My wife and I were pleasantly surprised at how much the owners have done with this restaurant. If you're looking for a true locally owned & operated business that serves excellent food in a great atmosphere, this is the place.
First time trying it! I have been craving country fried steak for awhile and was told they had it here! I have to say it’s huge but was some of the best! Service and atmosphere was wonderful too! We will be back!
First time stop in between day trips .. (headed back towards Ft Walton area) and decided to stop for a late lunch. Had the popcorn shrimp with curly fries along with hot tea. Curly fries were Crisp like one would expect, good portion of popcorn shrimp served with both cocktail and tartar sauce. Appreciated the refill of my hot tea during the meal (Service was fast getting meal to me). Also stopped for Saturday Dinner Special (early dinner) and had the two meat special. Have to admit the pork chop was the highlight here .. smoky, moist, and prepared just perfect. A touch of the sweet sauce was added
First visit. We came with our motorcycle group and didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at the comfortable atmosphere and the friendly service. The food was better than we expected at a great price. Will definitely return.

Everyone is friendly. Food is excellent. The portions are good size. I have had leftovers for the lunch the next day many times. It's about 25 miles from where I live and I go at least twice a month. As for the price? It's no higher than any other comparable restaurant. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful local stop and a wonderful place for the people of Laurel Hill. When we cam I had the steak and it was by far one of the best steaks I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly and this is a wonderful family home town feel of a restaurant. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend stopping by. If I didn't live 7 hours away I would visit more often.

Server was nice. Food was just ok. Prices are too high and 6% added for debit card use is just plain wrong.

The Grill has great food and atmosphere. I do agree with a few others that have reviewed this place. My kid only got 1 chicken strip, fries, and a tiny (organic) juice box with his kids meal!!! The juice box was awful!! I believe the kids meals are around $7 each! Kids don't get a choice of drink either. You only get the juice box. This is not right. The owner is not at all personable and the prices are extremely high for a small town cafe. It is unfortunate as this is a great place to eat and I love that Laurel Hill has a good place to eat. Small towns need restaurants. I think they would be much busier if they lowered their prices and treated people better. They have the potential business of the employees of the school and all other employers right there in Laurel Hill. It seems like the mind set is to overcharge "because they can" due to being the only sit down place to eat in Laurel Hill. The owner is definitely taking advantage of people with the high prices. I also agree that it seems that they add $$ when you pay as you do not get an itemized receipt. Why don't you get an itemized receipt? Seems odd. I have been there only 2 times and the price I paid did not seem to add up to what the menu said. I hope some changes are made. This place could be so much better.
Wasn't impressed with the hour wait on a grilled cheese sandwich, which tasted very plain. For being the only place to eat in the town a person would think the food would be better. It's a shame food quality was so poor.

My husband was working from home and I was off, so we decided to get lunch to go. We’ve been to this place many times over the years, as we are local. Well, I picked up the food and left a 10.00 tip. Didn’t look at the receipt. My husband got a fried chicken sandwich for 9.99 and I got Sweet Buffalo Bites for 8.99 with an appetizer of cheese curds 6.99. Got home and my husband was confused as to why it cost 40.20 before tip. No itemized receipt. We were still going to eat it…but then….My husband’s fried chicken sandwich turned out to be 2 chicken tenders on a bun. When I opened my container, it was literally a pile of fried batter and just the little pieces of ends of chicken tenders. No chicken. It was as if they fried the pieces that were left in the flour. I took the the food back and my husband sent them a message on FB saying that it was ridiculous that they would charge that much for what they gave us and inquired why the price didn’t match the prices on the menu. Well, the owner responded, very aggressively and told my husband he was sad for sending his wife to return the food. She refunded me 40.20 in cash but not the tip. She told my husband that we weren’t getting the tip back because they had to deal with us and said I was rude to the girl handling payments. I was never rude. My husband works in quality assurance with a bank. Primarily how to provide customer service. I’ve worked in hospitality my whole life. After reading many reviews, I learned that this behavior is common from the owner. We posted the conversation on FB. Tried to tag the restaurant, but they blocked us. I assume they aren’t relying on this business to pay their bills because why would you not simply apologize and try to keep the business. I also assume they have money, but no restaurant experience. If this restaurant was somewhere that had more places to eat, they would not last. There’s no way you can serve this quality of food, charge this much, and treat your customers with such disrespect, and expect to be successful. I’m sure the owner will respond disrespectfully and justify. See below for an example of terrible customer service.

This location up charges at their gift shop. Also if ordering from the menu BE VERY CAREFUL. You will be up charged. This restaurant shows no mercy if questioned about prices. A number of gifts were purchased at the gift shop and even these items were marked up at the register. The owner shows no mercy and was very condescending for even being questioned. Left such a bad taste in my mouth I returned to the location to refund the upcharged gifts. The owner said. “No refund.” I left the items, in the bag, on their counter. Nice smiles when you arrive here but if you have legitimate questions you get kicked out with a sassy, “Have a nice day!” They should of added, “Bless your heart!” Will not be going back to this location.
