8/2025 We love this place🥳! There is always good food and service. This is one of our go to spots. We have never had a bad waiter yet. There is usually a wait but not too bad, plus the food is worth the wait. We had calamari, crab dip, crab cake with green beans, sword fish, onion rings, scallops and spinach. The green beans were not my favorite but everything else was fresh and flavorful. Don't forget the bran muffins, yum!! Excellent service as always! Thanks for your consistency!!👏👏👏

Modern American restaurant serving fresh seafood, salads, and desserts. Nice wine and beer selection and pleasant service. The seared ahi tuna salad was refreshing and tasty. The ahi was lightly seared and tender. Wasabi peas and deep fried wonton crisps gave the dish a crispy texture and the soy vinaigrette brought a bit of acidity and salt to round out the flavors. The gumbo was excellent. The soup based was rich, thick, and comforting. The shrimp and sausage bites were tasty. The Slower Delaware Pie had a nice coffee flavored ice cream resting on a crisp chocolate cookie crust. It was topped with a chocolate drizzle, whipped cream, and candied pecans.

It was our 5th wedding anniversary dinner date and it was so good! We picked the place because it had great reviews and their menu looked delicious. Hands down the best seafood we’d had in a long time! We’re from the PNW. My old fashion was perfect and our waiter was outstanding. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try east coast seafood.

Hank is the absolute BEST server. He gave us so many suggestions, since it was our first time eating here, and they were all fantastic. The BBQ shrimp, snapper, broiled seafood platter, and pie were all amazing. We’ll be back, and asking for Hank!

Chesapeake’s Seafood Restaurant quickly became one of our favorite spots in Knoxville. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and welcoming—perfect whether you're going with a group or just enjoying a quiet meal. We actually visited twice during our stay. The first time was right after we arrived in Knoxville. We were a group of eight and they seated us at a beautiful round table, ideal for friends, family gatherings, or small celebrations. The food was outstanding. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the fish dishes were top-notch. We didn’t take any photos that night because we were too busy enjoying the experience! The second visit was on a Sunday, just the two of u. and to our surprise, they were offering brunch! The brunch menu was full of great options. We had the crispy fried calamari to start, and I chose a spectacular seafood platter with a variety of perfectly cooked fish and sautéed spinach as a side. Everything was well-balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They also have a very good wine selection, and we found the prices to be more than fair for the quality of food and service. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended for seafood lovers and anyone looking for a peaceful, elegant dining experience in Knoxville.

I had the broiled seafood platter and it was cooked to perfection. I even had enough for lunch the next day. Our waitress was kind and very attentive and they did an outstanding job converting the old tire shop into this lovely restaurant!

Best seafood in Knoxville. Everything was extremely fresh and the staff made us feel right at home. They wanted us to enjoy ourselves and it showed.

Good food, excellent service, and a classy atmosphere. Great place to eat when you'd like a little step up from your average restaurant. our waiter was awesome. We were celebrating a new job opportunity and he was gracious enough to bring a free dessert just like you would get for a birthday celebration.

When I am craving seafood in a land locked state, Chesapeakes always delivers and takes me back to my days in Florida. Great service and atmosphere. And look at this lobster!! It was cooked to perfection.

Chesapeake’s in Knoxville is a gem! Even though they’re famous for fresh seafood, I went with a hamburger and fries that hit the spot. My dad had the lobster bisque soup—creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The warm bread varieties they bring out are a nice touch too. Great food, cozy vibe, and excellent service—definitely a must-try in Knoxville!

2025 update: We had Megan this round and she was a super waitress that met every need of our party of 11. Food was fantastic as usual. Added more pics! 2024: Ana Marie was the best hostess! Food was fresh and prepared with pride, restaurant is beautiful.

We had the pleasure of celebrating my son’s birthday with a party of five, and our experience was made even more special thanks to our amazing waitress, Reese. Her energy, attentiveness, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome and taken care of. She handled everything with such grace from the boys’ requests to the little birthday details. Reese truly went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful for the wonderful service she gave us. Thank you for helping make our small celebration one to remember!

Just celebrated our 5 year anniversary last night and a wonderful overall experience. The lobster tails and Alaskan King Crab legs were amazing!! The filet mignon was perfect. Shea, our server was knowledgeable and kind enough to offer to photograph our special evening for us as well as gift a DELICIOUS pumpkin butter cake. From start to finish everything was outstanding. Also the were careful to ask about any food allergies or sensitivities which I very much appreciated!

Best crab cakes I have ever had (including the OG Phillips in MD). Brandon the server was great too! The only downer… the lady sitting behind was on a work conference call through her speaker. She had it kinda low volume, but dang.

We had the pleasure of dining at Chesapeake’s Seafood and it was a great experience from start to finish. The quality of the food was outstanding. The menu offered a wide variety of seafood options, catering to all tastes. Whether you're a fan of classic dishes like fish and chips or looking for something more adventurous like Florida red snapper, there is something for everyone. Chesapeake’s is a gem for seafood enthusiasts. I can't wait to return and try more of their delectable offerings!

Everthing was fresh and delicious. Oysters were awesome. They have a chart so you can order to your liking. I had Florida grouper with coconut curry cream sauce and hubby had Alaskan Halibut with Parmigiano breadcrumbs. Sooo... yum. The service was also great. The manager swing by pretty often and made sure we were good.. We had a reservation so I didn't have to wait. We'll return again.

Ask for the waiter Shea. He's phenomenal! I went today for lunch and asked Shea's opinion regarding sides with my meal and his recommendation were well given. Super attentive and in my opinion should be training other waiters on how to be great server. He's thst.good. The food was really good. His recommendation regarding dessert was the best eventhough were were too full to eat another bite; yet we devoured that dessert. The pumpkin cake dessert (seasonal specialty) was truly scrumptious.

Most excellent food ~ service ~ restaurant! Everything our entire party ate was delicious. Grilled oysters are the best ever! Our waiter Clay was a master of his craft! ~~~~ updated review - year later and everything was as great as the first trip!

The food was so delicious👌 We ordered stuffed mushrooms and Oysters for appetizer, Broiled Seafood Platter and creamy crab soup for main course…great service for sure… our waiter Danielle did a great job bringing in the food hot and quick. We were in and out in one hour 👌, no we were not rushed, we were visiting and the timing worked perfect with our plans! Highly recommended!

We were staying at Embassy Suites and walked across to Chesapeake’s. We did make a reservation and I would suggest having one, especially on weekend nights. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Large and open restaurant, very clean. Our server was great and the food was excellent. We would definitely return if we found ourselves back in the area.

What can I say that has not already been said: week day lunch....fantastic clam chowder and the broiled seafood platter was 5-star perfect in flavor and portion size. I recommend getting the onion rings, the best! Service was benchmark for others to follow...tip well, they earn it.

Didn't have reservations but only had to wait about ten minutes. Our waiter was great and took good care of us. Ordered the fried seafood platter and my wife ordered the broiled platter. We could have ordered one platter and shared a meal but we wanted to try both styles and they were both cooked perfectly. And both were delicious

My spouse and I were visiting from out of town and came here on a date and had a wonderful meal. Our server Nick C was attentive, friendly and had great recommendations. We both had the crab bisque and shared the crab stuffed mushrooms. My spouse had a salad with salmon and I had the Chesapeake shrimp. Everything was delicious. We will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again!

Wow! Don’t hesitate, just go! This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The service was excellent and even the greeter was kind at the front door. I highly recommend the crab claws both fried and grilled as they were excellent. We also love the different oysters and they were huge and fresh. The shrimp scampi was absolutely amazing. We also love the crabcakes. They also have a lot of different interesting sides that I have never tried like the spicy spinach, macaroni and cheese and it was absolutely fabulous. I highly recommend going to this location unlike the one downtown it is open for lunch… Even late lunch because it does not close during the day. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Christmas Buffet cannot be beat - anywhere!!! Phenomenal, freshly prepared food and incredible value!!! Absolutely delicious meal! Everything was perfectly cooked. Our server, PERRY, was awesome!!! He was very attentive and offered to bring us something else if there was anything we didn’t like. We never took him up on his offer as everything we ordered was delicious.😍 I had the fried seafood platter (humongous platter of cod, scallops, clams, & shrimp). Even the coleslaw and Spinach Mac & cheese was delicious. Next time, my husband and I will split the seafood platter. My husband had one of the nightly specials; grilled salmon, plus, a Cesar salad with anchovies, a bowl of crab bisque and I had the crab fingers. Also, PERRY brought us a delicious medley of hot breads (2 types of muffins, dinner roll & a croissant) with our meal. YUM! We will be back soon! One minor complaint... the hostess was not very friendly at all and didn’t acknowledge me for a couple of minutes while I stood directly in front of her waiting to tell her that we had a reservation (highly recommend reservations). It was very busy (Wed night) at 6:45 when we arrived. My suggestion for the hostess: Force yourself to smile, welcome the guests, and tell them you will be with them in just a moment... and try to say it like you really mean it.

I had a great birthday dinner! Shawn was our waiter and he was great! We got sooo much food and he was so patient with us. The food was great! Also Shawn hooked me up with a birthday dessert to take with me. But I totally forgot about it while we went shopping for a bed lol I’m sure it will be good once I put the ice cream in the freezer lol oh and they had the BEST playlist on while I was there! Gave it such a great vibe!!

Food is usually good here and this trip didn’t disappoint. Only issue we had was the clam chowder was room temp. Tons of clams and great taste, just not hot. Swordfish skewer was good. Other white fish was good. Atmosphere is great for a nice lunch.

Me and my boyfriend came here for our anniversary tonight, Sam and the Team were absolutely amazing. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top notch. Food is a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for and everything came out perfect ! The drinks were exceptional as well. I recommend the Farmers Daughter cocktail and the Snapper Special. No complaints, we will definitely be back again!

As always exactly what we expect and especially even at different locations! We have been to Sevierville, Downtown Knoxville, and West Knoxville locations and have been pleased with each! I love seafood and for the area it is one of the better seafood restaurants (in my opinion) in the area! We will definitely be back and as always looking forward to it!

Toti was an absolutely amazing server!!! The food was fantastic. To the black and seared scallops to the crab bisque soup. Everything was phenomenal. Couldn’t ask for a better dinner especially with two kids. The environment was exquisite, and the bar service was amazing. If you’re in this area, I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant it is great food!!!.

Went out a few days after Valentine’s Day with my girlfriend and had a great time. The food was amazing. I had the teriyaki mahi mahi. Our server was just as good, always checking in at the right times and watching for when our next course should come out. 10/10 would come back again.

Knoxville West Location. Professional and courteous wait staff. Attention to detail is apparent both in the front and back of house. Management is superlative and fosters a sense of family with their patrons. All the food is fresh and prepared to perfection. I would give more stars if I could. For reference; I’m a super picky customer with high expectations. Chesapeake’s checks all the boxes. I highly recommend the clam chowder, crab bisque, any steak and all the seafood! Oh, and they have the best key lime pie with Chantilly cream. Thank you for making our time there so memorable and complete. Being there for an elderly family member’s string of events over several years was difficult, but this place felt like being home. Thank you Chesapeak’s for caring and providing an unexpected place of respite. I will go back given the opportunity since I am from Austin, TX. Your Loyal Patrons - Dia and family.

The Fried Seafood platter (now $40) was a mountain of delicious items, served with breads and a tasty spinach bake. But I was disappointed when I arrived at the time I had reserved online (with a text confirmation I showed them) and was told I had no reservation. So I sat in the bar area. My waiter was apologetic but the server first tried to give my meal to a nearby table. Note that prices have increased from those posted here.

Dined at Chesapeake‘s on Parkside Drive twice in the last few weeks. Service was superb the first time with Arnold as our waiter. Arnold was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, service with our waiter Branden the second time was so-so. Branden was sullen and inattentive. He seemed to be burned out. For a seafood restaurant this far from the coast, Chesapeake‘s food is excellent. Everyone at our table loved their food. I ordered the seafood platter both times, first time the broiled and second time the fried. Both platters were delicious. The portions are more than ample. Most of us walked away with doggy bags.

It was better than I expected! The drinks arrive a little slowly but they’re tasty and strong, and so does food arrive a little slowly but when it does arrived it’s really not bad. The fried calamari was way too greasy for me but I did like my grilled chicken salat a lot, and it doesn’t happen very often in Knoxville. It’s not a place I’d go for when I go out to eat, but compared to other places in town it’s a great quality for the money you pay!

We had the dinner here Was pretty good the gumbo was very good the flounder was tasting pretty good but not great especially the sides rice ... why so small quantity ..? Other vegetables were very good well made . Nice place to go for dinner

There are some really good things to say about the times we have been to this location but there are also some misses. This latest visit was the best service we have had. We sat at the bar. Heather and another girl (I hate I didn't get her name) were amazing. They were prompt, friendly and attentive. The two times we sat in the dining room the service was mediocre. The 5th star in the service category was earned on our recent visit. The seafood has been top notch each visit. The issue is when you order something other than seafood. One visit my husband ordered steak and it was well done vs the medium rare that was ordered. He ate it without saying anything. This last visit he ordered a medium burger and it came out charred. He only ate half because of it. To their credit, the girl at the bar noticed and notified the manager. The offer was made to make a new burger but he declined because we were almost through eating. Since he declined, they removed the charge from our check. That was appreciated. The Maryland seafood salad is fantastic with good portion sizes of the seafood. The fried shrimp is also delicious. We haven't tried a lot on the menu because it is rather pricey. On another visit, I tried the bisque. It is delicious! We had the calamari appetizer and we are glad we did. I was so excited to start eating it that I didn't take a picture. I do recommend you order it. On a precious visit, a friend and I split the seafood platter. It was great but you better be hungry. It is a lot of food!

Service was wonderful, atmosphere is very nice. The food I got was fine, eggs overcooked and the holendaise was a bit cold. I tried everyone else's food and they were phenomenal, the crab bisque and oysters. You should definitely go, but don't get the salmon and eggs.

The place was absolutely packed. We sat in the bar area because it was no wait. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable but was moving so fast I didn't get his name. That's okay they gotta make those tips. Great atmosphere lots to look at and enjoy. I was truly disappointed with the scallops they seemed under cooked on inside almost raw. The Mac and spinach didn't have enough spinach. Glad I didn't order more food. His gentleman Jack was as it should be.

P
Pamela Woodard

I had the broiled seafood platter and there was so much food it could be shared. All of the seafood was truly excellent! My only complaint is that the appetizers of calamari and onion rings were very disappointing, both really greasy and the calamari was small and tough/chewy and overly breaded.

z
zuluvol “ZuluVol”

Both downtown and Parkside locations are great with the later being more contemporary and open with a much larger bar area. Food is consistently good with generous portions. Specials menus are always solid and offe nice additions to the already large menu. At the Parkside location do not let them seat you near a the large, noisy entrance to the kitchen. Also, don't try to order your martini as a "Gibson" as they apparently don't have cocktail onions anymore. One of the best of the few seafood restaurants in the city.

D

For a seafood place I was not impressed, service was outstanding, atmosphere was great. Lobster was overall tasteless and bland even with seasoning and butter. The BBQ shrimp app was not up to par. Crab cheese dip/ fondue was excellent. The mussels and oysters were literally so dry that we opted not to eat them out of concern for health. Been to a lot of seafood places and this one was a complete let down! Not even shading the business but they need to really either overhaul their supplier or get down on the Monday night cooking team to help them improve. The steak was a 10/10 244$ bill and honestly for what? I’m not complaining about the price of items I get that seafood in a land locked state can be pricey but the quality is what really threw me off. I’m hoping it was just an off night. Can’t say enough about the waiter tho, he was awesome let my daughter see a lobster out of the holding tank and made sure we didn’t want for anything. The staff honestly saved the entire experience.

Nice place, nice decor and service. I was very disappointed with the food. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my wife got the platter. The platter was a platter in that it was on a big platter type plate, the amount of food did not match, and it wasn't anything to write home about either. The scampi was nearly floating in butter. I couldn't eat but two bites and my wife couldn't either. We were not charged for the shrimp scampi but seriously I cannot believe as much as they charge the food is such low quality. Bread isn't very good either.

We went to Chesapeake’s to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday, and for a $203 bill (for 3 people), I expected far better food and service. Sadly, it was a letdown from start to finish. • Timing: We had to wait a long time between courses — first the salads, then quite a gap before the entrées arrived. • Food temperature: Nothing came out hot. Not cold, but lukewarm at best. • Steak: Came out undercooked (still red inside) and had to be sent back. • Baked potatoes: Not fully cooked, had to request replacements. • Shrimp: No seasoning at all, just bland. • Salads: Looked like they were poured straight from a bag — clumped together and unappealing. • Clam strips: My mom’s were fried so hard they were chewy and unpleasant. • Overall taste: Most of the fried food seemed to be just heavy breading tossed into grease with no real seasoning. By the time more issues came up, I didn’t even want to keep sending things back — we just tried to eat what we could. This was supposed to be a special night out, but the quality and execution of the food didn’t come close to matching the price. Everything looked better than it tasted, and it’s not a place I can recommend based on this visit. (Photos attached show the actual dishes we received.) I didn’t get a picture of the steak it has been sent back

I recently visited this location in West Knoxville for a staff celebratory dinner to recognize several employees who had been promoted. Some members of our group had never been there before and weren’t big seafood eaters, but they were able to find options that appealed to them— one chose the fish and chips. After our meals arrived, everyone seemed to be enjoying their food until one person in our party discovered a piece of plastic underneath one of her pieces of fish. Understandably confused, she asked, “Am I eating plastic?” We brought this to the attention of the manager, Russell. The interaction that followed was… awkward, to say the least. We calmly pointed out the plastic and let him know we simply wanted him to be aware of the issue. After a long pause, he rambled on about how the kitchen has multiple stations and it seemed a piece of a sauce pack or something may have fallen off. So then there was another awkward exchange, like what were we supposed to say okay cool thanks? We don't care how the plastic may got there the plastic was there. So then he finally asked if she wanted another piece of fish. She declined, and we reiterated that we just wanted him to know what had happened. Another awkward silence followed before he finally said, “Dessert’s on me,” and walked away. As I sat there thinking about how much our group was spending that evening, the lack of concern started to bother me. I asked our waitress to have Russell return to the table. When he did, I told him that offering just a dessert didn’t feel sufficient given that we found plastic in someone’s meal. At that point, he became defensive and insisted that he had planned to comp the dish as well, something none of us had heard him say previously. He did remove the item from the bill and comped the dessert, but the interaction left a sour impression. For the remainder of the evening, Russell passed by our table multiple times without making eye contact, checking on us, or offering any kind of apology. It felt dismissive and unprofessional, which is unfortunate because our server, Mason, was absolutely fantastic. I’ve dined here several times with my company in the past and always had good experiences, but after this visit, I don’t plan to return. Good management is about how you handle mistakes, and in this case, it was handled very poorly.

Deeply disappointing – rude service, bad food, and overpriced. Please read before you go. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel a responsibility to share what happened so others don’t go through the same terrible experience we did. We were a group of three adults and one child. Our English isn’t perfect, but we try our best, and we believe that kindness and patience in customer service should be universal – unfortunately, that was not what we received here. When ordering, the waiter showed clear impatience. He sighed, shook his head, and made us feel like we were a burden. It was uncomfortable from the very beginning. Then came the food. One of the oysters we ordered was clearly bad – it smelled off and tasted spoiled. When I asked the waiter about it, he just said “I don’t know.” I told him that’s not an acceptable answer, especially for a $4 oyster. He took it away and came back holding another oyster in his bare hand (not even on a plate), saying it was a different kind. It was still clearly not fresh. When I tried to explain again, the waiter actually told me to stop talking – not once, but twice. I was shocked. I had paid over $300 for this meal, and I was being told to be quiet just for raising a valid concern. It felt incredibly disrespectful and humiliating. Throughout the entire meal, there was basically no service. No one cleared our plates. No one refilled drinks until my glass had been empty for a while. The level of service was honestly worse than a buffet. The only positive thing I can mention is that the manager came over and listened to us. He tried to comfort us, which we appreciated – but the damage was done. The food quality was inconsistent, and the service was just unacceptable. This restaurant charges premium prices, but delivers low-quality food and shocking customer service. The environment might look nice, but behind the surface is a place that does not value its customers. I would never return here, and I strongly warn others to think twice. No one deserves to be treated this way. It’s been a day since this experience, and we are still upset. I hope this review protects others from going through what we did.

My wife and I dined at Chesapeake's yesterday, and I feel it’s important to bring this to your attention because our experience raised serious food-safety concerns. This used to be our favorite place to eat, but our last two visits have been extremely disappointing. On our previous visit, my medium-rare steak arrived well-done. It took nearly 15 minutes to get a replacement, and by the time it came out correctly, I wasn’t even hungry anymore. Yesterday was far worse. We ordered a dozen oysters, and while most were fine, the last couple had a strong rotten smell. I accidentally tasted one that was clearly spoiled and immediately spit it out. Shortly after, our steak and lobster arrived, and the lobster reeked strongly of ammonia. I barely made it to the restroom before getting sick. I could taste that ammonia the entire drive home. While the lobster was removed from the bill, frankly the entire meal should’ve been. The steak had almost no flavor, and the experience as a whole was ruined. What shocked me even more was the waiter casually mentioning that “lobster smelling like ammonia is a common problem.” That is absolutely unacceptable and extremely concerning from a food-safety standpoint. I’m letting you know because this should never happen to any guest. I hope you take this seriously.
