Cantarito Restaurant

Came here with the family and had a lovely time. They even brought out some music while we ate. Some people may say the time to wait is a little long but, everything is basically made fresh and you can taste it in the food. Definitely will be coming here again soon.

Update. So I’ve now eaten here several times and tried many different items and can only say good things . This place will earn and deserves your business. And Clementina, one of the servers is magnificent.So far I've only eaten here once but I will definitely be back . I had a variety of different pupusas , fried chicharron and yucca frita and everything was very very good. The cortido was great and so was the sauce served with it. Service was excellent. Can't wait to come back and try the sopa De gallina India.

Worth the wait! My go to place for pupusas, the workers are always so nice and the food is beyond amazing.

GREAT FOOD! The chicharrón with yuca was delicious! The pupusas was very flavorful! The carne asada with the tortilla was perfect! The plátanos cooked perfectly! And the pork tamale was perfect! My first time coming here and it won't be my last I am definetly coming back!

Amazing pupusas.The revuelta pupusas are my favorite! They are pretty big and filling. I always order 3. I eat two there which I can barely finish and take one to go.

By far the best Salvadorean restaurant in the AV. The food is authentic and the Pupusas are a reasonable size. Prices are great and the restaurant is super clean and the staff are friendly. I'll be going there more often

I ask for a soup it was so big i could not finish it, but it was delicious. I thought the food and service was excellent. Only advise i would give, if u are in a hurry, order ahead because food is made fresh.

Their papusas are so fresh and yummy. I got a combo of bean & cheese and spinach and cheese. Pair it up with the sauce and cabbage for the win. I lived in Portland, OR for 20 years and also living in San Diego. Their food is that higher level and quality you expect with large cities. The chef clearly puts love into the process. Customer service is excellent too so I'll be back for sure 💯

I truly like this place for Salvadorian breakfast. Food has never disappointed me. Service has alway been good. I can’t really complain about this place. The owner is very friendly and attentive, communicates well and food what can I say but delicious to look at and taste. My hubby loves this place and I too. I highly recommend it. Maybe just one minor thing sometimes the music is a bit loud.

The pupusas were so incredibly delicious! Tried 4 different kinds. And the drinks - we got jamaica and maracuya - were so delicious! Also tried a sausage taco (ground chorizo, yum!) and a sweet bread. The service was top notch. And the place was pretty for Christmas. And fun music playing. I could go on and on!

Food is usually on point here but haven't been there in a while. Esthetic improvements to atmosphere and dinning experience include changing the smelly carpet to floor and putting a L shaped wall around the restroom entrance. In this way customers don't have to see an open restroom door....think Denny's. Small details like this would help perceived cleanliness and improve business for the restaurant.

Food was delicious. It is of a decent size and the pupusas have a good amount of filling. The sauce and curtido were just right. They messed up 3 out of our 4 orders which we didn't mind so much since it was close enough to what we ordered but definitely indicates a need for more attention to detail.

Staff was very welcomed and nice. Food was okay, took a long time to come out too. I saw they get a lot of Uber eats and phone call orders. So maybe that's why.

They have really good yuca and pupusas but their service sucks. First time I went they were polite. But the second time I just got attitude by a skinny lady with black hair. My parents experienced the same attitude as well. Your food may be good but ultimately speaking a bad attitude will drive away your customers and I’m one of them. It’s a shame

Food is good, however the staff is not clear on their prices which obviously it means customers are not all charged the same. I was given 3 different prices on my order with in the 5 minuets I was there and then the 3 women are going back and forth on what needs to be charged. As a customer we don't want to see that happen in any establishment, that is poor customer service. Looks like someone was trying to pull a fast one and pocket some money. Check your receipt before leaving to assure you are being charged correctly. I personally will not be returning to this restaurant and I will not recommend it to any friends or family. I will try the one down the street and hope their food and service is good.

The carrots and potatoes held there form and absorbed the flavor of the stew while the chicken remained the star. I would eat this once a week if I could. The dish is served with pupusa textured corn tortillas. I just wished there was more chicken for the dish price of $15.99. The iced tea was charged at $3.99 which is a bit much; the music was really loud and the server walked away in the middle of conversing with only one other table to tend to so not the most friendly joint. But, if you are looking for really delicious food, I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was fine. Not great and not bad, the service was bad. It’s considered a restaurant, so you’d think they seat you, but it seems they did not want to go outside. They told us to seat ourselves and told us to move. We had been there before, but decided not to go back.

Talk about a Subpar pan con pollo The chicken was dry not even the sauce could save it. it was drier than me after a night with my boyfriend. The bread was hard it wasn’t fresh that’s for sure. Do they not put seasoning on this chicken? The only saving grace was the staff they were fine but the food was not worth the price.

I always get their breakfast and everything always tastes fresh and tasty. Their pupusas are good too. Update - came back after name change, assuming they changed ownership. Service wasn't the same sadly.

Ridiculous wait time! Literally only people here and they are taking over 35 minutes!!!! And yet I had to ask at what time and they keep saying soon… so close to canceling my order … I’ve tried to give this place a second third chance but it seems like they really don’t care about customers anymore as when they first open doors… I still remember the owner actually walking around making sure customers were ok and doing small talks… now it’s like she doesn’t even know anyone. Like I say always remember when you first started and how far you’ve come and know that if it wasn’t for loyal customers you wouldn’t have a business. I’m done with this I really wish they consider reviews of real people and real experiences. Also don’t post dining times if you take over 40 minutes just to make pupusas and want a customer to dine in less than 2 hours?

Ordered online for delivery ended up driving to the restaurant to pick up orders that was not handed to the driver. False advertisement of having 3 pieces of pupusas in the photo but is actually just one. I won’t mind paying it for the price, but it was really dry. Very disappointed with the quality of food. Too expensive for the poor quality

I’m a regular been coming here for 3 years but recently the pupusas don’t taste the same, the beans taste different they don’t look like black beans anymore. They’re unsalted and lack flavor.

Worst customer service. Horrible food. Everything was dry. They took an hour to make my food which wasn’t even done when I got up to ask them. I had to get it to go cause they took so long. They didn’t offer a discount or even apologize. Overly priced and not worth your hard earned money. Definitely would not recommend.

worst food my daughter and ever ate cuz it was raw pupusas and it gave me a stomach ache and couldn't poop until the next day and couldn't eat dinner yesterday not even horchata was yummy plus too pricey for such nasty food. My daughter didn't even finish her food cuz it was raw. Never come here cuz they gave u a bad stomachache plus chips r not free u need to buy a big plate if food to get chips for free. Great service but disgusting food never coming back. Made me wanna throw up tasted like masa. I'm not making this up. I'm saying the truth. Go to el buen gusto in Burbank if u want the best Salvador food and horchata.
