Opinions de Aubaine Marylebone London
A restaurant one has visited multiple times for breakfast and they continue to deliver. The French toast is a personal favourite and I always look forward to starting my day with an Aubaine French Toast and confidently recommend it because ingredient choices wonderfully compliant one another (not overdone, simplicity is best especially with FT) plus the quality control has remained solid and it’s an overall great breakfast experience. Side note, they have changed their French toast and It’s now a Cinnamon French Toast and I’m yet to try it. But based on one’s experiences with their previous french toast I have high expectations and look forward to trying it.
Visited and booked via First Table, was pleasantly surprised! Located nearby baker street so easy to get to, and surrounded by lots of other foodie spots. But their breakfast menu was plentiful and came quickly. Service from staff was amazing and they kept an eye on the table if we needed drinks refills or anything else. Would definitely recommend, lovely atmosphere and great place to visit for catchups.
What a cute found this place is! Their set menu did not dissapoint! Very well balanced flavours which made the food taste really good! Went for the 3 course set menu and all of the dishes were spot on. Loved the combo of the apple and the creamy parsnip soup. So light and so tasty. The mussels were delicious-loved the silky sauce and the tenderness of the mussels! And, the star of the night for me was the creme brulee- that was chef's kiss! This is by far one of the best I've had and I had a few in my life as I absolutely love creme brulee. Must also mention the service- special thanks go to Alex the bartender and our server, David for their charisma, humour and attentiveness which made the dinner experience so much more enjoyable. Will come back for sure to explore more on the menu!
Had a lovely dinner with my friends at Aubaine yesterday. The atmosphere was great, especially the roses 🌹 and candles on each table. The staff, including the manager and waiter, were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this place!
Decent food, very professional service, and a warm environment make this restaurant very welcoming and enjoyable. Don’t hesitate to try it, you will love it.
I had a great French Toast Brioche with a perfect cappuccino. Interesting and varied Breakfast menu and not too pricey for this area of London. Bright and airy classic french styled restaurant with young and polite waitresses.
Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Food on point, full of flavors.
Friendly service, great environment, perfect for breakfast for family, and individuals too. Delicious food, drinks and fresh orange juice are on the menu.
I had the honour of visiting this sensational eatery. French flavours with other European twists. I had the Lobster cesar salad 🥗 and my lovely friend had the mushroom porcini pasta which looked divine. The staff were sublime and made us feel very welcome and ar home.
The Food was amazing!!! The Maitre'D was super professional, made our experience unforgettable. We must go back there upon our return. The lamb was exquisite!!
Quite nice French style restaurant with interesting menu!
Relaxed environment with quick service and friendly staff. Recommend for everyone.
It was an awkward time, around 5.30pm, and I popped my head into the nearly empty restaurant to ask if the three of us could simply have coffee or tea. The staff were graciousness itself and said of course, and seated us at a table that wasn't yet set for dinner. Nandu, on his first day, was excellent as he patiently and efficiently negotiated my request for cake, even though this entailed some scurrying back and forth. This is, after all, a restaurant not a coffee shop! We were very happy and will return for a proper meal without doubt!
Exceptional Christmas Party Venue! I can't express enough gratitude to the wonderful team at Aubaine Marylebone for making our Christmas party an absolute success! It's taken me far too long to write this review, but the memories of that night are still fresh and delightful. From the moment we inquired about hosting our event, the staff at Aubaine went above and beyond to ensure everything was organised seamlessly. They graciously provided us with a private room, complete with a projector, creating the perfect atmosphere for our hosted talk and the festivities after. The attention to detail and the festive ambiance created by the team truly set the stage for the best party we've had and a fantastic end to the year. What impressed us the most was their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our needs. Not only did they allow us to use a mic for speeches and announcements, but they did so with a smile, adding an extra touch of warmth to the evening. We also had varying different dietary requirements, all of which were graciously accommodated. The service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the overall experience left our entire group raving about the night for weeks afterward. Aubaine Marylebone has certainly set the bar high for any future events we may host. Thank you once again to the Aubaine team for going above and beyond to make our Christmas party truly memorable. If you're looking for a venue that combines elegance, excellent service, and a festive atmosphere, Aubaine Marylebone is the place to be! Saskia Co-CEO Private Therapy Clinic
Arrived for breakfast without reservation. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Good quality coffee. We ordered avocados toast with fried eggs and eggs Benedict. Both were tasty and well prepared. Maybe a bit more attention on the dish presentation, as the Benedict eggs dish was very empty.
The ambience of the restaurant was perfect. They have nice seatings and very cosy French restaurant in central London near Marylebone area. Burrata was delicious and scallops were cooked to perfection. The lobster spaghetti initially felt the pasta was too soggy and not al Dante enough. The manager was nice to help and change the dish for us. Overall, I think it’s a great place to come for some drinks and have a lovely meal.
This is a chain of restaurants, and been to them before, but at different locations. Very nice layout of the restaurant and the staff were very attentive. Food was great as well; would recommend trying it
Stopped by to grab a bite to eat and a coffee with my friend. Had Avocado Toast, which was yummy, but the poached eggs were slightly over cooked. However, the service was excellent 👌
Delicious food and nice ambient for a work lunch. I had the burrata with the bread basket and it was enough to fill me up for lunch. On the expensive side but worth the money in my opinion.
Great breakfast menu with a good selection. Food delivers on the taste. Place is bigger than it looks!
The ambience is nice. We were a group of thirty five people book the upper floor for dinner. We were served a 3 set menu. The food presentation is nice the quality of food and the taste is good The staff are very friendly and helping There is a ground level seating which is also nice Small tables outdoors The beetroot with goat cheese salad is amazingly simple and tasty. Fish plate was good also
Nice place for appetitivo, and desserts. Main course is a bit of let down.
Brunch is very good, the Americano is not bad, but a little bit pricy.
beautiful restaurant ~nice dishes and friendly staff.
Very good food and service. Really nice ambience.. washrooms need attention. Overall, staff are helpful and friendly. Will recommend to friends...
Perfectly cooked high quality food. The restaurant has a great atmosphere.
I had the set Christmas menu here which was a very reasonable price. I was given the incorrect starter but this was corrected promptly without charge. The portions felt a bit small but they did taste good. I expect the non set menu is more interesting. You can tell the chef is very good. A greater selection of soft drinks would be nice but if you are a wine drinker I imagine these dishes would compliment more finely.
Service and food we're good, but for the price level you'd expect a little better. To be precise: the fillet steak was not as ordered (two of us ordered it medium and it was in both cases a bit chewy and well done), attention was intermittent and a couvert was forgotten. Nevertheless Aubaine is a great place to go to for a dinner in an upmarket place.
I enjoyed an acceptable dinner at Aubaine. The chicken was very well cooked although the accompaniments need improving - the ingredients mentioned on the menu did not feature prominently. Cep & bacon are strong flavours that did not come through and the sauce was too thin. If these can be improved it would be a smart & tasty dish. The pudding was tasty (albeit too sweet) though I wouldn't be sure it was homemade. Service was good. NB this was enjoyed on a half price offer - I wouldn't be happy with this standard at the full price.
The place is big and spacious. They have outdoors seating. The service was very slow they took 15 mins to clean my table. I paid for 2 salads and 2 cappuccinos £70 The toilets were clean. The service is. Included My waiter was polite
Went there for dinner to celebrate my sons birthday. It was empty, maybe because it was a Sunday, but as it is a large restaurant, it didn’t lend much to the atmosphere. Food wise it was average. I wouldn’t really call it a French restaurant as the cuisine had more Italian inspired dishes than French. I had the lobster spaghetti which is supposed to be one of their signature dishes. It was okay flavour-wise but a little dry and salty. My son had the sirloin steak which was too salty. We also had the truffle pasta and samphire with pickled mussels. Again, nothing to rave about. All quite average tasting. However, service was good and the staff very friendly. Overall, it’s fine to go in to grab a bite but not for a special occasion and not if you want to go somewhere to taste amazing food.
Gorgeous setting, waiters very friendly and helpful. Went for Sunday brunch and it took over 50 minutes for the dishes to be delivered. Once it had arrived, it looks delicious but really lacked in flavour and seasoning. Asked for eggs to be easy over but they were rock solid in the centre. Found it all to be quite dry.
Service friendly but food overpriced for what it is. Good poached eggs and I’ll give them that, but definitely style over substance. £18 for an omelette and £17 for a small avocado on toast, absurd even considering the location.
The ambience is nice and the decor is simple and beautiful. The food though is quite average. We ordered a lot of food, nothing was great.
Good service..the desserts are nice. The caesar salad has anchovies, which is the twist that I didn’t like.
A bit disappointed with our brunch here. Very overpriced, and very cheap quality ingredients. My friend and I both had scrambled eggs, one with ham and the other smoked salmon. Confusing menu pricing, so that I hadn't realised that the salmon was a £9 surcharge, for two small slices of not high quality fish! The fresh orange juice was not fresh at all either. I ordered spinach as well, but the waiter forgot to bring it, thankfully, because I doubt it would have been fresh. All in all, not worth the pric
Food was on an ok level but that did not correlate with the menu prices and over the top wine prices. Some inexperienced staff added to the general feeling of disappointment...one of my fellow diners meals was uncooked. Maybe I was unlucky as I have always wanted to visit here...but it maybe some time before I try again
One of the few place open during 1st of January and nevertheless it was almost empty . Service was super slow. Pasta for our daughter arrived promptly after 20 minutes but it was undercooked and with a terrible sauce. Our mains arrived after 45 minutes from the time we ordered. Very basic in terms of taste and highly overpriced. Fun fact for the 24£ chicken: came with pumpkin seeds in their shell.
Nice place but food we ordered was mediocre at best and very small portions. We got desserts, creme brulee, mille fuielle and cappuccino and it came to a pretty expensive total! Price not matching food quality..
Waited more than 30 minutes for egg benedict, avocado toast and french toast... Disappointing.. And yes it's good but I mean it doesn't worth waiting that long and à bit overpriced
Had a late brunch with a friend, pleasant place but below average food. Ordered an omelette that tasted like airplane food and made me faintly nauseous, my friend ordered avocado on toast which was bland and disappointing. Earl grey tea was also sad. It’s very hard to find food this average in London, especially Marylebone.
The food is way too overpriced for what it is. The waiter said the schnitzel was coming with fries but it didn’t. I ended up having to order them extra, which costed 25£ for a small piece of chicken and fries. Not an aubaine (=good deal in French), in my opinion My friend had the poached eggs with salmon on toast which came super small and plain on the plate. No side salad or anything. I do not recommend. independently-owned restaurants have much better food quality than this
Aubaine sins of becoming what mayfair currently stands for, overpriced on a promise of premium quality that never seems to deliver. Went into this restaurant as a last resort drawn in due to the locale looking cute and having an appealing menu but shortly in we stumbled upon a very slow service that took a while to sit us regardless of the empty space. Ordered the wagyu burger and really left me disappointed, for a burger labeled with the trendy wagyu tag and a decent price tag of £23, the burger itself was tasteless and made me feel I would get a way better value for money in any street food joint. Fries were the highlight of the plate with a perfect crisp to mush ratio but I guess the side being the highlight speaks for itself. Overall it’s a cute place in a prime location that comes in through the eyes but disappoints in every other aspect, I’m sure if they put some care into their food and service as much as their instagramable presentations they could improve massively.
Not the food quality you would expect from a place like this. They should think more carefully about the menu they want to offer to large groups, some dishes (e.g., streak) need to come out from the kitchen warm and juicy, not cold and dry because they are overcooked but served too late. Not worth the money
My experience was extremely disappointing. If there were an option to rate less than one star, I would choose it without hesitation. Upon receiving my order, both the Wagyu Sando and the fries were far from the quality I had previously enjoyed. They were overcooked and lacked freshness. When I raised my concerns with the manager, the response was unprofessional. Additionally, when I requested the bill, a staff member ignored me despite my repeated calls, even though the place was not busy. I will attach the photos and I will leave the comparison to you dear reader.
The food was quite simple in taste and presentation but very much well overpriced. The wagyu burger was a £22 steal with very dry and hard brioche bum, almost naked burger, and the worst was the meat, well too overcooked and tasteless. The avocado toast £17 was absurdly small and simple, and similarly the roasted aubergine, only half aubergine with small side. Friendly service at first turned into rushed atmosphere with waiter attempting to take the food away without finishing it. £16 for a simple glass of wine that was not even good! The place and food was definitely overpriced even for the location, with other better options around. Definitely not going again.
Used to be good. Now it’s a must avoid. 40 minute wait for starters, we ordered cold smoked salmon and a soup so not exactly difficult. After this, another 30 mins wait for mains. The sea bass was average at best with an undercooked center. The rigatoni was frankly disgusting and I didn’t eat it. The only upside was the waiter we had who was genuinely polite and sympathetic.
Popped in today to have lunch and we were very disappointed. We are both vegan and not only there are only two options for us (we chosee one each) but when they arrive both were flavourless and tasted like it was directly taken from a can from Tesco. The salad was covered in salad cream (from Heinz possibly) with two halfed cherry tomatoes on top and the aubergine was not well cooked, just sliced and fried and put on top of a tomatoed can of chickpeas. The service was nice, the food, not good. Not for Vegans/Vegetarians
The service went from poor, to appalling. A hugely inexperienced waiter, twice trying to clear the table mid course because our mains were waiting. But we paid the service charge at the end, as the industry has been through such a tough time. A quick polite word with the manager after the meal, to point out what was happening in the event she wasn't aware, only to be told she was very aware, but that was just the way things were, and it would take months to improve. The food was good, but the restaurant is ruined by how the place is being run. Sadly, I'd actively recommend not going here.
The food was below average. Poached eggs were served well-done without asking how we like it cooked! Coffee was terrible.
