking for a good place to dine in Julian. We went into the restaurant, and at first glance, it was pretty cozy and had some relaxing music playing, but the service was not great. We waited for ten minutes and just kept getting glances from waitresses as if they were going to come up to us and seat us, but they never came. I never got to taste the food, maybe it’s good, but I honestly won’t be returning anytime soon and I don’t recommend going there.

When in Julian always go apple… unless it is here. I ordered a to go Apple cobbler and when I got back to my hotel room, I opened up a box that looked like my dogs throw up. Whatever I thought, it all goes out the same. I took one bite and it tasted like mold. Luckily I am staying next-door so I was able to walk back immediately. The staff was very friendly and very nice and actually mentioned how many complaints are made about the Apple cobbler. I wrote this off as maybe just a bad recipe, so they offered to give me carrot cake instead. I walk back to my hotel room open up the carrot cake and it looks very dense and like my dogs food (pictured above), but so what it can still be good. I took a bite and not only did it taste horrible, it tasted like mold as well. For a Le Corden Bleu restaurant this is unacceptable. I am now going to think of this as a le corden EW restaurant. Your staff is great and friendly, I’m sure the chef is as well, but they may need another lesson from Le Corden Bleu. I forgot to mention, the Apple cobbler does not use apples from Julian per the restaurant staff Edit: I just saw Jeremy‘s response to my review, extremely unprofessional. Instead of taking actual accountability, making excuses for every single complaint is actually crazy. I was being nice in my review when I said that’s what it looked like whenever I opened up the box, that is what it looked like when I received the box and I opened it right away, I was just trying to be nice and make it seem like bad food but it’s bad food AND presentation. No it was not slopped around, rather you Jeremy slopped it around and got lazy. As for the apples, every other mainstream popular place DOES use Julian apples, you just care more about profit than product quality… per your own staff. The carrot cake WAS plated like that to go as your staff showed me before I left, but again wanted to only point out the horrible food, not presentation, probably due to horrible training you provided. And for me “bashing” your restaurant, do better and take accountability and learn from it. You are a poor excuse for a leader and restaurant owner. I hope YOU find better things to do in the future than screw over your customers with horrible food and even worse excuses!
