Opinions de Le Canard Enchaine Kingston
Amazing experience. I went for my birthday dinner. The menu is rather small in comparison to other places but the food is incredible. The variety of appetizers are all amazing. I would recommend thr escargot flambe. There are always a few specials that the server will tell you too. All the entreés were to die for. One of my guests ordered the lamb shank, which was served in a cranberry sauce. The neat was fall-off-the-bone tender. I ordered the NY strip. It was perfectly cooked. The slight char gave it an amazing flavor and complimented the herb butter perfectly. The thinly sliced French fries underneath it were beautifully seasoned. The desserts are also always great. The service wasn't the fastest but not slow either. All the wait staff was friendly and the owner even came out and checked up on tables. All in all, an amazing experience. Perfect for fine dining without the pressure of having to dress up in formal attire. The atmosphere was lively and it's the best, if not, only French restaurant in the area.
Absolutely fantastic experience at this gem in Kingston. Yvonne, the hostess, our bartender Brian, and owner John - all great people. And the food - wow! Maybe the best endive salad ever? And a truly excellent steak, perfectly prepared (great to split) with garlic-herb compound butter. Can’t recommend enough.
Visited on 11/10. Stephano is amazing. He gave us phenomenal service. What he actually did not know is that it was a very special night for us and we had reservations across the street; however, we were not fans of the atmosphere and left. He was so attentive and oustanding. My partner does not speak much English and Stephano even spoke in Spanish for us. Thanks to him, this was the best restaurant experience I may have ever had. I already shared it on facebook. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking. My partner loved his snails and salad. We even got an excellent dessert. It was cold outside and they had heaters and were very attentive. Prices were reasonable. Beautiful place and outside seating was lovely. Highly recommend and ensure Stephano is your server!
We had a fabulous birthday dinner at Le Cenard Enchaine. Five star service and the chef was very attentive. The food was fantastic. Delicious shrimp and crab cake with an incredible sauce. We also had escargot and for dessert we had creme brûlée. I recommend having dinner at the best restaurant in Ulster County.
It’s a really great place! I went there for my wedding anniversary and people were very friendly and nice. I got bread and fresh butter first and the butter was so fresh and savory and I ordered garlic snails, half duck with berry sauce, creme brûlée. Every single dish was awesome and well cooked. After finishing meal I also ordered hot americano and it was very delicious too. I really recommend here for any kind of meal plan. 💕
A perfect French experience with lots of wine options for dinner, oysters were fresh and delicious w a white I can’t remember (6mos ago, forgot to review!!!) - we had a bottle of chateau neuf du pape too, bursting w fruit. Our waiter even understood some French (w a good accent) and it is definitely French owned, by a family I was told. And I love the name, and the newspaper 😊 Can’t wait to be back.
From the food to the atmosphere to the warm and welcoming staff, this is by far one of my favorite restaurants. The food was out of this world. Best duck I have ever had. Everything I tasted far exceeded my expectations. Thank you to the owners and staff for such a wonderful experience.
La Canard was everything we hoped it would be. I am not an expert on French cuisine, but I am sure the French Onion soup was the best I've ever had. Our dinners were delicious and the atmosphere was unique and romantic. We did ask them to modify a side dish. No problem. My only regret was 'no room for dessert.'
My wife and I are ex-NYC residents of 45 and 53 years respectively who transplanted ourselves into Newburgh of the Hudson Valley some 7 years ago. It’s been a real challenge to find restaurants of the quality of the many that we took for granted in Manhattan. Up until now, there have been only four, and one closed. For my 70th birthday, we wanted something new and we took a chance on Le Canard Enchaine. We give this place a 5 out of 5 for - food: each appetizer, entree and desert were superb. - drinks: my martini was dry and subtle, how I like it. - service: a shout out to our waitress Caitlin, who was a complete pro, attentive without being intrusive, who made good recommendations, and patiently and smartly tolerated my tiresome jokes We give it a 4 out of 5 for decor: - the decor would have gotten a five. It was nicely Frenchie. But as most old fine restaurants in upstate NY are, the light is dark. Not romantic dark, but musty-old dark. Most importantly, also like many if not most upstate restaurants, a little more attention needs to be paid to cleanliness? We got the window seats we asked for. When I went to open up the blinds to let more light in, I noticed that there was a ton of dust on them.
My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner in the private dining room at Le Canard this January. We have also dined here for dinner prior. We had a wonderful experience. Everyone was impressed by the food, the ambiance was cozy and oh so french and arranging the dinner was an easy no-fuss experience. If you're looking for groveling, white glove service you wont find that here however I love the charming, efficient, and authentic service. The food is delicious and your wine glass will never be empty!
Amazing oysters and golden beet salad. Terry our server was great.
By far one of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley. Ambiance was wonderful, it felt like a cozy place in Europe or NYC. I had the sea bass my husband had the duck and our friends both had branzino. We all raved. Service was good. Highly recommend. Appetizers included oysters and french onion soup. Desert (only one of us because we were full!) was creme brulee. All so good!!!!
This place is absolutely AMAZING!!! The atmosphere, the food, the staff (Steven) perfect. Tonight was my first time trying lamb (fell off the bone, so perfectly tender) and duck! I must have been living under a rock before, I used to shutter at the thought of eating these foods but after going out my comfort zone I can’t imagine ordering just steak and potatoes again. I will definitely be returning, I think my husband and I have found our new “usual” spot!!
We stopped into Kingston for the night. Decided to try this find based on the reviews. Everything was perfect. From the sweet and friendly maitre'd, fabulous service from our waiter Dan, to the food, atmosphere, ambiance. Our experience was much more than we expected. Try the salad with goat cheese. Mussels or swordfish for entree.
I was really surprised how good this place was for a French Restaurant in Kingston. I ordered the Lamb Shank and my friend ordered the Branzino.. The Shank was superb. I also got the french onion soup. Very very delicious. If you are in the Rhinebeck/Kingston area, I highly recommend you try this place. Your belly will not be dissapointed.
Amazing food, certainly the single best high-end restaurant in Kingston! The setting is very intimate. And the food is delicious, the menu has many great French classics, and all the bread served was warm. I had a great experience, and I’m looking forward to the next time I visit.
A special place that evokes memories of our many trips to France. Food is truly French, as is the atmosphere.
The food was fabulous, and service was both quick and friendly, despite being quite busy. I had the duck confit for my main and it was seasoned perfectly and fell right of the bone. Could not imagine anything better! I also tried a bite of everything the rest of my party ordered and nothing was disappointing. Definitely worth the drive out from Albany, you cannot go wrong with this place!
Went to celebrate a birthday lunch. Love places that serve a dinner menu all day long, because we do prefer our larger meals earlier in the day when possible. Hands down the best meal I've had in a very long time. Delicious food, the most friendly, professional and courteous staff in a setting the is both elegant and Bohemian. It had been years since my last visit there and I'll not wait so long to return, this time.
Just left the most amazing place on earth! This restaurant goes up and above. I had French onion soup and a wonderful apple dessert, they were so fabulous I wanted to order seconds just to take home! The people there are kind, warm hearted, and the women Elizabeth who greeted my husband and our two kids was such an energetic and kind soul, she put it in stone that we have to come back. This restaurant will from now on be our date night destination! I can't wait to go back!
What a spectacular meal. Everything was amazing...we really did it up. As u would expect from the name...the duck was incredible. So we're the apps and dessert. Our server Dan did a great job and the hostess Susan picked us up and dropped us off at the marina. Can't say enough about how excellent it was!
This is the type of tucked away frenvh restaurants you see in the movies for romance films. The service was impeccable and the food, exquisite. I highly recommend the duck a 'l orange, lamb shanks, and oysters. Expect to pay the same as you would at Ruth's Chris, but the atmosphere and ambiance of someplace much classier. Well done, Le Canard Enchaine!
My mom is from France and everything here was very reminiscent of French cuisine. We had the opportunity to meet the owner who is from France. My uncle who is not a fancy restaurant guy was kept saying how good his meal was. So, if want good food and service I would highly recommend.
Incredible food (very authentic and delicious) and great service. Wonderful arugula and endive salad for an appetizer, and braised lamb shank was unbelievable falling of the bone goodness. The wines by the glass are very good quality and generously poured. Can’t wait to visit again.
Kingston's crown jewel and reigning king of French of cuisine, Le Canard is simply the spot to be. The atmosphere transports you immediately to that feeling of a comfortable and cozy Parisian haunt and the servers welcome you with a classic warmth. The food is rarely inventive but always consistent and delicious. Pasta, duck, steak, chicken are all incredibly well prepared here as is their perfect rendering of French Onion Soup. The wine line is well curated and has a great range of pricing as well. We love coming here in the Winter months as it just feels like a warm hug. It's a great spot for a date, business meeting or celebration. Cannot wait to return to this stellar example of French cuisine and charm.
Christie was amazing. We had a truly lovely time. Highly recommend
Everything about le conard is perfect. Best restaurant in the hudson valley. Hands down
We ordered the endive salad which was delicious. We also got the mussels and snails and those were extraordinary. My husband felt the duck was a little sweet, I had pasta and it was yummy. The ambience was so nice , warming, and our waiter was so kind and responsive . Fast service . Never had to wait long- highly recommend .
Everything was excellent, service was especially good! Cathy keeps it real
We dined here for the first time, and our waitress Morgan made it an exceptional experience. My wife had the lamb shank, which was delicious, and I had the 1/2 chicken, which was delicious, as well. The cabernet wine Morgan allowed us to sample, and we ordered it, as it was excellent in body and flavor. Again, service was outstanding, and the only reason for the 4 star food rating was due to the size of the portions. We undertand that French cuisine portions are often not what one would get if dining any other cuisine, but in America, we expect the portions to be adjusted to fit the price. Nonetheless, would highly recommend based on our overall experience.
This was our second visit. Our first visit was Valentine’s Day and I loved the short ribs so much I wanted to go back for my birthday dinner. We ordered from their specials menu and was not disappointed. Excellent food, excellent service. Wish the short ribs were a staple.
The best food. The best service. The bartender Brian was fantastic. The hostess, Yvonne, was delightful and funny. The server Terry gave honest suggestions and amazing service. Brian’s son who took the dessert orders was incredible. All around A-team!!!! And I haven’t even gotten to the food. Every plate was licked clean!!!
From the minute you step in to the moment you walk out, a great experience! This is our third or fourth time eating there, excellent every time. I never write reviews but this is worth my time to say thank you!! Last night we sat and had great drinks at the bar with Brian an excellent bartender who makes you feel comfortable when sitting at his bar. Then when you are seated for diner, Stefan and Patrick are awesome! Both personable and right there with exceptional service. We have also had Kathy who was phenomenal as well in the past. I don't know what the recipe is for great food and greater service but they figured it out!!! By the way the food is 5 stars as well!! cooked prefect and served in a very timely manner! applause to the chef!! we will be back!! Thank you all for a great night
Went for the first time for my wife's birthday. The service was absolutely excellent. There were at least 3 different people taking care of us if not more. The menu was small but enough variety for most and there were a few great specials. I personally love traditional French dishes and found some on their menu. Everything we ate was delicious. The atmosphere was small, quaint, and delightful. We will absolutely be back again. Pricing was very reasonable as well for the quality of dining you are getting. Can't say enough good things about this place. We would recommend this to anyone that likes French cuisine.
This restaurant is where I chose to spend my solo date night out and they did not disappoint. I made a late reservation and got lost on the way there but was greeted as if I was on time and was seated immediately. The ambiance was beautiful, the rooms were lit with soft Christmas lights, there were reefs still up and each table had candles. The food as it passed looked wonderful but the Black Pepper Salmon caught my eye. The salmon was beautifully cooked but the purple cabbage stole the show, wow! Truly a chef's kissed plate! I enjoyed a glass of champagne and dessert which made my heart smile! My waiter was really nice and made just enough small talk that I didn't feel crowded. I met a lovely doctor and his wife whom shared they spend every Saturday night dinning there and I could see why. Next time I'm in Kingston, I'll definitely be popping in for whatever is on the menu.🥰
Exceptional!! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Lovely cocktails and wine selection. Food was truly delicious from appetizers to fabulous dinners to perfect deserts. The service was extraordinary. Thank you Patrick and coworkers! It wasn't around the corner for us but so worth the drive!! A truly perfect evening! We will be back!
Fabulous Martini, fabulous crab cake, fabulous roast duck--tender, flavourful, crispy skin. Excellent service. A great meal. Servings were prompt, very little wait, and staff were simultaneously friendly and professional. No BS.
We have been to La Canard on several occasions, and we have never been disappointed. The drinks are absolutely scrumptious! If you've ever wondered what a well made martini tastes like, this is a terrific place to try one. I highly recommend the Vesper Martini...3 parts gin to 1 part vodka with Lillet and lemon garnish! For MYE, we went here for a late night gourmet meal. I started with an incredible thick and flavorful lobster bisque (taking a break from one of my favorites there...the French onion soup!) My entree was the braised lamb shank with roasted tomato in a port raisin sauce. My fiancee started with an Arugula salad and a delicious special that consisted of scallops over spinach. Every bite was delicious!! It literally felt as if we were back eating in a high end restaurant in Paris...in fact this was even better than some of the meals we had there. Our waitress was also fantastic. Highly attentive and funny! So if you're in the mood for a bit of delicious French cuisine right here in Hudson Valley, I highly recommend giving Le Canard a try.
Been to this indeed VERY special place, many, many times and it NEVER disapoints. Everything is perfect; food, service and atmosphere. Perhaps one of the great dining experiences anywhere. Run. Experience and savor it. Well worth it.
Had been meaning to check this place out for over 3 years and finally did it for my wife's birthday. It was absolutely perfect. The staff were immediately welcoming and warm and the service continued to be friendly and attentive throughout the meal. It really felt like a special night out. And the food!!! Every single thing we ordered was delicious! We had the warm goat cheese cake appetizer, the steak au poivre, and the branzino with key lime pie and apple tart tatin for dessert. Every single thing was amazing. Plus the atmosphere felt like the exact perfect balance between classy but completely cozy and warm--- we were comfortable dressed neatly casual. This will be my new date night go-to for sure!
We recently had the pleasure of dining at this exquisite French restaurant, and the experience was truly unforgettable. The culinary expertise on display was evident in every dish, but two standouts stole the show: the lamb and the creme brulee cheesecake. The lamb was cooked to perfection, with each bite offering a tender and flavorful experience that left us wanting more. However, the real showstopper was the creme brulee cheesecake. This innovative dessert combined the richness of cheesecake with the classic caramelized sugar of creme brulee, creating a truly unique and indulgent treat. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. We look forward to returning soon to explore more of the menu and relish the delightful atmosphere. Recommendation: Don't miss the lamb and creme brulee cheesecake! Both are must-try dishes that will leave you eager for your next visit.
Love this gem of a restaurant in Kingston. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The wine list is super varied. The food is off the charts. The onion soup is the best I’ve ever had. Escargot is delicious. The duck and lamb were off the charts. Key lime pie is not to be missed with the most fantastic whipped cream. You will not be disappointed.
This is my favorite restaurant in Ulster/Dutchess county, and maybe even all of New York. I've been here on multiple occasions, and the staff has always been delightful. The atmosphere is glorious with good music and decoration. Most importantly the food is to die for. I have not been disappointed by a single thing on the menu. The escargot and crab cake are some of my favorites
We were there on MLK holiday where many retails and Restaurants close that day. Also not so many people. The restaurant is big and have around 4-5 section dining room. It is a fine dining with friendly staffs and service. Food are great! Have the snail soup for the first time and the sauce are so good that me and boyfriend keep digging in with bread. The casserole are well done with a duck, pork belly, sausages come so tasty. The staffs are very helpful too as I forgot my purse and they help mail them back so quickly. We definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Updated — second visit, four years later. Food was very good, though a) duck a l’orange was a little overcooked and dry, b) salmon was undercooked given our preferred temperature (well done). Also serving salmon with cabbage just doesn’t go very well. Service was ok but not particularly friendly or attentive. Overall a solid choice, and with a bit of work it could be an amazing choice. ——- 2020 review below: Great food. Waitress very friendly and helpful but didn’t wear a mask properly — nose not covered the whole time.
It's a favorite for an occasion. Still, I won't do five stars on the principle there's no perfection in this world. But walking down the street to Le Canard, having a cocktail at the bar, and dinner with a bottle of beaujolais, and then walking home, is as close to perfect as they come. Service by our French speaking waiter was great. Steak tartare, rare as it should be, and only the noise level was a bit elevated by no fault of anyone but The Spirit of the New Year!!! Happy New Year to all!!!
Terrific atmosphere and decor. Really comparable to a Paris bistro. Nearly great service. Lots of staff assisting head waiter. Unfortunately he was rushing. Restaurant wasn't that busy. I think it was his style. Food was very good, but not superb. Servings were ridiculously large. Get a couple of appetizers and one main to share for a couple.
As you'd expect at a traditional French bistro, the food here is pretty heavy & pricey overall. Service was friendly & great. The interior could use a refresh--they keep the lights low so it's hard to see, but I'd wager this place hasn't seen redecoration or deep cleaning since the 80s!
I suggest to come early to avoid waiting, the bar has limited number of seats. Ours was at 6pm on Friday, we didn't wait at all, our server was quick and attentive, food was great but I would skip the deserts. Over all, a very good experience. We had escargot, baked brie over salad, raw oysters, salmon and branding, all very good.
Great food and excellent service. The portion is not very big tho—I usually need only one entree but today I needed an appetizer. Food is delicate and delicious, personally think the confit of duck needs a bit more salt. Morgan helped us and she’s absolutely amazing— very welcoming and well-mannered!
I had dinner while passing through. It was a Monday and full, so make a reservation (I ate at the bar). Very cute place and friendly and efficient staff. I ate a really good salad of fennel, pear, and blue cheese. An excellent tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream and a perfect espresso. Good wines by the glass. And a decent duck confit (overpriced and strangely with fruit). Also, very good baguette and butter (ask for it at the start). $116 + tip.
The woman who sat us was just darling, she was super sweet and gave us a very cozy table near the window. The martini we ordered was perfect. The escargot was tasty and the garlic oil was good to dip the bread in. I was really hoping the duck would be cooked differently though I understand it says it’s roasted on the menu. I was hoping for a tender moist succulent cut. It was a bit dry from the roasting though it was still tasty. The berry sauce was different, sweet and savory. The potatoes were whipped and airy but a bit bland.
My partner and I came here to celebrate for New Year’s Eve. Food was good, but we had to wait over 30 minutes for our reservation. On a holiday it’s understandable to be busy, but I’ve never had to wait for a reservation at a restaurant before. There were a lot of other two person parties waiting even longer than us. We had to stand awkwardly in the way by the entrance/bathroom because there was no room at the bar while we waited which we didn’t enjoy. Once seated we were very happy with our food. We had the garlic snails, goat cheese salad, salmon and duck confit. Our waitress was also nice and attentive. That made up for things, but didn’t love the wait.
Upon entering the restaurant we were not greeted for a very long time. I had to get attention of the barman, who pointed us to the direction of our table, not walking with us. Fortunately our waitress made up for this ignorance. Our waitress was a bomb, funny, professional and had great recommendations. Food was delicious, we tried the duck, warm goat cheese salads, stripe bass, onion soup, all high-quality. The desserts are very good as well although some what standard. (Pumpkin cheesecake, flour less chocolate cake). One disappointment is the lack of specialty cocktail menu. The wine list is pretty good though. Also the steak was not a available, but it was on a Tuesday night.
The food is great. Onion soup is a must. The steak was also really big and delicious the reason it lost 2 stars is because of the experience with the waitress. She did not assist and did not recommend things because in her words “I don’t know what you like” as she got close to our face. It was the weirdest experience we have had.
We went here for my Grandmother's 95th birthday. The service was horrible and the prices too high. The duck was to fatty and we had to wait 15 minutes for our bread. I expected a better dining experience for this special occasion.
Started off great. Classic old school French service. Waitstaff seemed off their game. Very slow inconsistent service. $90+ bottle of wine was opened, but not tasted/poured without us having to ask. Food quality very good, but service way below standard at this price point.
Atmosphere is great, but food and service were subpar. We went for lunch, but were handed the more expensive dinner menus. When we requested the lunch menu, the waiter dismissively named two options and walked off. We had to really press him to give it to us. The soup of the day was wonderful, but the salad niçoise was unimpressive, with wilted, rotten greens and over-cooked tuna. Overall, the food was not worth the price, by a long shot.
We've been making the 50 min. trip to Le Canard most years for the last 10+ years to celebrate our wedding anniversary at this culinary French gem of a bistro. It has been a consistently special dining experience that has kept us coming back again and again. Our dinner there tonight, however, had us thinking that perhaps the magic spell has been broken. We sensed a slackening in the attention to detail of being welcomed and served that was always on par with their excellent cuisine. We took note that there were no French waitstaff, and the service lacked the feeling that had been such a stand-out for this place. Safe to say we'd think twice before making the trek again.
Met an old heartthrob from our high school. Table was wobbly, out of a lot of menu items, and it was only lunch.
We have dined at Le Canard numerous times and always enjoyed our experience but our latest visit was somewhat disappointing. Primarily the food wasn’t up to the standard we had come to expect. Maybe it was because we dined the night before Valentines Day and the chef was preparing for the next day’s prefix menu. We always look forward to an appetizer of foie gras and that item was missing from the menu, so disappointing. For my entrée, I ordered the duck confit, double leg portion and the duck seemed warmed up from the previous day. Not fresh at all. My wife’s entrée came out just fine. I think we will give Le Canard a break in our rotation and check back in six months or so.
Me and my partner really wanted to like this restaurant. We have been traveling throughout the Hudson River Valley for the last year, taking trips to different restaurants.(we both have worked in the restaurant industry for many years and travel for fun and for research). Throughout out trips to Kingston we have asked wait staff what their favorite places to go and eat are, Le Canard Enchaine was not one that was really brought up. The only reviews we got were people saying that they had been there many years ago. Based on this, other reviews, and our experience last week, it’s safe to say that this restaurant is not what it once was. Our food while edible, lacked in the flavor department, (ie. summer tomato’s with absolutely no flavor) and was served with wilted salads. The drinks, while good, were extremely expensive and one was served without any garnish. When a French martini is $20 it should be served with an orange slice or orange twist. It’s truly a shame because we really wanted to like this restaurant based off the menu and the overall look, however I don’t think the quality of the food matches the prices. With so many other Hudson Valley restaurants offering fresh local produce and meats, it’s unlikely we will be making a trip back.
I love French restaurants. This one I may have liked but right from the beginning I felt like the waiter was not friendly. I wanted to walk out before we even ordered! He seemed uninterested with each question like he had somewhere better to go and we were a waste of his time. The food was ok, the short ribs weren’t as tender as they should be. The price was ok, but for terrible table manners, we felt ripped off. If your going to charge that much, have your staff be great!
It wasn't as good as usual tonight. The steak was served raw & cold and then returned to the table and a scalding hot plate 20 minutes later. The onion soup was still delicious.
The food was good, decadent. There was 6 of us and everyone enjoyed it. Our waiter was fine, but the older grey haired waiter complained about our kid leaving finger markers on the door. After spending 400 bucks on the bill you can let it slide. Arrogance and snide behavior isn’t a good look from a waiter. We won’t be returning due his behavior. It’s a shame because the food was enjoyable.
This used to be such a magical place. Now it’s clear the bottom line is money. Smaller proportions ( the bread basket is pitiful), the salmon has shrunk and is overpriced. The flourless chocolate torte is no longer the sumptuous treat it was. The staff lack panache….. it’s so disappointing. And it’s chilly inside. The magic is gone.
What a joke! We visited this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary, anticipating a phenomenal experience based on the rave reviews provided by Google, but were grossly disappointed. The fare left more to be desired, so much so, that we opted to have dessert at the diner rather than waste another cent at this brazenly overpriced, "French" bistro. $39 for a salmon filet with a smidgen of red cabbage, which I intially returned for it was too well done(Dry). The waiter was defensive at this request, stating that I'd ordered it medium well, even if I did( which I didn't) it was still overcooked. No matter what, we have no desire to return to Le Canard Enchaine. They simply did not deliver.
We had an extremely disappointing experience at Le Canard. The food was mediocre and expensive. The signature duck dish was tough. Everything else was just OK. The service was pushy and intrusive from the minute we sat down to the point that it ruined the whole experience. It is inexcusable for a restaurant supposedly of this caliber for that to happen. They rushed us through every course and pushed certain menu items. It was anything but a relaxing evening out. There are many other good restaurants in Kingston. Especially at this price point, go elsewhere.
I recently ate at Le Canard as I have been going there for years and I have truly enjoyed my visits there with excellent service and food. My most recent trip there has been truly a disappointment! For an establishment to charge what they do, I expect superb service and food but when I was there recently, both were completely lacking. The server failed to supply a spoon with my soup and they only gave two pats of butter for a large table and failed to replace it as it was gone in a minute. Similarly, the server handed my food across the table so I had to reach across my guests instead of the server walking to me to give me my food. On top of this the main course of fish was completely overcooked and tasted like cardboard and the deserts were mediocre at best. If this was Texas Road House, I would not be writing this, but for close to $100/head this is truly a disgrace. On top of it all, they now charge a corking fee of $25/bottle which I was not made aware of.
Worst service by this woman with piercing on her cheeks. Purposely wouldn't make eye contact as she passed by tables to avoid providing service to customers, like we're an inconvenience. Had lamb to go and and she was too lazy to debone the meat and I hardly touch my meal as I was too full from my three appetizers we ordered. When I opened the container, it was a quarter of the content of meal.
