Opinions de La Brasserie London
Went for lunch for my 40th and had a great time. Food was lovely, great selection and all good arrived hot (there were 6 of us) and food arrived together. Service staff were lovely, very friendly with good sense of humour too (bought my pudding saying happy 20th instead of 40th as a joke) Reasonably priced for the area too and would defo recommend and go back.
I was honestly surprised after reading a few of the lower-rated reviews — I eat at La Brasseria Milanese quite often, and the food has always been excellent. On the rare occasion something wasn’t quite right (though I honestly can’t remember when that last happened), the staff were quick to sort it out with a smile. My family absolutely loves this place — it really reminds us of Italy, from the flavours to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Thank you to the whole Brasseria team for consistently making every visit such a lovely experience! 🇮🇹❤️
Lovely spot for italian food. We actually ordered a pasta and green salad to takeaway and was amazed how fresh the pasta remained and the care taken to package the pasta. Staff were incredibly friendly, especially bartender who went above and beyond for a takeaway order. I liked the vibe and will definitely eat in one day.
La Brasseria is a cozy, welcoming spot that consistently serves very good food. From pizza and pasta to the chicken Milanese, the menu delivers well across brunch, lunch, and dinner. In summer, the outdoor seating adds a lovely touch, making it just as enjoyable for a date night as it is for a relaxed meal with friends. A dependable choice in a busy neighborhood. Quietly rated: worth stopping.
Great location: Marylebone (central London) Great selection of food: had breakfast with eggs Benedict (DELICIOUS) and my other half had panini with eggs and bacon which also was very tasty. Atmosphere 5/5: not loud music which allows you to speak and hear without struggling. Service: easy, gentle and not invasive
Absolutely lovely - couldn't fault it. I had lunch there with my daughter between hospital appointments. We had to alter our arrival time as doctor ran late, but that was no problem. I explained that because I'm old and deaf I'd like a quiet table, they suggested downstairs would be quietest and so it was, with tables nicely spaced out. My daughter had delicious sea bass and I had delicious liver ((Italian restaurants are the only place I really enjoy eating liver). The service was perfect, utterly professional and efficient, but full of Italian warmth and charm. I was in a glow of satisfaction when I left. Thank you La Brasseria.
A lovely place, can totally recommend the food. I had burrata for starter and roast chicken for mains, both very nice. Osso bucco great too. Service was good. However it was a bit too noisy.
We recently hosted a corporate dinner for our organisation at La Brasseria for sixteen guests, and it was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The food was outstanding, every course beautifully presented and perfectly balanced, with generous portions. The ambience was spot on: the ideal balance of relaxed and convivial whilst still feeling special and intimate. The service, too, was faultless. The team were attentive without being intrusive, warm, professional, and made everything feel effortless, not always easy for such a large group. Would highly recommend!
Was looking for a brunch spot where I found this place at the corner. What I ordered: Egg Royale: Perfect 2 poached eggs on the muffins with smoked salmon. Great pair of hollandaise sauce. Extras: Mushrooms, well seasoned indeed. Earl Grey Tea The staffs are super friendly and I just love their super big smiles. Great ambience and worth visiting again.
What a fantastic corner location in the heart of Marylebone. Beautiful outside space in the sun. Great friendly team and clearly an excellent well run family business that care about their guests and team. Thank you!!!
Stopped here briefly on route to an business appointment. All I can say is that from the moment I asked for a table the staff were fantastic. Very attentive, polite and efficient. A lovely little spot to people watch and enjoy the food and drink in offer. I will be returning!
Amazing Rigatoni, The pasta was perfectly cooked, the veal ragu with the sauce was full of flavor. Great atmosphere and service - I’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely delicious breakfast. Generous portions , beautifully cooked. Charming staff and well priced. Highly recommended. Thank you !
Great place in Marylebone high street. Pasta carbonara like in Italy, same for bolognese.
Very cosy atmosphere at Marylebone High Street. Great pizza “La Diavola Di Marylebone “. Unprecedented Dolci: Mousse Al Cioccolato! Served with olive oil and sea salt!
pricey but you get what you pay for. friendly staff, special thanks to gabrielle marcuccio. the playlist could be a bit more elegant for the space. amazing experience
Overall a good experience for a business lunch, we were sat in a booth and had enough attention from the staff. The dishes are very small, we had the beef regu and risotto which was small enough to leave me hungry. There was a dog barking really loud in the basement part which didn't help with the atmosphere.
La Braseria in Marylebone offers an exceptional dining experience with its elegant and luxurious ambiance. The outdoor seating area is particularly inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. I started with the burrata salad, which was absolutely amazing—fresh and bursting with flavor. The veal Milanese was equally impressive, and the filet steak was nothing short of magnificent. The service was exceptionally attentive and warm, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant. La Braseria is a must-visit for anyone seeking high-quality Italian cuisine in a refined setting.
Summery: Order the chai latte and Italian American breakfast! Bacon is absolutely delicious 🤤 Food: Chai latte is a surprisingly delicious drink, it’s the first time Iv tried this so I don’t have a point of reference how it’s stacks up against others. The English breakfast is not bad the standout item was crisp bacon! Absolutely amazing rely made the dish. I think it would had been mediocre if it’s wasn’t for the bacon.🥓 it very similar to Canadian bacon but not overly done. I was disappointed that I only got one sausage and no black pudding but the generous portion of the bacon 🥓 made up for this . In conclusion order Italian American breakfast maybe the best choice compared to English breakfast 🍳! Service Out of site out Of mind! the staff can easily forget your there and what are your needs, the brunch crowd starts arriving around 10am and the restaurant will become busy, expect a drop in service. Staff can be a bit moody, I wasn’t presented with itemise build to doublecheck if it was correct! They just presented the Epos and asked to pay which makes its place authentically French 😂 Atmosphere Unusual romantic place?! Placed just at the start of Marlebone High Street and a five minute walk from regent park. although it’s not loud which makes it a great place to have a good conversation or treat your morning after to a good breakfast 😉 surprisingly to say it feel like a couples and family restaurant and in the morning great place for introverts 🥰 Total: £23,45
Nice cozy restaurant. Superb service by Staff. Very tasty pasta. Excellent bruschetta. Carpaccio tender. Nice Espresso. Nice big windows. Good extensive menu. Good space between tables. A bit on the expensive side, typical overcharge for a small plate of inexpensive spaghetti with a hyped name - £22 for fettuccine. Will be back.
A great restaurant located at the top end of Marylebone High St. Ample seating options inside & out which is always a plus in the summer weather!! Im giving a 4 star because its pretty expensive - we ended up paying £66 EACH for 2 caesar salads, bread starter, calamari starter & 3 cocktails!! I mean dont get me wrong the food was amazing & really big portions but pretty steep pricing. Service was great - not the best ive experienced but they were efficient & pretty friendly. I am recommending to people who are happy to spend these kind of prices but I probably wont come back.
Great food and service, will come back again. For an Italian restaurant, the menu is quite wide, I clueing both pasta and pizza, which usually doesn't go well together (prefer them to focus on one of the two). Therefore we focused on the pasta and they were quite delicious. Eggplant parmigiana and beef carpaccio with truffle were amazing. The Negroni was served with multiple cubes of ice, which is an unconventional serving. The tiramisu had a great texture, but lacked coffee and liqueur tastes to me. The service was very attentive and nice. Will come back again.
4.5 stars.. service was great and pretty quick for a large party. Atmosphere was good... Bustling and low enough noise to here everyone speaking! I had a pizza which was well made and just lacked a little flavour in the dough and in the Diavola topping. The dough was the key though... Everyone else's food looked great and sounds of enjoyment we're all around me!
Overall: This review focuses on breakfast. A well presented menu offering a small, well curated list of standard breakfast items you’d expected to find in a brasserie such as this. Service was spot on, food served quickly but it wasn’t that busy to be fair and the portion size was good for the price point. Only disappointment was the £4.50 hash browns which McDonald’s do better at for 99p! Other than that a delightful experience and will return to try the main menu at some point. Food: Breakfast What I liked: • Excellent service • Nice presentation • Decent coffee • Food was well prepared and tasted good What I didn’t like: • Hash browns. Bog standard frozen ones. Do I recommend going? YES Will I go again? YES Was it good value? YES Price Point: $$
Average food, average service, average atmosphere. I would give this place a higher rating if it was not this expensive. The service alone was 15% which is much higher than the London average.
Service and staff were lovely - very happy they could seat us even though we hadn’t made a reservation - I do suggest making one though as it seems to be a popular restaurant in Marylebone. We ordered pizza and pasta - the food was good quality but I wish the pasta was slightly less eggy.
We only had coffee and a cheese cake. The cappuccino was excellently made and the cheese cake was really light and smooth as it should be. Service is also excellent and friendly.
Nice atmosphere great service welcoming staff The margarita pizza was delicious The veil was not the best The mushroom fettuccine was also good
I came here for a TimeLeft dinner with 4 other strangers I matched up with on the app. I was excited to try a new food place, especially a European spot, but the overall experience was subpar. I got the duck tortellini. It was soft to bite and creamy which complimented well with the dish. I wouldn’t warrant the price of this small dish to the quality nor portion size, but it was an interesting introduction to Italian food. Service was quite slow and it was a bit hard to get the staff’s attention at times as we were seated in a hut in the corner downstairs at the restaurant. Decent of a try but I’d look for better and cheaper alternatives.
Super mixed feelings. The interior is really beautiful and cozy. We had a table next to one of the windows and really enjoyed our spot, good people watching! It was during a warm day but it was pouring down rain = nice to be indoor and stay dry but still nice to hear the rain and get some fresh air. The staff did a great job. The food was a big disappointment. I would rate them even lower if it wasn't for the nice service from the staff. The sallad wasn't good at all, it looked and tasted like it all came directly from tins. No salt, no pepper, no dressing, no herbs, no extra love. The pizza was better, but still not good, the gluten free pizza crust was fine. But once again no spicers nor herbs. The tomato sauce was just like the sallad, tasting like it came directly from the tin.
Good food! But oh my the service, worse than the waiters in Denmark when it comes to rudeness. Maybe our group with my aunties didn’t fell to their liking. But if you are oblivious to such and younger than 70, go for the food!
Good not great brunch on Sunday. High prices, average food, ok service. Plus - dogs welcome. Ordered a frittata, but their idea of a frittata is just a slightly undercooked omelette without any of the ingredients integrated into the eggs - the spinach was just lumps of steamed greens wrapped in the egg whites.
Was a little disappointed to turn up at 7.30 on a Friday evening to find the Milanese to be off the menu! We ended up having the Battuta du Fassona which was delicious, and Little Italy Chicken Parm which was ok. We also had the Paccheri alla Norma which was fairly bland with undercooked pasta (I like al dente but this was hard). I would add that we ordered a jug of pims which was pretty much a whole jug of ice with not much liquid, serving just a glass between two. However, the service here is really excellent.
Good vibes in the heart of Marylebone. Service is good. Food is ok. Seafood risotto is decent. Pizza is better. Prices are on the spenny side.
Strange how a different day can Be so different. The atmosphere is still amazing and we were very grateful To be accommodated, without a booking on a sunny bank holiday Sunday evening. The reception was cold, as though we were inconveniencing the reception staff. Clearly that person wasn’t feeling hospitable to us. Unsure who our wait staff was as different folks served us throughout. €105 for 1 adult and two children for a main, a French fries, a glass of wine, a mocktail and a bottle of water.
Lively place with a great menu. I was alone - always a disadvantage and I felt pretty invisible. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Royal (with smoked salmon) and coffee. Great coffee but by the time the eggs came I’d nearly finished it. The dish was superbly presented - a feast for the eyes! BUT the eggs were cold which pretty much ruined it. Because of the time it took to come I suspect it was sitting around for several minutes. I eventually caught someone’s eye to order more coffee (because once they’ve served you, no one comes back) and had to ask for it twice before it eventually came. So pretty much zero for service, for which they added 15% service charge!. It’s obviously a really popular place but it feels like they know that and don’t care much any more. As a p.s. - within an hour of leaving there I had a severe stomach upset, which lasted all day along with some pains. I had eaten nothing else since the night before so have to assume something wasn’t right … the salmon? The hollandaise? Don’t even want to think about it!!
The location is very good but that's it. Service is bad, highly impersonal and untrained. Main dishes are the size of normal starters but at premium prices so it's a fairly expensive restaurant. Food is ok but defo not worth the treatment and the price. Look elsewhere...
I was very disappointed, ordered Insalata Nizzarda, specifically asked for no dressing, but it was loaded with olive oil, not what I wanted. The waitress apologised but I’m not sure where the problem with communication occurred- if it was the chef, then I highly recommend they listen to their customer’s clear request. Manager was on site but didn’t feel the need to come to our table to apologise personally, they let the waitress say sorry when I don’t think it was her fault.
The starters were poor and very bland, it was also a long waiting time. It was a similar long wait for the main courses, followed by serving the wrong main order to our table. They took limited accountability for it and were very rude. Very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend.
We visited La Brasseria Milanese on 7 November 2025 for dinner and were left very disappointed. We ordered the La Diavola di Marylebone Pizza (£19.00) and Linguine Aglio Nero (£19.50). The pizza was extremely basic and watery, with poor presentation, it looked and tasted like a supermarket oven pizza. Within minutes it became hard and unpleasant to eat, and the crust was overly tough. The linguine, which the waitress described as “very flavorful,” was completely tasteless. I had to add parmesan, salt, pepper, chili oil, and chili flakes, yet it remained bland. I didn’t even finish half the dish. The total bill was £50.50 (including one Coke and one glass of Grillo wine). The only enjoyable parts of the meal were the drinks. The service, however, made the experience worse. Our waitress Giulia became noticeably hostile after we requested a different type of water. When we later asked for sauces, she responded that it was “inappropriate to have sauce with this dish,” even though the table next to us was provided with them. She and her colleagues exchanged looks and laughed several times, which made the experience uncomfortable. When we shared that our food was disappointing, she became defensive rather than understanding. In most restaurants, a manager would check in if customers left half their plates uneaten but here, our comments were simply brushed off. We later phoned the restaurant to speak with a manager, but his attitude was similarly dismissive, defending the food and suggesting the problem was with how we chose to eat it. This response was unprofessional and unhelpful. I had visited this restaurant two years ago and had an excellent experience back then, which makes this decline in food quality and service even more disappointing. For £50, the meal was simply not worth it. We genuinely hope the management takes this feedback seriously and addresses these issues. If possible, please provide a contact email so that we can follow up directly. For now, based on this experience, I cannot recommend La Brasseria Milanese.
Came here for a quick easy dinner - can’t go wrong with simple Italian, right? WRONG. Pasta vongolle - very salty. I ate it because I was so hungry and added a load of pepper to try to balance the salt. Next, dessert - what could be more simple and authentically Italian than tiramisu. Wrong again a dish presented well inside cream and chocolate powder etc but inside were two fingers of dry sponge. Super spendy for a quick meal for one. Would never go back.
Terrible food, massively overpriced, service was slow. We ordered the focaccia and it was essentially a pizza base covered in salt, the arancini was rock hard and the duck ragu smelled rancid and was covered in oil (pictured). It wouldn’t be so bad if it was reasonably priced but we spent about £50 each including 15% service charge which is much higher than most other restaurants that actually have good service and good food!
I’ve now given this place a try 3-4 times in the last couple years. They used to be amazing many years ago and was my go to. Sadly it has all changed and now has below average food and below average service but high prices. The atmosphere is nice though.
Popped in to have a quick bite & a take away for my friend in UCLH and was charged 97£ for 2 lasagne 2 chips ravioli and 2 drinks there was a service charge of £9.50 that was added on to the bill what my mum paid If i would have known what the whole bill came to I would have gone mad at them because from the moment we walked in they was so rude very quick to be snappy like you was holding them up . In my honest opinion the lasagna’s were over priced dog food .The meat if it was meat was so ground down you couldn’t tell if it was mince meat or tofoe The first one was cold we sent it back and they sent another out which was hot but just as bad in taste I couldn’t believe they charged us 88£ and then £9.50 insult service charge which was not deserved Normally we always leave a tip but my mum didn’t want to say anything about the service charge because she don’t like causing a scene as I was already complaining about the long wait & the rudeness and poor quality of the food She new the service charge would set me off it’s wrong to stick a £9.50 service charge on the bottom of the receipt As I didn’t look at the menu I thought it would be a nice bit of traditional lasagna so I ordered what I normally do in an Italian restaurant but what we got was literally dog food I’ve had much better from a shop brought microwave one Avoid this rude overpriced poor quality food restaurant & save your money for somewhere more pleasant you would be better off trust me
I visited for afternoon brunch after a shopping trip and was shocked by the terrible service. From the moment we walked in, several staff members abruptly asked if they could “help,” but in a manner that felt more rude than welcoming. The worst part was a manager (or someone in charge) openly discussing our party across the restaurant, questioning the bartender in front of everyone about whether we had paid. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. The overall atmosphere came across as stuck-up, the service was dismissive, and the prices are extremely high for such a mediocre place. Paying customers should never be treated this way. At the end of the day, we were enjoying a shopping trip and spending money — they were the ones working a service shift. Definitely not worth it.
The maitre d who found us a table was nice enough but the server was short with us, openly rude, and seemed hostile. I don't know what we did wrong to justify the treatment but we didn't feel welcome. So we left before ordering so as to not cause a stir. We can't rate the food because we didn't get that far. Sorry to say it was an unpleasant and awkward experience.
