Food selection was really good. It’s not all you can eat fyi. We got the chef course. The ambience was very intimate not a lot of ppl. The food cooks slow so i would recommend this for business meeting or dates. I came with a family of 4. Overall experience 8/10 thank you again.

I had the best birthday dinner experience at Hikari with my boyfriend. We ordered the $60 omakase set with extra meat and an appetizer. Everything was delicious, and the waiters were amazing! They were so attentive and sweet. It was truly one of the best experiences I've had in Southern California. This place offers authentic Japanese cuisine with great vibes, pricing, and food. I highly recommend it – 12/10!

LOVED the food here and the service was great. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The charcoal grill is one of the things that makes this place so special. The charcoal adds a great flavor to the food. We doubled down on the marinated steak and miso chicken. This was the perfect date night spot.

Fixed menu. The meats are more marinated than expected, very delicious. Table next to us was cooking everything at once and the whole place got smoky. Don't do that! Enjoy each piece one by one. Loved that there was a mixed rice bowl with cheese. Perfect amount of food and drinks. Charcoal is the way to go.

Fantastic dining experience! We took the whole family, and everyone enjoyed grilling their own food. It does get a bit smokey depending on what is on the grill, but the food tastes fantastic. Some of the dishes blend southern California flavors (avocado, jalapeno, etc) work Japanese, and there results are outstanding. The servers were friendly and attentive as well. We really enjoyed this restaurant.

This is the best Japanese BBQ I’ve been to!! The quality of meat is perfect, and you can choose your own way to grill the meat. The meat is spot on, thick, chunky in portion, and timed right on the dot. Must ordered: **Prime Thick cut beef tongue **Tongue Kalbi ** Hanging tender ** Boneless short rib ** Outside skirt steak ** Hikari House salad: a great companion for BBQ meat. Tried some new dishes: **Burrata Cheese w/Sauteed beef: very innovative dish! The combination of Burrata cheese and basil sauce worked concordantly. ** Deep Fried Chicken wing

Meat quality is really good especially the marinated beef ribs and Wagyu meat. It was fun grilling them on the special grill with charcoal in front and the service is really good, very consistent and attentive. I would go again!!

Food amazing my son took me here for mother's day. Smokey no problem just wash your clothes the smokiness doesn't stay on your clothes. I ordered salad to start with...looks great and tasted heavenly.

This place is amazing, price is a little high, but the quality of the meat is off the charts. Don't miss anything having to do with the hanging tender cut, out of this world. Also, of all the odd things, the French toast for dessert is honestly the best French toast I have ever eaten, hands down.

Outstanding. I usually don't write a review and seldom a 5 star. This place is the combination of great cut of meat, awesome service, good style with charcoal grills and a cozy atmosphere.The only negative is too much smoke but not enough to cost them any star in my review.

Would not recommend for a group larger than 4. The food is pretty delicious, but small portions. Everyone should order a least 2 items to get a decent amount of food. Highly recommend the spring rolls and French Toast dessert. They handled our group of 7 well, fast friendly service, we just didn't order enough food and was hard to communicate with how we needed to be spaced due to the mini grill.

So happy we found this restaurant while visiting California! From the outside, it is a bit deceiving. A little run down. But the inside is very nice and I love the setup of the tables. The spring rolls were by far my favorite and we had so much fun cooking our own meat! I just wish the restaurant had better ventilation. By the time we left, we smelt like smoke and my eyes were hurting. The staff was very very friendly and helpful!!

One of my favorite Japanese style BBQ places in Torrance. They offer lot of different cuts of beef and the best part is each cut normally pairs with different dipping sauce or toppings. They also constantly have different special items to change things up. Everything we've had so far has been well prepared and meat quality is always good. The service is friendly as well.

The food here is really great. Everything from the appetizers to the meats are amazing. The price for a group of 7 for dinner worked out to about $35 per person. Great value. However, the big problem here is the ventalization. The exhaust fans are just not strong enough. The smoke with all the great cuts of fatty meats are too overwhelming for this small space. While the food is good, the experience with the smoke was too much. Likely not work it. If you want to go and try the food fine. But I will not be back until they figure out the smoke situation.
