Great customer service Delicious food
The St. Louis tavern style pizza I ordered was delicious and the crust was very crispy. They also have Poppi soda for sale! I would definitely return again. On another positive note, my wife is a local teacher and required pizza boxes for a class project she was doing with her students. Without any hesitation, Abe’s Place was able to help out and donate. We are truly appreciative for Abe’s excellent customer service and accommodations.
Goof food, good service, and friendly owner. I tried the Reuben Calzone, on the online menu, because it sounded interesting and was not disappointed. I travel to Leavenworth four times a year for 2-3 weeks at a time and I will frequent Abe's Place. I need to try the meatball sub and some pizzas. They also have fun shirts that say "Legalize Marinara", poking fun at KS refusal to legalize marijuana and just a fun slogan for a pizza joint.
Local. Fits perfectly into the fabric of the Leavenworth community. Great options for lunch. The pizza is excellent. One of the few local pizza options in Leavenworth, and this one doesn't miss.
My parents are regulars at Abe's. Matthew and the other employees know them by name and are wonderful to them. The food is consistently delicious... we've never had anything bad there. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat!
We have been craving pizza for a little while so stumbled upon this from google. We are not from this area, but happened to be passing through today. Very thankful we stopped by. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful. His staff were also very kind and hardworking. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. Really liked the crust dipped in honey. The brisket mac and cheese pizza was phenomenal!! Will definitely stop back by when in town. All of the kiddos enjoyed this place. Thank you so much!
This place is one of the best pizza places in KC and lucky to have it here in Leavenworth. My American legion team had an outing there and it was last minute and they accommodated great being last minute. Pizza is always great and great service.
You will absolutely will get value for the money you spend to get the Pesto sauce. I think it was like a $4 upcharge but SOOOO WORTH IT🤤 The Reuben was also a hearty sandwich, couldn't even finish it 🤭 Good local spot🤙
I highly recommend this place. The customer was top tier!! The owner and the young lady behind the counter was super sweet and helpful. The place is really clean and so are the employees. They have a HUGE selection and it was hard to decide. I got the pizza, gyro and crab lagoon dip and EVERYTHING was really good. I live 1hr away but I'll will be back. It's hard to find places that have such wonderful customer service and food.
We drove from Michigan and were staying at the Hampton Inn. We were starving and asked the receptionist if she could recommend a place to eat. Abe's came highly recommended so we ordered online for delivery. While waiting on Doordash, the owner of Abe's rang me to let me know, in the kindest way, that they were closing and that the food was never picked up. He said he'd be upset if he paid for food to be delivered and nothing showed. This man hand delivered our food to the hotel, out of the kindness of his heart, and included everything we needed to eat like plastic wear. On top of it all, the food was absolutely amazing. If you get a chance to support this locally owned business with amazing food and the BEST people running it, DO IT. Love good people and great food! We ordered a pizza, lobster roll and a gyro and it was top notch, you won't be disappointed.
Looking for a restaurant on Google Maps while I was in town & ABE'S came up on the list and I was so smitten by the pizza in the picture that I had to come here and order it. The hamburger pizza and the barbecue brisket calzone are the best I've ever had in my life! Friendly people behind the counter and great music. This place is what a pizza parlor should look like too! I'll be back with my family
I ordered from Abe’s Pizza in Lansing for a company event and everything was great — except I realized one pizza was missing after I had already left. I called them up, and they didn’t hesitate to make it right. They had the pizza ready super quickly, were incredibly kind about the whole thing, and even gave me a credit for a free large pizza on my next visit. When I went back to cash in that free pizza, I ordered a side salad too because I felt bad not paying for anything — and they gave me that for free as well. I was blown away. These folks are truly in the business of making customers happy. The staff is down-to-earth, personable, and just genuinely kind people. I absolutely support this business — they go above and beyond every time. Highly recommend Abe’s!
Great pizza! Prices are higher than a chain place, but you get higher quality pizza! We tried the crab ragoon pizza, it was very good! Combo pizza was yummy as well! Will return!
Awesome pizza! Got a large Hawaiian with tomato sauce on traditional crust and it was delicious. The large was enough to feed three people with leftovers. The staff was polite and friendly and the menu is extensive. It was great to support a solid local business. They also offer a gluten free crust made with almond flour and they have a process for making it gluten free. Caveat is there is flour in the air so there is a risk of some of it being on the pizza.
I recently ordered takeout from Abe's Place, and I have to say, it was a hit! The food was just as delicious as dining in, and the flavors were spot on. The Chicago-style pizza was a true standout – the layers of toppings and that signature deep-dish crust were absolutely delightful. And let's talk about the wings – they were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a mouthwatering sauce that had the right balance of flavors. The entire experience, from placing the order to savoring every bite, was a five-star delight. Abe's Place knows how to impress with their takeout offerings!

We were first time visitors at Abe’s and we enjoyed it! The service was great and our sandwiches were pretty good too! We got our food hit and fresh and the place was clean and in great shape!
See updated visit below Pizza has a really good flavor but....we asked for extra sauce and we were very surprised when we go home and it was one of the driest pizzas we'd ever have update: abes invited us back to give them another try. I must say...it was awesome! Really was perfection. Great job!!
Good local pizza place. Allows a half and half pizza which worked great for my wife and I as we travelled. Traditional crust was good, but nothing special. Buffalo chicken pizza could use some more toppings (light on coven and cheese). Meatzza was great!
I'm pretty sure they gave us thin crust when we asked for traditional but we weren't going to wait another 30 minutes to have it fixed so let it be. The staff were all nice and the pizza was great, despite the mishap. The flavors are unique and there's lots to choose from.
On a golf trip and looked up pizza in the area, looked like it was rated best pizza for multiple years. Southwest eggs rolls were absolutely delicious on a positive note! Unfortunately the pizza is mediocre and the cheese is flavorless. For the love of God please take those ravioli off the menu, that was the worst thing I’ve ever been served in a restaurant…
Just ordered a simple sandwich..waited about 20 minutes while the manager made his own food and saw down right in front if me…got my sandwich, tasted fine and was prepared according to instructions so no problem there…but it had very little meat on it. Ate in 4-5 bites and Im still hungry. Also; super salty, like really salty..prob the bacon on the sandwich but still really salty. 20 minutes wait for a sandwich that wasn’t really substantial at all..you get 2 stars for wasting my time. Also, when you pay with card in store for takeout they still flip the screen on you and still make you tip or not tip which I find super awkward before you order a takeout order. Maybe thats why made me a small sandwich that i had to wait 20 minutes in an empty store….because I didn't tip.
Walked in to pick up my online order and watched the owner get agitated with another patron waiting for his order. The patron was sitting waiting for his order when I walked in and the owner started to present as frustrated asking if the guy wanted a refund. initially the guy responded calming no he was just waiting for his order and the owner started to accuse him of being agitated about the wait due to an oven being down (again the other patron seemed calm throughout the exchange) as the owner continued to accuse the patron of being agitated the patron decided to take him up on his offer of a refund, not because of the wait but because of the owners behavior. After the other patron left the owner began to complain so I spoke up that the guy didn't do anything inappropriate. The owner first tried justify his behavior, started to become agitated with me and then get agitated with me. Eventually I lost my temper and told him to keep the money and pizza and I wouldn't be ordering from them again (my wife had me turn the car around after explain cause she don't play like that and wanted our money back). Overall the food here is decent and a step above the chain pizza places but it's nothing amazing either. If the owner can't handle the heat of his kitchen without losing his cool then he should stay back in the offices. I won't be buying from them again.
Watched the owner berate people that asked for a refund because they didn't want to wait, and then he proceeds to yell when he's caught lying about one of them. Tried to explain to the rest of us that the customers were the problem, not himself and how he was acting up for no reason. I was shocked that to find out that was the owner. I thought it was just an employee that hated where he worked. Got my money back that night. I will not be spending my money where the owner acts like a toddler and has a melt down when it doesn't go his way. Unprofessional, he's too old to be like that.
After an escalated exchange by an older gentleman in the establishment, my husband left without our food or a refund because of, as he shared with me, how disrespectful the exchange became today. Not knowing the entirety of what happened, I did return to the establishment for a refund because no service was provided. When I walked in, the owner was behind the counter complaining loudly enough for me — and presumably the three other men in the store — to hear. He then greeted me with “How are you?” I told him that I wanted a refund since we did not receive our order. He began to argue that my partner had said to keep the money. I did insist on a refund as I don't think it's appropriate for an establishment to keep money for a service not rendered. Instead of resolving it professionally, he continued complaining about my husband’s behavior in front of three other customers. He referred to me as “something else” and “loud,” blamed the oven breaking for why he was behaving the way he was and I told him he should take a break then, though he explained he couldn’t take a break because “shit went crazy,” and somehow suggested my husband prevented him from stepping away. Running a business means handling stress without projecting it onto customers. The owner's response to previous low reviews confirms the level of professionalism I experienced in person. Instead of taking accountability or attempting to resolve the situation, he chose to double down publicly. That speaks for itself. Have the day you deserve.
