I went here for my Birthday dinner and had an amazing experience. The waiter was fabulous, the music was great, the food was delicious (I ordered the Maui Fish Tacos), and the chocolate was WOW!!!
Great food, incredible rooftop, sexy music and delicious drinks.
Great food, superb service and really comfortable atmosphere.
Beautiful restaurant and amazing food! Will definitely be back!
Food Is always excellent. Great selection of beer, cocktail list, and happy hour
Great food and amazing service. Rooftop bar and patio seating won't disappoint!
Great Service and Better Drinks, nice spot to have dinner. Steak and apps were great.
The Best Happy Hour Specials!! Great Food and Great Atmosphere ! Rooftop Bar is awesome !
Very nice place with a good good level. Quite expensive as we should expect. Every Friday there is a DJ and every Sat there is some band singing/playing in live. I also like the fireplace on the main level.
Love this place. I am a huge fan of the atmosphere along with the classic American cuisine. All is great, key lime pie is a MUST!
I had the crab cakes and deviled eggs and loved them! They have a fabulous happy hour and Wednesday nights is Ladies night!
Great menu and and very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Healthy and gluten free options and the best prime rib I've ever had!
Waiter was badass. Prime rib was cooked perfectly with a salty crisp edge. Fantastic horseradish. I tried my girlies crab cakes they are phenomenal. Too full to try the key lime right now...so it is going home with me for later. Try the deviled eggs. Really good lemon drop martini. It is more on the sour side. Delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try the salmon and chocolate wow.
We visited this restaurant last night, this was our third time there and our friends first. We decided to sit on the rooftop deck since the weather was gorgeous. Dillon the bartender was very attentive and friendly, he has served us before in the restaurant below. We were ready to order dinner and Dillon told us that dinner was not served on the rooftop. We did not understand this concept because for us it would have created a disjointed experience, why should we have to leave the rooftop to eat dinner? I asked to speak with a manager, Dillon contacted the manager and she came up to chat with us. Her name was Megan. She explained that the idea was the restaurant and rooftop were two different concepts. When I explained to her that by having to leave the rooftop for dinner it was taking away from the overall experience. I honestly how many times when people have been told they don't serve dinner on the rooftop that either that parties just order appetizers vs. a meal. She said that this has been a part of their discussions in meetings and said that she would speak with the owner who was at the restaurant to see if we could be accommodated, shortly thereafter Dillon advised that we could order dinner on the rooftop. We ordered dinner and enjoyed it, the food is fantastic. We will go back, my only hope is that they will reconsider making dinner on the rooftop available and that we won't have to ask for the exception again. As a marketing professional and consumer behavior expert I think that by doing so they will see the revenue brought in from the rooftop increase, after all why get the hummus when you can order the delicious prime rib or center cut filet and enjoy it and the rooftop experience?
The Grille at Park Place is a hidden gem. They deliver excellent food, top notch service and a great atmosphere. The steaks are grilled to perfection, the Ahi Tina is perfect and the Cheeseburger with bacon a must. Our server was Teresa, she was very attentive, super nice and very knowledgeable on the menu with recommendations.
They have an espresso encrusted ribeye which is a must try if you haven't tasted a coffee encrusted steak. They also have a unique way of serving their loaded baked potatoes - standing on one end with the other end full of loaded goodness. Staff is attentive and friendly.
Fantastic rooftop bar and happy hour spot. Try the shark bite: a sweet red, white, and blue drink with a sugar rim (Curaçao, grenadine, and fruit flavored rums). Very professional and amazing food, as well.
This restaurant has the BEST FOOD and Location in the south side of the city. Very impressed with the wine selections and the Top Deck DJ/Band. Highly Recommend this as a new happening spot in Kansas City!
Mari is the best bartender! She's always got the best attitude, incredible service, and superb cocktails. Love the Grille! Will definitely be back.
Lunch at the Grille during Restaurant Week was excellent. Had the Salmon Salad which surprisingly was not a salad in my thinking and it was wonderful. The bananas foster was incredible as well.
Servers are great! The hostess are kind, smiling and very pleasant. Never had any bad food experience. Every time we come back we discover something new that we love! Atmosphere is upscale without being stuffy. Favorite entree is a tie between the Crab Cakes- all crab by the way, the Duroc Pork Chop with a grown up macaroni and cheese and fresh veggie! All the fish dishes are excellent! Had the Barramundi fish with a Thai curry sauce that could make you wish for more!
WOW!!! That is all i have to say about this restaurant. From the moment we walked into the restaurant we were treated amazingly. Our server David greeted us and told us all about there restaurant and how much effort the chef takes to make the food such good quality that we made the decision of what we were going to eat before he took our drink order. When left everything up to our server, We told him to get us an appetizer (Oyster Rockefeller) and we ordered 5 steaks. OH MY GOODNESS WERE THEY GOOD!!! Perfect MR and the sides were amazing! Not only was it the best service I've ever revived i built a connection with my server and even though he was busy he always made time to talk to us and make our dining experience on of a kind. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!!!
A really great experience. We had the crab cakes, Mac n cheese, key lime pie and a bunch of $6 happy hour appetizers. We pigged out! Totally great experience on the patio. Try the special cocktails. We had several. Delicious!
Great service, friendly server. Three of us decided on appetizers and drinks and one had salmon dinner. Presentation was impressive with every serving. Tasty soup was warm but quickly returned hot when requested. Server was attentive but not intrusive. A most pleasant evening.
Live jazz on the weekend was spectacular! Flavorful foods as well as refreshing drinks. Fun and relaxing atmosphere for a bottle of wine on their patio!
Nice food, the mac and cheese is really good :) they give you massive portions though!
Unique drinks, excellent food, and a fabulous patio. Happy hour from 4-7 is only available at the bar or on the patio.
Great tun appetizer, but steak was nothing great. Service was a little slow, but they were shorthanded due to a server not showing up for work.
Food was great! We stayed for the music on the rooftop, which was wonderful (music and environment), save for the friendly but forgetful and slow service.
Up stairs bar is very nice. The selection of liquor could have been a little wider. Looking forward to going back. Ice skating here also!!
Amazing food. Have been 3 times and every single time the food and service have been absolutely perfect. Yeah it's a little pricey but the food is worth it.
What a gem! Great servers, awesome food, & the best cocktails around. Not impressed w their garden salad...needs some different types of lettuce, as it was iceberg only. It had great extras, so we didn't understand why they only use iceberg...no big deal, but @ $10, we expected more. But...GREAT place, we will go back.
Okay, I was happy to see that a new place had opened in Lea-hood Park Place but I was a little skeptical after the last few offerings were underwhelming. I am happy to say that This new place is really good. I had the Ribeye and it was very well prepared and served. The cheeseburger was massive and not over cooked. It was was on par with the high-end steakhouses but a much better value. We really enjoyed the rooftop bar and the drinks were good. The place has a good Feng Shui and the owner visited our table to make sure everything exceeded expectations. Im so tired of restaurant chains and this place is locally owned and operated. All in all, it's a winner.
Went a couple of weeks ago for happy hour in the upstairs bar. Was really neat... you could look out at the people ice skating. They had a DJ - Good Times I think was the name.... he played some really great dance music..... I was going to only go for a couple of hours and ended up staying till close..... so much fun!!! Been looking but have not seen when the DJ will be back? I hope they post soon!!!
Mixed experiences with the quality of the food... Some great, some just OK. The atmosphere is fantastic; great building and views. The service was excellent. It's a shame this restaurant is closing after labor day.
Hosted a party on the rooftop and it was awesome! Very flexible to work with. Minor glitch was that a DJ was mentioned to be there that night and it didn't happen. Still had a great party! Great food!
Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful. I had the crab cakes which were very meaty, but the broccoli slaw and vegetable medley we're very under seasoned. My wife had the salmon and brussel sprout salad. It was also under seasoned and the salmon was overdone. Cool atmosphere with live jazz music on a Friday night, but I'll probably pass on a second visit.
I loved our appetizers. Ambiance was beautiful indoor and outdoor seating was available. My chicken club was really dry and my hubby requested prime rib medium rare and received it closer to rare. If we return I would definitely not order the chicken club.
The food was disappointing and the service was lacking even though we were only one of three tables when we were there. We won’t be going back and have recommended to friends to avoid it.
Nice atmosphere. Food was not good. Service was also not good. Numerous mistakes by the waiter. Will not be attending happy hour here again.
I'll give a blow by blow on what we ordered: 1) Grilled Artichoke Hearts: $13 - They served us 1.5 artichokes (3 halves). They were actually grilled and seasoned nicely, BUT, the problem was they removed the artichoke HEART from the artichoke. So we ended up getting the outer shell with very little meat left on the leaf. We asked the waitress if they mistakenly removed the heart, and she had no idea what I was even talking about. We sent it back and they did remove it from the check. 2) The Blackened Prime Rib Bites: $14 - The bites were salty and well done. Not bad, just not good. 3) Grouper Special: ??$ - The loaded baked potato was great. The Grouper tasted 3-4 days old. Once again, it wasn't bad, but definitely left an after taste in my mouth. Still tasting it when I got home... 4) Delmonico Ribeye Steak: $33 - Ordered Med Rare - it was a decent cut of steak, but grilled rare and unrested. It was definitely not edible. Center was cold and gummy. Guy who couldn’t eat ribeye enjoyed his wife’s Prime Rib sandwich. 5) Prime Rib Sandwich: $18 – Delicious! It was so good, the Ribeye Guy ate half the PR sandwich and loved it! 6) The French Press coffee: $6 - Very good. 7) Key Lime Pie: $8 - Loved it!! Very, very good!! Overall, we won't go back. Too bad, good location, nice space. inexperienced wait staff. (at least our waitress was not interested in making our experience great). I think the manager breezed by for a split second and asked a quick "How is everything". We nodded and she flew on by. Best of luck, but don't be afraid to make the standards higher and make everything great every time... Thanks.
PRETTY DRESSING - TERRIBLE FOOD I'm only giving two stars because the servers were ok. We went for Mother's Day brunch which was $35 per person. It was definitely NOT a $35 per person brunch. The brunch buffet offered; - a small selection of hard, unflavorful, store bought danishes - fresh fruit salad - tossed salad - biscuits and gravy (without the biscuits which were never refreshed) - sausage patties that were dry, stale and looked store bought in frozen aisle - scrambled eggs with cheese - bacon which was soggy, greasy and inedible - pancakes which were under cooked, flat, and stale - chicken breasts with capers and what tasted like salad dressing marinade. - baked salmon filets which were over cooked, stale, rubbery, and dried out - hash browns that tasted like they from a bag in the freezer section - a Bloody Mary bar which was not inviting - desert bar which offered 3 unappealing deserts None of the food was ever refreshed. The Bloody Mary bar did not look appealing or even sanitary so we paid an additional amount for 5 Bloody Mary that were so-so. It was difficult to eat any of the food because it was so stale and inedible. I attempted to have a pancake but I couldn't lift a single one because they were hard and stuck to the chafing dish. It looked as if the restaurant was an upscale restaurant but it turns out it's just pretty dressing but terrible food. We didn't eat $35 worth of food between the 5 of us let alone $240+. We would have had a much tastier meal at IHOP for a lot less $$$.
Food overall was good. Nice wine selection, but the service was sub par. Our waiter took our appetizer and drink order then disappeared for a good 30 minutes, only to return when we asked to speak to the manager. By this time our drinks were empty and we had intended to order more food, but we needed to leave to make our next engagement on time. We had made reservations that gave us a good 90+ minutes to dine. The manager was not very apologetic, stating that 2 servers had called in sick. Then when our bill came the manager pointed out that he had adjusted our bill, not to compensate us for our poor experience, but he altered the price of the wine as the menu price was not reflected in the computer system yet-Thanks? We were given coupons for our next visit with the terms "free appetizer WITH the purchase of an entree". We have frequented this establishment many times in the past for family events and special occasions, but I don't think we will be eager to return after this experience. Given the high caliber of surrounding dining options and the menu prices at this restaurant, I expected more.
I decided to make reservations here for my grandmother and me for Thanksgiving since it was just the two of us this year. I was very disappointed. For $33 a plate I expected more. The green bean casserole wasn't fully cooked to me. The green beans were very crunchy. They slopped the sweet potato casserole on my plate and marshmallow got all over my turkey and stuffing which was disgusting. There's no getting that flavor off. Key lime pie was just okay. The service was mediocre at best. I realize that the heavy price is because it was a holiday but honestly I got a better Thanksgiving meal for $5 at the cafeteria at my job.
The lack of integrity from the owner puts me off. He is not humble or grateful.... Unfortunate for a fine staff.... The place is a joke..
If I could give no reviews I would ! Very disgusted with this place my wife had surprise party here that she planned over a month ago some of the crowd arrives the waiter stated are you sure that this is you guys type of crowd seriously? We sat and waited for about 30 mins for a menu no one ever arrived the man started being really racist by the way he was acting so strange to us we had been there before and had a beautiful time . My wife went and spoke to the manger we ended up leaving I will not waste my money anywhere I’m not welcomed ! I guess because our skin color we wasn’t welcomed . Never again will I visit here!!!
Horrible service!! It took FOREVER to get anything. I had the prime rib, which was pretty bland in my opinion. The food is about a 2/5 and very overpriced for food that is not top notch. The owner Mitch was sitting on his behind at the bar the whole time we were there. If you're going to open a restaurant, at least know how to come and greet people and thank them for spending money in this pathetic place. Basically the management sucks, the servers suck, and the food was below average. I would NOT recommend this place. I'd rather go to Pig & Finch!
Not a good food or dining experience for the pricepoint. 33 dollar ribeye was beyond chewy for a medium steak. Upright loaded potato was awkward and didn't provide enough non-potato ingredient. Ahi tuna tartar flavor was on, but the cuts and connective tissues from the tuna portion made eating it not fun. Also the "Grille Mule" was a very very watered down ginger beer that scuttled the whole drink. I didn't complain in restaurant as I was very tired from a long two weeks of travel - but I don't get the impression my 'dead in the eyes' waitress would have had a ton of concern.
If I could give zero stars to this restaurant I would. On NYE, we arrived a few minutes early for our reservation (which I made over a month in advance) and was told it would be a few minutes before our table was ready. We watched as people were seated both before and after our reservation time. I approached the hostess a few time over the HOUR that we were waiting at the bar, and was reassured that our table would be available soon. She had multiple excuses... the table was taking their time, they decided to order dessert, etc. When I finally asked an HOUR after our reservation time which table specifically we were waiting on she pointed to the back of the restaurant. REALLY... cause that table just got their salads. hmmm... LIES... it was all LIES. I asked to speak to the manager and waited for them to come as my party got us a table at 801. She actually had no intention of getting the manager as I continued to wait, and then referred me to some man in a tux... who quite frankly was one of the most rude people I've met and kept saying "well it's NYE, what do you expect?" I expect to get a table for my party at the reservation time that I made over a month ago!! Turns out he's the owner according the website, so there will be no more going there for myself or any of my friends! I would advise you to do the same!
Had lunch there today with 3 coworkers. One of my coworkers ordered the fish special. This was a small filet of Mahi Mahi and some green beans. The menu stated "market price". The food was fine, but when the bill came we were charged $31 for an average piece of fish. You can get a filet mignon anywhere within 5 minutes of Park Place for less than $31. Totally taking advantage of a customer trying to patronize a new restaurant. You would think with all the competition in Leawood, there would be more thought to how to price a lunch menu.
