We loved their complimentary chips and salsa and it is home made salsa. I ordered the chicken enchilada with rice and skipped the beans. My husband had the chile relleno with beans. Also the flan was sooo good. Honestly this probably has been the best Mexican food we have had in awhile and we drove from slo county. We would drive back just to eat here. The restaurant at this time since it was after thanksgiving going into Christmas was Christmas decorated and was clean plus the staff were super nice. We will be coming back for more.

Really lovely ambience and it was a nicely decorated restaurant. Great prices for the food quality and taste. They also served us some chips and salsa. Highly recommended place for a quick stop for lunch.

If you're in town. Better yet if you want authentic Mexican food stop by this place. The staff are wonderful and if you don't know what you want try one of their daily specials. I ate their house special "El Guadalajara." Picture above. Did I mention freshly made corn tortillas. Delicious. Simple food with so much flavor. This place will be my go to next time I'm passing by.

Awesome place with great vibe, service, and food. Loved the spirit of the place, owned by the same family who established it 25 years back. Highly recommend the Chiles Rellenos, but there were so many great vegetarian options that it's hard to pick.

If you like Mexican food, this is a good option, tasty, food food this is a place to go, enchiladas, and lots of dishes that I don’t know the name of, anyway, very nice and tasty

------------------------ UPDATE 8/29/17: Arrived again on 8/12/17 for our Camarones a la Diabla. 5 guys ordered it and all 5 pronounced it as the best they have eaten yet anywhere. Don't know what other reviewers are eating but make no mistake - there is NOTHING bland about the Camarones and it IS authentic. Try it and let me know what you think. Or, don't and we'll have more for us, lol! ------------------------------------------ We have been using this establishment for going on 15 years now. It is a lunch destination spot for our little motorcycle group, and we go for one thing and one thing only - Camarones a la Diabla. It is consistently the best we've ever found + they own the tortilla factory next store so those are fresh as can be as well. Sublime heat and flavor combo. Somebody said this place was flavorless? LOL! But don't listen to me, go taste for yourself. I'm headed there tomorrow and can't wait, maybe I'll see you there. PS: They appear to be open Sundays now but I also hear that they close one Sunday a month so take note.

No accolade seems sufficient to capture the excellence of this establishment, but allow me to try. From the moment I passed by, I was drawn in by a thoughtfully placed QR code at the entrance—an unexpectedly convenient touch for an undecided passerby like myself. The digital menu that followed was beautifully designed: comprehensive yet uncluttered, clearly crafted with the guest’s ease in mind. Stepping inside, the attention to detail only grew more impressive. A traditional ornamental entablature framed the entrance, while the windows were dressed in elegant mocha-brown mesh sheers that softened the light and instantly set a calm, inviting tone. Warm, earthy wall tones and arched walls and entries enveloped the space, creating an atmosphere that felt both sophisticated and deeply soothing—almost restorative. Every element of the interior reflected the same care and intention as the service: genuinely warm, attentive, and effortlessly welcoming with a plethora of wall art and comfortable leather booth seating.And the food? Needless to say, it was nothing short of delicious. This is the rare place where ambiance, hospitality, and cuisine align in perfect harmony. Indubitably an absolute gem—I’ll be returning very soon.

We were driving through on the 101 and saw that this looked like a great restaurant so we got off the freeway and went downtown. We were so delighted. It was some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had. Tremendous service very clean restaurant and wonderful food

Excellent service, clean and large dining area. Comfortable place to stop on the 101 for a meal. I wouldn't recommend the tamale, even though it's a HUGE one, as it's 80% corn wrapping and a tiny bit of meat but the burrito and other plates were good.

Great place to enjoy authentic cuisine. Street parking only. No reservations required. Clean tables and floors. Staff are helpful and friendly. I came here during lunch time and all of a sudden it became crowded. They only have two servers to handle all tables so service took longer.

All together this is an excellent stop along El Camino Real.

I got Chile Verde plate. It was pretty mediocre. I wasn't mad at the sauce but the pork tasted kinda dry. Nice cozy atmosphere though.

We were excited to spend some money and go out for a good meal but were very disappointed! The food isnt good at all. The meat is tough, and my chile verde sauce was very watery. They dont like seasoning here. The tamales are huge but theres absolutely no flavor and barely any meat in them, they were so dry i couldnt swallow without water. All 4 of our meals werent good. Sad we spent 100$. I should have gotten a refund. The service was also pretty bad, our waitress left halfway through (which is totally understandable because life happens), but the new waitress never came to our table. I kept having to go to the front register to ask for anything and to pay. The restaurant itself is cute and the decorations are nice. Dont bother stopping here. We ended up grabbing tamales next door lol
