We celebrated my sister’s baby shower here this weekend and I can’t thank the team and Doddington Tea Room enough. They set up a lovely space where I could decorate the tables how I wanted. The team were so accommodating and looked after us all really well. The afternoon tea was delicious and everyone had a really lovely time. Thank you so much.
Went for the Xmas Afternoon Tea today and we as deaf persons were very impressive with the outstanding service from most of waitresses who signed for 'thank you' to us and very friendly I have ever seen. Food was magnificent, good choice of food and of course cakes! Nice atmosphere with Xmas decorations and trees. Will definitely be back, maybe for a Easter period........it is a MUST for you to visit! Well done to everyone who works at that Tea Rooms 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Visited this afternoon, Saturday 21st August 2021, and can honestly say, that it was the best afternoon cream tea I have ever had. The booking online was simple; updates by email and text, confirming our attendance very efficient. The young lady who welcomed us and waited on us was quite delightful. The tea room is large and airy, the seats we had very very comfortable and roomy. The food? Oh my goodness. We had the sweet tea, 3 tiers of plates with sandwiches, sweets and the definitive scones with cream and raspberry jam. The drinks were superb, and the choice of teas almost unlimited. In summary, very very good, highly highly recommended and absolutely superb value for money (oh, you can ask for a bag to carry out what you can’t eat)
Excellent vegan afternoon tea. Had a quiet booth in great surroundings. Staff were lovely. Only issue was the presence of wasps outside in the courtyard, and one pesky jasper found its way into the tearoom....staff were really apologetic but it's a tricky issue to resolve at this time of year so we understood. Doesn't detract from it being a lovely afternoon tea experience. Portions great - doggy bags supplied!
The afternoon tea at Doddington Hall is amazing. Beautifully presented food, friendly and attentive waitresses and in bright airy surroundings. Options for a traditional or savoury menu. I can honestly say it's the best afternoon tea I've ever had. Will definitely return
Had a wonderful tea/coffee with such tasty cakes.
Beautiful afternoon tea and beautiful surroundings. Service was great, lots of tea and coffee top ups and the tea Room had been adapted to conform to the two metre social distancing. Faultless. We had a very enjoyable afternoon.
Amazing food at the restaurant, great service
Amy and her team are fantastic. Amazing locally sourced food that always tastes amazing. And thank you for thinking of us on our anniversary. You made us feel very special with the glass of prosecco to celebrate.
Attentive service & very tasty food for our "afternoon tea" date.
Lovely place, good, wholesome food & good value for money. Lovely shop to browse in as well as deli, fresh fruit and veg & an excellent butchery area.
Decent food. Good offerings with vegan and GF too. Staff are all very helpful and friendly
Always a good breakfast. Can be quite a long wait at weekends.
Lovely venue if a bit quirky to gain entry. Great staff service and food is always seasonal. Very popular even though it's a little out of the ordinary
We went in the tea rooms for an off the cuff lunch. Had burger of the day.. bloody delicious, chips were proper chunky ones with a nice slaw too.
Just had festive afternoon tea with friends. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional.
All the food served in the cafe and restaurant, which is of a very high standard and full of flavour, can be purchased in the store. Cafe staff are all pleasant, helpful and smiling which is a pleasure to find these days.Well worth a visit.
Amazing experience! Had some amazing cake and coffee! We then went to have a look around the estate and the shops before we sat again for lunch. I could easily spend all day here I absolutely loved it! Free parking too!
Have stopped for coffee and cake. Clean, friendly staff. Gets busy at peak times. Food good. Toys and books available for kids. Nicely decorated and very light due to windows along the side.
Largest Victoria Sponge I have ever seen, and it was wonderful! Lovely staff, pleasant surroundings, food fab, (large portions) More importantly, a perfect cup of tea!
Afternoon tea is exceptional. Service is prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was only let down by kids keep opening the door but not the venues fault. Thoroughly enjoyable .
I Love coming to Doddington tea room for their breakfasts, especially after a night shift. I meet family regularly here. Everything is locally sourced and seems to disappear to quick and I've forgotten to take a photo yet again. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Wonderful afternoon tea in a beautiful location and all the staff were friendly and cheerful ! I have a dairy allergy which causes a bit of anxiety when eating out but I cannot fault the service and food provided by Doddington Hall. Plentiful afternoon tea (had to box some up to bring home) but had a lovely walk around the gardens after !
Very nice cafe with plenty of options - I was positively surprised about the number of gluten free cakes :) we had a nice soup and coffee and a cake. Very nice and polite staff. I will come again
The staff are so helpful and friendly... an individual behind us moaned constantly about everything (unnecessarily I felt as I had some of the same dishes and thought the food was beautiful), the team handled it with utmost politeness and professionalism. Great food and great service.
The food is always amazing. And the Deli/ farmshop is full of lovely things. The sausage rolls and scotch eggs with their variety of flavours are worth trying. And the meat packs and meat from the butchers are good value for money.
Beautiful tea room with lovely food staff very friendly and willing to help. Enjoyable experience! Recommended
Always a pleasure! Cafe is busy but worth it as food and drinks are excellent and great value for money. Farm shop is well stocked and reasonably priced for the quality and market it’s aimed at. The local shops within like India Jane and Doddington Hall clothing are usually well stocked and fairly priced for the brands they supply and often bargains are to be had in their sales! If you’re into cycling, the Giant bike store is worth a visit!
Went with my mother-in-law for tea and cake from 11am. The atmosphere was lovely, we chose to sit in a booth in the second restaurant area. I enjoyed a biscoff sponge cake while my MIL had the classic Victoria sponge. We spent 4 hours there since time got away from us. Highly recommend.
Arrived just after 12, queued for a table then had 2 equally tasty, high quality meals served by knowledgeable, friendly, hardworking and helpful staff. If that wasn't enough followed it up with 2 desserts that were equally good. All in all an excellent visit.
We went especially for the cafe as we have had some lovely meals there in the past and this visit didn't disappoint. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was swift and the staff were friendly. The farm shop has been substantially extended since our last visit and stocks a good range of out of the ordinary food and drinks.
I recently visited Doddington Tea Room for afternoon tea, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the charming ambiance and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. The presentation of the afternoon tea was stunning, with a wonderful selection of fresh sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of delicious cakes and pastries that were beautifully arranged. Each item was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality was evident in every bite. The scones were warm and crumbly, while the cakes were moist and full of flavor – a real treat for the taste buds. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. I would highly recommend Doddington Tea Room to anyone looking for a relaxing afternoon with top-notch food and excellent service. It’s the perfect spot for a special occasion or just to treat yourself.
Lovely lunch sitting in the sunshine at Doddington Hall. Good range of menu. Farm shop has been extended since I last visited . . . . beautiful!
Lovely place to visit - they were open for afternoon tea but friend and I didn't find it easy to make it into the tearoom - felt signage was quite poor - but the frangipan tart was delicious and staff all friendly.
Walking through the farm shop and cafe, we were welcomed and shown to our booth, which was very cosy. The decor is a fusion of modern quirky touches with traditional (a few nods to the country style of the place, with the wicker pigs/boar and reproduction stag antlers), and there's plenty of Farrow and Ball grey around too! Overall the food was good to excellent, with some areas shining more than others. The starters were impressive and I especially liked the local twist on Indian cuisine, which was vegetarian and combined some great textures and flavours, with everything being very fresh and locally grown (I think!). It was also quite good value for money - if anything it was a little surprising it wasn't more expensive (as other similar places are) but I'm pleased (and secretly hoping they don't whack the prices up now!) Besides the restaurant, there's a lot to see there, which we only touched on, so will definitely be back again soon I'm sure!
Food was satisfactory, staff were friendly and polite. What really makes this place is the location. Menu isn't huge but they do cater to children and there is a dog friendly outdoor area that is a sun trap in the summer. A little pricey ££
Very attentive and friendly staff. Whilst busy on our visit we did not have to wait long for a table. Nice coffees and cakes.
Doddington Hall is a lovely place to visit for a couple of hours. The food in the cafe is top notch and the well stocked store is equally as good. Expect to part with plenty of money though, as the prices are even higher than the standards!
Nice place, friendly staff but the cafe selection wasn't great today and the lemon drizzle cake was very hard. Re visited today, nice selection to eat, pleasant staff, would recommend
Went for lunch. Very nice, not the cheapest, but great for a treat. The food hall had lots of nice food from Pasta to cake. There is a butchers on site too. If your in the area worth a visit!!
Beautiful afternoon tea today thank you. My only comment would be regarding the children's afternoon tea maybe loose the strawberry milkshake and put a strawberry macaroon instead. The milkshake and juice was in our opinion a little too much and maybe either a macaroon or small scone instead. Other than that comment thank 😊
Good food, good service but bad set up of the queuing system. The door constantly opening bringing in people and cold air, for then said people to stand staring at you, whilst queuing, willing you to vacate the table
The social distancing and track and trace measures are in place and effective! However what made my visit a disappointment is the fact the board said the quiche of the day was red onion chutney and cheddar. However when it arrived it was goats cheese and an assortment of veg. I don't like goats cheese and wasn't informed the quiche wouldn't be the one I had ordered. This was extremely disappointing
Overpriced, average food & drink, farm shop cafe. The phrase "I saw you coming" fits perfectly for this place.
We went for afternoon tea and was really disappointed as we went last year and it was excellent. This time there was no sausage roll and the scones were hard, definitely not fresh. The pastry and cakes were nice but not much sandwich wise. So overall not a great experience 😕
wonderful venue, excellent staff ,very disappointing christmas meal not traditional at all, not enough vegetables, turkey was tough had to ask for cranberry sauce, pudding was'nt much better, no mince pies this year. great shame food seems to have gone downhill. went to a pub in yorkshire the day after for a group meal fantastic value, nicely sliced turkey with loads of veg served separately proper christmas pud including drink as much coffee £19
Long wait to get a table, then even longer wait to order. They took orders from 2 chaps who came in after us, they then took an order from someone who came in a good 15 minutes after us. Still ignoring us. By this time we had had enough and left and still, noticing us get up still didn’t even ask if there was a problem. Not as good as the old “cycle” cafe that was there. Won’t be returning in a hurry!
Hi was disappointed. I called on the 28th Nov and left a message regards booking for the restaurant on Sunday 1st Dec at 13:00 for 4 people. It said if a problem then someone would get back to me. I also called again on the 29th (10:48) to confirm my booking; however again went stright to answer machine so repeated same message. Since id had no comeback my guests and i travelled to Doddington Hall ( over 60 miles each way) to be told that no one had entered it into the book and the restaurant was full. The lady i spoke to said there was nothing she could do. For an establishment that portrays excellence on it website i found this to be extremely poor service. Regards Barrie
Dry, tasteless sandwiches, even drier scones. Very disappointed especially as this was my Christmas treat to my sister. The food was definitely not freshly made. A second lot if sandwiches were bought out after I complained, but they were no better. Staff were very apologetic and did not charge me anything. Maybe we were just unlucky today.
You can find the same stuff sold in tiny cafes hundred miles away sold for less. The same authenticity as a __________.
