Opinions de Hawksmoor St Pancras & Martini Bar London
4 of us went to The Martini Bar at Hawksmoor inside The Renaissance Hotel for cocktails and lunch in a Saturday. The venue is an absolute jewel of a venue, utterly gorgeous . There is a short but perfectly formed Bar menu including Oysters and the most delicious burger I’ve ever had! The staff were so lovely and genuine. A shout out must go to the charming and superbly named Eldar Bellini! Can’t wait to go back!
A wonderful place - great stylish steakhouse atmosphere. They have comfortable booths - get one if you can. The service was impeccable and we had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. Our steak was not as immaculate as it usually is at Hawksmoor (the one that was supposed to be well done was raw and my medium rare fillet was quite dry. It happens so we swapped and managed through.
Was so excited to have gotten a spot for the soft launch of this branch in November 2025! I’d never been to Hawksmoor so this was a special one for me. We were sat in the Martini Bar and had the excellent Lewis attending to us for most of the evening. Started with a classic gin martini which was VERY yummy! My friend had the pornstar Martin which came completely clear and tasted SO good! Then went for the hash browns - I could have eaten these all night as they were AMAZING!! Had half a dozen oysters (jersey rock and Vietnamese). Both amazing. The Vietnamese ones blew me away!! Very very tasty. Very very fresh. The dozen crevettes were plump, juicy, and ever so fresh (again!). Couldn’t fault them. Then steak frites, followed by the sticky toffee sundae. Could barely move after all of that and, although they closed early for soft launch, we were not hurried out of the martini bar at all by the serving team. They just let us sit and finish our drinks in peace without us feeling like we were in the way. Managed to get a sneak peak of the main restaurant and it looked VERY grand! Thrilled that my first time in a Hawksmoor was as good as this experience and will definitely be back for the main restaurant x
Above and beyond every expectation! The manager went out of his way to squeeze us in for an impromptu celebration dinner despite us having no reservation and the restaurant being fully booked. We're forever grateful because Hawksmoor was the perfect setting for our family get-together. The atmosphere was Christmassy, server was amazing and the food was 5 star from drinks and apps to dessert (especially the Jersey oysters!). I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
Hawksmoor St Pancras - Martini Bar Steakhouse Martini Lemon Drop Extra Dirty Vodka Martini Hawksmoor Double Melon Martini We popped in for a late lunchtime cocktail on a Friday. The bar area for drinks was fantastic, comfortable and service was impeccable. Very busy so most spaces taken. A couple reserved spaces. The restaurant was open, bright and very busy too. The facilities as a whole were impeccable. The extra dirty martini was the best I have had this side of the pond, thank you Bogden. I can't wait to come back and drink more of your martinis. Such a wonderful mixologist!
First time at a Hawksmoor and extremely impressed by the food, the best Yorkshire puddings I've ever had, fillet steak cooked to perfection and incredible beef dripping chips. Stunning location inside and outside, the martini bar is a work of art. Top class service and did the 3 course January special for £26 - unreliable value for the quality of food.
I was lucky enough to attend the launch of the new Hawksmoor Martini Bar in St Pancras, followed by dinner in the restaurant. It is one of the most spectacular venues in the city, and the Martini Bar deserves to become a destination in its own right. St Pancras Hotel is one of the most spectacular buildings in London, in an increasingly buzzing King's Cross precinct, and the new Hawksmoor fits in very well. The Martini Bar is at the front of the building, and will be how most guests enter. If you are a cocktail lover, it is certain to be a must visit destination. The Martini cocktail is the focus, with several wonderful variations using wine and vinegar as well as the traditional vermouth, and an array of savoury garnishes. My top pick would be the aptly named 'Steakhouse Martini' with Grey Goose vodka, Chardonnay, peppercorn and olive brine, kind of a sophisticated take on the 'Dirty Martini'. They also offer 'Direct Martinis' which are a nod to the famous Dukes Martini - these are very cold and not very diluted, so be warned. One thing to point out in this era of ever higher prices, the Martini cocktails are priced at a (relatively) reasonable 15 pounds which for destination drinking in a spectacular room, seems like fair pricing for London. The bar also offers a food menu, as well as their modern classic cocktails from other venues, like the 'Shaky Pete' and the 'Sour Cherry Negroni' and a wide range of spirits including less well known whiskies from Craigellachie or indie bottler Heart Cut, and some well crafted no and low alcohol options. Service in the bar is excellent, we were well looked after by Liam, Lewis and Dan. It is probably worth mentioning the room and the building, as this will probably be a big part of why you would go (at least the first time) The bar and restaurant are in the front of the St Pancras Hotel, a truly extraordinary building and secular cathedral by Sir George Gilbert Scott (who gets name checked in the private dining room) It has had an extremely sensitive renovation, extremely comfortable and gorgeously lit to make both you and your drinks look as good as possible. You'll spend quite a bit of time at every visit with your eyes drawn to the ceiling and the spectacular Gothic details of the room. The bar and restaurant are connected to St Pancras and Kings Cross stations which have a unique buzz with trains departing to and arriving from Scotland and Europe. It's a perfect spot for a drink before heading on an adventure, but the cocktails at Hawksmoor are so good you might be hoping your train is cancelled.
I was so excited to snag a booking for their soft launch! I’ve been a huge Hawksmoor fan since moving to London about a year ago, and I’ve made it a personal mission to visit all of their beautiful locations 😍. This was also the perfect excuse to finally wander through St Pancras and appreciate the stunning interior. The Martini Bar itself is gorgeous, and it would honestly be a crime not to order the Ultimate Martini. We kicked things off with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh and delicious. The scallop crudo was bright, refreshing, and perfectly citrusy. I’d actually recommend getting one to yourself. The Wilder Slider and the steak frites are great options if you’re after something a bit heartier. But the true highlight? The beef dripping hash brown. WOW. It’s outstanding on its own, but adding the Exmoor caviar and crème fraîche took it to another level. I think I briefly died and went to heaven with that one 🥵🥵 And then… their desserts. Unreal. The Grand Rocher left me absolutely speechless. It’s basically a giant Ferrero Rocher with hazelnut ice cream inside. Just trust me and order it. Finally, I expected the maple custard tart to be good, but I was genuinely surprised by just how incredibly good it was. Thanks for a fun night!
Had an unforgettable lunch at Hawksmoor King Cross on New Year's Eve with the wife! The scallops with chataubriand were TO DIE FOR, and the house red paired perfectly. We also loved the cocktails at the Martini Bar - top notch! The interior is stunning, worth a visit just to soak it all in. Service was top-tier, staff were attentive and fantastic. A truly special spot for a special occasion. Can't wait to come back!
I went to Hawksmoor St Pancras for dinner with friends and had a fantastic experience. The service was spot on — Pete looked after us and was incredibly nice and calm, even though we were never quite ready to order. Thank you, Pete, for your patience! The food was amazing, with beautifully tender meat, and the cocktails were absolutely over the moon. Prices were reasonable for the quality and overall experience the place offers. I’d definitely recommend it.
Fabulous experience. January set menu three courses. Beef pot and Yorkshire starer is excellent as is the main steak and leave room for the best lemon pavlova I have ever had. Perfect friendly service from David and thank you so much Elisha for the amazing bone marrow sauce. We definitely be back again
Had lunch here at the new Hawksmoor yesterday! Food was amazing as always. Started off with a steakhouse martini in the fabulous martini bar. Then on to the seafood platter with lobster and the caviar to start. The prawns on the platter we amazing as were 3 different types of oyster. The beef dripping hash browns that cane with the caviar were amazing. We then shared the Chateaubriand with bone marrow gravy, beef dripping chips and creamed spinach and finished off with the grand Roche dessert. I could eat that all day. Thanks Hawksmoor for another fabulous lunch
I’m on a mission to find the best martini in London and so I had to try the martini bar and this place has shot to joint top of the list. I had the classic, I’m coming back to try one of their direct martinis. I had it with gin and it was delicious. Ice cold as a martini should be the perfect balance of gin and vermouth. The place is stunning you could sit and stare at your surroundings for hours it really is very special. The staff were great afterwards Daniel came and sat with us and discussed how they make the martini and and the variations and he was so knowledgeable and informative and obviously very passionate about his craft which shows in the quality of the martini they serve. We’ll definitely be going back and I would say it’s a must for any martini lover.
Such a wonderful experience. The space is beautiful, and while it’s large, it’s run very efficiently. Staff were super attentive and accommodating. We ordered Caesar and some Yorkshire puddings to start, and followed with probably one of the best chateaubriands I’ve ever had. The meat was so tender and expertly cooked. We ended our meal with the classic sticky toffee pudding and loved how indulgent it was. If you can, make a pitstop into their martini bar before or after dinner - it’s beautiful.
I was in the mood for steak this weekend and just happened to discover the new branch that opened at the St Pancras Hotel! Yesterday was the Grand Opening. After booking a table with a click 🚀, I went to check it out. There is a Martini Bar right by the entrance. It was quite crowded yesterday, but the atmosphere felt good. Walking from the front hall into the corridor leads to the Dining Space—a very comfortable dining area with high ceilings, and the tables are spaced just right. Perhaps because it's a new opening, the server was super enthusiastic 😄 (but so enthusiastic it was almost clueless—came over twice to ask how the food was while we were vigorously chewing 🤷🏻♀️). Wha we had: -Scallop Crudo Cool and refreshing, a great appetizer 🤤 -Roasted Marrow Incredibly fragrant, the bone marrow paired with the crisp bread 🍞👍🏻 -T-bone Two people who claimed they weren't hungry ended up eating 900g 🤓🙏🏻 -For dessert, we ordered the Grand Rocher 🍫😋! Like a giant Ferrero Rocher. Although there was a slight incident that affected the dining experience, we brought it up to the manager at the end and received her understanding, an apology, and a prompt, proper resolution. The Head of Reservations, when we were collecting our coats, recognized my partner's voice from previous call just from one "bye" and chatted with us for a while, gathered feedback and welcomed us to visit again. All in all! The beef was delicious, the service was quite attentive, and it's a restaurant I can see myself visiting often! Highly recommend it to everyone 💖
We were a party of 8 and we started our lunch in the Martini Bar. Friends had the Espresso Martini and they said it was the best. I personally can recommend the sour cherry negroni. When our numbers were complete we moved to the restaurant and our waiter, Nick, introduced himself and gave us the menus. Most of us had starters and all said delicious (I had the smoked salmon which was very good served with lovely rye bread). Half of our party opted for steaks. All said they were terrific and some of the best steaks they had ever had. I had the 350g monkfish on the bone with garlic mushrooms and small Caesar salad which was excellent. We all enjoyed the rose and red wines we chose which were not the really expensive ones. Water was topped up throughout the meal without asking. Nick, our waiter, was friendly, helpful and provided all the information asked for around steak sizes, along with cooking and resting times. Nick, thank you for looking after us so well. This Hawksmoor establishment rooms in the St Pancras hotel are beautiful. I would recommend this restaurant and cocktail bar to anyone looking for good food and service in lovely surroundings.
High class restaurant that works towards giving you the best dining experience possible. This particular branch of Hawksmoor has only recently opened (Autumn 2025), but has already established itself as a firm fixture in the local area. As is tradition with the Hawksmoor brand, the quality of food and service is incredibly high, and you get what you pay for. Their current lunchtime special menu allows you to have a course for £19, or, if you're hungry enough, three courses for £26. I've indulged in the latter twice now, and have staggered away very full and satisfied. Its worth going for the sticky toffee pudding alone, but the range and choice of delicacies on the menu will satisfy the majority of taste buds. If you've never been, do all you can to reserve a table for lunch or dinner, or at least have a drink in their comfortable martini bar.
LOVED this branch of Hawksmoor. Stunning renovation of the previous restaurant. Will definitely come back again.
There were five of us and the overall dining experience was pleasurable. We were especially delighted to have such a friendly staff who offered to explain the story and the history of the hotel and the restaurant room, as we were just gazing the interior roof. However, the serving temperature of the steak could have been more attended to. Given number of dishes we ordered, some of the earlier cooked steak were relatively cold when being served together with the later dishes. It became completely stale during the course of our dining. Plate warming should be improved.
The best Sunday roast we’ve had in London. Perfectly cooked pink meat (you can choose to have it pink or well done) and very generous portions. I Highly recommend the creamy spinach side also. Brilliant service, thank you for making our anniversary special!
Beautiful art deco , most elegant restaurant with incredible steaks and best desserts ever! A treat and the best London restaurant of this year without a doubt!
Another great restaurant from the Hawksmoor team. This one feels a little more intimate than their other London restaurants. The only thing I’d say is that being a listed building if you’re sat near the windows it can be quite draughty when it’s cold outside
Best steak in London! Good vibes, good food and excellent service from Kieran 👍🏻
Hello to the Hawksmoor - you are looking very good. Welcome Ladies and Gentleman to the new addition to the family. I appreciated the palm treesque bar design. A great speaker system with crisp clear tones welcomes you to the velvet banquettes of the bar. The beautiful dining room curves like a journey about to be taken. The richly designed room has a selection of great booths and tables which allow you to glance at the Gilbert Scott triumph out of the windows. A compelling floor staff guide you through a well honed set of classics into the the grassed wonderlands. Thanks team for looking after us. Looking forward to a return.
We came for the set menu and everything was perfect. The food was amazing and our waiter David provided excellent service, he explained the menu well and was consistently checking that evening and as okay with our food. Everyone else was very friendly and we had a lovely conversation with Ioannis one of the managers. Definitely would recommend
A wonderful restaurant for special occasions. The service, both in the bar and restaurant, was exceptional, great, buzzy atmosphere and fantastic food. As expected the steaks were perfect. It is expensive but worth it.
Nothing better than going to a trusted place you already know and love, but still being blown away. This time it was the service for me- Martine is an absolute star, so attentive and friendly and funny and kind. The food here is always good but the service is what will make me come back. Thanks Martine
Went to the new St Pancras Hawksmoor. Booked as part of their January offer. Great atmosphere and delicious food. The restaurant team were welcoming and helpful. All in all an excellent end to a post Christmas catch-up with friends. Would definitely return.
Great setting with great food (if you like a steak!) and wonderful service. Very fortunate to get a good offer due to the newly opened restaurant.. So may be priced out of many future visits but would recommend visiting (and maybe get a feel for the splendid decor).
Hawksmoor King’s Cross was absolutely outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely lovely — the kind of service that instantly puts you at ease and makes the whole experience feel special. The atmosphere is perfect too: warm, stylish, and buzzing without ever feeling hectic. And the food… wow. The fillet steak was hands down the best I’ve ever had — unbelievably tender, full of flavour, and cooked to absolute perfection. Every bite was one of those “okay, this is next level” moments. The sides and cocktails were just as impressive, especially the triple-cooked chips. Service throughout was amazing — attentive, upbeat, and totally on it. You can tell the whole team really cares. Overall, a solid 5-star experience. If you’re near King’s Cross and want exceptional food with top-notch service, Hawksmoor is an absolute must. I’ll definitely be going back.
As soon as I got news of excellent steak chain ‘Hawksmoor’s latest offering, I was keen to visit, given positive past experience at their West End and Knightsbridge venues and also given its situation in one of the great jewels of Victorian Gothic architecture, St Pancras Chambers. It did not disappoint. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the soaring magnificence of the building, beautifully lit, in all its Victorian Gothic splendour. You enter up steps via a gothic arch to bring you into what is surely one of London’s finest dining spaces with a beautifully atmospheric cocktail bar, perfectly lit to enhance the richness in the colour and detail of the Victorian’s creation. We didn’t hang around in bar, perhaps next time… checked our bags and coats and went through into the rather magnificent dining room. Swiftly greeted by our waiter, very friendly and knowledgeable of the provenance, herds and heritage breeds, we were guided through the menu. Being a party of seven, ‘the first Tuesday dinner club’, a group of seven old friends who meet regularly for some mild carousing, we opted for the cheapest red on the menu, thinking quantity not quality. This didn’t disappoint and was a more than good enough accompaniment for the delicious fare. The food hit the spot and we ordered a selection of individual and sharing plates. For me, the star was the Short Horn prime rib, richly smokily flavoured and melt in the mouth. Superb, crisp French fries, fresh crunchy salad and well-seasoned spinach, all excellent. The friendly waiters also brought out some very interesting old black and white photos of the opulent room showing it through the ages, All in all, an excellent experience with great quality food, wine and service, set off by a unique and timeless venue. I’ll be returning.
Great cocktails. Wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Staff were excellent. All very attentive, explained each course if asked and we had a wonderful dessert on Martine's recommendation. She was extremely helpful and so friendly. Food was excellent, great tasting and good value on their set menu. Will visit again.
My husband, daughter and I had the most beautiful Valentine’s lunch at Hawksmoor, and once again it reminded us why it’s pretty much the only restaurant we ever choose. Susanna was amazing — she welcomed us so warmly and found us a lovely table that made the whole afternoon feel special from the start. What meant even more was how kind everyone was to our daughter. So many members of staff came over to say hello and make her feel included — it was genuine, thoughtful, and just lovely to see. Our waiter was brilliant — attentive, relaxed, and completely on it. The food was flawless as always, the steaks cooked perfectly, and the cocktails absolutely divine. Valentine’s lunch could not have been better. There truly isn’t a better place.
Fantastic place! Our party of 6 all really enjoyed our meal. All of the food was wonderful along with the drinks. It was a special occasion and being in such a great venue, looked after by great waiting staff, eating great food will be a great memory. We all want to go back for a Sunday roast in the near future.
We visited the Hawksmoor St Pancras and Martini Bar for the soft launch of their restaurant. The dining room is not too large and has a fair number of dining tables and booths. This establishment is not as large as some of the other Hawksmoor branches like Wood Wharf and Air Street. As it was a soft launch there were one or two issues such as a delay in getting our table however the staff were all very good about it and offered us complimentary drinks while we waited for our table. The menu is the typical Hawksmoor set menu with our favourites like the Bone Marrow and Onion and the Pork Ribs starters. We also enjoyed the Ribeye Steaks. Our waitress was Martine and she performed her duties extremely well being both engaging and helpful, and even convincing us to have some desserts although we were all completely stuffed. She made our evening enjoyable despite the long wait for our table and our food. The food was great with the exception being the Crab dish which was kindly changed for us by Martine. All in all we had a great time.
Superb venue. High ceilings, plenty of space, nice bar area separate to the main restaurant, ticked alot of boxes. Service overall was good, most of the staff were engaging and helpful. For a Wednesday lunch time the set menu was incredible value. Food is always a decent standard at Hawksmoor. The venue itself makes it my first choice to go to now out of all of their branches. 8/10 well worth a visit.
Very nice restaurant 👌 Martini bar was a bit of a let down, no atmosphere or vibe at all! Main restaurant: Starters were not so good Oysters were small in size crab was amazing 👏 Steaks were ok Sides were poor Service could of been a lot better
Unfortunately, I can only give 2 stars my experience at the Martini Bar. A friend had booked a table for 4 on 24 Jan. I arrived first out of the group and waited alone for a couple of minutes to be seated (I’m of Asian descent). A white couple came in a few mins after me and stood behind. When the hostess came to the line which I was first in, she ignored me and went to seat the couple behind. If it wasn’t for this I’d be giving 4-5 stars as the atmosphere, food and all the other staff were lovely and attentive. First time I’ve left a bad review due to casual racism in London in 7 years. Very disappointing.
No-one likes a cold £47 filet steak. Sat down at 6.15pm in a table of 4 people, no starters ordered, mains came at 7.25pm and it wasn't worth the wait. Don't believe the hype of this place as the plate was cold, the steak was cold and its wasn't medium rare. It got replaced within 10 mins and was much better - but when you are trying to build a premium brand steakhouse reputation you need to live up to it. Have a procedure in place to check the temp of the food before its served and don't hope the customer won't notice or hasn't got the courage to complain. The waiter was apologetic and did sort it, but it shouldn't have got to that point. It has to to be right first time in order to justify the brand and the pricing.
Honestly, I would’ve given this place a 5 star but the disrespectful comment given to me at the end of my meal is atrocious. You would expect from a great place like this that their staff would be more courteous and mindful of their own opinions. I won’t name who exactly this person is as they know who they are, but the wider team has been excellent from start to finish. Shout out to the lady at the check in who was lovely and wished me happy birthday. The food was immaculate I have to say. The filet option was the best and definitely melts in your mouth. I love HAWKSMOOR and have always been going to this place since they opened in Canary Wharf and have loved coming here with family and friends. Not sure this is solo diner friendly… Not sure I would be coming back to this branch but we will see for the future - might have to resort back to Canary Wharf as my experiences there have been better every time.
Visited Hawksmoor St Pancras on 17/01/2026 and left extremely disappointed. This was an outing we had been looking forward to for over a month, and it completely missed the mark. We entered through the Martini Bar, where I ordered what can only be described as the most ridiculous Recovered Porn Star Martini I’ve ever had – oversized ice, poor balance, and absolutely not worth the price, I literally thought they had brought me the wrong drink and had to confirm. There were more staff than customers, yet the service was cold, unfriendly, and lacking any sense of hospitality. The dining experience somehow managed to be even worse. When we sat down, two male staff members , one I think was the dining supervisor, approached our table who were hostile, disengaged, and openly unbothered. They did not attempt conversation, did not explain anything, and treated us as if they had a personal grudge against us. We ordered caviar with hash brown potatoes, which was honestly laughable. It appeared the caviar had been scraped from a jar, mixed into crème fraîche, and then topped with what amounted to a single knife smear of caviar. Completely misleading and unacceptable for a restaurant at this level. The only highlight was the crab starter which honestly was sublime. We ordered two portions of oysters, both of which were no larger than a penny piece. Shockingly small and poor value, saved by the mignonette. The steaks were just “okay”. For nearly £45 per steak, I expect exceptional quality. I’ve had far better elsewhere for significantly less. Throughout the meal, no fewer than 4 different members of staff came to our table under the guise of “providing service,” yet only one of them smiled or showed any genuine professionalism. For reference, he mentioned he would soon be travelling for some time as he loves to travel, he was the only bright spot for engagement. Our booking was at 3pm, so this cannot be blamed on peak-time pressure. The service itself was slow and people who had arrived later were getting meals before others. The final bill came to almost £300, which is incredibly upsetting given the quality of food, service, and overall atmosphere, especially considering the many other excellent options in the area. We paid the service charge purely to avoid confrontation, but in hindsight, we regret doing so. Overall, this was a huge disappointment and not the Hawksmoor experience we expected, keep in mind my last visit to the Canary Wharf branch was exceptional and we have been to the London Bridge restaurant with satisfying experiences. I only wish we had entered through the station instead and stumbled into one of the bars there , it would have been a far better way to spend our time and money.
