Its hit and miss but Finally the size of your portions your pAying for is good in Kilgore Texas. Of course the food is good. Much better than the taco bell slop.

In a world full of Taco Bells and Chipotles, Taco Bueno is a much-needed breath of fresh air. Having just moved from AZ, I had joined their text message club for a free Beef Muchaco. This was similar to Taco Bell's Chalupa, in regard to the soft, fluffy "shell" but actually stuffed with ingredients like beans, beef, cheese, lettuce, etc. A week or so later, I had tried the Beef Wholotta platter, and they aren't kidding! So much food for just $10! And looking at their menu, there really isn't a whole lot you can go wrong on..!

Not only was the food good, they have honest employees. I mistakenly left my purse there and returned for it like two hours later and they had secured it for me. So kind and honest people. Thank you, Tana

I don't understand why Taco Bueno isn't packed at all hours. The truth is that while Taco Bueno is "fast food", the food is prepared daily and with care. No crazy sauces to mask the taste of substandard meat. The staff are super friendly. The restaurant stays clean. They have wifi. The parking lot is small and the drive through requires a truly awkward turn, then the soeaker/mic is super close to a very busy street, but they manage. I've never been disappointed here other than the time they forgot to give me chips, which are hot and good.

What a great deal! I had the choose 3 deal for $2.99, and everything was hot, fresh, and delicious! Their chips & queso is small, but it's very good and only $.99! Servers friendly, and store very clean.

We went by and got four burritos and a taco platter and the food was absolutely delicious. The customer service was on point. I just wanna brag if you’re hungry go to taco Bueno. It’s the place to be.

Why do the beans always taste slightly off at this location? It's been that way since it was a Del Taco in the 80s. Maybe it's Kilgore's water.

Went to taco bueno in Kilgore tx on 1-24-18 made a big Togo order at first the employees seemed to handle it pretty well but as more customers started to place orders they tried to move faster in order to accommodate all there. Needless to say they failed and I was unaware that cheese was classified as a veggie I said no veggies and they gave me meat only

The food is good but the place inside could use some cleaning and some freshening up

It's the best fast food Mexican around. By no means authentic, it beats others by a wide margin. No problems with the order. Salsa bar was fresh and well stocked. Dining area was clean. Employees were friendly even when my youngest spilled her drink.

I may have come at an off-peak time of day, so I may not have seen the place at its best. My food was okay, but my shoes stuck to the floor and it just seemed like the dining area needed some clean up.

First, cashier at the drive thru was terrific, friendly and courteous. I'd hire him in a heartbeat! But, my old favorite, the Mexidips and chips, isn't what it used to be. Chips were broken, portion of guac was really small, and now they put the queso in a little plastic cup instead of in the tortilla bowl like the beans and guac. And, although I asked, they still forgot to include salsa. It's just not the same.

I've eaten at a lot of Bueno restaurants. The first impression of this one is that it's dirty. The food is prepared "fair" (taco meat doesn't taste completely cooked and lacks flavor). It's edible but nobody's best effort.

the food was good and fresh. food prep employees and gm behind the register all without hats or hair nets. gm in sleeveless blouse. lobby was filthy. few clean tables. food and dirty napkins etc all over the floor. glass windows obviously cleaned with dirty rag. wish i had taken photos. probably still could. that location is always filthy.

Not sure about this taco burger 🤔 some things should just not be made into a burger it was ok I didn't like it the texture and taste seemed like it was missing something I couldn't figure out what it was missing you may like it I just couldn't get into it but it was only 2.99 they didn't give me sauce I would say put sauce on it but I don't think that would work but yeah you should try it

Food was terrible. I didn't know a person can sprinkle chicken on a taco but the rice was good.

Ordered one chicken quesadilla and one big freakin chicken quesadilla and that's what I paid for but just got 2 regular not the big freakin.

Ordered a Build A Bowl and the rice was not cooked all the way, they added lettuce even though we ordered it without and they forgot to put on the guacamole. The beans were very congealed and did not look appetizing. The breading of the Muchaco was crusty and chewy. This is not how things normally are at a Taco Bueno. The workers were super nice so there's no complaints with them just the food...which unfortunately is the main reason you come here. Hope we just caught them on a bad day.

Annoying customers with their phones on speakerphone. Employees more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than helping us when we walked in. Over the course of our meal, I saw three of them on their phones in plain view. Obviously, there was minimal management, if any.

Use to be a great place. It is run down and needs updating. The workers don't seem to care about customer service. The food doesn't taste as good as it once did. Disappointed.

Food is good, but 3 times I have went through drive-thru, ordered a Whole-lotta box, asked for no rice extra beans, and came home with no extra beans, when I tried to call, number doesn't work. Same number that's on Google is on receipt.

It's literally like they don't even care anymore. I get that it's hard to find workers, but the windows are always gross looking, the outside looks unkempt on general, it takes forever to get an order, and the drive thru person may or may not acknowledge you when you pull up to the window.

The price could definitely be cheaper for fast Mexican food. However the food I get there is pretty good besides being super greasy but I guess that's just how's fried foods will be.

Waited in the drive through for 5 minutes before we got up to the window. Waited at the window 15 minutes before they even took our money. They let our drinks sit there for 15 minutes instead of giving them to us. Employee was nice but never apologized for the long wait.

Ate lunch here the other day and it wasn't bad. I ate all my food. But honestly I feel like what you get and for the price of it..its pretty mediocre. And I know you can't expect a ton from somewhere like here..but I mean I would of rather gone to Taco Bell honestly and spent half of what I did for more food. For somewhere that boasts the best tex-mex on their cups and blah blah ect.. definitely not. I just hadn't been here in like 5 years and ended up choosing it purely based off where I was during my lunch. Won't be back probably ever again as there are better options. But like I said earlier, I didn't expect it to wow me, but I also didn't expect to pay so much for a plate and it just be so lackluster

The food is what one would expect from Bueno, however on this trip the woman working the window seems annoyed that she had to serve customers. I get that it's a fast food Tex-Mex eatery and customer service is lacking at most fast food establishments these days, but a customer should never be made to feel as if they are an inconvenience.

Went last night, they were out of salsa, tonight I literally sat in the drive thru for over 15 minutes waiting after ordering with only 1 car ahead of me. I asked for a lot of salsa, they gave me 2, and I tried to ask for more, but they did not come back to the window for 5 more minutes while I tried signaling them, so I went inside and got my own. When I was inside, the employees were discussing shutting down because they were running out of meat. The girl at the window was friendly, not sure if management is bad or what the problem is, but I go here often and it has gotten really bad.

Waited in the drive thru for over 30 mins. and the food wasn't even good. I figured I was going to get hot, fresh food for the amount of time I was waiting. The salsa tasted like water with tomatoes and the muchaco tasted like it had been sitting for a while. Super disappointed. I used to love going here and the food was amazing. Really miss the steak quesadilla, too. Will not be going back anytime soon.

The was the worst visit ever to the kilgore store and its makes me sad because they just don't care about the quality of food .at that store .I have been going to eat at all the store the first one being the one on south first in Abilene tx .it ashame

If I could give negative stars I would. We pulled into drive through 3 cars in front of us empty parking lot. Waited in drive through for 36 minutes 20 of those after we ordered. We get to window I ask what the hold up and tell them how long we have been waiting and she rolled her eyes at me and closed the window. I then witness them laugh and fool around for another 10 minutes putting our 6 tacos and nachos in a bag. RIDICULOUS!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!

I typically wouldn't leave a negative comment during such a pandemic. But for about 6 months this is the SLOWEST place to get food in the entire city. Literally. When someone wants Taco Bueno it's almost a joke at this point because you know your waiting 20+ minutes. Taco Bell is a much higher grossing place of business and is right across the street and you will see cars waiting less that a minute to get their food. Can a regional manager or district manager get this local management team under control?

I got the street taco platter and it was disgusting. This is my first time at the one in Kilgore and my last! This has to be the worst Taco Bueno in East Texas! The meat in my Carne Asada taco was not done meat was like rubber and the rice had an odd taste to it. I’m so disappointed I’m just hoping and praying I don’t get sick.

Went to this taco bueno lastnight about 7 took 20 min to get to the speaker to order. I place my order she reads it back wrong so I correct her abd she gets an attitude and tells me thats what she said. I would not have corrected it if she had said it right . so it takes another 10 15 min to get to the window. At this point im already irritated by the attitude so I get to the window and all I have is a 100 $ bill and I was told they could not break it.. No sign saying nothing over 20 posted anywhere I stated with a line like this your cant break a 100. She slams the window and gets the manager and he comes over with an attitude and said they wont break it. So being peturbed I said ill go elsewhere and drove off.

I’m here right now, and I was just served cold food. I ordered the street taco platter. The street tacos look old and they’re cold, tortilla and all. They’re also the size of a chicken nugget—meat, tortilla, and all. The rice tastes old and it was also cold. Beans are gross. They gave me an old, brown slice of lime. The pico de gallo in the condiments bar was old because the tomatoes were orange. This food was the grossest I’ve ever had. The restaurant was dirty and sticky everywhere. I will not be coming back here.

everytime i go there my food is old i can tell. it's never fresh. this place used to be so good because the people working there cared about their job. but it's poo now. the owner should fire everyone and get a new crew like taco bell did.

The last several times that I have gone through the drive thru, they have asked me to pull up when no one was behind me and when I question it they tell me my food is ready. Why do I need to pull up when my food is ready? I went inside last month and the manager said she hadn't seen me in a while and I told her why. Today I went through and ordered three items and the girl took my money and told me to pull up, I said just give me my money back, she said your food is ready - then why do I need to pull up. Her answer was "we pull everyone up." The manager was standing right there and questioned her about it - "Why are you pulling her up when no one is behind her and she only has three items?" The girl rolled her eyes and walked off. Now you can see why I don't come in as often as I used to. If Taco Bueno wants to run their business this way, that is up to them, but I don't have to spend my money there when Taco Bell is across the street.

Ordered street tacos. The meat was like beef jerky, and the shells were so hard I could have chipped a tooth. I also ordered rice, it was old and hard as well. The only thing I feel that I got my money's worth out of the $25 I spent, was my drink and the refried beans (which I hope there is no way of them being hard). The last two times of us visiting taco bueno , the quality of the food has been terrible. From these experiences, It's highly unlikely we will ever return. Feeling like I wasted my hard earned money, and I have to go to bed hungry after a long work day. I dont know about you, but I work hard for my money. Not to just waste it on an inferior product that is inedible.

Horrible management and Very horrible customer service.. they messed my food up and I asked them to remake it and they told me I had to order a new one so after paying for 2 nachos when I get home the second one was stale.. went back the next time and was wanting my money back the manager was very rude... so I went back in there today I was trying to order my food he didn’t even acknowledge I was standing there so I told him what I wanted. But when other customers came in he was over eager to speak to them... I feel like that’s not right

Slow, the guy that you have working this morning is slow, and the lady is. Doing something else. I looked forward and the lady was saying that they had to get some hash brown. The lady gave me a cup. The other guy works here is better. I will have to do business else where, bad service at 9 am here and no ones here

I'm very disappointed, I used to love TBueno when I lived in Kilgore, but it seems this one has gone to hell. Stopped in to grab food while passing through town tonight. They got the half of the order we actually got wrong, & left out several other things. Tried to call the store, no answer. Maybe someone will see this & care, probably not. Don't waste your time or money.

We had a horrible experience using online ordering. It took almost 45 minutes to get our order, that had already been placed and paid for. The employees were extremely rude and disrespectful. The order was ultimately incorrect. There were six employees behind the counter and all were not helpful.

Awful every single time. Takes 20 plus minutes to get through the drive thru. I would blame the employees... But that falls on the manager. So maybe a new manager is needed. Food always seem old like it's from a day before. Workers attitudes are bad. Just all around awful. This is absolutely the worst taco Bueno I’ve ever had! The restrooms are disgusting. The manager took my order and was very rude! She walks up and never said a word and acted like she was gonna take my order without typing it into the system as I was ordering, so I start telling her my order and get halfway through it and she stops me and the gets on register and makes me repeat everything I just said like two more times!! 🙄 Food comes out and I go to the condiments table and what do you know it’s all mixed together and disgusting!!! My brother just went and spent $40 on dinner. Got home & of course things were missing. Plus he ordered me 2 chicken quesadillas and I got some pieces of chicken on soft tortillas with nothing else!!!! Will be last time we go there. Not first experience which is shame on us but you always wanna give someone a chance....NEVER AGAIN

Never had crunchy refried beans so much so that I could not chew them. The sauce bar was not even stocked with any sauce very dissatisfying. Tamales were cold. Rice was overcooked or something because it wasn't eatable. We tried to talk to someone but after waiting at the counter for few minutes we left cause the employees were not paying attention to the counter. The lemonade was the only thing I liked and even then you had to pay for a refill.

Would give them zero stars if possible. Ordered 16 party taco's and got 16 barely filled hard taco's. Can't believe they were okay with selling these. I have pictures of the hard shell with a tiny bit of meat they sold us😔😡

Always been pleased with the service and food at the Kilgore bueno, until today. The manager ?? Looked at me like I was an inconvenience, finally asked what I wanted gave her my order and waited a good 10 minutes for the food. The muchaco platter is supposed to come with guacamole and sour cream when I got the meal home the broken chip they use for guacamole and sour cream was laying on the rice empty. Just wasn't a good day to stop in.

We dined in and all the men on staff there had no hairnets on there beirds and I told the cashier that the women's restroom was horrible!!! There is blood on the toilet and she just ignored what I said. We sat there for about 20 minutes thinking maybe she would clean it and she didn't. So I told her that I would be getting ahold of corporate and all she did was look at me with a blank stare. Food was also horrible. They need to get there act together!!!! Won't be going back.

Used to love coming here since it is better than Taco Bell. Ate here for lunch today and it was so disgusting that I literally puked up the food halfway through my Bean Burrito and felt sick for a few hours afterwards. The beans tasted burnt, hard, and crusty. I will never eat here again!

It's just not the same Bueno that I used to work at many many years ago nor is it the same Bueno I have dined at over the years. Shame. Edit: down to 1 star. Jesus, these folks here just get even more and more rude. Only reason I come here is because the food is pretty good and it's nostalgic for me (first ever employer). Bueno needs to get a handle on their people or something.

I don't know which was worse between both the service and the food I ordered. The tacos I ordered had stale shells and were greasy, not juicy. There's a difference. The employees are unprofessional, very young people with not a bit of sense when it comes to interacting with customers. It's the worse taco experience I've ever had which surprised me because I'm from out of town and Texas is known for good food. This Taco Bueno ruined that expectation for both me and my husband. I'll never return to this place.

This location used to be so good and clean years ago. However, today it was not. First, the ladies bathroom stunk so bad and had black mold in and all around the toilet. It was absolutely disgusting!!! The food was a tad cold as well. Such a shame cause we loved this place.

The staff here are incredibly rude and do not care about customer service. We sat for almost 10 minutes waiting on a drive thru order. The manager proceeded to argue with my husband and I at the drive through window about what was missing from our order. My husband and I pulled into a parking spot to check our order and of course we were missing items like we told the manager after he assured us nothing was missing. The other employees working with the manager roamed around inside doing absolutely nothing while the drive thru continued to pile up. I'm not too sure what's been going on lately with Kilgore's Taco Bueno, but it used to be very good and one of my husband and I'm go to spots for a quick bite. We have given them multiple chances here lately with no improvement seen.

I asked politely and offered to pay for an adequate amount of meat in tacos. I HEARD the message communicated to the back. Iam not a vegetarian! When I got home, undressed and turned on the Cowboys , I went to enjoy my tacos that had not enough meat for a mouse. Less then a tablespoon of meat !! Now I remember why I started going to Taco Bell !. Very disappointed

Horrible wait times for a "fast food" restaurant. Waited in the drive thru for 20 mins for 5 party tacos and a combo burrito. The tacos were SOOOO greasy that it leaked thru the wrapper onto everything. Asked for one of EACH of the salsas (there's like 7 different flavors on the menu board) and I got 2 of the regular plain salsas. (Half full at that.) The food had no flavor including the pico and the salsas. You could tell nothing was "fresh made" as advertised. Just a waste of money, might as well go to Taco Bell!

I eat here pretty often and it's usually good but tonight I was very disappointed. I wanted to order the brisket tacos, which was clearly advertised by the robot voice on the speaker, and was told that they did not the serve the item by the lady taking my order. I'm confused why you would offer an item that I can't actually purchase. Needless to say, I probably will not be back to this location any time soon.
