Opinions de Lucky Cat - Mayfair London
We were invited by friends to dine at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat in Mayfair, on entering the venue we were immediately impressed by the attention to detail and the calm, luxurious ambience of the restaurant. Chef Ken prepared us a fantastic selection of varied dishes showcasing a number of the restaurant’s highlights. The waiter service from Alex was outstanding — his warm friendly manner and clear explanations of the ingredients of each dish was super helpful especially as it was my first time trying sushi. The food was soo fresh and of exceptional quality. I never realised salon and tuna could taste so wonderful. We spent some 4 hours eating, drinking, and socialising, and the experience felt relaxed and enjoyable throughout. We also had the chance to speak with the Chef Ken and other staff at the end of the meal, including the pastry chef which added a lovely personal touch. We would highly recommend Lucky Cat to anyone looking to try sushi, as the subtle flavours and freshness made for a memorable dining experience.
Excellent first dining experience at The Lucky Cat. All staff were friendly, from the host, barman (who made us great cocktails!) and the waitress Kyonte was friendly and attentive throughout as we ordered one dish at a time. We had the salted edamame, vegetable sushi, tofu & avo bao, GKC chicken and the egg fried rice, the best I’ve eaten! The DJ music was loud enough to not hear the conversation of the table next to us, but we could still have a conversation. Would definitely return 😍
Went to Lucky Cat for a 40th celebration and it was such a great place to to. We had the Journey Menu, which I'd definitely recommend as you get a bit of everything: hot, cold, veggie, fish, meat. The standout for me was the beef tataki, absolutely packed with flavour. The servers were great too, really attentive without being over the top, and they even brought out some birthday chocolate which was a nice touch. Already eyeing up the Bishopsgate one for the next visit
We had lunch at Lucky Cat earlier today for the first time. I’ve always wanted to dine here, and I must say it exceeded my expectations—it was definitely worth the wait. The food was exceptional! For starters, the bao buns are not your typical bao buns. I have tried so many bao buns from other restaurants before but this is by far the best one I have eaten. They have a great balance of umami flavours. The buns were perfectly served—warm and not soggy. Now I understand why this is one of their bestsellers. As a seafood lover, the sweet and spicy prawns and fried calamari were a no-brainer for me and truly satisfied my taste buds. They use the freshest fish for sashimi and sushi. Considering that I don’t normally eat raw fish, this experience actually changed my preferences—I couldn’t stop eating! My favourites were the seared tuna nigiri (such a wonderful combination of flavours) and the sashimi, which literally melts in your mouth. I can’t stop thinking about it 🤤 Their presentation was superb as well. For the mains, the beef steak was on another level, especially when paired with the spicy egg fried rice—what a combo! It wasn’t too spicy, just the perfect amount of heat. The desserts were a masterpiece, and they all tasted amazing too. I would definitely recommend dining here. We had a very lovely experience and were taken great care of by Vito, Shanae, and Chef Ken
Our evening started off with the wonderful Cata serving us drinks. The lemongrass che was so delicious and Cata made it all the more special. Anna Maria gave excellent service and was attentive. All the food was exquisite, I’d recommend the miso salmon, tuna sashimi and the udon noodles. Spectacular views. Sana and Raphael and Sasha made the evening even more incredible. I cannot wait to come back. Sending love to all the staff! Until next time.
We had a Lunch here last week with my wife and our baby and we really enjoyed everything. The staff(Vito, Shanae) was friendly and they helped us a lot.We loved the Japanese touches. Thanks to chef ken for making our lunch even better try their Calamari and chicken with bao buns!! definitely will come back again.
I spent my birthday here this year. A very pleasant experience with some very appetizing options especially the plant based ones that surprised me in a very positive way. The Guacamole needs a kick to it I am afraid to say. The highlights were defiinitely the lamb chops and the french toast. The Merlot house red was also fabulous. We will be back.
We had lunch at the chef’s table and it was a lovely experience. Loved the tuna with yuzu dressing among the appetisers and the duck bao, black cod misu as well as the wagyu beef with asparagus among the mains . A shout out to the bar staff- what an amazing Mezcaltini- loved it! Service was excellent and attention was given to every guest.
I was looking for the perfect date night with my wife and I chose Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay in Mayfair and I’m so glad I did as it delivered a dining experience that was nothing short of exceptional. My wife and I were welcomed with warm hospitality and an elegant atmosphere that set the tone for a perfect evening. The service by Mo was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations throughout the night. A special thank you to him and the kitchen team for ensuring all our dishes were Halal, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We began our meal with the salted edamame, a simple yet satisfying start, lightly salted and perfectly cooked. The soft shell crab salad with weeping tiger dressing and ginger followed, combining crisp textures with a balanced kick of spice and freshness. My wife particularly enjoyed the flavours in this dish. The Chef’s Selection nigiri was a highlight. Each piece was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavour. The fish was fresh, and the rice was seasoned perfectly. We also had the salmon sashimi, which was silky and delicate, a joy to eat. My personal favourite was the maki roll my wife chose, featuring hiramasa, wasabi, yuzu, and chives. It had an incredible mix of flavours, with the yuzu adding a refreshing citrus note that elevated the dish. Next came the tempura sweet and sour prawns with pickled peppers and grilled pineapple. The prawns were light and crisp, and the sweetness from the pineapple paired nicely with the tangy sauce. It was a well-balanced dish that stood out for its clean yet bold flavours. For mains, we tried the baby chicken teriyaki with Japanese aubergine and red onion. The chicken was juicy and tender, and although the sauce that usually accompanies it contained alcohol, the dish still held its own with its natural flavours. It would have been nice to have a Halal-friendly sauce option, but overall, it was enjoyable. The spiced lamb chops with chilli sauce and tofu cream were excellent. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavour. The chilli sauce added heat without overpowering the dish, while the tofu cream gave a smooth contrast that worked well. The ribeye with Thai chimichurri and herb salad was another standout. Cooked to perfection, the steak was tender and juicy, with the chimichurri adding a refreshing, zesty touch. We also had the scallops with yuzu and sweetcorn, which were delicate and beautifully balanced. The sweetness of the corn complemented the tangy yuzu and the buttery texture of the scallops. Each bite was full of subtle, layered flavours. To accompany everything, we ordered the egg fried rice with Halal-friendly XO sauce and a slow-cooked egg. This was one of the best dishes of the evening. The rice was fragrant, the egg added richness, and the XO sauce gave a deep, savoury flavour that tied everything together. For dessert, we tried two dishes. The yuzu and passionfruit soufflé with crème fraîche ice cream was light and refreshing, though slightly sharp for my taste. The apple treacle cake with tonka cremeaux and molasses, specially prepared to be Halal-friendly, was outstanding. It was rich, moist, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Meeting the pastry chef who wanted my feedback was a lovely touch. I told him it was superb, a perfect way to end our meal. Throughout the evening, we enjoyed several mocktails. The wild rose with rose petal essence and lychee was fragrant and well-balanced, while the Fever-Tree white grape and apricot soda was crisp and refreshing. Both paired well with the dishes and added a nice, light touch to the experience. Overall, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay delivered a memorable dining experience from start to finish. The service, especially from Mo, was first class. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavour. My wife and I had a perfect date night and left thoroughly impressed. It is a restaurant that combines excellent food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming atmosphere, making it one of the finest dining spots in Mayfair.
Had a chefs table for lunch and it was just my wife and I. What an amazing couple of hours. Chef Ken was brilliant, he and his team served up some incredible food and we took the wine pairing option which was perfect. The service and engagement with staff was brilliant I didn’t question a penny of what we spent. We retired to the bar area for a further couple of hours and enjoyed some cocktails to top off a great afternoon. We will 100% be back!
Lucky Cat in Mayfair is an absolute gem. Amazing dining experience. Beautifully presented dishes with bold, well-balanced flavours, especially the grilled meats which were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was buzzy yet refined, and service was polished without feeling overbearing. Looking forward to a next visit with a bigger company of friends!
We had a chef’s table experience given to me as a 60th birthday present. Head chef Ken and the team presented a wonderful multi course food extravaganza. Each dish was presented by Ken or one of the other chefs with every detail explained with real passion. Everything was delicious and the whole team couldn’t do enough to make our meal a delight. We will definitely be going back for more.
Great service by the team and the food was amazing. We did 12 courses I think. Every single course was amazing, scallops, bao buns, grilled cod, sushi, sashimi, Octopus, steak. All cooked to absolute perfection.
The place is exquisite, a group of 6 had the Journey menu, each dish was delicious! Service was exemplary, from greeting at the door to keeping the wine topped up. It was a real treat.
Went for my birthday dinner and was absolutely succulent We took one of the set menus that was recommend to us as well as a flute of champagne, the service was on point and the food delicious Believe it or not we decided to blindly take one of the set menus and were surprised at every single stage of the dinner We’ve had Wagyu Carpaccio with truffe as a starter, an absolute banger, We were then served lots of small plates as a main, and I must say the lamb rib was out of this world, the spices on it was something I’ve never experienced before and the char marks elevated it beautifully Desert was a very nice honey biscuit with ice cream, sweet and subtle, perfect to wrap the night
Amazing restaurant with amazing views. The sushi was out of this world. We sat at the bar area because we made last minute reservations but our server, Eduardo, still provided a fantastic service.
We had a great meal there on Sunday the 7th Dec. We were fleeting our engagement and the restaurant manager Vitto gave us a free glass of champagne and a delicious fruit platter to celebrate. Great food and great service.
Fantastic dining and service experience at The Lucky Cat. Our Waitress Kyonte was super attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The DJ played some great tunes too 😂 👍🏼
So we were in London visiting from Australia a couple of weeks ago @gordongram @luckycatbygordonramsay having a great time at the chef’s table. I was wondering how to do this when I bumped into me old mate @postmalone as I came back from the loo, I said a need a hand with this proposal mate @my_kinda_scene Bridget said yes! We are engaged! I’m a lucky cat! We sat at the chef's table, it was great to watch the team work, organised calm, the food just kept coming, it was amazing, Steve and the team looked after us extremely well. Post sent a magnum of Champagne which we shared with the other guests. I meant to pinch the brass Lucky Cat chop stick holders but got distracted! Missed you Gordon! Your team did you proud
I enjoyed a lovely night, dining on valentines. Kyonte’s service was the key factor to our fantastic experience and we will ensure that we return. I’ll be asking specifically for Kyonte as a server once again. 5 stars!
We came here last night for the chefs table experience, and let me say it absolutely did not disappoint. The food was just incredible and truly had a wow moment for each dish. Which as someone who has been to a few high end restaurants, this wow factor has been missing in many. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and a special thanks to both chefs, Raymond (potentially chef ken, not sure exactly the name) and Marvin for the most amazing food! Truly an unforgettable experience. Thank you.
Chef Ken made us one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. We did the chef’s table dinner and it was phenomenal! Vito did a great job explaining what we were having and making sure the wine was always full. Every course was amazing and we even had the pork belly and fried rice which weren’t even on the menu! Would 10/10 recommend!
Went here for our anniversary and had a wonderful experience. We were given chocolates on the house to celebrate which was so kind. Our server Riad was so helpful and friendly, I don't think we've ever had such good service before - so attentive! The food was amazing, never had such good vegetarian sushi before. Our view was great too! We were originally supposed to be sat at the bar and we rang before our reservation and they were able to move us due to a cancellation to a table with an incredible view. They really went above and beyond here!
Delicious pan Asian options and amazing quality - I loved the lamb chops, the sashimi and the scallops! A beautiful setting, although off putting to see so many people spending longer photographing their food than actually savouring it. Expect tiny portions for the price tags - a lot of the menu is designed to be shared.
Came for a very reasonably priced Sunday brunch and was not disappointed in either the food, price, atmosphere or service. Coupled with bottomless Prosecco. Attentive but non-intrusive service; delicately prepared dishes, perfectly spaced to allow for enjoyable dining amid a chic atmosphere next to Grosvenor Square park. Make reservations.
We attended a private event at The Lucky Cat and were absolutely impressed. The venue itself is stunning—elegant, atmospheric, and perfect for a special occasion. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Rafael looked after all of us with incredible care and attention. He was warm, professional, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. While the entire team was attentive and helpful throughout the night, Rafael stood out by going the extra mile that made us feel genuinely special and well taken care of. His personal touch made a big difference, and we’re truly grateful. Thank you to everyone at The Lucky Cat for making our night so memorable—we’ll definitely be back!
We had an incredible dining experience at Lucky Cat with our family! The service was outstanding—every staff member was professional, attentive, and welcoming. The food was absolutely amazing, with Chef Ken preparing a fantastic selection of delicious dishes. Every bite was a delight! Highly recommend this place for an exceptional dining experience.
The seven-course Chefs table Lunch meal was a culinary journey, with each dish perfectly executed and leaving a lasting impression. The service was top-class, with the manager Vito and his chefs delivering an attentive and professional experience. They created a well-paced menu that left you feeling satisfied without being overly full. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a refined and memorable dining experience. Will definitely be back soon!
We had an incredible experience at Lucky Cat Mayfair. We went for the Valentine’s Day set menu (£150), and it was absolutely worth it. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showcasing the perfect balance of creativity and quality ingredients. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, making it an ideal spot for a special occasion. Service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive. From start to finish, the experience felt indulgent and well worth the price. Highly recommend for a memorable fine dining experience!
We got served by Wellington , he made our experience amazing and gave good energy to our night ! He made us the best drinks and took us through what is in our drinks !. Lucky cat all in all has been the best place we have came to
Hands down the best meal I’ve had - sat at the chefs table and it was incredible! Vito was simply incredible, insanely helpful and thorough with everything including wine choices. The head chef smashed it with the amazing food, would 100000% recommend.
I came to Lucky Cat today on the special occasion of my birthday and I just say it didn’t disappoint at all. Amazing ambience, food was top notch and very attentive staff. Service: I was served by a gentleman named Petit Mara. Starting from the proper greetings to ensuring if I had a good experience overall and enjoyed my food, he was very attentive despite serving other tables, he made sure I was comfortable and enjoy every delicious bite of my food. Chef, Won also made my night by treating me with his special delicious Salmon sushi 🍣 for my birthday. The picture says a thousand words from the presentation of the food to serving the customer with a smile. Highly recommend the sushi bar!! All fresh ingredients and made right away. Hygiene: Very clean restaurant! The staff looks after every customer and they ensure to take the dirty plates right away after done. Overall Experience: - No delay in prepping my order. - 11/10 - I was a happy little customer and I was treated special just like everyone else even if I came in alone to celebrate my birthday. - highly recommend to try the delicious food, the staff are lovely!
I had a fantastic time at Lucky Cat! The food was delicious and we had a great table. The atmosphere was really cool as well, as it had a lounge feel to it. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The key highlights for me were the Duck Bao Buns, the Lucky Cat Black Forest Dessert, and the Short Rib- all of which are must haves for me. Would definitely come back again!
Here’s a polished, ready-to-post Google review for you: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a truly lovely time at Lucky Cat. Sitting at the chef’s table was such a special experience and really made the evening memorable. Chef Stephen was absolutely fantastic. He took the time to explain each dish so clearly, which made us appreciate the food even more. Every course was beautifully presented and full of flavour, and the atmosphere felt both relaxed and exciting. You could really feel the attention to detail and care that goes into everything, from the service to the food itself. Overall, it was an exceptional experience and one we’ll definitely remember. Highly recommend Lucky Cat for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a unique dining experience. ❤️
I visited Lucky Cat and the experience was genuinely impressive. The service was amazing from start to finish. Our server, Eric, was really attentive and kind. He recommended the Thai Baked Stone Bass, which turned out to be a great choice. It was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu sushi was also incredible. The ambience in the restaurant was beautiful and the whole service felt smooth and quick. I would definitely recommend both the sushi and the mains to anyone planning to visit. Overall, a very good experience and I would happily come back.
We had an absolutely fantastic evening at Lucky Cat Mayfair! The food was outstanding, but what truly stood out was the staff, especially the hostess. We had such a warm, engaging chat with her as we were leaving, and it really topped off our whole experience. I didn’t quite catch her name, but please thank her, she made our night!
We had the most incredible experience at Lucky Cat Mayfair yesterday whilst at the chefs table for lunch. We took our 12 year old sons who love food, and love Gordon even more. The food was exceptional - the chefs and the hosts were amazing at explaining what we were eating, how it was prepared and where it came from. We learnt things we didn't know and enjoyed the most incredible food. To make it even better for our kids, chefs Ronaldo and Ken were so engaging with them - honestly, their kindness and genuine passion just shone through and made the whole thing that much better. To top it off, the main man himself happened to pop in when we were there; and made it a point to chat to our sons. This has ticked a bucket list item for both them and me. As somebody who has been living with stage 4 cancer since 2021; we prioritise experiences and memories over and above anything else - and this, is up there, as one of our best. Also - shout out to the amazing host at the front door. I didn't catch her name, but she was incredible!
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was good but not to the standard I would have expected having eaten in many of Ramsay’s restaurants (may have been the cuisine rather than the quality however). Service was impeccable though with great engagement from Emmie, outstanding consideration from Andrew as the sommelier and a special shout out to Mo who was everything you want in an attentive waiter plus so much more. Mo made the night so special and was engaging, funny and attentive from start to end. A credit to the business and the brand Mo. Thank you sir!
Lucky Cat in Mayfair delivered an absolutely unforgettable evening. From the moment we walked in, the service was flawless warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional without ever feeling overbearing. Every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome and completely looked after. The food was just as impressive. Each dish was beautifully presented, packed with flavour, and clearly crafted with real care and precision. From the first bite to the last, everything we tried was exceptional. All in all, a truly incredible experience and one of the best meals I’ve had in London. I can’t wait to return. This was Thursday, 05/02/25
We visited for brunch today as we had a voucher to use. Both myself and my partner were underwhelmed. We loved the ambience and the decor of the restaurant - there is amazing attention to detail from the lucky cats lining the walls to the gold lucky cat chopstick holders (charged at £15 each if you want to take them home). The restaurant, bar area, toilets etc were all spotless. When we arrived, there were only four others in the restaurant (two other groups of two). We were seated by the window and had a lovely table. We took our time ordering and decided on the brunch, a mocktail each, bottle of water and a portion of spicy squid. The brunch is served over several courses in sharing plates - pickled cucumber, edamame, sushi and sashimi, mushroom dumplings, egg fried rice then bao buns (chicken, tofu and fish). The dessert are ice lollies (strawberry and chocolate). For the bao buns, you can reorder any flavour as many as you want. Luckily, our order of spicy squid never arrived as we were too full. It turns out the waitress never put the order through. Generally, I'd give this a 3.5/5 BUT, as well as our missing order of squid, there was an elastic band in the sashimi! The restaurant was super quiet and at some point we wanted more drinks and there was no one around. Our bill came to £170 so this is not a cheap restaurant. I'm glad we visited but I don't think we'll be back.
Decided to have a Sunday evening dinner here and definitely have to say this was a great choice! Love the decor , staff made up for the lack of music in the restaurant by some great service and even were quite chatty and friendly! We ordered the spicy edamame and GFC for starters , loved the edamame it was a good blend of spice and sticky! GFC was however really really good , it’s a great mix of crispy and juicy chicken bits with some nice sauce , good serving sizes as well! The mains was the 300gm steak and miso salmon alongside a serving of the egg fried rice to share. The steak was tender and made to order with some great herb sauce on the side, however it was a bit dry and maybe a medium to rare might have been a better option for us. The salmon was a perfect blend of well cooked and the miso sauce was just perfect. Fried rice was a generous portion and better than what we expected!! Overall a great place for a dinner evening with good service and attention to detail. Special shoutout to Hillary who looked after us and was a great host for us that evening.
Really great brunch yesterday at LC Mayfair. Nice plates, light and not greasy. A mix of sushi, sashimi, fried rice, dumplings and baos baos baos... little ice creams to end it.. We also did the unlimited prosecco to sip with our meal. Service was very attentive and Junior was fun and really kind to us. Thanks fpr a lovely start to 2026 all!!
Went for lunch and got a bento box. Everything was really good. Served semi sticky rice with chopsticks… which is unusual. Prices are pretty steep.
I had a birthday meal here at the lucky cat. I absolutely loved the charred spiced lamb chops, the tempura prawns and the drink. I was served by a polite gentleman. Thank you for having me.🩵
We had brunch at lucky cat, but our stomachs didn’t handle it very well. Generally the food was okay, nothing really stood out. I expected more flavour, and my friend who doesn’t eat spicy food didn’t land the spicy bits very well. Mid brunch, my stomach was not well and couldn’t finish all of the courses. I had pain and suffered with the stomach for the rest of the day. Not sure what caused it, I eat sushi often and have a developed culinary experience. I eat all kinds of cuisines, and have no stomach issues.. It was the first time being at a GR restaurant, so I guess I had too high expectations for the place. It was not an outstanding brunch experience. The coffee was great.
We went on Valentine’s Day. We loved the vibe and the DJ's music (mostly). Regarding the food, we were given a set menu for £150 each, with various dishes and sides on the list. In general, it was OK, but the sushi consisted of only maki, sashimi, and nigiri. Would like to see fancy rolls instead of those. As a main, wagyu beef and dark cod were served. Wagyu was hard and a bit overcooked (nobody asked us how we wanted it), and cod was plain and simple. Personally, for a price tag like that, I would expect much better food. We went to a Japanese restaurant in Soho as a family of four and ate much better savoury food for £200. Lucky Cat is way overrated and overpriced, at least for the Valentine's Day menu.
My fiancee and I are avid followers of Gordon Ramsay, and for special occasions we would usually pick a GR restaurant and try them out. For my birthday, my fiancee picked Lucky Cat as we've been to Petrus and Bar & Grill, and would like to try his attempt at asian cuisine. Trusting the past experiences we've had, we ignored the bad reviews posted on google review. Unfortunately, they proved to be right. We ordered the signature menu to try the signature dishes. To be fair, the food was generally good except for the rib-eye steak which, as you can see in the photo, was overcooked and dry. Now comes the actual service..we came inside expecting that someone would greet us and take us to our table as is standard practice at high end restaurants. Unfortunately the only person who greeted us was the security guard who opened the door for us on the way into the building. No one was there so we were standing there awkwardly looking like idiots. Finally somebody comes and asks us to wait by the bar as he thought our reservation was at 7:30. (Our reservation was at 7:00) Another woman then came and finally took us to our seat and explained that it was a mistake and we can sit at our table if we wanted to. We sat down and read the menus on the table. There was a wine menu, no other drinks menu was on the table which was odd. We had to ask for the menu which contained standard drinks most people order in a restaurant, such as beer, cocktails and soft drinks. When we ordered a beer and a mocktail, the drinks took ages to come. My fiancee had to ask where the drinks were after 10 minutes.. Later, the waiter finally came over and asked if we were ready to order - we asked what the difference was between the set menus, because the menus had no useful information explaining the components of the dishes on offer. The waiter didn't know, so he had to go off and get 3 more menus. Our table had turned into an office just by looking at 4 menus and 3 paper cards. We ordered the signature menu and like I said, it was mostly good, but it was weirdly served. Some of the dishes came out with good pacing, then we had a long wait of 20 minutes only for 3 main courses to be served at once after we followed up. By that time we had lost our appetite and interest. What rubbed salt in the wound was that one of the mains (The rib-eye steak), was dry, and over cooked. I wanted to have the dish replaced but by this point my fiancee couldn't be bothered as he had lost patience with the poor service and the uneven pacing of the meal. This is a theme that we have also noticed in other reviews of this restaurant. Additionally, some dishes were explained and nicely served to us while some were just dumped at our table. The whole service experience was strange. Waiters would walk in one direction, then sharply turn in another, randomly, often bumping into each other. It was like they didn't know what they should be doing, or which areas of the restaurant they needed to monitor. The atmosphere from the staff felt chaotic and disorganised. What's surprising is that I had my birthday at Gordon Ramsay's Bar and Grill, just next door to the Lucky Cat 2 years ago and had one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I have had with great and attentive service. I cannot believe the stark contrast. It's such a shame that such bad service can distract from the food.
Came here whilst in London and I have to say I was not as impressed as I thought I would be. The food was nice however I feel incredibly over priced for what we got and have had a similar quality of food elsewhere for 1/3 of the price. The bottled water was charged which if we had been informed of that in the beginning we wouldn't have ordered it. Maybe I was a bit naive however in Dorset I have never been charged for bottled water. The service and cocktails were very good but again cocktails were incredibly pricy. I feel that the restaurant was incredibly overrated and I cannot say that I was happy or even satisfied when I left.
Four of us had the Journey tasting menu (£100pp +expensive drinks +service charge, £200pp easy). For this kind of price I would expect to be wowed frequently. That did not happen. The salmon (main) was interesting. The rest was ok, but nothing special. Service was attentive and everyone was polite. The restaurant decor is very nice and spacious. There was a DJ. Music was not to my liking but that’s just me. Restaurant is accessible to wheelchair users.
We dined at Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay Bishopsgate this evening after purchasing their advertised “Guaranteed Window Seat” gift voucher, which is sold at a significantly higher price than a standard booking. The window view was the entire reason for choosing this experience, as it was intended to be a special gift. Unfortunately, from the moment we arrived, there was visible confusion at the front of house. Multiple staff members appeared unsure how to manage the booking, and there was a clear lack of coordination. Despite having paid for a guaranteed window seat, we were seated at a table in the middle of the restaurant with no view. We were told to order drinks and assured we would be moved within 30 minutes. We were not moved for two hours. Just before dessert was delivered, effectively at the end of the meal, we were asked to move tables. By that point, it felt completely pointless and poorly handled. The wider service experience was equally disappointing. Plates were cleared before we had finished eating, and staff communication felt rushed and abrupt, with phrases like “Do you want it?” rather than the level of polish you would expect from a premium restaurant carrying the Gordon Ramsay name. The overall organisation and service felt chaotic and slapdash. When you pay a premium specifically for a guaranteed element of the experience and it is not delivered, it fundamentally undermines trust. This was meant to be a special occasion, and instead it felt disorganised and underwhelming. Very disappointing given the brand and reputation.
