Tip: Be patient as it can get busy and there might be a wait, but the pan-fried buns are worth it. Be careful when eating the pan fried soup dumplings, there is lots of hot juice inside.

Newly opened restaurant in the food court of 99 ranch. Really authentic Shanghainese noodles and pan fried buns with friendly staff and a window where you can watch them make the food fresh. The pan fried buns are freshly made so there’s a 10-15 minute wait but it’s definitely worth it! The scallion oil soy sauce noodle is definitely worth a try as well.
Best pan fried soup dumplings in town! Be warned, there is lots of juice inside each dumpling and it is piping hot. Don’t burn your tongue. It is worth the thirty minute drive here. I also liked the green scallion noodle.
Impossible to find something authentic here in Katy when it comes to Shanghainese food, until now. You can see them make the buns by hand and cook it right there. My favorite are the noodles with spicy pork and the buns!!! I am a little ashamed that I have been there three times already in two weeks. Hahaha.
First time trying Pan fried Pau and it was so good !! Must try !! Will be back for the noodle next time .
Food is good. They can look disorganized when it's busy and the wait can be quite long, but they do the best they can.
Certified by Shanghainese And i ordered take-out to my team for chicken

Authentic Shanghai style cuisine. Highly recommend the fried pork bun which is juicy and flavorful.
Coming originally from Shanghai, there’s not really any place in Houston like this that makes makes authentic Shanghai food like steamed and pan fried soup dumplings like this place. Nowhere else compares. This place is a hidden gem in the food court of 99 Ranch supermarket. But sometimes they have unpredictable hours, and they don’t really have any service or smile asking how your day is - all hallmarks of a good Chinese restaurant.
Nice little shop inside 99 Ranch. Great selection of Shanghai style Chinese food. Service was great, polite and courteous. Seems like a family run shop, so be patient if they're a bit slow. Important part, Food taste good, pretty solid for a small restaurant inside a grocery store.
Pork XLB was huge and juicy, price was cheap too. Wonton soup was good
Im a regular. I love the soup dumplings. Handmade and made with love, the staff knows my face and my woman's face. Our names are Julian & Krystal. Chinese, but they are friendly and patient if you are an English speaker.
Pan fried bun was amazing! The price was very reasonable. The owner lady was very kind ☺️👌
Get the noodles!!! I loved getting to see them make the noodles through the window into the kitchen. 🍜 It was delicious and so reasonably priced. For two of us were struggling to finish the delicious food (we got the noodles x2, chicken, and soup dumplings) for $25 including tax and tip. I will definitely be back!
Finally! I found a proper place that serves traditional Shanghai Wonton with the right amount Shepherd’s Purse and pork as filling! So happy! Other soup noodles dishes, juicy pork dumplings and pan fried dumplings are as good. Simple restaurant within 99 ranch market with minimal staff but good price and handmade noodles. Recommend!

We had to shop at the 99 ranch this place is in side the Market, so we decided to eat there. Sadly my friend want to eat rice, and there aren't many choices. Most on the menu are noodles. And beware there is no water for you to drink, you would have to get a water bottle for 1.50 from them. I ordered braised beef noodle, personally didn't like it. Too much noodles and the beef is over cooked which made it a little tough. Also the soup wasn't that tasty. In the end I didn't finish my food, took all to go.
Fast food style restaurant and affordable prices. Ordered curry beef noodles noodles soup, wonton soup and pan fried buns. The noodles soup and wonton broth were lacking in flavors, it tasted like instant noodles seasoning, strong white pepper powder taste. The pan fried buns were good. Maybe I ordered the wrong items. Update 11/2025 Went back to give it another chance. They have made a big improvement on the food, not sure if it's under new management but the food was better, the broth is tastier and they added more dishes option. Price is still reasonable. This time we ordered the braised pork belly rice plate, it had good flavor. wonton soup, this broth made a better improvement since last time. Beef stew noodle soup was little bland, it could use more seasoning. Xiao long bao was good. Shanghai stir fried noodle was too oily. Pan fried meat bun was good.

Will absolutely not be going back. It must have taken 20 mins to get our 4 orders, and we didn't even get 6 小龍包! I wish I could say something nice, but everything to the baos was MID. Go to Love's Dumpling for good dumplings.

The food there is fairly fine. However, be aware that this merchant will charge you additional 5% fee based on your bill. They will add this extra charge to your sales tax without any notice. Not honest merchant.

My boyfriend and I love to go to mom and pop dumpling shops. This was on the list. Its located inside of 99 Ranch Market. Once we got inside, we saw a man hand making noodles! We asked to dine in, they charged us BEFORE we even got our food (I even left a tip despite not knowing the food quality) ...10 mins into the meal we asked for water. And she charged us for 2 water bottles....even though we were DINING IN. On top of that, my boyfriend packaged my Braised Noodles (delicious noodles and soup, tough beef) some juice spilled on the table. The lady at the counter watched us clean the table with 2 napkins and never brought more or checked on us. On my way out I asked for a bag (obviously, I am not sitting a container of soup in a moving car) and she started questioning me, which was odd because when I needed help in the beginning she didn't know English. Anyways, After the lack of service, burnt pork cutlet, and paying for bottled water, a bag should've been included 😭The issue was not the language barrier. It was the attitude and unprofessional service. Food 8/10 Service 1/10. Will not be a returning customer.
