The food was delicious - BEST gravy I've had in my LIFE - and the ambiance is so warm and cozy. Great for breakfast before hitting the slopes, or after early morning paddleboarding.

Swiss crepes with the house boysenberry syrup- super tangy and yummy! Also not pictured is Tracy's Temptation omelet with avocado added. Omlette was packed full of toppings! Not overloaded with cheese. Also ordered biscuits and gravy, honestly some of the best meat gravy I've ever had! Biscuit wasn't dry and was very fluffy! Coffee was hot and very good! 10/10 recommend!

Our first visit and hopefully not our last. We had a fantastic meal and awesome service from Flor. The corned beef hash and home fries were great!

Highly recommend for brunch! Delicious food with great portions. Good and quick service as well.

Nice good breakfast. Short drive from the area casinos. Everyone was friendly and the service was pretty quick. Chicken fried steak was so good you'll eat it all before speaking a word. Side note, the blueberry muffins need more blueberries. Please refer to the movie Casino as a reference point.

This was our first time stopping here for breakfast. Best decision we've ever made. 👏 The entire experience was amazing. The staff was super friendly, starting with Wendy and her awesome smile. One of the hostesses took notice of me drinking all my water fast and just brought me a huge ice water. The waitress was helpful and very attentive. To top it off the food was perfect, best waffle I've ever had in my life. This will be a regular stop from now on. Thank you. 👌😁

The food was delicious the service was outstanding. But $2.99 extra for salsa is confusing 😕 The waitress never mentioned we would be charged cuz I would not have asked. Definitely will come back. The restaurant was very hot. The heat was cranked up😢

Amazing breakfast place. We had an omelette and the two meats plate. The star though, was the Swiss crepes! Absolutely delicious! Great family friendly atmosphere, staff was very attentive. A definite must try!

Hands down the best breakfast diner experience. The food is flavorful and fresh. It’s busy but they do a great job at getting you seated in a timely manner.

The portions are huge for the price!! Not only that, but the staff was so sweet and kind, also very accommodating for big groups. The staff also came around quite often asking us how we were doing which was super sweet. Great place go eat before hitting the slopes!

Great food with good sized portions. The staff is very nice & attentive. The atmosphere is vintage but charming. Usually 10-15 min wait for a table at rush hour but worth the wait

Food was delish! 🤤🤤🤤 Jorge and Cynthia were both nice. Couldn’t ask for a better place. Update-Went back the next day. Beth & Roberto assisted us, they were both amazing too. I did recommend to the manager Salvador that a house salsa would make this place an even better hit. Btw Salvador was a great manager.

Transport to Switzerland in this mystical breakfast nook chalet. Super nostalgic left not Abt perhaps getting some pasture raised eggs, this place gets busy after 9 probably. Biscuit n gravy was amazing

Visiting Heidi's Pancake House made me feel like I had the sweetest Swiss grandparents who were elated that I had come to visit. The decor is charming and cozy, the food is simple yet delicious, but by far the best part was to be greeted by the amazing individuals who make up the staff. I have to give a loud shout out to Roberto and Amanda for taking such great care of my wife and myself. I can't wait to come back for another wonderful visit!

The best!!! Wait time us 35 to 45 Min. But worth it. Food is delicious. Full of flavors. Pancakes were some of the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Don't think it over GO!!!

Heidi's Pancake House in South Lake Tahoe is a breakfast favorite! The pancakes are fluffy and delicious, with plenty of tasty options to choose from. The portions are generous, the service is friendly, and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to start your day.

Heidi’s pancake house caught our attention as we drove by to Lake Tahoe, it has the cutest building. The food and the service were great. They have gluten free options such as pancakes and other goods. Loved the atmosphere as well.

Service is exceptional. Atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. Breakfast on Saturday morning. Wife got French Melt which was great - but unto our ignorance it was more of a lunch type of french toast, but again very good. Oatmeal and biscuits were ok. We will definitely return, but I do have a different local Breakfast fave- however great job Heidis.

Manager interacted, I believe Helen was our waitress. She was great. Stop in every time we come to Tahoe

Diner style pancake house with a fairly extensive menu! It’s a great stop at Tahoe, so good in fact that the wife and I went back the next day for brunch. Order the free flow coffee, and sit back for quick service and a hearty meal. It can get crowded on holidays, and advance reservations are not allowed. So on peak days, gather the crew and print your name on their wait list upon arrival. It takes about 20mins to get your group seated, so be patient. The flow moves fairly quickly however, and they attend to guests via a first come first serve basis. The next time we visit Tahoe, we’re definitely stopping by Heidi’s again.

T
Todd I

Great atmosphere, good service, underwhelmed by the food… perhaps we ordered the wrong items… The menu is vast, so pretty sure we could be more adventurous in our choices, so we’ll be happy to try them a 3rd time. Ample free parking and delightful staff.

Now this is what I call a perfect diner experience! They have everything you could want and more. Servings are very large and I enjoyed the additional orange with all orders for a take away. There are also fun decorations around the diner which add some fun and spunk the overall personality of Heidi’s. Not too long of a wait either and we went during prime time for brunch on a Sunday.

S
Shivani Pathak

One of the best brunch spots in South Lake Tahoe! We visited on a Sunday morning and found it very crowded, but the food was well worth the wait. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

T
The Mighty Trogdor

Great place to stop. An eclectic menu focused on breakfast foods including bacon waffles and sweet crepes. The atmosphere is like a swiss chalet with all the wall decorations to support that theme. The staff is incredibly friendly. The cashier even spent an extra five min giving me advice on the best places to go tubing. A little pricey. Each breakfast entry is around $12, but they come in large portions and some even include a side of pancakes and a muffin. Popular and crowded. Expect a wait. Parking is ample.

Absolutely outstanding experience very nice people very nice atmosphere and I mean does it hurt that this place is named Heidi's when my name is Heidi? Of course not, how awesome! Most importantly the food was spectacular, outstanding no complaints whatsoever we definitely would recommend and also we went two times so obviously that means something. Much appreciated hospitality and service, definitely tipped for the greatness of service etc etc.. 👏🏼👏🏼 Probably the only thing I would say is it seemed to me personally that the prices were a bit high but what the heck they were worth it! Five stars!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We always stop here in the morning of our check out from our hotel. My wife gets her usual pancakes and bacon, and I get a fancy of that morning because of the tremendous list of choices. There is always a wait, but it moves quite smoothly, with friendly staff and hostesses. Always the best. Thank you.

Loved this place. Ate there at 9:30 on a Tuesday, and were seated right away. There was a 20 to 30 minute wait by 10:30. Servers were friendly and prompt. Coffee was very good. Our order was ready in 10 minutes or so. We ordered blueberry crepes and over easy eggs with sausage and pancakes. All were delicious. Each plate had a HUGE strawberry as a side. I mean really huge, perfectly ripe and sweet. Really cute decor and the manager checked up on us 4 times! Definitely THE place for a great breakfast.

During my visit this year, I enjoyed their food at family-owned Heidi’s Pancake House. The friendly staff, coupled with the delicious offerings, made the experience even more enjoyable. With over 50 years of history, this restaurant truly values quality and taste, becoming a special place for those seeking both a traditional feel and tasty pancakes.

W

Yogurt crepes were good. Florentine omelette was the best. Highly recommended, and I normally don't like omelettes. Great cabin atmosphere especially when it's snowing outside and they play nice classic Christmas music. The staff was extraordinarily warm and inviting they seemed like family. I know it seems like I'm exaggerating but I'm not.

Hey there my friends! Yesterday on our 6th day at Tahoe we decided to try Heidi’s pancakes house, on the recommendation from the great gentlemen who works the small store at the Hilton Resort. I will say we got the jackpot here! Angelica was out waitress, twice because we ended up going 2 days in a row. (Today too!) I ordered the delicious cheddar and bacon omelette and was able to get pancakes instead of hash browns. Let me tell you the omelette and pancakes are both awesome and delicious. The pancakes were an excellent size too!!! We also ordered waffles which looked and tasted great. Their biscuits and gravy were excellent as well. Everything was great and Angelica was amazing with her personality and service! This place is a must!!!

Got waffles (heavenly and mixed fruit versions), really freshly done and still warm and crisp, topped with light cream. The sliders were also served with crisp bread, fair amount of meat in both that and the skillet. Went twice and would return

Great vibes! Really nice staff, decent price and perfect pancakes. The Raspberry Stack was fantastic just the right amount of tartness and goes great with the whipped butter.

Service staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice ambience. Food was really good. You have to try their pancake!!Just enough fluffiness. Omelette was really good and their sourdough bread is just wow. One of the few places that I tipped 20% because it’s so worth it. And the place offer a slight discount if you pay in cash instead of cards.

A Breakfast must they delivered what they offer the best in town the food is plentiful. I ordered the Denver omelet which has 4 eggs and large pieces of ham and bell peppers and onions. So delicious also the skillets, eggs Benedict all that I saw looks amazing. We also ordered pancakes which were melt in your mouth watering. This can be a little wait but is hands down worth everything. 😎👍👍

Got our name on the list at 10:30am on a Saturday - 30min wait for party of 4. Service was wonderful and friendly. My favorite thing that we ordered were the pancakes! Soft, fluffy, perfectly cooked. Not too sweet! The maple syrup and berry (forgot which kind) syrup were not too sweet either. Their basket of white toast were also really delicious for some reason. Tasted homemade! I didn’t like the biscuits and gravy I ordered. The biscuits were dry and a bit hard, and the gravy wasn’t my favorite. I’ve had better elsewhere. Regardless, on our next trip to Tahoe, we will definitely be back for the pancakes and to try their other dishes! Highlights = Pancakes! Great prices/serving size. Friendly service. Swiss Yodeler (with bacon, pancakes, coffee, white toast) = 10/10 Short Fruit Stack Pancakes with blueberries = 10/10 French Toast Combo = 8/10 Country Breakfast (with ham) = 4/10

My visit to Heidi’s Pancake House was a delightful breakfast adventure. The extensive breakfast menu provided a plethora of options, making it a bit of a challenge to choose just one. From classic to creative, there was something for every palate. Now, let’s talk about the coffee – it was nothing short of a revelation. The rich aroma and smooth flavor of their coffee were invigorating and the perfect way to kickstart my day. It left me feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever lay ahead. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Heidi’s Pancake House for breakfast. The combination of diverse menu choices and the superb coffee experience make it a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic morning meal.

Excellent food. Great service. Always wanted to stop by and glad we finally did. Great atmosphere. Not crowded on a Saturday was nice and a surprise. The bench in the booth was so close that my belly squeezed against the table and we could not move! I felt like I was stuck in a carnival ride with great breakfast! Lol. Next time I will ask for a table as I am not that fat! The muffins were hard as a rock but they replaced it and were good about it. Can't give them 5 stars but we loved the service and food so we will definitely come back!

J
Jesus Bejar

Not a 5 because I’m not dying to go back. But delicious food, great morning atmosphere, big portions, and not slow service. I did beat the rush and it is 2025 in a tourist place so the price seems high but nothing unexpected. Fresh squeezed juice tastes great and I grow and squeeze my own so it was good. Will come back on my second day here for breakfast. Also menu had so many options. If the prices were way less it’d be a 5 star. But that’s just business.

I recently visited Heidi's Lake Tahoe and had a wonderful experience. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made me feel welcome throughout my visit. The ambience of the place was incredibly neat and inviting, creating a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy my meal. Overall, I was highly impressed with Heidi's Lake Tahoe and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a fantastic dining experience. It's certainly deserving of a 4-star review!

C
Cortney Zeiler

The food was great but there are some limitations. They will only do 3 separate checks. And they did not ask what size juice we wanted and we supposedly got the “large” but it was teeny tiny. And no free refills.

A
Angel Clark

Good breakfast place for the whole family. It's huge inside, but definitely get there before 9 am on the weekend if you don't want a wait. They have gluten free (buckwheat) pancakes and the menu also mentions gluten free bread and bun options. I had delicious gf pancakes and my husband had the hash Benedict. If you're a cornbeef hash fan, this place makes theirs in house and doesn't serve you canned hash. I would've given 5 stars, but my sausage links were cold.

K
Ken Johnson

Heidis was busy on a Monday morning, though we didnt have to wait to be seated. Service felt a bit rushed but portions were generous and food was hot and tasty.

J
Jacqueline Negrete

Pretty basic no wow factor in regards to taste of food or food presenatation. Came here for the experience aka the decor and due to reviews. My son ordered French toast and didn't eat it because they tasted sour (it turns out French toast is made with sour dough bread, if we'd known that we would have skipped ordering French toast here)...the banana muffin was too crumbly, when you bite into muffin it crumbles, the consistency is off, doesn't have the moist banana muffin texture

R
Rodrigo Funchal

A fun, breakfast/brunch place in South Lake Tahoe. Depending on when you go it's a long wait time, usually weekends, definitely Sunday. So be prepared to wait. The food omelette was good, nothing over the top, same with the eggs Benedict. The star of the show was the pancakes. (Hence the name of the restaurant). Perfectly fluffy, airy, not too heavy. Add the butter, the strawberry sauce, and maple syrup, you will be in heaven. So get the pancakes for sure. Coffee is unlimited refills with decaf option. No specialty coffee drinks. Overall, it's a good, fun breakfast/brunch spot to go to. Recommend it!

A
Addalyn Brooks

Cozy environment with decent food but pricey. The gravy for the biscuits and chicken fried steak was awesome. Biscuits were large and fluffy. Muffins were large, fluffy, and delicious. I'm told the muffins and biscuits are hit/miss. My bil stated the chicken fried steak was the best he had ever. The meat lovers omlette was good. Pancakes were good. Skillet was OK.

This is staple to the area , perfect location, kind of a must if your in the area. They have great food , the portions are huge. It’s very faced paced , servers on-top of their game. It’s good but you don’t have time to really enjoy the atmosphere & the food cause they so busy serving and trying to get you out the door for the next guest. I get it it’s a popular place & only open till 2 pm. They will not seat your party till entire party is there. They are firm on this. The prices are kind of on the high end I felt . But it’s such a great place with great food, and in our hotel parking lot …I’ll be back.

Joane greeted us at the door, fantastic first impression. All attentive, friendly service, delicious food great portions. They have a veggie sandwich for the vegetarians. Rye bread too. The menu aims to please all dietary needs. Would definitely recommend this eatery.

Went to Heidi's Pancake House in South Lake Tahoe with the fellas. I've been before and thought it was solid, but this time, eh, not so much. Parking was easy, and the staff was awesome. But my steak (King's Breakfast), which I asked for medium, was way rare and tough. Guess I shouldn't expect a steakhouse experience at a pancake place. The vibe was good, though.

Pharuewisa P.

This place is a legend that they have been served breakfast and lunch for many many years. we tried because it’s very close to our hotel. We order simple stuff. I would say it’s classic simple breakfast that u can have. I like the decoration inside. it s remind me of europe. it’s cute place.

C
Camille Rios

The atmosphere is nice, typical breakfast house. The service was great, the hostesses and our waiter were all very nice and friendly. The manager came by to help our non-meat and non-egg eater order because they don't offer a side of sautéed veggies. The only option to get potatoes with veggies on top is to order the whole veggie omelet plate without egg and cheese, however, they still charged extra to add on onions and mushrooms. But all the food tasted great. I had the pancakes, eggs and bacon with a yummy blueberry muffin baked fresh. I would come back here for a yummy breakfast again.

L
LM

The omelette was delicious and a generous portion with potatoes and toast. We were disappointed by the waffle as it’s very small for the price and didn’t have much flavor. Interior was cute and cozy. Feels like grandma’s house.

s
shankesh singh

The place is located near driving distance of heavenly lift. Has plenty parking space and good view of lake. The seating is completely indoor and bookings are required. Food is good and only a few customizations are possible. Service is prompt but at times they mess up with the order, so check twice. Overall a good place to have brunch.

M
Mads Niklas Frost

This is such a wonderful place, the atmosphere is outstanding and the staff is super friendly and it is awesome, the food is pretty good to, I did expect a bit more from the Belgian waffles, for me they felt a bit to much like American waffles and not Belgian! I feel that Belgian waffles are a bit more caramelized on the edges! Besides that, for 2 adults and 2 kids, for breakfast to pay more than $85 is absolutely outrageous! That is general Lake Tahoe prices! You get ripped off! It’s sad that they treat you that way!

Got stranded due to snow storm and stayed at hotel elevation. This was in the same lot so decided to try it. What a pleasant surprise! No wait for a table for our party of 6 around 11am but it did seem to get crowded for lunch when we left. Corned Beef Hash Benedict (4): They executed this very well. The corned beef hash was moist and everything tasted great. The only thing was their home fries didn't have much flavor. It was crisped perfectly but we had to add salt for flavor. Maybe they did that on purpose so you can control it yourself? Carol's Concoction Omelet (4): Another well executed item. Omelet was a good size and all ingredients were fresh. Strawberry Stack of Pancakes (3): They were good and fluffy. The berries were very saucey. The kids liked them. Swiss Crepes (5): This was the surprise of the meal and everyone at our table loved them! We got it plain which just comes with a little sugar and lemon. Surprisingly that lemon and sugar contrast was amazing! The crepes were thin and rolled and the whole dish was just tasty. Overall, great brunch spot with a good menu, execution, and friendly staff.

Hits the spot when I have a craving for pancake and American breakfast food. Gluten-free options available. Good service, decent coffee.

Great swiss styled pancakes place in the heart of the center of South Lake Tahoe. We didn't wait to be seated, and the service was great. However, food served a bit late [10-15 minutes wait]. Hot chocolate was great and pancakes too.. Kids asked for chocolate sauce or Nutella, and they were not available 😕 strawberry sauce served instead [so good yet unsatisfied kiddos]. Swiss crepes were not made Swiss way.. way too thick than they should be .. the taste was good. we ordered the steak and potatoes meal & egg Benedict with salmon and avocado. Food preparation was disappointing, messy plating, as for the sauces, the amount was crazy big and too oily. Overall, it was a nice experience yet very challenging to find a healthy item in the menu. Recommended for families as it's very kids friendly.

R
Roger Sherwood

Wasn't crazy about the flavor of the sausage patty. Biscuits needed more gravy. Pricey. Awesome atmosphere and good service. Coffee wasn't the greatest but I've had worse (I drink it black and unadulterated, so I can taste the differences in coffee more than most people). Came back the next day and I liked my standard bacon and eggs much better. Home fries have some significant heat on them!

H
Heidi

The people that work there were all very nice and attentive. The food was very good, but like most American breakfast, a little on the heavy and sweet side. I had a waffle, and it was a little too filling. Someone else had a crepe, and that was delicious. I definitely would go back, the only reason why I give it 4 stars is because the seats are a bit tight if you are on the chubby side and there's always a long line on the weekends.

E

I knew the next time my ventures brought me back to Tahoe, I'd stop by here for some breakfast. Very welcoming staff, wait time wasn't too long (for a Saturday morning), and the cozy environment was enjoyable to dine in. Chicken fried steak is typically my breakfast go-to, but I was sure to grab their pancakes as well, absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, when I began fixing my second cup of coffee, one of my half-and-half's was expired (poured out like cheese). Not sure what the story is behind the staff rotating stock, if it weren't for that, I would've given this place a 5/5...still, an enjoyable breakfast.

J
Joshua

For years I was always told to go to Heidi's and have breakfast, I always passed it up because I had my normal spots to go to and each time I'd have time to go it'd be on the jam packed weekends and I just didn't feel like waiting. So when I took a midweek trip, I finally got to try it out. Walking inside was a blast from the past and I loved the nostalgia. I have to say that the staff was completely friendly and accommodating, even though it was a midweek visit, every booth was full. I was even more shocked at the speed in which we received our food (10 or so minutes after ordering). And one of the most important things happened to us, the drinks were always kept full! Our bill was a little on the pricey side for 3 people eating ($94 including tip), so if you're on a budget LOOK at the menu lol Although the food was good, there really wasn't a WOW factor about it. To me it tasted like any local specialty diner breakfast, but that always brings back memories so that's still a good thing. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs (my staple in trying ANY breakfast place) and this place passed the fork test. I was able to eat and cut everything with my fork, the flavor was good but again the gravy didn't have that wow factor of flavor, it was more of a sausage chowder than a traditional sausage gravy. Still flavorful, just not exciting as I needed to add a lot of pepper. One thing to note, the biscuit was fresh and the pancakes were some of the best I've had anywhere, and we really don't order pancakes often because only some places make them well, THIS is one of those places. If you want a family oriented place with great pancakes, service, and blast from the past nostalgia then this place is for you.

This place usually has a long wait, especially on the weekend. I wouldn’t wait more than 20 min. It was good but it is more for the nostalgia than the food. Think standard diner style food with a big menu so there is something for everyone. However, the portions were decent and the service was okay. 📸 click the photos to see what we ordered

We came here for breakfast on Friday (7/28). It was our last day in South Lake Tahoe. Read about all the great reviews and thought we would give it a try. We didn’t have to wait too long before being seated, maybe about 10 minutes or so. The atmosphere was lively (5/5). The place feels somewhat warm and cozy. The service was great. Our server was very much available to us and was able to answer our questions. After placing our order, it took about 10-15 minutes before our food arrived. The food was ok. Presentation is probably about a 3/5. I felt that it could be better. The omelette was not spectacular, came out quite oily. Have definitely had better. The pancakes were delicious however. Came out perfect. Nice and fully and very tasty too. Maybe that’s why it’s called Heidi’s Pancake House. Food wise, I would give it about a 3/5. Will definitely return but will stick with the pancakes. Overall experience is about a 4/5. If you’re in the area, do check it out but recommend ordering pancakes over other items on the menu.

ONLY reason it is not 5 stars is that it is pretty pricey for a breakfast spot, in compare to Red Hut Caseys Driftwood etc., but the food and service was impeccable! Every dish was tasty, all was impeccably made, and coffee refills were fast! The prices were a bit of pain.

If you on the lookout for breakfast spots, this is a must visit when in South Lake Tahoe. It's a fun throwback atmosphere and a good change from the modern or corporate nonsense you increasingly find in town. Wide breakfast selection so it should not be hard to find something you like here. If you are a basic person, the staples likes pancakes, eggs, etc are all good choices. The wait can be long (I mean it is a breakfast spot!) but usually they overshoot on the wait and you get a table sooner than you think (so don't leave and do listen for them to call your name).

A nice breakfast/brunch place with a lot of character! Good, big portion sizes. If you’re skeptical about finishing a big plate on your own, it might be good to order some things to split between people if you’re with friends. I really enjoyed the veggie omelette with baked potatoes! I was a bit disappointed in the stars & stripes waffle because we couldn’t get fresh berries on it- there was only berry compote/syrup that could be poured on top. I went with a big group of friends and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Heads up- there’ll likely be a wait time (especially if you go around brunch/lunch on a weekend) and you need everyone in your party present to get seated.

Their pancake is soft and taste delicious. They warm up the maple syrup as well so it goes well with the food. Portion is alittle smaller than ihop. Joey who served us is courteous and attentive to our needs.

Great diverse options with quality food! The funny thing was the potatoes didn’t have any salt and the bacon had too much salt. But besides that, great service, cute atmosphere!

Food: 3/5 Service: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Overall: Typical diner fare that is open fairly early. The extended review... Food: Swiss Crepes San - 3/5 - I like that you could get a little bit of everything in this dish. The only thing I have to say is that the crepes seemed to be a little bit thicker than typical. They tasted more like pancakes to me. Service: 3.5/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - It has that typical diner feel to it.

The wait is not long, the restaurant is warm and comfortable if you have a both (cushioned seat). The eggs are fresh to taste, the fruit spread taste more like jam instead of warm fruit filing. The french toast was void of flavor as the coffee lacked content of any strength. I went several times but it was no change in either of my visits. Try it for yourself, for the crepes or atmosphere.

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning, and it was very crowded but were able to be seated almost immediately. All of the employees were very polite but the service was not great. It could have been because they were so busy. We asked for a drink from one of the employees when we were first seated, but it never came. We asked for it again when our breakfast was brought to our table, and then it finally was brought out. The raspberry pancakes were very good and they would be ordered again. The biscuits and gravy were okay. If you like dry, dense, crumbly biscuits, you will like them. I prefer soft, buttery, light biscuits. The eggs that I ordered were super runny and not how they usually come out when ordered over medium. The only time our table was checked on was right after our food was delivered, so my drink was never refilled. Even though this wasn't a great breakfast on this occasion, there are plenty of other items on the menu that I would like to try. I will try to get to the restaurant a bit earlier than 9:30AM to see if the service is better when it is not so crowded. All in all, the pancakes and iced tea were good. The spiked coffee was a hit, but for me, the biscuits and gravy were a no-go.

J
Jennifer Hunziker

The pancakes were great! I enjoyed the raspberry topping better than the blueberry (which seemed to be more along the lines of pie filling). The banana muffin was delicious. Interesting that the ham and eggs had a slight flavor of pork fried rice (not sure how that happened but several members of my party agreed). We enjoyed the breakfast to where we went twice during our stay. During the weekend we did have a bit of a wait, but during the week we didn't have to wait at all. The waitress said that during the summer there is always a wait regardless of the day of the week.

Orange juice - just regular orange juice from store, not freshly squeezed Turkey sandwich - Thought it would come with bread toasted, but it didn’t. Other than that, it was good. Blueberry pancakes - Pancakes were so-so. I thought it would come with blueberries inside the pancakes but it was just blueberry syrup. Philly Cheesesteak - Meat was dry, didn’t have a lot of flavor. Peppers were nice. It tasted more like a roast beef sandwich not a Philly cheesesteak. Was still good. Joe’s Omelette - tasted good. Atmosphere was nice. Bathrooms were a little dirty and had no paper towels. Service was also very nice.

Way over priced mediocre food. Food: I know salad was $20 and the breakfasts I was looking at were around $16-17. Mainly Iceburg made it flavorless and nutotialoanlly empty (aside from the meat). The dressing was good but didn't make up for it. Though I have to say it was plated so nicely that I took a picture! My companions food he rated a 2 star for flavor. I didn't think to take a picture. It was a two ego sized waffles alone on a plate with sides on another. Atmosphere: cute swiss looking decor with lots to look at, very crowded. There are tables for everywhere so there is not much room if you need to use the restroom or just scoot your chair out to get in and out. Some of their larger tables are long fit in against the window and aisle with seating against the window but not aisle so be aware that your group might be in a straight row watching the staff and customers walk past and not able to engage with eachother or look out the window. Service: Very polite and kind though the server didn't know the menu well. There was a line out the door so we chose it based on that. It looks older than many of the other places further up the street. So I'm guessing people chose it thinking it would be cheaper, but it's the same price as other establishments where you get more, better tasting food in a less crowded environment.

Scrambled eggs and omletts were quite soggy and filled with way too many onions, peppers and spinach with very little egg. Potatoes were good. Average waffles and good potatoes. Service and atmosphere were good.

Stick with the pancakes/waffles/muffins. They were delicious! Great coffee and service. On the downside: The omelet was very oily and had a heavy oil flavor. (Note: For the ladies that suffer from travel constipation…this place is the cure.)

I got a skillet with bacon and my husband got a Denver omelette. I added a short stack of pancakes. The skillet was okay not bad but not great. We asked for a side of salsa and that helped the skillet give it a better taste. The omelet came with a basket of toast and the toast was yummy. The pancakes were small, flat, and thin but were good. Service was great. Waiter was nice. Overall good but not great.

I rarely do poor reviews, but I had to speak up about it because each friend was also quite disappointed by the food and some of the service. We came on a Wed around brunch time so it was pretty busy. The place is actually enormous and has plenty of booths and seatings and the interior decor is very nice and cozy! It did take a while for someone to tend to us, but it was busy which we completely understandable. The food arrived fairly quickly, and tasted decently in my opinion, but two of my friends took maybe 7 bites and couldnt finish because it wasn’t good in their opinion. The french dip tasted like reheated frozen produce, and the fries were extremely hard. We did like that there was a tangerine included with the meals, however it was probably the most delicious item we ate from our meal. I think for an American breakfast place, the food wasnt the worst, but we gave this rating because of the service. When the food came we had no utensils and had to ask for some, there was a wait, the ice in my water didn’t look clean, and our server wasnt too warm towards us. When the bill came it was already selected by our server for 20% gratuity and our server said “just sign here”. We were going to tip regardless especially because we know how busy it was, but that just didn’t feel right to us. Theres plenty of parking in the plaza and some seating area inside and out for people waiting. Didnt have the best experience but will come back again in the future to try again.

Quick service, but a crowded place and a the food is a major dissapointment. Ordered one of the omelettes that came out as a greasy tasteless mess and Mt.Tallac crepes, described as crapes in a blanket of hot blueberries, came with cold blueberries that had consistency like a cheap canned pie filling. Also they use margarine on toasts, and their hot chocolate tastes like water based instant hot chocolate.

We stopped here for breakfast thinking it would be a hit, only to be disappointed. It starts with the wait for seating. If the food and service was good, it would be worth it, but add to the fact that we didn't know you had to sign yourself in, and no one bothered to tell us, just makes it worse. Eventually, a host took us to a table, a waitress gave us menus and a waiter did the rest- although not very well and the 15% tip was generous for the service/attitude we received. One order was forgotten to be served, two orders of scrambled eggs were both not fully cooked and the pancakes were blah. The only interesting thing about the place is the architecture and what little decor they have. We had high hopes to become regulars, as this was close to the timeshare, but one visit was more than enough to encourage us to explore other options.

After coming here for years, today was not a great day. Why? Promptly seated, arrived around 8am. Order taken within a few minutes. The food came. Well, potatoes were burned and stale. Asked for a replacement and they were better, but not great. Coffee service was good keeping the cups full. My omelette eggs were greasy and dense, not fluffy. We were charged extra for cream cheese for the bagel. After years of excellent service and food the high prices and low quality food will keep us away. Sorry Heidi’s.

C
Christopher Yannuzzi

Food was underwhelming, with under cooked eggs, tasteless and hard biscuits. Interior looks dated and prices were crazy when you factor adding any side add odds. $7.50 for a side a bacon, $4.75 for a side of just the strawberry toppings for a pancake order 🤯🤯 Completely taken advantage of and just wanted to let everyone know you won’t be missing anything here from skipping this establishment 👎🏼👎🏼

Best thing about this place is the service was amazing! Our server and the manager totally amazing people, great experience. However, the food is less than average. It was lacking in taste, was not served hot 😕 We had a variet: omelette, pancakes, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy. There were two of us and we both agreed the service was amazing but the food was below average. We both only ate half of what was served to us.

Orange juice here is a scam, even the waiter said so many people complain. Ordered the “Large orange juice” and it was the size of the salt shaker. Asking about the size, the small was described as a shot glass amount. Ordered the country fried steak and it was good however the potatoes were overcooked and undercooked at the same time. The biscuit that came with was also pretty much inedible because it was a rock. Large OJ 5.49$ Small OJ 4.99

I last visited a few years ago and the bacon pancakes had always been my go-to. Maybe it was a bad day for the cooks, because the bacon pancakes were pretty disappointing. Instead of being mixed into the batter, the bacon was bits concentrated almost entirely in the center of one side of each pancake. The pancakes themselves tasted like water pancakes from a store. The butter was their saving grace. It kills me to say I've had better pancakes at Denny's. The table was also shakey. Heidi's needs a bit of TLC inside and out. Joey was really cool though. Thanks Joey!

Do not expect a good meal!!! I am currently sitting in the restraunt, so bad I had to put down the fork.. Eggs are cold, biscuits dry as drywall, French toast was mediocre, cold and dry.. The potatoes were undercooked and cold.. the toast had a gross spread that didn't melt.. all in all..we should have just gone to Dennies..

I had high hopes for this long standing business. We were seated promptly then inundated with service. My husband's omelet was way overcooked. My eggs benedict came with barely any sauce,. I asked for more and they provided broken and cool Hollandaise on the side. The potatoes that came with the breakfast were dried out as if they were sitting in a warmer all morning. Our server brought the bill, then solicited feedback. We provided the info on the food and his response was he would tell the manager. I was not looking for a handout and based on what was served, complaining I dont feel would have improved the quality, so we paid and moved on.

We were really disappointed with our experience at Heidi’s Pies in South Lake Tahoe. My friend found multiple hairs in her food. We sent the dish back the first time, and although the staff was mostly friendly and apologetic, the replacement dish came out with another hair in it, which was extremely gross and unhygienic. On top of that, our service was lacking. We rarely saw our server, and most of the time she only came to the table after we specifically requested her. When she did stop by, she always seemed rushed and eager to leave, which made it difficult to address concerns or even ask basic questions. While she was polite, the lack of attentiveness added to an already uncomfortable experience. Cleanliness in food preparation is non-negotiable, and when combined with inattentive service, it really ruined the meal. We won’t be returning and hope the restaurant takes both food safety and customer service more seriously going forward.

AJ Ball

What an all around disappointment. I can't express how excited we were to eat here . We were beyond let down by the food and service. First off I asked for orange juice and ice. Orange juice came out filled to the rim with no ice. I figured there was a misunderstanding so asked for a side cup of ice. Wife ordered the egg Benedicts. And for myself I ordered a Denver omelet. My sour dough toast came out prior to my meal in a basket and sat there waiting for both orders to come out. Needless to say it was cold by the time the meals came out. Denver omelet was way over cooked and the potatoes they serve were inedible. Both items were not edible. My wife's egg Benedict had a small amount of sauce. She had to ask for a side of sauce. Which was also not edible due to it being cold. By this time we had enough with the food and service. We were asked about our experience and express all the concerns above. We were just told sorry and handed a bill. We obviously paid the bill and won't be returning. Do not eat here. Please think about all the reviews and this one and really look at the patttern.

F

Flor our waitress had the worst attitude and got my order wrong… She was very dismissive and her vibe was not there at all… I came here because the reviews were so good. But her attitude ruined my mood. The food was ok. They put a ton of onions in the potatoes so if you don’t like them don’t order them. I told her I wanted no onions on anything and she did not tell me the potatoes came that way. My omelette was wrong and she hardly checked on us. My husband is very easy going and even he agreed with me which is rare.. All in all if you’re having a bad day I get it but leave it at the door and do your job in CUSTOMER SERVICE. Atmosphere was good. But again the waitress ruined the whole mood. I hope someone has a talk with her and she can do better.

M
Monika Gudauskas

This restaurant is definitely not for anyone who cares about good customer service. The overall feeling was very much come, eat, pay, and leave. There was no warmth or attentiveness at all. It was just me and my five-year-old daughter. They immediately handed her a coloring sheet, and because she was busy coloring, I didn’t notice there was a kids’ menu underneath it. Because of that, I ended up having to order a short stack of pancakes for her and a waffle for myself. The pancakes were completely flavorless and topped with an overwhelming amount of greasy, butter-like goo. Waffles soggy… It was not appetizing at all. For that price, I expected much better quality. Overall, I was very disappointed. I would not go back and would not recommend this place to anyone. Honestly, you’re better off getting breakfast at McDonald’s—five times cheaper and far more satisfying

Really disappointed. I was really looking forward to eating here. This place looks like it would be epic from the street the decoration and decor inside and the old charm makes it very desirable. Unfortunately, like men have written here. The food is really not good at all. The service was very subpar. I had eggs Benedict and ordered the side pancake, which you think would be bigger than 4“ round. I asked the server because I was looking over at the table next to me that had pancakes that were much bigger. The server took the plate with the small pancake off the table and I thought he would just bring a normal size pancake keep in mind four dollars for one pancake the manager comes back over with the pancake and instead of just saying no problem let me get you a bigger pancake. He asked if I wanted to keep it or take it off the bill. Defending the pancake that it’s supposed to be small. Very odd so either way I took it off the bill sure it cost less than $.30 to make a bigger pancake. Either way the eggs Benedict was subpar. The hashbrowns were full of oil and I didn’t even eat them. They did not taste good. My wife got the breakfast combo that came with biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy was OK at best a slice of ham and some scrambled eggs. And that was $21. The food here is definitely not worth it or the price that it cost. The quality is very low and the prices are very high. They really need to rethink how they serve people and treat people.
