Opinions de Tutu's Lafayette
One of the musts in Lafayette! Love it for brunch or lunch on the weekends. Nothing fancy but consistently solid.
This is one of our favorite family restaurants. The wait staff are all very nice. They have coloring for the kids. Service is speedy. They make a fantastic Caesar salad and ribeye. My kids love the cheese pizza and mussels. And to top it off I can get a great margarita. Highly recommend.
A quick unexpected stop. Food was fantastic. Perfect lamb chops. Brussels were awesome. Music was the perfect vibe. I would totally come back here
Wow! What a great experience. My husband and I went to dinner last night and our server was Jason and he was exceptional!! He’s only there on Sundays unfortunately but if you get a chance to go in make sure you ask for Jason. I love this restaurant and will be returning back for the great service.
I came in excited to try the pork chop, and it did not disappoint—it was absolutely fantastic and deserves every bit of the hype. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and easily one of the best. But as much as I want to rave about the food, I have to give just as much credit to Sarah. Her service was nothing short of spectacular—warm, attentive, and the kind of energy that elevates the whole dining experience. She made the evening feel special, and I left not only impressed with the meal but genuinely grateful for her care. Honestly, I’m not sure what will bring me back.
My son and I stopped by for breakfast while his mom was running some errands. He loved the potatoes and chicken apple sausages while I gulped down the Benedict. Everything was cooked perfectly and served quickly though the place was pretty busy. Everyone around us was having a wonderful time and that just made it perfect.
Best neighborhood restaurant in the Bay Area. Love this spot, service is great and friendly staff. Menu has something for everyone and their brunch is phenomenal! Surprisingly good cocktails as well. Many dishes are better than too fine dining restaurants for half the price. Highly recommend checking out their market as well which is like the best of a Wholefoods and farmers market combined. They carry some great wines at fair prices and the premade food sections is incredible, everything is easy to heat up at home and delicious. Best part is all the ingredients are locally sourced and mostly organic.
Tutu's (formerly called Chow) is a combination of restaurant, bar, and indoor market. All dishes are prepared with local, organic ingredients, which are also sold in their small market. The menu consists mostly of salads, sandwiches, tacos, and burgers. The food quality was good, but the prices were high, even for Lafayette. Fast and friendly service. Free refills on ice teas. Indoor and outdoor seating.
My spouse and I enjoyed a late lunch on the patio of Tu-Tu's. Geraldo was our attentive, pleasant server. The outdoor tables are well-placed for adequate shade and privacy. Our food was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. Photo is an open-face tuna melt on delicious bread with avocado on top. My salad was super fresh and perfect with the light house dressing. It was our first visit; certainly not our last! The owner's online description represents the restaurant well. Adequate paid parking is convenient. Check it out!
Ok, i love this place! We have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so reliably goooood! We popped in a few weeks ago on a cold rainy morning. It was so warm and welcoming inside with the fireplace flames dancing in the background. Big warm smiles from the employees also greeted us at the door, such a nice start to the day. We ordered classic eggs bene and chris got the wild mushroom scramble. Because cold weather makes you hungrier, we threw in a cinnamon french toast too:-) Perfect just wonderful, all of it.! The buttery, silky hollandaise was generously slathered over tender, yolky poached eggs. The omelette was tender and loaded with spinach and rich mushrooms. Tutu's provides real maple syrup with the baguettes sliced to make the rich and tender cinnamon french toast. Yummmm! Fast forward to a sunny, warm afternoon last week. We were at the end of our Lafayette Circle Nosh and Drink Crawl (all those great restaurants in such close proximity, we are such a lucky community). We sat at the counter bar by the espresso machine. Inspired, Christopher ordered an Espresso martini. (He has been watching too much Below Deck) I requested a nicely chilled rose, mmm. We wanted a final nosh so the server suggested the charcuterie platter, although she did warn us that it was a large portion . Such a fabulous recommendation! See pix below, there was so much on this board, just look at it! Fruit, cold cuts and amazing cheeses. Did I already say that we love this place?!
Yum! There are so many delicious dishes to try at Tutu's! I highly recommend their appetizers! Their summer roll is light and refreshing! Their calamari is tender and crispy! I really enjoyed their corn and tomato pizza! So good! Please save room for desserts! My friend Tony is the pastry man! Oh their seasonal crisp with strawberries and rhubarb ... Tart and sweet and full of flavor! Their flourless chocolate cake is rich and delicious. Lemon pie... So good too! And apple pie, classic pie, fantastic crust and flavor. Our servers were very attentive and cordial. Go and enjoy! They also have a market, so you can pick up their food to go!
It's always ok - consistent, reliably good food. If you like what they offer, you'll always get something you like. The quality doesn't waiver. I'm there every other week for lunch. You can order a NY steak that's not on the menu, and they'll get it from their grocery section, and it'll be really good. The entree prices are reasonable, the drinks expensive.
This was my first time visiting Tutu's for a reserved group dinner. The food was delicious; the chicken enchilada plate is seasoned well and I had a crumble for dessert. As for the service, our waitress was very attentive and punctual. However, there was some miscommunication with the owner that didn't sit right with me. When I arrived (on time), I told him the reservation name but he claimed there was no reservation under that name, so I thought I was early and left for 15 minutes. I came back to check again and he said there was still no reservation, but a group table actually seated in the restaurant. Turns out they were there the entire time and I ended up being late. I wasn't expecting an apology from the owner, but he didn't acknowledge the mistake at all. I felt like he could have been more helpful instead of "Nothing I can do about that" attitude.
We had breakfast here. There were four of us. The service was very good. The waiter boy was friendly and at the same time did not interfere with our communication with friends. I am satisfied with my breakfast. It was very delicious. Friends ordered a pancake. But it was too lemony. They couldn't finish their pancakes. Of course, the topic of tastes is specific. Someone will like a richer taste, and someone will not. In general, I liked the place. There was also delicious craft beer. I recommend to visit. Maybe this place will become your favorite!)
The service was great! The atmosphere was fine. The food presentation was great but extremely bland. It felt like there was no seasoning in any of our dishes. We got the veggie burger, hamburger which oddly came on a baguette and the Thai chili noodles which was more like a thin Thai peanut soup with unseasoned meat and noodles. The sweet potato fries were fine
Requested a side of cocktail sauce for a $15 calamari appetizer because it is served with tartar sauce (unhealthy mayonnaise and relish). We were presented with a 1oz serving of watery marinara sauce that was not only unusually small for three people, it was definitely insufficient for the roughly 1/2 lb of calamari. So, I asked for a second such side, and all hell broke loose: - It took five minutes to get the attention of the half-empty restaurant's staff to request the condiment. - When I asked for the additional marinara, I was WARNED that ordering a third would result in a surcharge. Not that I wanted a third or was concerned with the price, why was I threatened with asking for sauce? - About ten minutes later, the manager came to the rescue. But, only in his mind because he did not have any marinara sauce for our then long - cold appetizer. Instead, he professed his deep concern as to whether we wanted the 1 oz marinara dip to be warm or cold. At this moment when I had to endure his gaslighting, it had been at least 15 minutes since the calamari was placed on the table. And, I was just trying to get some marinara to share with my family. Having worked at several restaurants and dined around the world I cannot, for the life of me, understand what kind of petty BS happened to make a marinara request go nuclear in the kitchen to the point that the manager resorted to gaslighting us about a 1 oz marinara side's temperature preference 15 minutes after the plate was put on the table. I really hope they do better in the future. But, I won't be there to see it. Avoid Tutu's
