Ate here the other day with my mom and friend and we absolutely loved it! I got the coconut shrimp and elotes and they were both great. Our waiter was also very kind and attentive. The atmosphere is super fun and the restaurant is decorated super cute. We need more places like this!! I hope to eat here again soon when the weather is better and we can sit outside, they have a great patio with a nice view. Definitely recommend!
UPDATE! Visit Thurs., June 2024 dinner. They have really cleaned up the atmosphere by getting rid of the broken toys/boats. It feels cleaner and fresher with less. We still enjoyed the drinks and food. The stuffed avocado was cooked differently, but so delicious. The fish tacos were huge!!!! My husband couldn't even eat them all. The wait was long, and they forgot my drink. But my server Dominick was excellent!!! It has been a long time since I've been waited on by somebody who takes pride in what they are doing. OG REVIEW: Fun, funky atmosphere. Good drinks, really good food too! I always get the chicken stuffed avocado! Love it. We also had the fish sandwich, but it's odd that they have no tartar sauce. It didn't have ANY sauce on it. Don't recommend unless you request something to put on it. We like the little cars outside for the kids and you can walk the pier/dock and that's nice to kill time while you wait for a table.
Great food. Fun atmosphere. We had a group of 12 and the waitresses kept up with us. We met our family up there another time and the kids loved feeding the ducks (they sell special food for the ducks). It gave the kids something to do while waiting on the food. We love eating outside on the patio. Great place. Lots of fun things for the kids to sit on out front too but they change it up from time to time so not always the same stuff. This time there was a boat and my grandson loved it.
This is a great local restaurant that has recently (within the last year) come under new ownership. The Polynesian elements have been downplayed (no more pineapple in the salads), but the menu is great and varied, leaning towards a Cali-Mex themed approach. They’ve begun more vegetarian options, too, which is great. Good food (good-sized portions, too) fun bar, and great kitschy vibe - one of my favorite places.
This place I visited with my friends and we were delighted with the food and service. There is a big variety of different dishes, everyone could find what he wants. I would definitely recommend the red snapper tacos - light choice, but still wouldn't let you hungry. The portions is big, more than any adult needs by my humble opinion. The server was friendly and welcoming. The service was fast, no complaints at all.
I’ve driven past this place soooo many times wondering what went on inside. While searching online for “friendly kid places for dinner” it popped up. Perfect spot for me to take my grandbaby, so we could hang out awhile. Cool venue with lotsa lights and beach theme decor. Pretty busy inside, but manager stopped to chat mentioning renovations upcoming. Food was delivered quickly; so it was hot and flavorful. Service was friendly and accommodating. Decent pricepoint, too. Casual, relaxed setting.
I've always wanted to come to this place and I'm glad I did. My server was Jasmin and she was amazing. Even though it was busy and she was slammed with customers she still was very attentive and made time to acknowledge my friend and I. We ordered several drinks which we thought were lot strong at the time but they definitely snuck up on us. The food was good and the portions were huge, and a plus is that the restaurant is located on a small lake so the views at night were gorgeous. Check out my TikTok for more reviews taneeshanthecity
Great Menu choices of food, with a variety of awesome tasty drinks to help you unwind. Really fun atmosphere indoor/outdoor for group gatherings, and a nice area on the back deck for pictures. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. This was my first time, (as I am not from the area), but I definitely recommend! I know I will be back for sure!
Awesome place, lots of visual entertainment. They have a man made lake in the back with a large shark coming out of the water, a volcano that spews steam. The ducks swim around waiting for you to feed them while you eating on the extended patio outside. The patio is covered and has huge windows to let in the breeze. The food was amazing as well. They have one of the best chili rellenos I have ever had. They are small but seem to be deep fried, so the breading is actually crunchy! My husband had the open face ahi tuna tacos, another amazing dish! The kids will LOVE this place, it’s made to entertain them. This particular location is also right next to a wake board facility. You get to watch the people play in the water and ride the jumps. It adds to the Cali feel.
Amazing place! My wife and I going all the time for the great food and atmosphere. We just celebrate my wife birthday in the Palapa area!! It was perfect!!! The staff was very friendly and professional !!! They even let us put our own music, sing, and stay overtime! Perfect Hawaiian style celebration!! For sure we will comeback for more celebrations!! Thanks to Brody, Jessica and Luis for all the good work and effort!! You make our party unique and special!!!
The Red Snapper grilled fish tacos were very good. I would recommend. I also ordered the cup of Jambalaya which was mostly white rice, soup with two shrimp, two sausages, and shredded chicken. I would not I order again. Very blan. My wife ordered the Huli Huli Chicken Hawaiian which was large platter of white rice two small reheated grilled chicken breasts, cheese, Mango salsa, room temperature plantains. The entire plate was not made fresh. The black beans were also room temperature and had a bad taste. I also tried the beans and they were horrible. Waiter said they keep warm water on grill and stir water in beans pot before serving. She would not recommend.
Found this place on the Dallas Love List 🔥 They always highlight unique spots to dine. We were definitely very fond of this place. What did it for us was the outdoor seating atmosphere and happy hour cocktails. The food was good but nothing special or standoutish. Flour tortillas tasted fresh and homemade. Sadly the fajitas for two only came out with a single portion of beans and rice. If you live in Dallas, it's quite a far drive but if you enjoy drinking to a beautiful scenic lake view, then it's worth it. It's a solid date night or group night. But go during happy hour. Not worth it imo if you go outside of that time. There are plenty of other choices.
This place is located lakeside with nice theme and a very good ambience. It has a bar, indoor and outdoor dine in space. With a very big hall and seating for events. Has a decent menu. Kawakini stuffed avocado is good. Drinks are too light and queso is average. Toll house pie is excellent. Overall would recommend to try this place.
We got one of the platters that feed four and two fried shrimp baskets for the kids. Both were delicious. The kids tore their baskets up! Afterwards we walked outside and took some pics. Only reason we gave 4 stars is because it did take awhile for the waitress to come take our order and we had to remind her three time to bring my Dr Pepper. Other than that we will be back again. We will be back when the weather gets cooler so we can sit outside and view the volcano.
Food was good service was bad. Prices were higher than previous visit . Normally I stayed at bar and service improved there.

This place is pretty nice, Beach/ocean themed. The food was really good but the Steak was pretty tough. The Queso here is fantastic and decently spicy, the salsa is a fresh salsa and is equally good. The servers here are very nice and prompt. The view on the pier/deck is pretty cool the way they built a Cove to mimic being @ the ocean with the water blue and everything. The bathrooms here are kind of wonky the way they are set up and very cramped. All in all i would come back but it does need a few changes/upgrades.
Definition of 3 stars. Food was average but environment and outside deck was fun. It was very much American-ized Mexican food... Beers seemed expensive as well.

Went with a large group during the mid-afternoon slow time. The chicken tacos 🌮 tasted like they had frozen, already cooked chicken that had been reheated in the microwave. The Big Enchilada (which was a burrito 🌯) had shredded chicken and was pretty good. Cilantro lime rice was ok. Burger 🍔 was ok as well.
Don't arrive starving! PROs: Good food, great location and ambience is nice being next to the water and witnessing baby turtles swim around. Christian, our server, turned our experience around with his friendliness and prompt attention. CONs: Very short staffed. It didn't appear a manager was on duty unless mgr was the chef/wait staff. Cleaniness was extremely lacking whether inside or outside; sticky residue on outside tables and inside the floors had food debris with some areas appeared wet. A few bussed tables had payment binders still left out on the tables. Chips and spicy salsa served, not ideal for sensitive taste buds. I inquired if a particular plate was spicy, assured it was not. Unfortunately it was! Lack of organization; drinks served with no straws and then meals served without utensils; servers had to return with those necessities. Our seats were next to the storage area and looking at the disarray made it uninviting. This establishment lacked cohesive teamwork/management. We visited on a weekday evening for an early dinner. Under $50 (with tip) we ordered Hawaiian dinner served with spicy salsa (same kind with appetizer), Montego tacos & Beef Tube burrito and 1 soda.
I give it two stars for location atmosphere. Being right on the lake this place could be a GEM ! But alas - it is not ! The bartender brought me chips and salsa - the salsa was watery finely diced tomatoes and onions. It was free - no big deal. I chose the GRILLED FRESH SALMON ! It was anything but FRESH ! RUBBERY. The rice it sat on was old, dry, and flavorless 😣. I got fries as one of my choices and when I asked for a bottle of ketchup she brought me packets 😡I DON’T DO PACKETS ! One of the other choices was Caesar salad which I think should come out before the meal but it came with the meal and it was a dinner salad ! This place needs a new MANAGER cause like I said this place COULD be great - BUT - it’s NOT ! ! !

They are closed for a reason. Hope the are able to find new owners as they didn't seem to want to cater to what the people wanted.
