If you like a good ol fashion country breakfast, you’ll truly LOVE the Country Kitchen in Lampasas, TX. I’m a bit boring and get the same each time driving up to my ranch property; The Ranch Hand. Try it if your in the area!

Ate lunch, very good. No room to eat it all so took it home. Couldn't pass up the bakery items so took some pie and turnovers home too.

This used to be a pretty regular stop when we traveled and was always a favorite. We weren't able to travel for several years, so, we haven't been in awhile. We got to Lampassas right around 7, just as they were opening. The place did not look the same but the food was just as good as we remembered. On our way back we stopped back in for a late lunch. Everything was fresh, homemade and couldn't have been better. Well, we thought. The pies and peach cobbler were more delicious than we remembered. The fresh look of the remodel didn't change the food. Don't drive by without stopping in. If your in a hurry stop and grab some of the muffins, fritters or other items ready to go. Your taste buds will thank you! They have the world's best waitress too! Go figure out which one it is.

Have driven by here many times, first time stopping. Recently remodeled, it is so clean and nice inside. Large, spacious dining room, quick service. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious, egg was cooked just the way I like it. We’ll be back!

We go often. The CFS is actually steak, not cube steak. It is pan-fried, not deep fried. Therefore, it's not greasy. The potatoes are real, not instant. The green beans are seasoned with bacon. They have a bakery as well, and the prices are crazy good for bakery items. We have not had anything we haven't liked so far, and the portions are definitely large.

We stopped here on a whim after seeing a full parking lot. We figured it would be a good choice. The food was okay, just lacks alot of seasonings that we are accustomed too. They give good sized portions, and our picky eater kid was super happy.

Ate at Country Kitchen today and went with the cafeteria service. We tried the half plate option—which still felt pretty generous! It came with a salad (or dessert if you prefer), a half portion of meat, two sides, and a bread choice. Oh, and did I mention the sweet tea? 🍽️✨ Comfort food done right!

Stopped in for breakfast this week as I was passing through town. I was seated quickly, and had a great waitress. Business was bustling, and you can tell that a lot of customers come here often based on the interaction with staff. I love to see this because it usually means that this is a local favorite place to eat. The French toast was perfect. Food was cooked to order and reasonably priced. I sat next to a couple of old cowhands that didn't have much to say because they were busy playing cards and spilling coffee- see pic. Can't believe I've passed by this place so many times and missed so many good meals. Not any more. This will be my regular stop when going through Lampasas.

He said no problem, and will reserve the back room for us We had the most amazing young waitress ( Fynness) Angelica, who provided a smile on her face the entire time, with exc customer service. Service was quick, allowing us to get back on the road and stay on schedule. (The Mgr even contacted me through fb and thanked us! Now that’s a rarity!) Kudos to Country Kitchen!

Favorite breakfast place...love the Spanish omelette. Enjoy looking at the memorabilia decorating the cafe. The service is always excellent and we often leave with items from the bakery counter. This place reminds me of cafes my family dined in when I was a child (60+ years ago). The ownership changed a couple if years ago and everything has only improved...drop in, you'll see.

Great burger place. Feels like a mom and pop grille when inside. Have traditional sit down tables with waitress or a cafeteria line style serving.

Where to start, great overall experience. The girls are great at serving and they take care of their customers. It can get busy but affordable and good food.

My only complaint is; if you're going to post your hours of operation on the Internet then abide by them yourself or amend them to more accurately reflect when your open and closed. Web says you're open till 3:00PM. We got there at 1:15 to find doors locked and an empty parking lot. Long way for us to drive to find nobody home!!!

I have been eating here for well over 15 years and I love the food the waitstaff and the atmosphere of the place...I won't say it's gone downhill I will say it's changed much like our taste buds do over time. The menu has become smaller and the hours have changed slightly but the general message stays the same "come on down have some decent food at a fair price" no one expects gourmet Michelin level food from here just a good homestyle plate and portion and the place delivers

Great deal for a large meal! You can order off menu or get a large plate cafeteria style with many options. Plus, they have breakfast all day! Waitstaff was very helpful and kind.

The wife and I stopped on our way to San Antonio. The place was great. The food tasted pretty good. They gave you more then I could eat. The place was clean and had nice things to look at on the walls. Looked like there was some locals eating there which I think is a good sign. Worth the stop if you’re driving by and ready to eat!

It would have been 45-50 minutes before the food would be delivered after ordered so hot breakfast rolls and coffee worked as just great for a 3-hour drive. People extremely friendly service was really well done for the short time we were there. Couldn't tell you the quality of food but their pastries are really good.

A mixed bag. I wanted to go 5 ⭐️but couldn’t. Let’s be clear the restaurant offers cafeteria style service and menu service. We arrived on a Monday about 20 minutes before they closed and did not get a lot of service. We had to ask about “seating” then waited for someone to come by, then we got beverages and menus and were told the server would be with us. Several more minutes without anyone coming by, and several staff were chatting and starting closing breakdown and clean up rather than take care of customers. The young lady finally arrived and apologized for the delay as she was taking care of a large table in another dining area. Still, staff was available to help get things started. I even got up and walked over to ask, if we needed to order up front. So service was an issue. Food was great. My salad, along with massive CFS, and potatoes gravy and texas toast was great. All I expected. Chicken strips were good too along with the BBQ plate. Cleanliness was an issue too and floors, and bathrooms need attention. There was a sign on the door indicating that reatauant would be closing on 7/15/24 for cleaning upgrades and improvement to diners experience. That will be needed. So there you have it. Look at captions on my CFS pics for verification of size, and quality.

It’s mediocre. I ordered the chicken breast with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a salad. The chicken was hot and flavored well. The mashed potatoes and green beans were both cold and bland. Never did receive the salad. In addition, I ordered the cherry turnover, which was very good.

The kitchen is extremely slow, today it took an hour for breakfast to be served. The waitress did a great job, but the delay from the kitchen was frustrating. If food cannot be prepared more quickly, it might help to limit the number of tables being seated so service can keep up. This is the second time I’ve experienced the same issue, so it seems to be an ongoing problem.

A quick bite by pulling into Country Kitchen at the start of a road trip. The place looked quaint and seemed as though they would have some comfort food to feast on. The staff were incredibly friendly and the menu was endless, from your choice of a buffet to made-to-order food. The taste of the food was average, nothing extraordinary and lacked a little freshness. I also had to mention the dinning area was clean but also very fidget. (Because it was so cold, my food got cold) The price point is super and not overly pricey, which I liked. I say try it and see what you think- let us know! ⭐️

Grabbed two small plates, ate with my father. My father ate the brisket and smoked sausage, which he said was tender and juicy. He also enjoyed the sweet tea and cornbread, although he felt the collard greens were a bit bland. The food was like warm at best our server was overwhelmed so she was short with us and only became nice once she slowed down, I get it however it was not our fault! She was amazing once slowed down but didn't ask how our food was or checked on us after our food was dropped off. It was okay but we probably will not stop by again if in this town.

I use love this place. Where I’d come in town, I’d got eat there. Well Friday got the catfish platter to go. Well the catfish was like catfish jerky because it was so dried and the hush puppies were hard. My dogs like them. Then today, dropped my foster at Isom so id decide to go in and eat breakfast. Big mistake. Bacon tasted old and biscuit was hard and not fresh. Hash browns blah. This place used to be sooo good

4.20.25 Ordered a meat plate. Roast ? Ham sausage and brisket I think it's roast, but it's so dry that it's hard to tell.And the brisket had no flavor and a lot of fat and only took a little bite of the ham but it did not taste good. I'm not sure I wanna try the sausage after this $24 plate.

Waited 45 min and food was still not there. Told by " manager" there were largee orders ahead of me. I asked server why 2 other tables were seated after us and served and left before fod came out and she said they had easy orders. Is it by place in line or ease of order. Was not given any cosideration for disount on this or future dining. I know its busy but don't jerk me around in line or ease of order make up your mind.

I dont know how this place has over 4 stars. The food is disgusting. I've been here for breakfast and lunch, never again. For breakfast there was more grease on my plate than food. For lunch I ordered the house salad and added grilled chicken. I canceled the order when the waitress informed me they wanted 9 dollars just to add a piece of chicken. My wife tried the catfish, they dont remove the fat before frying it, which makes it taste like dirt. You can clearly tell they buy the cheapest ingredients and sell it for premium prices. Don't waste your money or time, whataburger is better.

I placed an order over the phone at 9:45 am on May 28, 2023 and was told that my order of one cup of soup would be ready in 5 to 10 minutes. After over 30 minutes of waiting inside the restaurant after driving there my soup was finally ready. If you love extra salty soup try here, because I definitely like to enjoy the flavor of my food and not only taste salt. Never eating here again. Just be honest about waiting times and people would understand. You're just wasting everyone's time. The picture is attached, I couldn't even finish the rest. Horrible food and service. Response from owner: Sorry to hear about your salty soup and bad service Reply: It wasn't only my soup but soup for my entire family. Luckily we found a new establishment to give our money to for our breakfast!! And it was an amazing breakfast at that. The rest of your soup ended up in the trash.
