Very friendly people, we had great weather. We got up at 1:30a to drive in from DFW...food was ok. Great potato salad!! Good turkey, moist & tender brisket & chicken was good. Jalapeño sausage was a bit dry & pork steak was ok. Over all the best part was the atmosphere! Yes they have restrooms. Bring chairs, drinks & snacks. Dress for the weather. Even though they open at 8am you will still be in line for a while depending on far back you are.

Taking advantage of Hill Country barbecue is an experience. This unique pit style is something you have to experience, especially if you are not in the central Texas area. The care and attention that you see from Ms. Tootsie is something that other pitmasters should replicate if they want to try this style of barbecue. We visited when there was a windchill that made the outside 14°F in Central Texas. Having been to Snow’s for the first time, it was a great opportunity for us to arrive shortly before it opened, but still in a good spot in line to ensure we got to try all of Kerry and Ms.Tootsie‘s barbecue the ribs that Ms. Tootsie makes are some of the best I’ve ever had there’s a bit of a pull off the bone, but it has the taste of a nice piece of bacon. You can’t go wrong with her brisket as well. The entire group there are accommodating and sweet. It was definitely worth the visit to this small town of just around 1000 people about an hour outside of Austin Texas.

A right of passage for those passionate about the entire BBQ experience. We arrived at 5:15am and were 103 and 104 in line. Snows opened at 7:30am and we received our delicious food by 9:30am. Yes the wait is long however you meet great people and get to see these hardworking folks at work creating memorable BBQ. Thank you Ms Tootsie and your team.

Best BBQ we have ever had! We arrived around 6am and were number 120 or so. The bar eventually opens and had a few cocktails and just enjoyed a gorgeous December Saturday until our turn to go in. We did all the meats and all the sides. The brisket was definitely the star for us. Also the banana pudding was killer. They do run out of food so get there early. My highlight was meeting Kerry and Ms. Tootsie. Worth the drive and the wait.

Very happy with my experience at this Famous BBQ spot, I couldn’t get chicken and it’s a most to try so get before 6am if you really wanna get every single item in the menu. Meeting Tootsie was a real honor. Their Banana Pudding was really a highlight.

Believe the stories and the reviews. This is the real deal, the BBQ lives up to its reputation. It is worth getting up early and making the drive. Dont question it -- just go!

It is worth all the hype. Get there early like 5:30 you’ll be 100 in line. Sounds crazy but it’s worth the line and wait. Meet and great with people. Raffle for cool prizes. Free drinks while you wait. And then the food it’s worth it. Pork shoulder steak was a dark horse the killed it. Turkey was outstanding. And Mr. Kerry and Ms. Tootsie are gems of humans and so awesome to meet. One of if not the best overall experience with BBQ.

Okayyyy we did it!!! We showed up at 4am, to an already long line of people waiting for the famous”snows” B-B-Q! The vibe was just right, a very tailgate atmosphere… bring chairs! The Waite was worth it! The meat melted in your mouth the potato salad has earned honorable mention! Snow’s is only open on Saturday! And the people in the front of the line got there at 8:30pm on Friday:)…. They were having raffles and my lucky hubby won front of the line

Unbelievable. One thing to hear about it, another to experience the magic firsthand from driving there through misty morning valleys, chatting with people from all over the world, and seeing staff we recognized from their Netflix feature. Chicken is a MUST if you can get it before it runs out! Got there at 8:30am which was WAY too late (heard many got there at 5am). Worth the wait. Thank you Tootsie for sharing your perseverance and one-of-kind BBQ with us.

A barbecue experience for the ages. A pilgrimage for the enthusiasts. Arrived at 5.30am and there were already 60+ people in front of us, with some even preparing sleeping bags to spend the nights. By 7am, there were literally more than 100 people in the queue and all of us stood up to display our patriotism and sing the American anthem. The line started moving shortly before 8am and after what seemed like an eternity, it was our turn to order. No visit is complete without trying the legendary brisket, and boy was it amazing. So tender, so delicious, so flavourful, not overly salty, and smoked to absolute perfection. By far the best brisket in all of Texas, and probably in the whole world. Sausages, chicken and pork ribs were good too, just not outstanding like the brisket. To top it off, our visit was blessed by the appearance of none other than the woman, the myth, the legend Tootsie.

This is the most wanted place my husband wants to try in TX. Arrived at 4:50 am — and we are #55 and #56. After queuing at three other BBQ places, this was the only one that started the day by singing the National Anthem around 7:30 am, 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled opening time at 8:00 am. Enjoyed the brisket, pork ribs, and sausage; met the legendary "Queen of BBQ," Tootsie, gave her 90th birthday wishes in person, and took photos with her — an unforgettable experience! She shared that she's still working five days a week at another job. She truly makes 90 look amazing!

Snow’s BBQ was our first stop on our 20th anniversary Texas BBQ extravaganza! Waiting in line for 3 hours was actually soo much fun!! We enjoyed the complimentary whiskey, good music, and great conversations with people we met in line! Snow’s brisket was delicious! We loved the entire experience here and we even met their famous pitmaster Tootsie Tomanetz! She is amazing! The entire crew at Snow’s were incredibly hospitable!

Everything was better than I hoped for. We woke up at 2 AM, drove 150 miles to Lexington and arrived right at 5:10. My girlfriend got out of the car to get a place in line while I looked for parking. We brought a Yeti cooler of beer/twisted tea/water and camping chairs to setup. FYI, as others have stated, they have many chairs on site you can borrow, we just like our own 🙂 The people we talked to in line were all great, very engaging conversations and banter and time passed by super quickly. They started serving at 7:30 rather than 8:00 and we were numbers 93, 94 and 95 in line. 15 minutes in line and we actually won the raffle and got to move to the front of the line!! We couldn’t believe it as this stuff almost never happens, but lucky number 94 was called and Kerry the owner escorted us to the front. We got 1 lb of everything and a pint of all sides. The ladies behind the counter were all super friendly and personable, we enjoyed chatting with them as everything was getting cut and served up. We were able to snag an open table and watch the pit masters at work. We snapped a photo with Ms. Tootsie, who has a smile that could light up a black hole. We were on the road just before 9 and back right at 11:30 to take a nap for a few hours before heading to the movies later. All in all a fantastic Saturday that went better than I could have hoped for in no small part to Snow’s and the wonderful crew there. These people have done an exemplary job of handling fame, remaining humble and personable and we will be back and will bring a few packs of Reese’s for Kerry. Thank y’all so much!

Arrived at 4:45 am Saturday morning. I was number 86 in line. This isn't a normal bbq stop. Opens at 8. Bar, yes I said bar, opens a half an hr earlier. This is an adventure. Tootsie was given an applause when arriving about 7am. Once they started serving, being #86, I was served at 9:18. Only open on Saturday. Word of warning, the group 1st in line, arrived, at 11pm the night before, from Oklahoma. Tells you what the bbq and sides are thought of.

Drove from Houston, TX at 12am. Made it to the Snows by 2:45am luckily we were 10,11,12 in line. The atmosphere and people made your wait pass by quickly. The food i highly recommend, we ordered a little bit of everything off the menu. Brisket was full of flavor, ribs fell off the bone and etc. Miss Tootsie graced us with her presence around 6:30 AM. Her and Kerry were so welcoming but make sure you eat first before approaching them. Early morning, cold weather, and staying warm by bundling up next to the bondfires was something you would want to consider if traveling in colder weather. Overall Corn hole, rafflings, free bar, paying tribute to the star spangled banner, and of course the texas BBQ was definitely worth the experience.

T
Tim Parker

Worth the drive from Austin in the early morning hours. The atmosphere while waiting is fun. The free bar is a nice touch, helps the time go by quickly. The food is phenomenal. Brisket is a must get as are the pork steaks. I would argue the pork steaks are better the second day.

We have had this trip in our orbit for a while and finally life lined up perfectly for us to make the motorcycle ride early Saturday morning for this one of a kind adventure. We arrived at 0500 and were 51/52 in line. We brought chairs with us and some beverages. We met some cool peeps in line and had a good time during the wait. Was a nice outing to be honest. From spot 51, we ended up getting our food around 0930. All good was available to us. We are meat eaters only, so no sides to review here. We got pork ribs, brisket, turkey, pork steak, and jalapeño sausage. I’ll say first off, I enjoyed all of our food, but I’ll try my best to rank it. You can’t go wrong here though with any choice. I’d say the sausage was above average but good. The turkey was delicious and moist, a nice surprise. The brisket is probably most popular, and it was excellent but I am ranking the pork steak slightly higher and ribs were top billing for me. The staff was very friendly and it was so nice to “meat” Tootsie and Kerry. It was cool to see Clay working the fires and turning the brisket early too. Overall, I am impressed with the operation, quality of food and hospitality of all the staff. This was definitely worth the trip on the Texas bucket list. I drove from Austin and I’ll put this BBQ up against anything in Austin any day of the week. Come out and support your local restaurants. I highly recommend this place!

Last time I was here was 9 years ago. My have things changed! First of all their line is crazy! Get here early! We got there at 630 and we got lucky to get food. Anyways I took a lot of pictures. Unfortunately not of the food because that food was so darn good. My wife said it was the best turkey she's ever had and those pork ribs hit the spot. Then you add their barbecue sauce and you might as well die and go to heaven because it was delicious. Definitely come visit and definitely come early

V

Go for the fun. Go for the experience. Go for the free booze! Don't go for the food. I'd wait in line again at 6am for 5 hours to meet interesting people, day drink, and spend time with friends. If it was just for the BBQ, nah imma pass. It wasn't bad at all, just not amazing. The half chicken was pretty dang good though

C
Chris Ross

My wife and left the the house at 4 in the morning to get here by 6. We were third in line. While waiting to open there were people from as far away as Pennsylvania to Australia waiting as well. The brisket was great but if you go here you really need to try the pork steak. There was a lot of other good stuff to eat like a half of a chicken and ribs as well. Really good banana pudding too. By 7:30 am the line was around the corner and the majority of people had a beer in hand, but most of all it was a great time. Thank you Snows BBQ

I was given the brisket, sausage, ribs, bbq sauce and pork shoulder for Father's Day this year. It was ordered online and sent to us and man was all of it amazing. These guys really know what they are doing and it shows. Amazing! Some of the best bbq that I have ever tasted.

Definitely visit this place at least once. Watch the Netflix show about it too, it's a really nice story. Tootsie is a legendary pitmaster and we were fortunate to see her and take a picture with her the day we went. It was also (they said) a day with an unusually small line before opening. We arrived at 7am and ate around 10:15. Take chairs, water and bug spray with you. Also recommend having a very light breakfast before heading to this place because a full BBQ on an empty stomach can be heavy. The brisket is definitely the star of the show here. For comparison, I thought it was a bit better than Terry Black's (less smoky, better seasoning). The pork ribs were really good as well. The most surprising items which I thought were unusually good were the chicken and the turkey; definitely try these. In all the meats, the seasoning was on-point and it's just mostly salt and pepper. For the sides, the beans left a lot to be desired, and I wish they made corn bread and mac and cheese.

As a Southerner who grew up eating bbq, and smoking meat for almost 2 decades, Snow’s is the truth! Yeah, you gotta get there long before the sun rises to wait a couple hours til they open, but it’s totally worth it. We arrived around 5:30am and were #76 in line. By the time they opened, there were around 250 or so. Shortly before opening, Mr Kerry did his raffle and we won! Moved up to the front! The folks up at the front of the line had gotten there around 2am, a father and son had actually camped out from the night before. It’s definitely a devoted crowd. The bbq itself was the best I’ve ever had. From the brisket, to chicken, to pork steak, to turkey, to ribs, it was all outstanding. Everything was perfectly smoked/seasoned, juicy not dry. Mr Kerry and Mrs Tootsie were nice enough to take pics with folks, and talk a little bit, in between their work around the smokers/stoves. If you’re serious about bbq, you MUST go here. You’ll be glad you did.

Went to this place with my son, heard about it on Netflix and wanted to see what the hype was about. We got there at 6:30 and we were still 120th in line, so my advice is if you want to go get there early. They were sold out of chicken within the first hour, and that's what they're known for, but we got the brisket, sausages, ribs, and the turkey breast. Plenty of leftovers which is what we were looking for. Really like the atmosphere, it is traditional Texas BBQ and the setting is a bit old school but I love it. Also we got some of the banana pudding and it was fantastic, which says a lot for me because I've had barbecue from all over and that's got to be the best freaking pudding ever. Potato salad was real good too but they were out of beans by the time I got there. All that to say make sure you get there early because it's worth it. They have raffles to get you a better place in line, they serve drinks but for tips only which makes it really nice. The staff there is very helpful and kind, I wanted to spend the whole day there! Did not get to meet the famous Tootsie, but we did meet Kerry, who is the owner and fellow pitmaster to Tootsie. You can tell everybody was working hard to bring you some of the best barbecue they possibly could and boy did they deliver! I definitely want to come here one more time before I leave Texas as I am active duty military. Love me some good barbecue, love me some Snow's! Keep up the great work y'all!

BE PREPARED FOR A 4-7 HOUR WAIT Now that you know this is an all day affair to just get your food, come with weather appropriate attire and possible foldable chairs. They do their best to make the wait a part of the experience by offering free alcohol and a concession stand where you can buy merch, donuts, and coffee. I arrived at 6:45am to get in line and was the 217th person. By the time I got inside (seven hours later) all the sides, dessert, and chicken were sold out. With all that said this is some of the best brisket on the planet. It has a very unique flavor that seems to come from masterful smoking. While it may not melt in your mouth like other BBQ institutions, it is perfectly tender unlike any other brisket I've had. The pork steak is also a true revelation as it falls apart with just a touch of your eager fingers. My sausage was tougher to my liking but had a great flavor. Would I do this again? Probably not. Am I glad I went to taste the work of a master? No doubt about it.

As a tourist from Brazil, I was eager to experience authentic Texas barbecue, and Snow's BBQ did not disappoint! From the moment I stepped in, the aroma of smoked meats tantalized my senses. The brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a perfect balance of smoky flavor and juicy goodness. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, and the sausage had just the right amount of spice. The sides were equally impressive, especially the creamy mac and cheese and the tangy coleslaw. What truly sets Snow's BBQ apart is the friendly atmosphere and hospitality. The staff was welcoming and eager to share their passion for barbecue with me. Despite the long line, the wait was worth it, and I appreciated the opportunity to chat with locals and fellow travelers while we anticipated our feast. For tourists from Brazil or anywhere else visiting Texas, I highly recommend Snow'sj BBQ for an unforgettable barbecue experience. Make sure to arrive early to beat the crowd, and don't forget to try their legendary brisket—it's a must-have!

We got there at 4am and we're 40th in line and able to get everything on the menu when they opened.... Which was early on the day that we were there.. around 7:30am.. the line moves slow. I think if you come by 5am, there were about 60 people..after 6am there are close to 100 people..we ate and were in our car by 8:45. # the brisket was the best I have ever had. The sausage and turkey were outstanding. My son loved the ribs. The coleslaw and potato salad were very average and small. I give the pork roast a meh. Make sure to get the banana pudding too. This place is a must for bbq fans. Make sure to bring a folding chair.

This place lives up to the hype, I saw the Netflix show almost 4 years ago and since wanted to taste the magic of “Tootsie” or how they say bbq queen in action. We left our home in Austin at 4:10 and reached Lexington Texas, around 5:25 to be 80th in line. Yes it’s insanely popular u’ll definitely find a family or two who’ve been out there camping since 9pm the night before. it’s a good drive however the last 25 miles can be scary pitch black driving through the country side with no traffic whatsoever an occasional snake sighting is a bonus. Food is the AMAZING, brisket melts in your mouth ribs are sooooo tender they fall off the bone. Sausages are very soft and flavourful I loved the jalapeño one better while my kids enjoyed the regular more. Like most Texas bbq places sauce is Very complimentary to the meats without over powering the meat flavours. Banana pudding and slaw are rustic in my opinion. We’ll definitely be going back as now this whole adventure and food is our family fav.

Got in line at 6:00 am and were 14th from the front. They absolutely deserve their #1 ranking. The brisket was incredible. The pork ribs and shoulder were outstanding. The sausage and chicken were perfectly on point. Tootsie and the other staff were fantastic hosts. Great experience and the highlight of our trip that included visiting 8 top-50 bbq joints

Holy smokes. Best I've ever had. Arguably the best in Texas. Get there EARLY. 5am. Bring a folding chair. Coffee. Half the fun is the people you meet in line waiting for them to open. Real fun starts around 8am though. IYKYK Brisket melts in your mouth. Perfectly done. Barq. Smoke rings. Juicy. Ribs... Tender, perfect seasoning. A total experience.

We drove 4 hours and waited in line for four more to try this and it didn’t disappoint. It was worth the drive and the waiting in line . I got a half pound of everything Brisket,Chicken,Pork Steak,Sausage,Pork Ribs and Turkey. My favorite was the Turkey hands down. Sausage was extremely tasty as well and ranks second. Brisket,Ribs and chicken were very good too. The pork steak was a favorite among the crowd but for me it was something I wouldn’t order again. It was to thick, dry and lacked flavor. The bbq sauce is ok and the potato salad was very good. Banana pudding was average as well. Overall, I would go back but not killing myself to get there.

I had been wanting to go for a long time and finally made it out. Staff is super nice and have thought about the people that wait for their food. It's more than food but an experience. The food is good though too!

What an experience!! Got there a little after 4am, about 30 people in front of us. Probably over 200 by the time they opened and started serving at 7:30. You can tell Snow's crew puts their heart and soul into their food and ensuring everyone has a good experience. These will be the best ribs you have ever had. Bathrooms are clean and proper. You don't regret coming!

Was at Snow’s BBQ for the first time today. Arrived just before 6am. Was number 124. They opened about 7:30. We got our food about 9:40. At that point they had not sold out on anything so we got some of each. Fantastic atmosphere and great BBQ. I recommend all the BBQ items. We have been to several top rated BBQ joints in TX. Snow’s is right up there. The BBQ had less seasoning which allowed the meat and smoke to come through. Highly recommend. Even got a pic with Miss Tootsie.

Very interesting experience. I would give it 4 stars, but all the free alcohol I drank calls for 5 stars. Loved the open bar. Got there at 4am and sat in line until about 7:45 when they opened. (Lawn chairs are available free). Then I stood a little while longer, moving in line to get my food. I was going to sit and eat but when I got the food it wasn't hot (just somewhat warm), so I took it home to reheat it. Food was good but I imagine it was even better when it was fresh rather than a day later when I got home to heat it. Atmosphere was lovely.

First of all, the BBQ was just delicious. It was juicy, tender, and just a delight to eat. Second, the banana pudding was the perfect finish. I tried every meat and found them all to be delicious. Their BBQ sauce was average for me, but great BBQ does not need sauce. I happily dismissed the sauce aside. The experience was fun but hard to repeat. I arrived at 5:30 am. There were already 115 people the before me. I was number 116. Fortunately, brought lawn chairs and came with friends to pass the time. Around 7 am, a raffle began where we all identified our number in line, and could win bbq sauce, 10% off the whole order, moving up in line, a t-shirt and several other prizes. Very cool of Snow's to do that. It excited everyone and lifted our spirits as 8 am approached more quickly as a result. I did not win, but witnessed others winning. Very cool! 8 am rolled around and the line moved slowly but steadily. We got our BBQ by 11:45 am. Hungry and tired, I bought a lot of BBQ. Ate some there and enjoyed looking at the pits, the Snow team and took in the experience. It was fun, very memorable and worth the wait. After arriving home I packed the BBQ and shared some with the family. They loved it too. Try out out at least once, but get there early to make sure you get what you want.

We visited here this past weekend (4/24) and it was an amazing experience! We arrived at 5AM and were 86 & 87 in line. To give some perspective, the first person in line had arrived at 10:30 PM the night before, and the first person not on the porch arrived at 3AM. Bring chairs and dress accordingly. They start handing out free beverages (beer, bloody Mary’s, and a mimosa concoction). Be sure to tip well! We ordered our food at 10AM and it was more than worth the wait. The brisket and sausage were absolutely delicious! We were less fond of the pork steak, but not because of any fault in the preparation; we just aren’t fond of that cut/meat in general but felt the need to try it out. We didn’t have any sides; we didn’t want to take up valuable stomach space! 😄

Met expectations and beyond. If you want everything on the menu you have to be atleast 100 or below in line (probably be there by 3-5 am). We came around 7:30am and the pork shoulder steak and chicken were out by the time we got close. They write what’s “out”on the outside. My main reason for going is to try THE BEST brisket out there and I went to a few before going here. And it was better than I could have imagined. I’m wondering how they keep it warm. When we got our food I expected room temperature maybe but it was actually pretty warm. Takeaways: RIBS ARE A MUST! I never bit into ribs and experienced what I experienced. The feeling is truly indescribable. Brisket: duh Sausage came off the bench and performed beyond expectations Beans : I got the last of it and it was still mmmmmmm Turkey breast: was surprisingly on point LOVE the free open bar. They give you drinks and beers and only take tips if you can give. Everyone is super friendly aswell. Made a few friends! Need to go back to try the chicken because they were sold out and at first I was like this is a good experience to do once but 👏🏼I 👏🏼am 👏🏼definitely 👏🏼going👏🏼back.

Fortunately for me, the rain seemed to scare some of the early crowd away. We got in line at 5am and were numbers 17 and 18. They opened up about 7:30 and we had our food by 8am. The experience (even with the rain) was special. I’ll probably get a little bit of hate for this, but historically I’m not a big brisket fan. It turns out that I just never had good brisket. It’s been a week and I’m still dreaming about it. Lose some sleep and go to Snow’s. You won’t be disappointed. Also… we got all of this for $75.

I guess part of the popularity in making it scarce. Got there about 8:30, waited in line 2 plus hours, only to go into a little room with one woman cutting. Super nice, but come on. That being said, it ranked number one on my BBQ tour, which include Brenham, Lockhart, and Luling. Best of the best

Snows BBQ is definitely an experience for the bbq lover. We arrived just after 0300 and was #15 in line. After plenty of waiting and battling the wind the action started at 0730. Everything was very solid! Brisket, pork steak, ribs, jalapeno sausage and especially the half chicken. I wouldn't say it was the best bbq I've ever had, but it was definitely a great experience with fantastic food and a fun atmosphere full of wonderful people. Snows is a must stop for a full tx bbq experience!

We weren't sure about getting up at 3:30am to go wait in line to have BBQ for breakfast, we were skeptical of all the hype of Snow's BBQ BUT WE ARE ALL SO HAPPY WE DID IT !!! This was our favorite part of our Texas trip. All the food was so good. Easily the best ribs & brisket we have ever had. It was so good we didn't even use any extra sauce. We will certainly be making another trip all the way from Wisconsin to Texas to have Snow's again.

Woke up at 2am and arrived there about 4am, we got to be 70th in line and it was such an experience!! If you plan to go, take chairs to sit and pack snacks and drinks. Around 7:30am Kerry came out do raffles for multiple prizes then the gift shop and free bar opened. We didn’t eat till about 11am. Everything was so delicious and well WORTH the wait!! We even got a picture with Miss Toostie and Terry! If you haven’t gone, plan a trip ASAP! Best BBQ I’ve had in my life! This trip has been one for the books!

Flavor: A Service: A Tea: A Solo dining: F We arrived at 6 AM and were #158 and #159. We got to go inside for our food about 11 AM. The time passes quicker than I thought it would and we met great folks in line around us. I’m definitely glad we got to try it while Tootsie was still pitmastering. I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute best I’ve ever had but it’s among the best for sure. Perfectly tender and juicy brisket. I really liked their sausage - it’s a unique texture and so tasty. The banana pudding was the star of the sides in my opinion. Not long after we ordered they were out of chicken and banana pudding so 6 AM seemed like a good time to get in line if you want to try everything.

What an experience. First off, I read the reviews. I knew what to expect. It delivered in every way. We arrived at 4am and were numbers 71 & 72 in line. They opened early at 7:45 and it took just about an hour to get inside to order. Brisket, pork steak, chicken, ribs, and sausages. The brisket was amazing. The chicken was a little salty but beyond that, tender and so so juicy. The ribs were delicious. Now the pork steak. I’ve never had this before and my goodness it was good. So soft and Smokey and tender. So so good. The links were as to be expected by the reviews, pretty standard. The experience as a whole was great. Hours of conversation with total strangers from places you may or may not have been. The owner walking around speaking to everyone. Raffles. Drinks. Games. It was more like a weekend bbq at a family’s house. I’m in from Oregon and made the hour drive from Austin to check it out. If you’re in the area, make an effort to check it out.

Tootsie is a living legend with good reason. She surely does “smoke the good stuff”. It was an honor to make her “Texas Salad” my breakfast. We got on the road from Austin at 4:30am. We were numbers 48 and 49 in line. It was an amazing experience with a friend. I love Texas. I love bbq. This trip and place make easy to remember why.

I’ve had the pleasure of trying most of the highly reviewed BBQ spots across the USA! This is by far one of the best, bar none in the state of Texas! If you like a dry rub style, flavorful, juicy, cooked to perfection BBQ. Make this place a stop. For the wet style lovers, they do offer their own home made sauce on the side. So something for everyone. From the ribs, to the pork shoulder, chicken, brisket, and even the sides. They are all worth a try. For desert, try some of that banana pudding. It’s delicious! People from all over come to try this place. The gentleman in front of us, drove 33 hours from Canada, just to try the food. But fair warning. BE HERE EARLY! They open at 8am - close is when they run out or 1pm! They are only open on Saturdays, and there will be a line. Typically at least an hour wait to get through if your not one of the first. Once inside you order the meats by the pound, the sides are served in two sizes. There is seating, however it is outside. If your not from Texas. Check the weather, lol, it changes day to day. The humidity here makes it feel much hotter. But we’ll worth the stop. Thank you for serving us and having such amazing hospitality. Along with such amazing BBQ.

Been here twice and had a chance to see Ms. Tootsy in person, but she was pretty busy preparing our BBQ. Open on Saturday morning only; yeah, I had to drive from Houston early in the morning to get the front line at 8 am. Definitely one of the best BBQ in Texas. I'd highly recommend the moist brisket because of the smoke and the fat. Sausages and ribs are also delicious.

Food was all excellent. I had the brisket which was tasty, the pork which was also good and the sausage which was excellent. The line is crazy. I got there at 3:30 am and was 29th in line. The line really starts pickup at around 5:30, so I would suggest getting there prior to then. There were people from 5 different countries in front of me. Pretty cool to see.

Snows lives up to the hype. Enjoy the experience and get there super early. We arrived at 6:15 am and there were over 200 people in front of us! The brisket was the best I've ever had, and I'm a BBQ freak. Surprisingly good was the pork steak! We got it at the suggestion of Kerry himself. It was great! BTW, Kerry and everyone representing Snow's BBQ is friendly and they enjoy what they're doing. Treat yourself and make the trek it is absolutely worth it!

Arrived at 6:05am on January 25th. It was a cold brisk morning and we were 58th and 59th in line. While it says it opens at 8am, they actually started serving closer to 730. We were eating at 9am as 58/59th in line. Atmosphere was great. Very communal, everyone in a great mood in line being very friendly. We made friends with those infront and behind us. Food was insane. Legitimately the best brisket I’ve ever had.

This place is an absolute gem. The people here are fantastic and Kerry really does a good job making sure all in line get what they need. We were lucky enough to have been chosen by their raffle got moved to the front of the line. We got there at 5:30 am and were 72 and 73 in line. The brisket is definitely the star of the snow but everything else is phenomenal.we also absolutely love the pork shoulder steak. For the BBQ that we tried in the are this was our favorite. Terry Blacks is a close second but if you’re willing to stand in line… this place is absolutely worth it. Hats off to all involved in that operation. You’ve done a fantastic job.

Wonderful food and a great experience. We got there at 4am and had about 40people ahead of us in line. It moves quick though. Ribs were my favorite

Absolutely amazing!!! Had to get up at 3:30am to get in line at 5:30am and then wait until 9:30am to get our BBQ, and it was totally worth it!! Definitely go with some friends, bring some chairs and games for your wait in line. They keep things interesting by raffling off prizes. Usually they have a winery, brewery or distillery handing out samples while you’re there. And of course, you have to meet Tootsie, the Texas BBQ queen, if you get a chance. Watch her documentary on Chef’s Table on Netflix. If you are a lover of BBQ, this one spot you can’t afford to miss.

We came here a couple weeks ago and got to experience the line for about 2.5 hours - the free drinks were awesome. Everyone was super friendly and the food was delicious! It was definitely exciting seeing Tootsie working her craft and I'd come back again

An overall fantastic trip! We arrived around 4:30am and were 72nd in line. The early morning darkness was enjoyable with some country music playing and the smell of clean smoke in the air. We saw Ms. Tootsie arrive a little after 5am. Around 7am the manager Kerry started making announcements for various things, including when the (free) bar opens and how the raffles would work. The raffles started and I won a Snow's Yeti cup! Other prizes included various Snow's merch and one lucky person won a trip to the front of the line. The bar opened at 730am and had beer, mimosas, bloody Mary's and whiskey available for tips. The food line started moving right at 8am and by 9am we had our food at a table and enjoyed really delicious BBQ. The brisket was good (Interstellar was better). The chicken was amazing, so flavorful all throughout! The pork ribs were probably the best I've ever had.. tender without falling apart, with a nice pull. The jalapeno sausage was also among the top we've ever had. The pork steaks were also good, but slightly dry. Overall, we had a fun trip. Woke up before 3am, had BBQ at 9am and were back home in bed by 11am in a full bbq coma! Haha

I've been at snow's this weekend and had a really good time. We arrived at 8, so there was a huge line ahead of us and we got our food around 3.5 hours later. But waiting there in line is more like a family get together and the time just flies by. We had brisket, ribs, turkey, pork steak, coleslaw, potato salad and banana pudding and everything we ate was delicious. The food is nothing fancy, just straight forward barbecue which is cooked and seasoned perfectly. As a huge BBQ fan I had to go there once and it was definately worth it. If you're not that much into it, it might not be your place to go.

Snow's BBQ never disappoints. Always bring my friends and family here - ALWAYS A GREAT TIME!! Try the chicken if you're lucky enough, and definitely the pork ribs!!! Being a part of memories in the making - nothing better on a Saturday morning.

After hearing numerous people talk about Snow's, and watching the Netflix documentary, we (wife and 2 kids) made the 2 hour trek to Lexington. We arrived 5 minutes before they opened and there were at least 100 people in front of us, most of them had brought lawn chairs to sit in while waiting in line. It was hot, but we were in the shade most of the time. ***You'll need a way to entertain yourself and kids. Music plays on their sound system and there's a Cornhole game, but not much else...unless you decide to buy souvenirs or have a drink at the popup bar outside.*** 2 hours and 45 minutes later we finally made it inside the building to place an order. Fortunately, they had only run out of potato salad by the time we ordered. We had (sold by the pound) regular and jalapeno sausage, brisket, chicken (sold by the half), and beans. Complimentary pickles, onions, sliced bread, and barbecue sauce were included with our food (self-service). We opted to skip the other sides and dessert (coleslaw and banana pudding). Because all tables were occupied, we took a few photos and drove to a nearby park to eat. The food was great! I don't think that I'd wait in line for it again, but everyone was pleased with what we bought. We all agreed that we'd probably use our own favorite barbecue sauces when we eat the leftovers later tonight. Leave your house extra early to avoid the long line, bring water bottles, chairs, and a game for the wait, order extra food--it's good.

Check that smoke ring!! I think it really is the best BBQ I've ever had. I bought 1 of everything and 4 vacuum packed briskets too. We were first in line at 11p, and the line quickly built behind us. The line seemed to explode while we slept. We fell asleep around 2ish. Tootsie was kind enough to let us have a picture with her. What she has created, from the food to the environment, is amazing. We loved our experience. We loved the BBQ. Bring the $$$ they have merch too. Clean restrooms available! It's all amazing.

In this little community that inhabits no more than 1100 residents you will find a tiny BBQ outlet, opened only on Saturdays that in all its smallness has the biggest name in BBQ today: Snow’s BBQ. Back in the 90’s founder and owner Kerry Bexley knew that the town of Lexington lacked a local go to place for quality BBQ. In the Lexington community BBQ on Saturday was already a tradition set in stone. From 2003 till 2008 Kerry and Tootsie were mostly serving their smoked meats to locals and auction visitors. This all changed when Texas Monthly named Snow’s BBQ “Best BBQ in Texas”. This placed the small outlet with blinking lights on the radar of all who loved traditional BBQ. The locals were all of a sudden joined in line by people from out of state and even from other countries that had read the article, seen the number one position and were very eager to try the best of the best. The line lengthened but the quality remained. Snow’s BBQ managed to keep pole position from 2008 till 2013. From 2013 till 2017 they were passed by Aaron Franklin from Austin but regained their number one status in 2017 and have kept this honor till today. In the Snow’s BBQ cooking area, you will find two types of BBQ pits. There are the well known offset smokers with their heavy doors and characteristic counterweights used for cooking brisket and pork spareribs. They are found in the back of the cooking area and can be seen in action whilst eating alongside them on the covered patio. The other pits are custom built direct-heat pits that I’ve only seen in Texas. Meat slowly cooks on the grates 30 inches above the bed of hot coals allowing the fat to render out, dripping on the hot coals releasing small bursts of flavor explosions each time a drop of fat hits an ember, sending aromatic arrows right back up to the meat. Because of the distance between meat, fire and the controlled environment due to the lids on the pits, flare ups or grease fires are something Tootsie has no worries about. Temperature control is based purely on Toostie’s experience since the pits don’t have a thermometer. What makes Snow’s BBQ so special?Texas BBQ on its own is known for its no fuss BBQ. Salt, pepper, meat and fire, that’s it. No sauces or frills to distract or cover up mistakes made in the pit. Ok, Snow’s BBQ adds a fifth element to their BBQ repertoire: a mopping sauce used on some of their meats keeps things moist in their pits. What you will find on their menu covers the BBQ staples found throughout most of Texas these days: brisket, pork spareribs, chicken, turkey breast, two types of sausages and a pork shoulder steak. The pork steak is a signature item rarely seen in other BBQ-restaurants. This two to three inch thick cut from the pork shoulder is seasoned with nothing but salt and coarse ground black pepper and slow smoked over a hot bed of coals. Every now-and-then it gets mopped with a liquid that only Tootsie knows the exact ingredients of. It is rumored to be made with water, onions, butter, Worcestershire, and mustard. Come to think of it, it is quite remarkable that in beef loving Texas a BBQ joint whose signature item is made of pork reigns the rankings. Regardless of your menu choices, you are guaranteed to sink your teeth in BBQ goodness. The sausages have that perfect snap and smoke infusion, the brisket is moist, tender and bold in flavor, even the challenging turkey breast drips of moisture and subtlety. It’s the fact that each and every item on their menu consistently embodies perfect BBQ that they rightfully carry their claim to provide Texas best all-round BBQ and you should join the line to experience it yourself.

I finally got a chance to visit Snow’s bbq. And wow what an experience. Drove in from houston. So about a 2 hour drive to get here. Arrived around 9am and there was about 60 people in line. We ordered a lot of stuff for a group of ten people. The pork steak, chicken, brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, reg sausage, pork ribs. The sides were bbq beans, potato salad, Cole slaw. And also came with white bread, onions, pickles, and jalapenos. The pork steak was incredible! I’ve never had pork steak like that before. The brisket was nice and fatty. The potato salad reminded me of grade school in a good way. I got a photo with tootsie as well. What a great bbq experience. Recommendation: pork steak, brisket, and chicken

Once in a lifetime experience, unless you go there again. It’s hard to eat brisket now that I’ve had Tootsie’s love on the meat. The ride home was difficult with two men and their gas. I will never forget how good the meat was since they ran out of sides right before we were able to order. Bring a cooler and lawn chairs. Show up early and enjoy the ride. It’s a special experience.

We actually live in Iowa my wife and I made it a road trip. We went back home to see our family for Thanksgiving in RGV and we stopped here for the experience and we don’t regret it we did not mind the waiting in line they had open bar the food and the people are amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Finally made it to Snow’s and it was an amazing experience. Arrived at 6am. It was a very cold 30 degree morning so we came prepared with blankets and warm clothes. We were numbers 114 and 115. Chicken ran out at customer #82. We sat down to eat at around 11am. We tried the Brisket, both sausages, turkey , pork steak and pork ribs. My favorite was the pork ribs and brisket and the turkey was very good too. Both sausages were a little too dry for me but several in our group liked them. Overall incredible experience. Met some wonderful people and ended up sharing a fantastic meal with them. Staff is awesome. Happy to finally see Mrs. Tootsie in action.

The hype is real and well deserved. Waited about 4.5 hours. It was well worth it. The time flew by. The ribs may be the best I've ever had. The turkey was to die for. The atmosphere was amazing. I had a chance to chat with Kerry, the owner, and Ms. Tootsie, the pit master. They do BBQ right. The staff was so friendly and efficient. Yes, they are only open on Saturday. Make plans. Get there early. Based on what I could tell, 5:00 am seems like a good time to get there. I did meet someone there who got in line at 10:00 pm the night before. He was first in line. Go!!!

Amazing place, this is like my third time there, though I haven't been there in over 17 years prior to today. It was exactly as I remembered food quality taste flavor wise. Got to introduce my fiance to the BBQ place, he also enjoyed it very much! Alot changed since the last time I went, but not the food, flavor or quality. You still need to get there by 5am for a decent spot in line! Lol that part has not changed and I am glad, they deserve the business. True Texas BBQ, not with outerstate influence, like other places. So if I were to ever suggest top BBQ places to visit in Texas if your visiting, Snows would be on top.

Amazing. The food, atmosphere, and experience. My buddy and I drove down from OK. Got in line at 2:30a.m. and were 26/27 in line. By 4:30 a.m., we could not see the end of the line since it had already wrapped around the building. Brought some chairs, but they also have some there too. Around 7-7:30, they opened the bar and the merch store. You get assigned a number in line, and around that time, they start doing raffle prizes as well. Doors opened around 7:45. We ordered at 8:30 and we're able to find a seat without issue. We ordered some of everything. Both the brisket and the pork shoulder steak are a must-have if you are going to Snow's. Terrific experience through and through.

TLDR: food is great line is long bit worth the wait. We arrive at 7:30am we ate at 10:30am we were 115 and 116th in line and by the time we got to the front they ran out of coleslaw. Kid friendly if they can manage the wait dog friendly outdoor area only bring lawn chairs to help with the wait. Best brisket and chicken I've ever had. Bring a pen to sign the guest book to let them know where you came from. Met some super great people too

I am really unable to share my review of their atmosphere as I ordered online and it it shipped to my house. BUT the smoked Pork Steak was absolutely delicious. It is gigantic. Enough to feed a family or one real hungry Texan. Following their instruction on heating it turned out juicy and tender. Just the right amount of smoke and perfect seasoning. The Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce was a bit spicy for me but hubby loved it. Ordering was easy and delivery was quick. I can not wait to try the ribs I ordered next.

This place has the best ribs I've ever had. We were there when Miss Tootsie was in Kansas so we didn't get to meet her. The brisket was very good. I would rank it a 9 out of 10 with flavor, but it was a little dry. And I felt they should have not served it. The owner was friendly and offered a drawing that I actually won one of the prizes. So the atmosphere was fantastic. Everyone was in a good mood and excited to be there. They did run out of chicken before I got any and I was really looking forward to it. We would go back

If you’re searching for true, old-school Texas BBQ, this spot is an absolute treasure. The flavors are deep and authentic, and the brisket is some of the moistest I’ve ever tasted—tender, smoky perfection in every bite. They’re only open on Saturdays, but it’s well worth planning your weekend around. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming—one of those places where you feel like family the moment you arrive. And of course, the heart of it all is the legendary 91-year-old pit master, Ms. Tootsie. Her experience, passion, and craftsmanship shine through in every plate she serves. BBQ with this much soul is rare. Adding to the fun, Kerry, the owner of Snow’s BBQ, hosts a lucky drawing each time, with prizes ranging from skipping the line to free merch or even 10% off your entire order. A must-visit for any true BBQ lover.

I guess I forgot to post my review, I recall having one typed out though… We went on August 23rd, got in line at 6AM, and were #68 and #69. They have music playing, and the smokers in view to see the behind the scenes while you wait. They play the national anthem, then open up the bar, and the line starts moving. We got seated with our food at 9:35AM, and got little bit of everything. Brisket, turkey breast, pork shoulder, sausage, potato salad, and banana pudding. The brisket was so tender and juicy, it’s ranked my #1 brisket out of the handful of TM Top 50 bbq spots we’ve visited. I’m not a pork person, but I read a lot of reviews raving about the pork shoulder, so I wanted to try it. It was unbelievably delicious!! I was shocked! I wish I had gotten more! The sausage and turkey breast were also just as delicious as the other meats. I wasn’t a big fan of the banana pudding, it wasn’t very cold, and bananas were already browned. The potato salad was great! The sweet tea was perfect! Last but not least, the staff treats you like family! They were so welcoming and friendly, took time to have conversation, and make sure you had everything you needed! I wish I lived closer to visit them often, as I still crave their bbq months later. We traveled from DFW to get there. Snow’s deserves to be in the top 10 hands down!!

Great experience! We arrived at 4:20 AM and were 15th and 16th in line. We chatted with others while we waited—everyone was friendly! **Tip:** Bring a chair if you can. If you forget, don’t worry—they have some available to lend. They opened a little before 8:00 AM, and by 8:20, we had our food and were sitting down to eat. We even got a picture with Kelly and Tootsie, which made the visit extra special. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Excellent experience on Sat 1st of November. Cold day, with chance of rain so no much line. We arrived at 5am and were 24-25. They gave us coffee while we waited and closer to 8am they did a raffle and we won a shirt. We had the brisket, pork ribs, sausage, pork steak, and banana pudding. Meats were very good, pork ribs were our favorite. Banana pudding also excellent, home made flavor. We also tried the sweet/unsweet tea, good alternative if you are not drinking. Kerry was around a lot, and took pictures with everyone. Tootsie came up at around 7, also very friendly! Some logistics: we arrived early so there were “free” chairs you could grab but there were not many. Parking is right next to the place, plenty of it. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience!

Adding another amazing review of this legendary Texas BBQ establishment. I arrived at 5:45 and I was 68th in line. It was a quiet Saturday morning. Everyone sat and spoke amongst themselves. A few people milled around taking in the scene. The smell of smoke filled the pre-dawn air and the stars and moon were shining above. I knew I had arrived at a place that lives up to its name, even before tasting the food. When they opened at 8 am sharp the early morning light created a magical scene, and the line slowly began to move. They have their entire ordering and dining service down to perfection. There is enough seating to allow everyone time to enjoy their meal. It seemed like by the time one table was getting up to leave the next group of happy customers was coming out of the door with their platter of food, anxious to eat BBQ for breakfast. I am so grateful to have eaten here and I got to meet Mrs. Tootsie and Kerry. Amazingly generous, genuine good people. I was also lucky enough to be one of three lucky winners of that days raffle. I scored a free BBQ seasoning. Thanks for the experience.

Arrived at 5am and I’ve got a line number #42, it was the greatest Texan barbecue tastes in my life. Brisket was tender and juicy, ribs and sausages were great. And I also ordered pork shoulders and turkey breasts were insanely amazing too. I’m not living in Austin and Texas, but its really worth rushing and waiting at the early Saturday morning. Really pleasurable moment in my life.

When they say nothing good happens after midnight, they’ve clearly never given up a whole night of sleep for barbecue. TL;DR Camped out on the front porch of Snow’s BBQ for the holy grail of Texas smoked meats. Got there at 11 p.m., landed second in line, and waited 9 hours for the pit to open. Worth every minute. The chicken was legendary, the pork steak divine, and I left with a belly full of meat and stamp #29 in the TM passport. Most people head to Lexington on Saturday mornings. I hit the road Friday night, dragging my daughter along for some true BBQ bonding and a shot at being first in line at Snow’s. Spoiler alert: we missed the top spot by 30 minutes. But second place still gets brisket so I wasn’t about to start crying into my folding chair. Waiting in line culture is its own kind of magic. We talked BBQ lore with fellow die-hards, took cat naps between meat-scented breezes, and watched the stars shift overhead while the smoke never stopped drifting from those hallowed pits. As the night wore on, the rhythm of the pit crew: Kerry, Clay, and the gang, began moving like smoke-slinging ninjas. Around 7 a.m., the legend herself, Ms. Tootsie, rolled in like the pitmaster queen, humble as ever and ready to work. Watching her tend the fire is like witnessing a sacred Texas rite. At 8 AM sharp, the door swung open like the gates of meat heaven. We ordered brisket, pork ribs, pork steak, jalapeño sausage, and of course Tootsie’s famous chicken. That chicken wasn’t smoked, it was anointed. Moist, tender, with that black pepper crust that would make a preacher cuss. Brisket: Thick-cut, seasoned beautifully, just a bit dry but still a pleasure to chew. Pork Steak: My first time. Life-changing. I may start a fan club. Jalapeño Sausage: Snappy, I wished it was spicier, but it had enough grease to make your fingers smile. Ribs: Perfectly seasoned, pull-off-the-bone, no teeth needed. Chicken: The real reason I came. The reason I’ll come back. There’s no better bird in the business. My wife requested it by name and I don’t argue with royalty. Sides: Potato salad and coleslaw, classic and well-executed. The banana pudding? As always, a required item in this dad’s BBQ gospel. We ate what we could, packed up the rest for the Side Dish Queen back home, and snagged a photo with Ms. Tootsie before her fan club could form a line. She’s the real deal. The kind of woman who could teach a brisket how to behave just by looking at it. Stamp #29 has been burned into the passport and into my heart. Just 21 more to go, and if I have to sleep on a front porch again, so be it. Snow’s isn’t a restaurant. It’s a rite of passage. Kerry has built a meat cathedral from steel pits and years of love. The staff is down to earth and hospitable beyond measure. The picnic tables set the dining ambiance and the free drinks elevate the experience. I’ll be back. Probably in the same hoodie, probably a little earlier next time. Dad Joke Sign-Off: I told my daughter this was our bonding moment. She told me it was just Stockholm syndrome with brisket.

If you haven't gone to Tootsies, you're missing out. To meet and see the legendary and iconic Tootsie was everything! The pork steak was sold out but they are known for their pork and chicken. The chicken had a crispy skin and juicy and amazing flavor. Brisket is a staple here. Pork ribs were flavorful and juicy. Def need the banana pudding to cut the savory. Worth the drive, what a great experience!

Great first experience at Snows! Got in line around 5:45/6am and was 130th in line. Had our food by 10am and nothing was sold out. Got to get a pic with Tootsie too. Group agreed ribs, chicken, and pork steak top 3 in that order. Sausage and turkey excellent too.

Is this place worth the hype? YES, absolutely! The magic of Snow’s is not just the amazing BBQ, it’s the overall family atmosphere. You are treated like family and that just makes the whole experience beautiful. I recommend arriving early to make sure you get try everything. Some folk arrive as early as 4AM to secure a place in line. If so, bring everything you need to get comfortable (chairs, blankets etc) and be prepared to enjoy the company of other Texas BBQ fans for a few hours.

Today, we visited the renowned Snows BBQ in Lexington, Texas. Arriving around midnight on a Friday, we found ourselves in the midst of a line that stretched to number 14 and 15, a testament to the establishment's popularity. Despite the late hour, the atmosphere buzzed with camaraderie among fellow patrons, as we enjoyed good conversation and beers while eagerly anticipating the 8:00 AM opening. The facilities were well-appointed, and the early morning weather added to the overall pleasant experience. However, it's worth noting the phenomenon of famous establishments like Snows BBQ receiving widespread acclaim after media exposure, such as the Netflix documentary featuring Miss Tootsie. While many flock to this quaint town to meet Miss Tootsie and savor the renowned barbecue, it's essential to recognize the hard work of Clay, the master behind the smoker. Throughout our visit, Clay tirelessly manned the pits for an impressive 30 hours straight, demonstrating his dedication to his craft. Although Miss Tootsie made a brief appearance around 5:30 or 6:00 AM, her involvement seemed minimal, as she focused on stirring the beans and remained engrossed in her phone. This lack of interaction with patrons may disappoint those expecting the charismatic presence portrayed in the media. Even the owner, Kerry, appeared somewhat disengaged, indicating a sense of weariness with the weekly barbecue routine. Nevertheless, the food itself exceeded expectations. The brisket, in particular, stood out as the juiciest and most succulent I've ever tasted in my 41 years. The ribs and sausages were equally impressive, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. While the experience may not match the romanticized portrayal seen on Netflix, Snows BBQ undoubtedly delivers on the promise of exceptional barbecue. For those seeking outstanding food, Snows BBQ remains a must-visit destination, but those expecting a quintessential "Tootsie experience" may be disappointed.

Four of us arrived around 6 am and we were 67th in line. We finished around 10 am. We had brisket (delicious but small and thin) sausage (good texture) jalapeño sausage (some of the best we have ever had) turkey (delicious, but nothing special) and pork steak (good but fatty). The sides were not special. The banana pudding was runny. The venue is nice. Fires for those in line. Fun raffles while you wait. Plenty of parking around the small towns streets.

Get there before it open unless you have all day to fool around because they could run out of meat and sides on your 2 to 4 hour wait. Bring an umbrella for sun and rain because 50% of waiting line no shade. Some fix umbrellas in place every 20'. Some free chairs available but bring your own. Free Adults drinks and pay drinks available. Meats were precooked on smoker prior to 8am then wrapped in aluminum foil to tenderizein heat oven. I believe true Texas style is meats cooked with no foil to keep fatty meats with crispy outside served with free jalapeño beans. You know where I'm talking about in Llano Texas. This meat was more Memphis Tennessee and east coast style. Meats falls off bone. Seasoning Texas style with great taste. Not my favorite place but I love it.

Not the best in Texas but definitely is a top one. I like the crazy atmosphere there. People drive hundred miles and wait in the long line. This is my 2nd time in Lexington and I got brisket and sausage at least. Last time I was the unlucky one…. Everything was sold out …..

The food was quite good but a bit pricey for the what one would expect. That being said, staff was above reproach and willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasurable experience. The atmosphere had an authentic, backwoods BBQ feel. The kind where you take a country road and you come across an open air barn with lean to that has been serving Q since prohibition. IYKYK.

Ordered a whole brisket online! It was almost perfect. Had a smoke ring, was delicate, great fat to meat ratio. I think the only thing missing was that it was a little dry, but it’s frozen so you can’t really expect more. If I had tallow or tried it fresh, I’m sure it would’ve been PERFECT. Shipping time was on point! Packaging was perfect. Came in a box, with a cooler, ice packs, a sticker and instructions. I just can’t wait to go to Texas, drive down and have some fresh brisket from Snows!

We were tardy to the party. Pro-tip - be waiting by 8 am with the other 100 + serious diners. They ran out of chicken by 10:30 AM. By the time we arrived at 12:30, they graciously served us the last chunk of brisket, a pint of mayonnaise based homemade potato salad and sweet tea. They were exhausted and wanted to go home. But never fear - since they’re only open one day a week, they ship brisket all over the USA - any day! There’s a huge demand since they were named number one on Texas Monthly’s The List in 2008. That’s 17 years being in the top 10. Next time, I’ll go get a hotel or wake up by 4 am to leave Houston by 6 AM to make it there by 8 am.

Let me start by saying seeing Tootsie was an honor in itself. She's still active going out there working like it's nothing. Mad respect. Unfortunately the taste was not as good as it looked. The banana pudding was probably the best tasting thing in the list. Everything else felt very salted to the wrong extent. It's great being there for the history and prestige, but unfortunately not close to an elite tier of BBQ.

I was waiting to let the trip settle and digest before putting up any kind of review. About a month later and I still feel absolutely let down. To start off the experience of driving down with a few friends or a big group of people was fantastic. We had a great time hanging out in line and made a to of new bbq friends along the way. That is about where the fun ended for us. The one good meat we had was the Sausages which we saw the imfamous Tootsie taking the time and care with that item. Beyond that every other piece of meat was extremely lack luster. The ribs were overly salted. The brisket was so hacked up by the auto cutter the EXTREMELY rude woman behind the counter handling all the meats that you would of thought I asked for shredded brisket and NOT 4 lbs of moist brisket. They had some of the worst potato salad I think I have had at a BBQ joint and only slaw besides as side. NO beans, NO mac, NO nothing. I saw another reviewer stating a lot of the same opinions who had been previously and likened it to possibly the commercialization and media driven attitude that some of the employees seem to have taken on but as the first six of a group of about 100 bbq fanatics no one else from our group will come back due to the lack luster food and compete disdain by a few key employees but especially the lady who handled one of the more important posts of cutting and serving the customers. As a group of six we spent about 1000 bucks as we had planned on bringing food back to our families so you would of thought some care would of been taken with our food and treated a bit better than HACKING the brisket apart. I hope other people are treated with a little better attitudes and that your brisket is not hacked up and other meats torn to shreds like ours. As again. The sausage was to die for but everything else can be left on the side of the road. Edit: i forgot to add the pork steak had great flavor but was very dry to the point sauce was a must.
