Mamón is a popular spot for authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. Customers rave about the chips, salsa bar, and generous portions. Some have experienced inconsistent service or flavor, but overall, it's a highly-rated casual dining experience.
Tip: Don't miss the salsa bar! Also, check out Taco Tuesday for a great deal on tacos.
Great food at great prices, even outside of taco Tuesday. I'm a fan of the carnitas, shredded beef and fish personally. Salsas are unmemorable and I usually go without here; very flavorful food even so. My one minor complaint is they have homemade tamales on the menu and every time I ask they are sold out no matter the day or time. I just want to try the damn things! Taco Tuesday is crowded, there is often a fast moving but long line. You might have trouble finding a table inside. Bottom line, come here. You'll enjoy it!
Awesome food! My friend has a HUGE burrito (wet) with the green sauce. I had the combo platter with 2 chicken enchiladas...delicious! I hope to be back next year and get to drop in again!
I love this place for lunch. They have very good food and service. Additionally, I was surprised when I asked to receive an alternate side (salad) instead of fries on one of their lunch specials. They listened and accommodated.
Food was awesome! Very tasty, good portions on entrees and sides alike. My only gripe was the packaging choices made for our carry out meal: Two big styrofoam packages for two little tostadas. A big extra aluminum container for a single enchilada that could easily have fit with the other two I ordered in one package. Maybe someone has complained in the past about their food being packed too tight but I would say they could save some money and the environment by being a bit more stingy with their packaging.
Great authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price unlike chipotle, and a lot of other California Mexican food places.
I always enjoy eating here. The food and salsas are delicious and the staff are friendly and efficient
I drive 9 miles to come here for lunch or supper. Really good Chili Rellenos, handmade on premises. Great fish tacos. Actually everything is handmade on premises. I don't think anything is pre-frozen. Great wait staff and the kitchen, which you can see from the dining area, is immaculate. Give it a try. I'm pretty sure it won't disappoint
Cuca’s is amazing! We used them for catering a graduation party. Their level of service and professionalism was outstanding! They truly care about helping their customers get the best deal to fit their budget. Now onto the food...so good. We have chicken, carnitas and steak taco bar. All the meats were tasty and excellent. The salsa, some of the best! My family kept commenting on how yummy the beans were. Cuca’s thank you for providing a delicious meal for our family and friends! Never hesitate to use this company for a catering event.
Our family had Cuca’s catered, everything was perfect! Emerald was such a big help to us and we are truly grateful for for the experience we had. I want to thank everyone who took the effort to make our event special. The enchiladas, chicken, carne asada and sides were perfect! Thank you again for your outstanding service.
We usually go here for their excellent tacos, today I decided to have their cheeseburger. This burger is better than In and Out! This will be my new burger spot lol thanks Cuca's!!
Emerald and her team made the food for my word annual summer party and everything was excellent. From beginning to end it was a great experience. The food is delicious, fresh and the portions are very generous. Thanks for everything!
I love the environment here easy and friendly. The chille relleno is my favorite! Not many places make it so well. The food is decent, but you need the really great fresh salsa to round most of the other foods that are seasoned, sort of plain or mild. This means my kids can eat here, and I need to add the delicious salsa. My only criticism is that they are always out of Mexican coke. Lastly, great abondigas as well.
Decent food for the money. I had the chicken enchilada and my wife had the tamales, we both liked it.
We love Cuca's! Affordable and very good standard Mexican food. Their Chile rellenos are very good and consistently mild. Get a three item combo for the best value.
We ordered Cuca’s for an end of season Little League party and they were amazing. We ended up with way too much food but got a great price. All of the parents were impressed and I would do it again in a heart beat!
Sometimes I come here for Taco Tuesday and they have a great $3 deal for tacos. Normally get the crispy chicken tacos which a great and for a quarter more you can upgrade to fish, which I recommend soft. Have lots of salsa to pick from so you can load your tacos up with all the sauce. Yum.
Stopped in here for lunch. Got two chicken tacos. They were good and the jalapeño salsa was an excellent topping.
Awesome little place here in Foothill Ranch, Ca. Lots of parking. They offer dine-in and pick up. Sit inside or sit outside, last night was just perfect to sit outside and enjoy the perfect weather and delicious food! You order at the cashier, take a number, grab your drink, grab your utensils and salsas, and then find a place to sit! Good amount of sits inside and out. Perfect place for family dine-in, groups or even if you fly solo. Lots of choices to choose from. If you don’t eat spicy, make sure you tell them. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and kind. When the food is ready, they’ll bring it to your table! We tried their new items, the shrimp tacos, mine came with beans and rice for $14. The tacos were filled with a really good amount of food, they were very filling, plus the rice and beans. It was all well cooked, fresh, and delicious. Mine was spicy, I forgot to tell them about it lol, I don’t eat spicy, but I still ate them because they were mouth watering lol. They also make their own chips, my wife really enjoyed them, and so did I, pairing them with a guacamole dip or the other salsas. It was really good to be honest. I’ll be coming back next weekend Lord willing! Hope my daughter likes them too! The atmosphere inside was nice and relaxing. Nice decorations, and very spacious the restaurant!
What an awesome lunch here. It reminds me of the kind of food my late Grandma used to cook us. The sauce on top of the tamale was amazing. They have several hot sauces to pick from and other condiments. I highly recommend you eat here.
Great atmosphere, great food. Abondigas were excellent. I can't to come back here again
Delicious food, I had the Fiesta burrito chimichanga style (deep fried with sour cream and guacamole) which the owner recommended and I am definitely glad I went with her choice cause it was by far one of the best burritos I have had in a long time. The burritos are plenty large, my coworkers got taquitos and flautas and loved them. We also ordered chips and they tasted home made, crispy not too hard and not over salted. I definitely will return here and recommend to anyone looking for a good mexican meal.
I was trying to find places that serve shrimp. I’ve already had shrimp tacos this week, but today I tried the shrimp burrito, so good, amazing flavors I have to say really good and is listed as a new item on menu
DELICIOUS FOOD! Every welcoming. Best fish tacos in the valley.

Salsa bar! Great food! Not too pricey! Spanish music! All very very nice!
I love this place a lot, as it’s conveniently located, has decent prices, and has tasty as heck food. TL;DR satisfying food and price-to-portion ratio, with a nice casual atmosphere. I've always been an enchilada gal. Shrimp enchilada, cheese enchilada, the gamut of protein -- all of it is tasty. The combo platter with one, sometimes two cheese enchiladas is a platter I get every time I come to Cuca's, and I essentially lick my plate clean. I've tried many of their dishes -- the tacos, especially on Taco Tuesdays, are quite good. But, again, I'm an enchilada gal. Weirdly enough, I have been here when their food wasn't as good -- but not for me. When they are a little too busy, they seem to rush their cooking and become a bit inconsistent; I've brought a lot of friends and family here over the past year or two, and while my enchiladas have always been delicious, in one out of nine or ten times, one of my friends/family members has a somewhat-disappointing meal. My mother once got an enchilada and taco combo meal, and while MY food was great, her enchilada was hard on the bottom and undercooked in the middle, and her taco seemed a bit wilted. She's since gone once or twice and had fine meals, but she's hesitant to go as much as before. I don't care. My enchiladas reign supreme. Their enchilada sauce is perfectly balanced; it's a bit simple, with no excessive chunks, but by no means is it plain. While their carnitas is delicious, the simplicity of two cheese enchiladas in that heavenly sauce, with an absolute mess of rice and beans on the side on the warm plate, combines into a heavenly coalescence of Mexican ambrosia. Toss your salsa of choice on top and enjoy. My friends can have their inconsistent dishes. I will eat here until this place closes or until I die, whichever comes first.
I had a bean burrito and it was good, but not exceptional. However the chips were AMAZING! Best tasting chips I've had in years. Pair them with the amazing salsa bar, (loved the pico) and you have a winning combination.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere. FRESH food!! Chips are warm, light and delicious. Salsa is prefect! Love that they put out little peppers too. Menu has all the best items. Fajitas were our favorite. Tacos and burritos also a hit.
I prepare Mexican food at home. I've also eaten at many different Mexican restaurants. That said, Cuca's restaurant is the best Mexican food I've had. It's authentic and tastes like it's homecooked. The people who work there always make us feel welcomed. The atmosphere is causal and relaxed. It's our favorite Mexican restaurant. I highly recommend it.

The staff is awesome. Great guacamole and salsa. The food can be shading and then every one in five times it just doesn’t seem to be as great as the other four times. It’s so strange. My husband likes the taquito burrito and I really enjoy the veggie quesadilla. The soup is also very good. I got the mini cheese and bean burritos for a staff party and they were a huge hit!
The shredded chicken is excellent. Highly recommend the chicken enchilada. They have black beans but there was no flavor. Tasted like it came straight out of a can. The fish taco was OK. The rice is delicious.
Good cucas, not as good as in Redlands or Yucaipa but hit the spot. Burritos were a bit "loose" on the wrap but all good flavors.
The food here is decent. I did notice though recently the size of the burritos have gone smaller and the price raised a little. I would prefer consistency.
So I came here for the first time with 2 friends that come on a regular basis. We all ordered 2 crispy tacos. Well,1 taco was the crispy taco shell, and the other taco shell looked like one of the fast food places taco shells. Other than that, it was pretty good.

Casual Mexican food restaurant. Reasonably priced. My husband like his carbonara burrito. My tamale was okay but the carnitas taco was great! My grand daughter's child taco was not so great. The fries are frozen and taste that way. Chips were not great.
1350 for Carne Asada fries they were OK decent size plate filled up one person pretty well. Not a lot of meat but still tasty and fresh. The salsa were OK too. On Wednesdays there’s a free kids meal if you buy a drink don’t forget.
I’ve been here a number of times and we enjoy the food. But the service is not always great and this last time when I called to order for a pick up, I was left on hold while listening to the person take order after order. Unfortunately, I had to hang up over five minutes later and then call back. The same person answered and said “Thanks for holding,” and I replied. “I’ve been on hold and then I had to call back.” She replied “Well I had a long line of people.” I asked “Then how come there was two minutes of no orders but I listened to noises in the restaurant?” And she told me she was by herself. The rudely asked “What can I do for you.” That was ridiculous. I called, I am the next in line, and the next person should have to wait for me to get my order taken. The people who take the orders are not always pleasant or attentive. They seem distracted by phones and conversations, all the time. Frustrated.

Cuca's Mexican Food at 26676 Portola Pkwy in Lake Forest, CA, provided a mixed dining experience. The chicken burrito and all-meat carnitas burrito each earned 3 stars, while the 2 chicken tacos impressed with 4 stars. Unfortunately, the 3 chile relleno platters were served without tortillas, and the chilies were uncomfortably cold, earning them 2 stars. This oversight significantly impacted the overall satisfaction, resulting in a 2-star rating for the overall dining experience.
The last 2 times I've eaten here I have puked afterwards. Not sure why. The first time I got the fiesta burrito, which was delicious, but did not settle with me. Tonight I came here with family and got their burger because I wasn't too hungry and that didn't settle with me either. In all honesty, no BS, no exaggerating, I have only puked 2 times this year and both times were only after eating here. The taste of the food is good and the service is good. But if you have a weak stomach I would not recommend this place. I just haven't had a good experience.

My daughter moved into this area recently and we've been trying to find a local Authentic Mexican restaurant. We've tried a few and then hoped Cuca's would be our go to spot. Sorry to find out that we couldn't even enjoy our food and only ate a portion and discarded the rest.. Please Cuca's, up your authenticity for those of us who know what tasty Mexican food should taste like. Wish you well.
Ordered a wet carne asada burrito for takeout and got home only to find that they didn’t actually put any meat in it. Sauce and burrito were still pretty tasty and the people were nice but I’m incredibly disappointed in their inability to get my order right.
Pretty Disappointed with the Staff. I placed my phone order and went there about 2:30 on a Friday. When I arrived I saw my food sitting on the counter, and the staff struggling with a complicated phone order. Two people were ahead of me on line looking frustrated. About ten minutes later I got to the register and protested that my food was cold. The lady behind the counter was OK with me getting cold food, as long as the big phone order was done first! Told me there was nothing she could do about my cold burritos which I paid almost $30 for. I let her know that I would not be returning.
Worst customer service ever. I will NOT return here. First off- they only brought half of our order and forgot about the rest. We had to go up and ask where our order was after they served several people who got there after us. No apology given. Then the order wasn’t right and they refused to fix it. So we paid for our meals and didn’t get what we ordered. The young ladies working there refused to fix it- that is not how you gain customers. I would not recommend going here. I would give zero stars if possible.
I ordered 2 crunchy beef tacos and 1 minute later they were ready? Tacos were cold everything they use had already been sitting there pre-made. No cheese just tons of lettuce and a tiny bit of salsa. Sorry but worst tacos I've ever had
I hate giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest. I was craving some Mexican food and decided to try Cuca’s. I regret it. I live in a place with very diverse , rich, flavorful Hispanic and Latin American food. Cuca’s is very, very Americanized leaving much to be desired flavor wise. Now, maybe it was just the chicken quesadilla I ordered, and for comparison, Taco Bell quesadillas have more flavor. Personally, I would not risk ordering something else to see if it is more flavorful. Also, random side note, I am not sure the restroom is ADA compliant. You open the door and the urinal is less than 2 feet from the door. Not sure a wheelchair could easily get in.
Been here multiple times prices are good, unfortunately zero flavor on their meat. Seen a couple eating some chicken nachos, so definitely was gonna try that. Ordered them and their was no flavor. Their chicken was dry and completely white, no seasoning no flavor. I was only able to eat ¼ of the plate. Later day came back to try their most ordered burrito and same thing zero flavor. Ate ½ of it and left. Came back yesterday and asked to try their Enchiladas. I specified and requested to season their meat and they said no definitely not its already cooked. So I got their Enchiladas had them put extra red sauce on so that way I hopefully could finish my plate. And I was only able to eat half of them till I ran out of red sauce. They do have really good chips and salsa tho.
Horrible experience!!! i ordered my food 20 minutes over the phone to pick up, and when I got there it wasn't even that busy it looked like the cashier didn't know what she was doing. She put order in when I arrived and did it wrong !!. I had to wait about another 20 minutes.. simply just wrong..
