Food was phenomenal, service was great, Atmosphere was just perfect. To celebrate my Birthday!
The 1883 Burger is simply amazing, perfectly cooked with a blend of flavors that left me craving more. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a bottle of Riva Ranch Chardonnay, which was priced at an incredible $22. The scenery at Wente Grill is unparalleled, offering the best views in the valley. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is a must-visit for a delightful dining experience. ---
Know that the Grill is part of the golf course club house, not the winery tasting room. Spectacular views from the patio, excellent breakfast, and surprisingly low prices. Menu is limited. Breakfast plate, burrito, breakfast sandwich or pancakes, but food quality and preparation will not disappoint. Service with a smile. I made a reservation through OpenTable which might not have been necessary on a typical Saturday morning.
At this restaurant, people under 21 can come in and eat as opposed to the other Wente establishments. The Wente wines are so delicious and we ate some really great soft tacos. The staff was really nice and helpful. I recommend this place.
The specialty of the house is their signature pork chops. It’s a bit rich, but very delicious. The surroundings are beautiful. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had good service. It’s a great place to go for a special occasion. It’s best to make reservations through open table.
Food and Atmosphere is excellent so rated 5 stars. Service has 4 stars in missing the speed of the food ordering and service (little slower).
Gorgeous location, comfortable seats, outside dining, delish food. Highly recommend any seasonal offering, and the fried chicken sandwich. Our favorite weekend lunch spot, and tonight it has been a perfect dinner locale.
The Grill at Wente Vineyards has a beautiful view next to a 9 hole golf course especially if you request a seat on the outdoor patio. Their service is almost always great and the food is also good except for the Philly Cheesesteak. Their smash burgers (meat or veggie), their salads, and their sandwiches are very good. For wine, try their Riva Ranch or nth Degree Chardonnay or Aly's Pinot Noir for red wine lovers. Overall, it's a great way to spend your weekend morning or afternoon 😀 P.S. Do note that they aren't open for dinner.
Very good food,Service and drinks were amazing.
Very nice setting, lunch on the patio in the sunshine was a nice escape from the fog.
I really enjoyed the experience here for lunch. It has a beautiful scenery to eat outdoors and see golf, vineyards, water, etc. the service was good. They didn’t have the alcohol for the drink I wanted but I optioned for a glass of wine which was also tasty. I highly recommend.
A small grill, but has lots of outdoor seatings, overlooking the 18th hole and fantastic views of the vineyard and the golf course. This is a great place to get a quick bite before or after a round. Or, better yet, grab a glass of wine and enjoy the views at the patio. The food was pretty good, fresh ingredients. Service staff was very attaintive and friendly!
Very nice lunch sitting outside at The Grill. Monica was our server, friendly attentive, right tone for low key lunch. *Someone commented there aren't prices on the menu. There are, even the drink menu, which I appreciate. The main (larger) Wente restaurant wasn't open for lunch, but glad we went to The Grill. P.S. the food and drinks were very good!
Played there today for the first time, played at 1pm so it got windy on some holes, a lot of elevated tee boxes up and down. Great views. Tight course. Food was good. Drinks were a little pricey.
As a golfer, this cafe has decent food and offer front row view of other golfers playing tough 18th hole.
The burgers are great, but decided to go for the pork sandwich today. Yum!!! Wait staff were great during a frost delay. Cudos to them.

Very nice place with beautiful views of the vineyards and golf course. We sat outside. Service was quick, courteous and efficient. The food was fine but pricey, although not out of line with similar places in the Bay Area.
Great place to decompress after a round of golf on a hot summer day. Great staff; friendly and kind. Great food; had the Fish n Chips. It was a good Sunday.

My wife and I went here for Brunch for her Birthday. The place is nice for an outdoor dining. The food we ordered were good. My wife ordered the burger which she liked and I ordered the steak sandwich which was good too. It is a good place to just have a relaxing meal and have a god conversation. I have not played golf for a long time and now think of going back after watching some golfers play 🙂. However, golfers and non-golfers can certainly enjoy a meal there. I also recommend Wine Tasting at Wente.
We went for breakfast. The menu was limited. I had the egg sandwich on sourdough and it was quite good. My husband enjoyed his burrito as well. Our guests had pancakes with sides. The coffee was decent. It was too chilly to eat outside, but would have a been nicer atmosphere.
At first I thought we'd made reservations at the restaurant, because the last time we were there the whole experience was incredible (service, food, company). When we got to the grill, I have to be honest I didn't get a great feeling initially. Nobody greeted us right away, and I felt a bit let down. But then we sat down and decided to give it a shot. The menu was very limited, so I got the crab cakes and my wife and daughter got burgers. We ordered a bottle of the Wente bubbly too. The sparkling wine was really good and went perfectly with our food!! Not to be out done, we had to go Nth Degree Pinot Noir (Wente). Wow, what a wine!! Our server was AWESOME too!! I feel bad forgetting her name, but she was so nice, and fun to tease a little 🧸 She said she was part Russian and Indian .. very pretty, and a really good sport 😊😊 I would recommend the Grill, especially after a round of golf or a few hours at the SF Premium Outlets a few minutes away.
Can’t call it 5* for food, just can’t, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it, even if it were only 1* for food.
Always enjoy taking our ebikes on a ride to have lunch here. The food was great, service, not so much. Couldn't figure out how to cut a burger in half. Told us sorry they forgot but didn't offer to fix it. Barely serviced the table... and had to go find someone to give us the bill.
I was pleasantly surprised by our experience here. The view was great and we were lucky it was sunny and breezy for our company lunch event. We were outside in the back. I was apprehensive of the food choices because yelp reviews were mixed about the food. The fried chicken sandwich, glass of Riesling and key lime pie for lunch tasted good. Service could have been better/ faster, but as it was such a nice day out and weren't in any rush it was just something we shrugged off. Overall a good time.
Worth the drive. Good eats breakfast sandwiches before the round. 23.00 burger combo closed the day out..layer up as it gets windy and a bit cold...

Very nice area for relaxing and enjoying a good conversation. Food was not great. Bad for even bar food.
The food was great but the waitress never cam for refills of water and when asked for anything she gave dirty looks at us. The waitress doesn't tell you when you order food until you receive the bill that they don't accept cash only credit cards. The manager was nice about it and only said they would only accept cash this time. It should be posted or the customer should be told before ordering.
Oh the grill, great view and killer ambiance. Service is okay at best. I get the impression this is the Wente b or c squad. They must save the best for the main restaurant. More times than not it's challenging to get a refill of water. They provide repurposed wine bottles as glasses so they're tiny. Menu definitely needs an uplift, change is good!
Food ideally for pick up and go if golfing

The place is gorgeous. It’s great to sit out use and enjoy the view. Servers are nice but they are overworked and short staffed so expect to be forgotten. Food choices are very limited. If you are vegetarian or vegan as we had few in the party, there is only 1 choice. Lastly the menu they have on the website isn’t what’s available for the patrons. That’s the least they can do to fix. Website mentioned paneer skewers and the server feigned complete ignorance of the item.
The server customer service needs huge improvement. I understand that menu is more of protein but other people needs veggies too. When I asked couple of alternatives-, straight no. Try saying can I check or let me see what I can do. Im sure training on customer service can be improved. Location wise, golf course looks wonderful. EV charging will be beneficial for sure.
Food was good, service was good, yellow jackets made eating almost impossible. 8 of us swatting and waving them away did no good. Waittres brought out spinners , that didn't help. Won't go back until they fix that problem.
They didn’t have fruit, didn’t have straws until the end… clearly they ran out and had to run across property to get them, took our drink order first and they came after our food had been on table and half eaten. My wedge salad had so much dressing it was like soup and I couldn’t eat it. The potato chips with the kids meals were awesome. The view was great and good for kids for sure.

The Grille at Wente used to be my favorite special lunch place. I took my friend who is from out of town. We were both so disappointed. She had the fried chicken sandwich which at best was just plain ordinary. I had the Chipotle onion burger. Could not find the Chipotle onions, and my burger had so much gristle. The French fries were good. I don't know what happened to the food but was not worth the price or drive.
This is just the restaurant attached to the golf shop so seems more like a place to refuel on a golfing day, not a fancy lunch spot. The fall salad was quite tasty. It had good dressing and fresh greens and I liked the sunflower and pomegranate seeds. The bean burger was decent, but I used the mustard bottle on the table and only water came out. At least I hope it was water. There was literally no mustard in it even after I squeezed and shook it a bunch, but it was in the carrier next to the ketchup. I should have asked for my burger to be remade, but I felt bad so I ate it. But now I am really wondering what was the clear liquid I put onto my burger. Considering they didn’t wipe the table after the previous diners left (there was food and sticky drink rings on the table), I’m afraid it was something unsanitary. They also didn’t have the Eric’s Chardonnay (which was the featured wine) and didn’t get my rosé order :( they were very busy at noon so maybe that was the issue.
Looking at the website and online menu I figured this would be a higher end brunch with wine tasting. Boy was I wrong it was more like a Cafe for the golfers to get a cup off coffee. The breakfast menu was very basic the service was ok and the food was decent but $ 16.00 for 2 eggs hash browns bacon and toast with no butter. I thought was way expensive. And a memosa was $15.00 each are you kidding me ? We definitely won't be going back.
nice view of grape vines and golf course. just be careful with golf balls coming to you. if you sit outdoor then know the flies or wasps will be all over your food. need patience to wait for your drinks and food. Depending on which waitress you get, the service will be good or not. One waitress does not know the “no butter on bread” order and has attitude and doesn’t replace it
The burgers were good, but ridiculously overpriced at $23, and served with lukewarm fries. The packaged onion dip served with Lays potato chips was uninspiring and at $12, also overpriced. We wanted to dine at the restaurant, but I guess they did away with that some time ago.
Very basic place like a local cafe place, food is very basic. Wine was good we had Wente Cabernet ($35 bottle). Waiter modified the tip, beware! take a signed receipt copy and check your cc to make sure they have not overcharged. We were given only one receipt to sign and trusting them, we didn't ask for second copy.
Went by there today for lunch with my husband. We rode out bikes 4 miles but didn't have a reservation. Didn't think it would be a problem bc my dad is a member so we asked if they could fit us in, they were Adamant they had no openings even tho there were about a dozen open tables. They didn't even try to accommodate us. So we asked if we could just get the food Togo bc we had just rode 4 miles and were staying and they flat out denied us. We felt so snubbed like we were trash. Never have I ever had a restaurant treat me like that. My husband and I are well kept, in our mid 30's. They were So rude.
My friend and I had lunch, both of us ordered the wente California club Unfortunately what we ordered we didn't receive Order wente California club Should have grilled chicken breast, apple wood bacon tomato, avocado spread, aged sharp cheddar on brioche What we received was three chicken slices, Apple wood bacon, tomato, avocado, mayo on white toasted bread.I don't eat mayo or white bread that wasn't in discription was not worth 18.00, If you didn't have the product to produce what we ordered should have asked if we wanted something else I won't even mention the pitiful salads I sent 2 emails 9/5 2024 & 10/12/2024 to [email protected] with no response To top it off they had a yellow jacket problem so we couldn't sit on patio I'm tempted to tell the the winery that recommended you of our experience
Yesterday we dined with a large party at The Grill following a wine tasting. We spent a significant amount of money at both the winery and the restaurant, which made this experience even more disappointing. As our food was being served, the waiter placed a plate in front of one of our guests and knocked over a full glass of ice-cold water directly onto my sister. Her dress was completely soaked through to her undergarments and into her shoes before she had even begun her meal. What made the situation worse was the lack of professionalism and compassion from the server. His response was not an apology, but instead, “At least she’s wearing black.” While a female staff member did bring extra napkins, the damage had already been done—her outfit and experience were completely ruined. I told the wait staff that my sister should not be charged for her meal given the incident, and the response was, “That’s probably right.” However, when the bill arrived, there was no adjustment to her meal. When I asked about it, I was told the manager had discounted a bottle of champagne. That bottle, however, was purchased by a different guest, not by my sister—the person who was actually affected. This situation was handled poorly from start to finish. At a minimum, the server should have offered a sincere apology, and management should have ensured the affected guest was properly compensated. The waiter involved needs retraining on both proper service and how to respond respectfully when mistakes happen. Very disappointed in this experience, especially given the level of establishment this winery and restaurant claim to uphold.

I was really looking forward to dining here with friends, but unfortunately, we were turned away at the door—even though there were clearly several tables available outside. We were told they were "fully booked for the next two hours" due to a priority for golfers, which was understandable. However, I noticed an online reservation was available for a table in just 20 minutes—so the explanation didn’t quite add up. The host was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to accommodate us or offer any alternative. It felt like we were brushed off without a second thought. It's a shame because the setting looked great, but the poor customer service left a bad taste.
The most disappointing winery and grill. We were a large group celebrating a bachelorette and ordered appetizers, mains and drinks. The service was rushed and poor. They messed up several dishes but failed to apologise. They picked out an ingredient from our dish and returned it when we complained about an allergen which was mentioned during ordering. The free sides with mains were upcharged. Thoughtless menu and waste of time. Being a winery - we were not offered any guidance on wine pairing. There were no cheese in the menu, mains were a joke entirely made of cold sandwiches and takeout burgers. I would not recommend.
Extremely rude and unacceptable customer service! After being seated, we had to wait long time for even the glasses of water, that too arrived after multiple times asking for it. Our server was extremely rude in her facial gesture and attitude! She placed our wine glass with such thud and impact, the wine almost spilled. While eating appetizers, we asked for some condiments; our server literally stopped us in the middle, and rudely said "one person at a time speak ". So very rude of her! One of our friends accidentally dropped the fork and hence asked for a replacement; it never arrived at our desk ! At the end, our server brought the bill for food, and literally threw the pen at us ! we were stunned to see her attitude! We have been to so many bay area restaurants, but never received such rude behavior, it was simply unacceptable ! We felt insulted.
