Sushi was really good. The chef made all the sushi on the spot and they all tasted very fresh and good. Service was really good all the staff were polite and overall atmosphere was very pleasant. For the standard and quality the price is extremely affordable and worth it

One of my favourite things when I lived in Japan was having Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) with friends and work colleagues. I recently had a craving for Yakiniku and after doing some research, I decided to visit Kintan. The restaurant itself closely resembles a typical barbecue restaurant in Japan. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the service was prompt and attentive but not intrusive. The best thing was the food which again, was very similar to what you would find in Japan. There were the typical small plates like Gyoza and Kara-age, which were a nice start to the meal. I then had the barbecue meat and vegetables. Everything I had tasted fresh and was of good quality. Absolutely no complaints about the food. The restaurant also has a very good selection of Japanese beers and other alcoholic beverages. I had one of their limited edition cocktails and I highly recommend them. I am glad that I chose Kintan to satisfy my Yakiniku craving and will definitely be making a return visit.

We really enjoyed the Japanese barbecue experience here. We had the Kintan Course for 4 people and there was so much food! The meats were all delicious and it was fun cooking them as we liked over the grill. The interesting and varied side dishes were also very nice!

We can eat yakiniku here just like in Japan. My children all love the yakiniku here. The service is also very pleasant, so I can confidently recommend it to everyone! Please give it a try.

Such amazing food, great prices and such speedy service! We were in and out of the restaurant within an hour!! We had starters and mains and a few drinks. Some of the dishes had such wonderful seasoning and were so tasty - the o my downside is we didn’t know what they were called so couldn’t order the same! We ordered 4 mains and 3 starters plus rice and lettuce on the side and it was plenty of food for 2 We also got a table very quickly and easily. Our table was after 9pm on a Saturday night which happened to be happy hour so overall we saved around £20 on the bill, almost unheard of to have so much good food at such a good price! 100% will go again!

My boyfriend and I went there twice. The meat is delicious, and honestly, the prices are really reasonable, especially during happy hour when everything gets even cheaper. I’m absolutely in love with their sweet soy sauce galbi and I could eat 20 of them if I could.

Overall, for the money you pay, the taste and the service, this is a good option. We both got the silver option which was £50pp and allowed you as much as you wanted within 2 hours (starting from when you place your first order). The silver option gives you loads of choice but the gold choice is only £60pp and you get a few extra premium choices, so…whatever floats your boat. They say you can only order 2 things pp at a time but either time we ordered, we must have got about 4 things pp. We were absolutely stuffed after about 1 hour 30 mins and I can seriously pack it away. The flat iron and sliced ribeye were the best in my option. Tasty and they are served as bigger bits so you aren’t grilling 18 small pieces at once. With some drinks, the total came to £119. In London, for the amount we ate and the fact that it genuinely was tasty, it’s a very good option.

If you've ever tried to escape the frantic energy of Oxford Street, you know how hard it can be to find a peaceful spot that's also genuinely great. Enter Kintan, a total gem tucked away on a quieter side street. It's the perfect place to unwind with some amazing food and even better vibes. The whole point of Kintan is that you're the master of your own grill, and let me tell you, their setups are flawless. The heat is spot on, giving you a perfect sear every single time. And the meat? It looks so fresh I'm almost tempted to say it was still moo-ing just a few minutes ago, but hey, don't just take my word for it! Seriously, you've got to see for yourself. And the staff? Absolute legends. They're attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to love what they do, which makes the entire experience so much more enjoyable. It's that kind of service that makes you want to come back again and again. What's really sweet is that this top-notch quality doesn't come with a crazy price tag. Kintan is super affordable, especially for the experience you get. Plus, they have icy-cold Asahi on tap, which is pretty much the perfect pairing for some perfectly grilled meat. Whether you check out the Holborn or the Oxford Circus location, you're in for a treat. Both branches deliver the same fantastic service and delicious food, so you can't go wrong. Get ready to grill, eat, and have a blast!

I was here last Easter, but I normally need to go to another restaurant that is the same as this restaurant in London, so this is the reason I knew this restaurant. I went here today because every money has the happy hour discount, and I recommend people come on Monday. Also, their have the happy hour every dad, but the happy hour is limited before 6 pm and after 9 pm, so it may be too early and too late for you. The food quality are very good and nice, but one thing that made me feel disappointed is that they informed me that the stoves were not in use, that affected me without the food set. Because they were not to order the foods which is cooked foods in this dining experience. But the whole food quality and the staff were good for my opinion. I hope they can improve their cooking equipment. Also, I recommend that although they don't allow me to order the set dinner because they informed them, they can give me the set without cooked foods. But they can substitute cooked food with alternatives to allow customers to order the set dinner. Also, I recommend the fried apple dumplings for dessert after BBQ.

Kintan Japanese BBQ at Oxford Circus is amazing! I had the All You Can Eat Silver menu, and it was absolutely worth it. The food was fresh, flavorful, even after Christmas time (I was there on 27 December). The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, ensuring everything went smoothly. It’s the perfect place for a fun dining experience with great food. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Japanese BBQ!

Amazing food! For the quality of the meats, it is very good value for money. If you come with 3-4 people the Samurai Set is perfect and fills everyone up! Definitely worth going during ‘Happy Hour’ as prices are cheaper for food and drinks.

Is a really nice restaurant with excellent quality. Most of the meat we ordered need to be cooked by ourselves which is expected as this is a Yakiniku Japanese Barbecue. Most foods are fine and I definitely recommend are the skirt steaks, premium rib eye and the pork Kalbi shio, the Bibimbap is also quite delicious. I think one of the best features in this restaurant is the Happy Hour feature. In this restaurant Happy Hour is a feature that most sets and dishes will have a discounted saving price during off-peak hours in this restaurant will have a Happy Hour price during entire Monday and on Tuesday to Sunday is during 11:30-18:00 and 21:00 to till restaurant closes. The only dish I would avoid and not order again is the beef tongue, is very hard to chew and bland even with the sauce, also it is a little overpriced as there isn’t a lot of it as it also doesn’t have the Happy Hour price.Overall is a restaurant worth going if you’re in Oxford Circus.

Recommending this restaurant to all my friends and family!!! 🌟 Silver all you can eat, £50pp (plus 12.5% service charge) 🎁 On Boxing Day, I brought my date here (he was craving all you can eat and he’s never had Japanese bbq before). We were seated in the basement, in a little “room”, giving us private space to enjoy the meal. ⏱️ You might notice on the menu that says “each guest may order a maximum of 2 items at a time and must finish consuming their previous order before ordering their next round”. This meant that we could order 4 dishes every time. In practice, however, we were allowed to place our next order when the food from the previous order arrived. The portions were generous, so we started to feel full at around the 1-hour mark. Two hours for the whole meal is definitely more than enough! 🍖 What we had: takoyaki x4 (recommend!), chicken gyoza x2, crispy seaweed x2, miso soup x2, french fries, steamed rice, flat iron, hanger steak x3, kachi short rib, butter garlic short rib, yaki-shabu beef x2 (highly recommend!!!), toro beef (x2), pork kalbi, Japanese styled sausage, butter corn 🚒 Halfway through our meal, the gauze burnt and caught fire. The staff were very helpful and replaced it with a new one. 🍶 Our only suggestions for improvement are: (1) provide a jar of tap water for the table, instead of having to ask for water every 15 minutes, you know how quickly you get thirsty, and (2) make sure the restaurant is stocked with enough tong. 💖 Shoutout to Chesa for the amazing service! Merry Christmas to you xx

Came here for the first time with some friends who had been here before and recommended the place, and I must say I was more than just blown away. We got 2 Meat Lover's Specials to share between 4 people, and the amount and especially the quality of the meat that was given to us was exceptional, from the beef to the chicken to the pork, everything was super tasty and fresh and the grilling process is really fun aswell! To drink we got some sake and a pitcher of Asahi. The Asahi was crisp and the sake was really good aswell. For our dessert we tried the Apple Gyozas and the Green Tea Tiramisu, and both were a really nice way to end our meal. I would definitely recommend coming here if you're a fan of meat and good quality food in general. I will definitely be back to try the all you can eat next time.

It was my first time trying Kintan and I was pleasantly surprised. For starters I ordered the Takoyaki and Ebi Furai, for meats I ordered the Duck Breast and Kalbi Short Rib and everything was lovely. I also ordered the Beef Bibimbap which lacked seasoning so I asked for salt and it was perfect. Only complaint was the chicken garlic noodles which was disappointing in presentation and in flavour, my friend regretted ordering it because she could not eat it. Overall, service was good and everything came out very quickly. Looking forward to coming back!

Great restaurant and the interaction with cooking your own food over the grill. Went for the Kintan set menu for 4 people and it was more than enough for everyone! As always the Premium Harami Skirt Steak Miso is 🤌🏾. Highly recommend.

This Japanese BBQ spot stands out as one of the best in town — every cut of meat was high-quality, flavorful, and grilled to perfection. It’s the kind of place that reminds you how satisfying yakiniku can be when done right. The prices reflect the premium quality, and in our opinion, it's well worth it. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The atmosphere gave off a comforting, no-frills Asian vibe — casual yet cozy, perfect for enjoying a relaxed dinner with friends or family. A true hidden gem for meat lovers.

Really entertaining family dinner. Staff were all very friendly. We were visited by the General Manager Sushil to check if we were enjoying our dinner. The set meal we had was fantastic!!! We all loved the beef bowl!! It was really fun because you get to cook your own meat. And in the end we have the smores dessert.

Excellent Japanese barbecue. Great dishes and very reasonable prices even on the ala carte options. Very crowded on a weekend. The servers tried their best but they can be quite overwhelmed at times. It also makes for a less cozy atmosphere when it’s so crowded. It doesn’t help too that the barbecue is in the basement. Overall, good experience. Excellent food for excellent price.

We visited as a large group and had a great experience. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was top notch. The server was a lady in the pink top who handled our pre-ordered food perfectly. The whole team was friendly and amazing .

Great food, boyfriend took me there on Valentine’s Day and we had the silver all you can eat. The beef is incredible! Unfortunately, it’s quite chilly in there (I’m assuming the air con must be on because of the bbqs). Other than this definitely a great place to eat, we will be back.

Great food for sure. Lovely barbecue options for people. A lot of veggie options too. But felt quite oppressive inside. Felt like it was in a dungeon. Low levels of lighting and really felt a bit depressing the atmosphere inside. Over all good was good and the location was easy to find too. But I think going once there is good. I won’t return again.

Got there we was waiting upstairs for 10 mins had to go down to get tell someone we here for our booking ! Got sat down and order food but portions of food are tiny not even enough to fill one person. Drinks were good.

Visited on Sunday and ordered the family brunch course. The course is good value for money with 4 beef dishes, one chicken, two seafoods, one bibimbap and two vegetables. The only area that was not up to standard is the service. They have a lot of staff but looked busy all the time. I tried to place an order twice - the first time I talked to the lady who arranged the table. She said she will ask someone to come but at the end no one came to take our order. Then I talked to another female staff who for some reasons just walked away quickly after getting my order. But it seems like she didn’t take my order because she didn’t turn on the grill. So after a while a (Japanese) staff approached us and checked if we had ordered foods. I then told her I wasn’t too sure. She then turned on the grill for us and said she would double check for us. But overall I will visit the restaurant again

It was a pleasant experience. The food was amazing, prices aren’t cheap but ok for a special occasion. For first-timers, the menu and ordering system can be a bit confusing. Our first waitress ( she) wasn’t very engaging and left us to figure things out ourselves, so it took a few attempts to get help. Other than that, it’s a nice spot with great food 4 min salk from Oxford street station. Reservation saved us from the queue.

L
Leona Maneechak

Food was great. Had the all you can eat. So many choices but a limit of ordering 2 per person and you can’t order again until that plate is finished. It’s expensive but worth it. Veggies were good too. The staff were pretty attentive and kind.

This is such a nice place, food is gorgeous and on a Monday it has reduced prices. However, when we arrived we told the lady on the front desk we didn't have a reservation, she looked at her iPad, looked up, didn't say a thing and moved to someone else who came in after us. Not the best welcome. She came back to us after seating someone else and took us to our table. Nice table. Nice atmosphere. Slightly busy but not full. After waiting some time we got the attention of some waiting staff and ordered. Our sake arrived and I said to the server that our sake glasses weren't very clean, please could she replace them. The ones we got back weren't that much better. The food was very nice, we ordered a selection of meat and none meat. The prices were exceptionally reasonable, especially so with the Monday discounts.I would really recommend this restaurant but the service does need addressing unfortunately.

If you never tried Japanese BBQ, you're in for a treat. We went for the Kintan "all you can eat Gold". I'm not really an "all you can eat" kind of guy, but the menu card is overwhelming, and this being my first visit to the Kintan, and I wouldn't miss out on the variety of delicious meat. With the Gold menu, you're able to order the USDA Premium Kaldi Short Rib (100 g per person) and the USDA Premium Harami Skirt Steak (100 g per person), which is not on the Silver menu. So my wife, our son 15 (yrs) and I digged right into 300 g of USDA Premium Kaldi Short Rib (Gold menu) and 300 g of USDA Premium (Gold menu), Harami Skirt Steak, Chicken Karaage, Ebi Furai (2 per person Gold menu), Chicken Gyoza and spicy pork. On top of that, streamed rice and garlic fried rice (Gold menu). Looking back on our first serving in writing, we really made a BIG rookie mistake. So after our first serving, we were STUFFED. Being really stubborn, and afraid of missing out, we went for a second serving. This time Tiger Prawns (Gold menu), Spicy Addicting Cabbage and Sliced Ribeye (this time ordering in portions for one). Don't get carried away, like we did. The meat is so tender and well flavoured - it literally melts in your mouth. Ask for smaller portions, and taste them all. I think it's hard to say if the Gold menu is worth the extra 10£ - I'll leave that up to you to decide. All you can eat or not, Kintan is absolutely worth a visit.

A great Japanese tabletop bbq restaurant in London. They had a good range of selections on the menu which are decent priced. Located near Oxford Circus station. The service was ok, friendly staff and the venue is decent with a casual vibe. I would definitely recommend this place if you fancy some good Japanese bbq! Perfect for catch-ups with friends/colleagues and dates.

I’ve heard so much great things about this place and my boyfriend took me here on a Sunday afternoon which was also happy hour so that was great. Entrance - During the day it’s hard to find as from the outside looking in it looks like a ran down Chinese shop, it could do with better decor but when we left it was darker so I took pics and it looked a lot better. There was also no one at the main desk so we was standing there for a while waiting to be greeted but someone eventually came! Food - Food was to die for. I even took some home. It’s nice because you don’t have to wait long because you’re cooking it yourself at your own pace so it was delicious. I also ordered some vegetable garlic noodles which were AMAZING! So so tasty! The ribeye steak was chef kissing good and the spicy chicken was sooo good and well seasoned! Drinks - my partner and I ordered a beer called Asahi and it was really nice we ordered 2 each. I also ordered a coke with a slice of lemon. It did take FOREVER to come though. We ordered it and saw the drinks sitting at the bar for ages and got it 15 mins later. It might have been busy but even so. I was so tempted to just go up and get it myself. Decor - Decor was nice, very modern and sharp. I wouldn’t change anything about it. Cleanliness - Very clean, the toilets were also very clean too. Customer service - Customer service was good, everyone was super friendly. I do feel it lacked staff as I could see everyone running around like headless chickens but otherwise, good. Everyone was pleasant. Overall - It was a great experience, my first time cooking my own meal at a restaurant, I would definitely return.

The food was incredible. They have set menus that allow to enjoy a great variety of different things and in a good quantity. Most of the food you grill yourself and it's quite fun. A bit on the price-y side but it's both good quality and quantity. The restaurant itself looks good but the music was extremely loud, like in a club, too much.

I went to celebrate a birthday and we had the Ninja set menu. The food was very good, good portions for 2 people, and it is always fun to grill it yourself. I would say that I think it was a little bit more expensive than it should have been. The service was brilliant! The food came super quickly and when we had empty plates they were cleared so quickly we sometimes didn't realise they had been taken away! The servers were friendly and sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. It would have been nice if someone came around every now and again to fill up our water glasses, but you could always ask a server so it wasn't too much of an issue. There wasn't really much decoration/atmosphere and the cushion didn't seem to be fixed to the booth so if you sat on the edge you would tip over. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, and the most important parts (food and service) were great.

The taste is good but a bit overpriced. Highly recommend the set meal which is better valued. The matcha ice cream tasted very nice.

We used to come here a lot for the happy hour and the food was always great however it feels like this place is slowly becoming more and more chaotic. Upon arrival we were seated on the stickiest table with equally sticky menus, these are laminated for ease of cleaning but it seems that’s not a priority anymore. We were told we didn’t qualify for happy hour despite only being 8 mins before 9pm. We accepted this but in turn were served the TINEST portion of chicken that had even the staff confused at first. £7 for 3 cubes of chicken? Is this the wagu of chickens? We kindly asked about it and Management swapped it out for an equally small 3 cubes explaining something about it being a busy Friday? Finally we got more meat as we’re still hungry only to receive a spicy version which wasn’t even listed on the menu? Good thing I’m intolerant to spice not allergic. The younger members of staff do a great job of being super polite and handling awkward situations professionally. We told them they shouldn’t feel bad when we flagged it but rather a review of the kitchen staff and management is clearly needed. Having worked in hospitality for over 18 years I know how hard it can get but it really does feel a shame to see this place falling apart at the seams..

K
Kareem Nishkor

Food - the meat was far less fatty than other BBQ places which in my opinion, is a good thing. There should have been more dipping sauces available - only 2. Service - terrible. If only I could give zero stars. Definitely British level service and not Japanese. Staff were openly rude to us on a few occasions - having a go at us for not turning off the BBQ (that’s the staffs job to do when they collected our empty plates), rude when we complained they obviously forgot to add alcohol to a cocktail, and rude when we asked for some water. The food was plonked down on the table like we were an inconvenience. The miso soup came with a ramen spoon… it would have been nice to have a lid for the miso soup bowl as is expected in Japan. We were also overcharged significantly - check your bill carefully before paying as they put the wrong order on ours making it £20 more than it should have been. Atmosphere - staff made it bad. They need training and maybe a trip to Japan to see how it should be done. If a restaurant in the UK is suggesting they are serving authentic Japanese cuisine, they should make sure the cuisine and the service is actually authentic.

I’m a regular customer here, but our last visit was disappointing. Toward the end of the meal, the staff rushed us, and when they came to clear the dishes, they wordlessly gestured with their hands for us to move the plates on our side. It felt quite rude and unprofessional. They also asked us to pay while we were still eating dessert even though they were the ones who offered the dessert menu. I understand that people were waiting outside, but customers should still be treated properly. I wanted to celebrate my friend’s special day here, but she told me she won’t be coming back because of this unpleasant experience.

This is my go to spot to enjoy good food. Yet recently the portions of gochjuang are much smaller when served with the beef rice bowl which adds to the flavour. The harami skirt steak also tastes different. It is a shame as the setting is gorgeous, service good yet food has decreased in taste and sizes.

Not the first time coming to Kintan. Food amazing, smaller portion compared to last time. Poor service, lack of staff. I made a booking in advance, but still wait for 10mins at the entrance in order to get in. Wait another 10mins in order to get food ordered. The craziest part is, I have to wait 15mins to get dessert.... No idea why dessert takes so long. Also another 5mins for take away box... I have to walk all the way to the kitchen to ask staff to come to my table. To be honest, staffs are quite efficient, but 2-3 staffs are not enough to handle 20+ tables... People sitting next to me finished 1 hour ago and the table has not been cleaned when we left. Probably due to lack of staff. We came for lunch on Tuesday, which shouldn't be that busy. I can't imagine how long I have to wait when I come at peak hours...

I loved the food and cocktails here - great flavours and high quality meat! But the service was terrible - we asked for tap water for the table 3 times then on the 4th ask, we were told they do not give jugs to small tables and then they proceeded to only give us one small cup of water for the whole night - the servers kept disappearing and were slow to bring each round, which disrupted the flow of eating and ordering - at one stage, our main server was gone for 20 minutes when we were ready to order our next round of food and drinks, meaning we left the restaurant a lot later than anticipated - very disappointing as I was excited to come here.

Service started poorly and unfortunately never recovered. Kintan has been one of my favourite restaurants for a long time, which made this visit especially disappointing. The decline was entirely due to service. I was seated but not given a menu for over 15 minutes. I placed a food and drink order while waiting for my friend to arrive, and once she did, a female manager took our order. Our food arrived in inconsistent intervals, with several dishes missing altogether, and there were no check-backs to address this. It was difficult to enjoy the meal when half of the items arrived more than 15 minutes after the rest. Attempting to get the attention of staff was also unnecessarily difficult. The manager on duty (Neteya?) was largely absent and did not appear engaged with the floor. When the bill arrived, it was the only thing that came promptly. We asked for the service charge to be removed, but the server attempted to process full payment regardless, requiring us to repeat the request. Throughout the evening, we noticed staff frequently gathered together laughing and chatting. While some banter is understandable, it becomes frustrating when guests are struggling to receive basic service. Under those circumstances, it’s not surprising to be asked to remove the service charge. When I requested to speak with the manager, I saw the server inform her, and her reaction made it clear she was disinterested in addressing the situation. The food itself was delicious and would have been enjoyable if served in a timely manner. The only standout was a tall Asian woman with a bob haircut and glasses, who was attentive and professional. Overall, the experience was a genuine disappointment.

I used to love this restaurant – the food was tasty and reasonably priced. However, during our recent visit, we were alarmed to discover multiple mouse traps placed throughout the dining area. My kids were curious and tried to inspect one, not realizing what it was. When I raised the concern with the staff, they dismissed it, claiming it was “just a safety feature” and that everything was fine. I had to escalate the matter to the manager over the phone to be taken seriously. This experience has made me very uneasy about the restaurant’s hygiene and safety standards. I plan to follow up with the local council regarding this issue. It’s disappointing to see a place I used to enjoy put customers, especially children, at potential risk.

Today I went to eat there. Normally I go there at least twice a month but today it was strange. The food came much faster than usual. I ordered 4 BBQ set and Spicy Salmon volcano and Spicy Tofu. Today the Spicy salmon volcano seemed to be spoiled, a little sour and the spicy tofu looked weird. The rice that came with the set seemed to be felt overnight and reheated. Today I was very disappointed. I usually order these dishes whenever I come to this restaurant.

The atmosphere was fine and the food was tasty. The portion was a little small I think but I understand this is normal for these kinds of places. I felt we spent quite a lot. I would have enjoyed my experience if it weren’t for the staff. We had to ask several times for things we already ordered. Even something simple like tap water. I struggled to get my items. And I struggled to get the bill. I came 5pm on a Tuesday, it wasn’t busy at all. I kept trying to get the staff’s attention with eye contact and so many times they walked right by my table and refused to make eye contact. They never checked on us. We left our empty water glasses at the table and they did not refill them. We were there for over an hour. I’m really quite frustrated with my experience, the staff felt quite rude like they didn’t want to be there and they definitely didn’t want to serve us. I was surprised because we were quite quiet and polite and always saying please and thank you. I don’t feel like we deserved this nonchalant neglectful attitude

I wish I’d read the reviews before coming here. Like many recent posts have voiced, the service was terrible. Food was ok but largely delayed with dishes missing that we had to keep chasing. Our first order also was burnt due to no fault of our own as one of the servers I managed to flag down admitted for some reason that our grill wasn’t oiled at all so the meat was getting stuck so he had to replace it. He did replace it but didn’t replace the meat so not to waste food we had to eat the burnt remains of the initial meat. Staff avoided your gaze and seemed disinterested to help. But when asking for the bill, yes that arrives quickly. I even tried emailing and sending a message on their Facebook page since their contact form isn’t working on their website, and never heard back. Such a shame as it sounds like they were once a good bbq restaurant.

There was no problem with the food at all. The entire issue was with the staff. In particular, there was a man who I believe was the manager. He was Asian, I can’t remember his name, but he was extremely rude. Even though we were only two people, our table was already very full. We took a short break from eating and he came over asking if we wanted to order anything else. We had already placed our order, yet he kept coming to our table in a very intrusive manner, repeatedly pressuring us to order more. Towards the end of the meal, my cocktail was still not finished. I said they could clear the table, but I was still drinking. Immediately, they brought the bill as if to make us leave right away. It was extremely uncomfortable. At that moment, my bag was open and one unused iqos cigarette fell on the floor. The man instantly came over and kept telling me to pick it up. While I was still gathering my other belongings, he forcefully put the cigarette into my hand. If he had not behaved in such a disgusting, I would have picked it up myself while collecting my things anyway. He shoved the cigarette into my hand even though there was a trash bin right next to us. It was an extremely bad experience. I absolutely do not recommend this place.

Dear Management Team, I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the service my group received at your restaurant today. We visited as a group of 12 guests and booked a table from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We selected the Silver set menu (buffet-style). Unfortunately, the overall service was extremely poor. Firstly, the food was very slow to arrive. Although we were told that the dining time was strictly limited to two hours, the food only started arriving almost 30 minutes after our booking time, which significantly reduced our actual dining time. We understood the time policy and did not complain at that point. However, as it approached 9:00 PM, the staff began to rush us aggressively, repeatedly telling us that our time was up. Some staff members displayed very inappropriate and rude behavior, which made our dining experience uncomfortable and unpleasant. Additionally, when it came time to pay, the bill was incorrect and overcharged. Although a service charge was included, we were still willing to pay and remained polite, as our total food spending was over £800. The most disappointing moment occurred after payment, during a very busy period. We politely asked a staff member to help take a group photo. The male Asian staff member, slim build, showed clear displeasure through his facial expressions and attitude, which we found highly unprofessional and unacceptable—especially considering that a service charge had been applied. We strongly believe that basic courtesy and professionalism should be expected, particularly when customers are paying a service charge. This experience did not reflect the level of service we anticipated from your restaurant. We hope you will take this feedback seriously and use it to improve staff training and service standards. Our intention is not to create conflict, but to ensure that future customers do not experience the same issues. Thank you for your time and attention. We look forward to your response.

This place was good when first opened, and was a very pleasant experience for decent yakiniku that was welcomed by many among the London Japanese community. These days the staff are in no rush to serve and occasionally rude, and the food quality definitely not worth the very high price. My worst experience of the place came last week when I didn’t get to eat; a reservation I had confirmed by both Kintan and Google was not recognised at the restaurant, and the entrance staff did nothing to try to get me a table or compensate me for the error in any other way. I even got the “yeah fine whatever” when telling them I was being forgotten. It will be very difficult to return to this restaurant after this incident. I am only leaving this review after Kintan failed to acknowledge my complaint through their website or social media contacts.

Very disappointing experience at Kintan Oxford Circus. We had a confirmed reservation for 9 people for a special occasion. Despite booking in advance, we were initially seated at a table suitable for only 5 guests. Staff insisted it was appropriate, which it clearly was not. When the rest of our group arrived, single chairs were awkwardly added, and only after 15–20 minutes were we finally moved to a suitable table. Service throughout the evening was extremely slow and disorganised. Drinks took 20–25 minutes to arrive and were delivered inconsistently, with only part of the table served initially. Food orders were taken late, arrived incorrectly, and required correction. No meaningful apology or service recovery was offered. On a previous visit, we were also overcharged for a drink that was never ordered or received, and a service charge was not removed despite clearly requesting this due to poor service. When raising these issues with management, a manager named (SUSHIL) agreed to a £55 refund to compensate for the service and billing issues. However, during a later visit, another manager, NAFISA , approached our table in a rude and dismissive manner, repeatedly stating that the £55 refund would only be applied “this time” and that there would be no discount next time, misrepresenting the refund as a discretionary favour rather than compensation. We were then told that we did not need to pay our bill and that the restaurant would no longer serve us in the future. Despite this, we chose to pay the bill voluntarily, deducting the agreed £55, simply to end the situation calmly and without further confrontation. This is particularly disappointing given that members of our group have been loyal customers for over two years, spending over £10,000, and we ourselves have spent over £1,000 in just two months. Poor service, poor management handling, and a complete lack of respect for loyal customers. We expected far better.

Terrible experience. I ate the £60 all you can eat option and was charged nearly £75, after being treated like a criminal for leaving around three vegetables of leftover food. I've never been to somewhere so overpriced and of the worst quality, with such rude service. The non Asian lady without glasses and the Asian lady with the iPad working with the front were incredibly rude. First of all the Asian lady with the iPad glared at me and just walked away after I asked for the cheque (?). After I told the non Asian waitress I had an important commitment and required the cheque, she rudely said, you have to finish your food. I said another member of the group would finish the two or three vegetables we had left on the plate, and the non Asian lady scoffed and ignored me for around 10 minutes. Then finally I asked again for the cheque, and she brought it with a very bad attitude. Throughout the meal we also had to ask multiple times for one change of the grill after it was completely burnt. Around two hours later, I got food poisoning from the meat (which was overseasoned, hard to chew, and did not taste fresh). An overall terrible experience and I would not recommend!
