Opinions de Heddon Street Kitchen London
We had a great experience at Heddon Street Kitchen, largely thanks to Yeasin. His service was outstanding from start to finish — extremely attentive, friendly, and professional. He looked after us the entire time, made excellent wine recommendations, and genuinely made us feel welcome. You can tell he really cares about the customer experience. Huge thanks to Yassin for making our visit even better. We’ll definitely be back!
What a phenomenal experience! We visited on a busy Saturday night, and from the moment we arrived, the entire evening was seamless. 🎶 Atmosphere & Service The atmosphere was lovely and buzzing, perfectly complemented by the great music. We were promptly seated thanks to our reservation, and the service was nothing short of super friendly from the front door to the final check. Everyone was quick to seat us, take our cocktail order, and deliver our starter. 🍸 Drinks & Culinary Highlights The cocktails were a fantastic start! The Sweet Caroline is a must-try—it was a truly complex and delicate drink, offering so many layers of flavour with a perfect sweet and sour punch from the raspberries. The Pear and Rhubarb Mule was also refreshing; the pear was lovely, though the ginger beer flavour was quite strong. We came for the main event, the Beef Wellington, and it absolutely delivered! It was incredibly filling (definitely come hungry!), with a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak and a super thick, rich, and flavourful mushroom duxelles. However, I have to say, the sides truly stole the show! The potatoes were so smooth with an amazing buttery taste, and the carrots were absolutely phenomenal. I would genuinely come back just for those vegetables alone! Even the simple things like the mayonnaise and ketchup served with the fries were the best I’ve ever had. 💸 Value While not inexpensive, the £230 bill for two sides, the Beef Wellington, two cocktails, and a carafe of red wine felt like a fair deal for the exceptional quality of the food, the location, and, of course, the name.
We had a great time in Heddon Street Kitchen, while celebrating my birthday. Yeasin was a great waiter! The food was delicious, portions are quite large. I was also surprised with a birthday ice cream which was a nice gesture. Would definitely recommend this place.
Heddon Street Kitchen truly surprised me in the best way. The atmosphere felt warm and festive — the kind of place where you instantly relax the moment you walk in. But the highlight of my visit was the service. Chris was incredible — genuinely kind, attentive, and so easy to talk to. He made the whole evening feel special without trying too hard. It’s the kind of service you remember, and the reason you want to come back. Good food, beautiful space, and service that actually makes you feel valued. Would definitely return. ✨
On honeymoon from getting married now wife found Heddon Street Kitchen. Her being the foodie knew exactly what we were getting into. Me, knowing nothing was in for a great surprise. Atmosphere was excellent lightning was perfect for a intimate experience. Service was excellent by Yasien and taking care of us. Funny friendly and always there to check on the food made it a wonderful experience. We had the Butter Chicken a great comfort food or so I thought until the sticky pudding came out which I have never had before. The only way I can explain how it tasted and felt is simply home. We actually made reservations for two days later to try some other dishes. It was also wonderful meeting Thea who definitely made the experience wonderful by taking the time to come congratulate us on our wedding. Come for the food stay for the staff and leave feeling satisfied.
I had a fantastic experience at Heddon Street Kitchen. The food was excellent, but what truly made the evening special was the outstanding service. Yasin and Louisa were absolutely brilliant — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to anticipate our needs, and made us feel truly looked after from start to finish. Their professionalism combined with a friendly, natural touch really elevated the whole dining experience. It’s rare to find service that feels this effortless and sincere. Huge thanks to Yasin and Louisa for making our visit memorable. We’ll definitely be back.
Yeasin and Christian were fantastic!! Would come back just to see them! We got the Ceasar which had some of the best homemade dressing I have had in a long time. Drinks were lovely. We had some Sicilian Spritz, some G+Ts and Bordeaux. The beef Wellington with the red wine au jus was worth the wait.
I recently visited this restaurant with friends, and I’ll admit I arrived with a bit of hesitation—expectations tend to run high with places like this. However, I quickly realized I had nothing to worry about. The Beef Wellington was exceptional, the wine recommendation was spot on, and the service truly elevated our experience. A special mention goes to Tibor, who went above and beyond to provide warm, friendly, and highly professional service. Thanks to him, our evening felt genuinely special. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
We visited Heddon Street Kitchen for a joint birthday present to ourselves and we were not disappointed. We visited on a Saturday afternoon with a reservation time of 13:30. From the moment we walked in we were looked after in a calm, polite, fun and attentive way. The staff were informative and were not pushy or pretentious. We had Prawn Cocktail and Wagyu Meatballs for starters, followed by a Chicken Caesar Salad and Slow Cooked Pork Ribs. All of the dishes were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Tibor looked after us throughout our visit and was friendly, attentive and gave great advice regarding food and wine pairings. There were families with young children in the restaurant as well and we could see that they all appeared to be having a great time. The concept of children being able to eat for free is brilliant. I am not sure of the maximum age and conditions of this. I would thoroughly recommend eating at Heddon Street Kitchen and we have added it to our list of favourite restaurants.
Just had dinner here and it was so good. Everyone was so friendly and kind, checking on our food and drinks and just so patient. My table ordered the beef wellington, chicken parmigiana and sirloin. I personally ate the chicken and it was so juicy and tender. Everything complimented each other well. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. We were primarily seen by Angie, who was amazing on our table and presented everything amazingly. This has been one of my favourite experiences in a restaurant and I highly recommend people eat here. The ambience, the lighting, the decor, everything is on point to allow a pleasant evening with company.
I had the Beef Wellington course at Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon restaurant. The food was excellent, and Yeasim Julia’s attentive service and clear explanations made the experience even more special. It was the best meal I had during my stay in the UK, and I would happily return.
I went into Heddon Street Kitchen expecting a perfectly decent meal, but nothing particularly memorable. It is, after all, one of the more affordable and laid back restaurants in the Ramsay group. What I can say is that I was genuinely surprised by just how good the food was. Every dish across our table of six was consistently excellent. We started by sharing several starters including the Tamarind Spiced Chicken Wings, Wagyu Meatballs, Prawn Salad, and the Chorizo and Piquillo Pepper Flatbread. The flatbread was effectively a small pizza and was very enjoyable, while the Wagyu Meatballs were rich, tender and served in a cheese sauce that was nothing short of spectacular. The chicken wings were another standout and one of my friends said they were the best he had ever eaten. For my main, I had the duck leg confit which was cooked perfectly. The braised red cabbage and red wine jus brought so much depth to the dish and the staff recommended pairing it with the creamy mash. This was absolutely the right choice. We also shared a side of the mac and cheese which had a fantastic crumb topping for added texture. I tried some of a friend’s slow cooked pork ribs too and the sauce struck a great balance between sweetness and smoky BBQ. Others at the table ordered the Idiot Sandwich and the Butter Chicken Curry which both went down extremely well. Service throughout the evening was warm, attentive and well paced. The ambience also worked nicely. Even though the restaurant is dimly lit, it suits the setting and helps create a relaxed, cosy atmosphere. My only critique is that the main menu is relatively small with only 12 mains to choose from, and might not be the best if you're with a group of fussy eaters but considering the five mains our group selected all went down well, I wouldn't say this is a problem at all! Overall this was incredible value for money and far better than I expected. I would happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in the area.
An unforgettable Christmas Eve dining experience. The Beef Wellington was flawless — once tasted, impossible to forget. Excellent value for money, with a warm, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. No need for formal attire, and very family-friendly. Highly recommended.
The best food and BEST server Yeasin! Food came out so quickly and was some of the best food I’ve had during my trips to London. Yeasin was such a fun time and was knowledgeable about the menu and even recommended drinks to each person at the table.
This is a Gordon Ramsey Restaurant! There is nothing more you need to know. We had been waiting to try their Beef Wellington for a long time, and WOW! It does live up to its reputation. It's totally AMAZING!
Just had the Beef Wellington at Heddon Street Kitchen London— OMG 😍🥩! Tender, juicy beef wrapped in golden, flaky puff pastry, with rich mushroom duxelles. Service was super friendly and attentive by Yasin. Perfect spot for a night out, great food, and even better vibes.
Exactly what we expected ! First time for me in London, we wanted to taste a Gordon Ramsey restaurant. We were not disapointed ! Fine wine tasting, open kitchen, top service.
Absolutely a highlight of our London trip! Tia greeted us with incredible warmth, humor, and charm—she made the entire experience unforgettable. Every detail, from the food to the service and the atmosphere, was flawless. Our first visit to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant exceeded all expectations, and we left feeling completely amazed. Thank you, Tia, for making it so special…we can’t wait to come back!
We had such a nice dinner here and genuinely enjoyed every part of it. The food was great, but what really stood out was the service. Tibor and Yeasin were kind, relaxed, and made us feel very comfortable, it felt like we were really looked after, not just served. A special mention to bartender Jem for her funny, well made cocktail that added an extra smile to the evening, and to Virgil for his fun food delivery and great interactions that really lifted the whole experience.
We visited on wendsday afternoon and ordered from the set menu, food was really nice and well presented. Staff was excellent, definitely would come back
Heddon Street was a really fun restaurant and a lovely experience. Butter chicken was amazing and our server Yaesin was the best! He surprised us with a special treat for our recent nuptials which was so cute
We recently visited Heddon Street Kitchen and tried the set menu, and it was a great experience from start to finish. I had the cod bites to start, followed by the steak and then tiramisu. My partner went for the wings, sea bream and also tiramisu. The food was really well done – the cod bites were crisp and tasty, the steak was cooked beautifully, and my partner really enjoyed the sea bream. But the absolute standout for both of us was the tiramisu – hands down the best we’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and indulgent. Service was also excellent – friendly, attentive and made the whole evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, a brilliant meal and we’ll definitely be coming back, especially for that tiramisu!
Yeasin was very nice to us. The Wellington steak was perfectly cooked. The side dishes and appetizers are tasty. We loved it.
Came here from Copenhagen to try the Sunday Roast. Lovely experience, delicious food and excellent service. Our waiter for the evening Toshko was very attentive and kind. All in all an excellent Sunday evening.
Some people might think the beef Wellington is overpriced and it’s can only serve 2 people. Your completely wrong, you get a whole Wellington that can serve 4 adults and the Wellington tastes so good I can’t even describe how spectacular it is
Yeasin provided the excellent service and truly made our day! It was the best dinner I’ve had in London. I definitely recommend this restaurant because of his wonderful hospitality!
Four of us just enjoyed a fantastic lunch here at Heddon Street Kitchen, the salads were delicious and tasty, and two people who had the burgers remarked they were so tasty and satisfying. Go and check it out!
Great service and atmosphere in Heddon Street Kitchen! This was mh first time having beef wellington and it was an unforgettable memory. Also Ianut, the server was very nice.
Thanks to Yeasin for recommending the perfect Wellington steak set. The food was delicious and the service was great.
I had such a great time at Heddon Street Kitchen. The atmosphere is really cozy and welcoming, with a stylish touch that makes the whole place feel special without trying too hard. It’s the kind of spot where you instantly feel comfortable, whether you’re just grabbing a meal or celebrating something. The food was absolutely delicious. Every dish we had was full of flavor and beautifully presented. You can tell there’s real care in how everything is prepared. The drinks were also amazing and matched the food perfectly. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our waiter, Toshko, was incredible. So kind, friendly and genuinely attentive. He made us feel at home right away. Always available when we needed something and incredibly fast, but never rushed. He just got everything right. Honestly one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. It’s a place I’d definitely go back to and happily recommend to anyone.
Went out with my girlfriend tonight for the Beef Wellington experience, and it was a solid 10/10. The whole evening was 👌🏾—great atmosphere and even better food. Big shoutout to Chris for the top-notch service. We’ll definitely be coming back. Oh, and the sticky toffee pudding? Absolutely to die for.
We had heard that this restaurant is famous for its Beef Wellington, so my husband and I visited for Saturday dinner and we absolutely loved it! The food was outstanding. Yeasin and Chritin were our servers, and they were amazing. Their warm, attentive service truly made our experience even more special. This restaurant is not only exceptional for its food, but the service was equally impressive. We would definitely love to visit again the next time we come to London!
Had the seasonal menu- everything top notch. Those cod bites - wow- the best batter I’ve ever had and the umami chicken wings were delicious. Fab steaks cooked to perfection - everything marvellous. Lovely decor and friendly staff.
We went today to have a nice, tasty meal but this was just next Level. The Beef Wellington was phenomenal and our server Julia was the most wholesome person we ever met. Long story short amazing restaurant, really recommend!
We had such a nice dinner here and genuinely enjoyed every part of it. The food was great, but what really stood out was the service. Tibor and Yeasin were kind, relaxed, and made us feel very comfortable. It felt like we were really looked after, not just served.
I recently had dinner at Heddon Street Kitchen and it was a solid experience overall. The Beef Wellington was the highlight — perfectly cooked with rich red wine jus and creamy truffled mash. The fish and chips were crisp and nicely seasoned, and we also tried the chocolate fondant, which was indulgent without being too heavy. Service was attentive but relaxed, and the atmosphere felt lively yet comfortable. Not cheap, but it feels worth it for the quality.
Had a night out as a birthday present. A uniformly excellent experience. The food was amazing, the staff were exceptionally friendly, warm and welcoming and we had a wonderful evening. The Beef Wellington is world class! And I had one of the duck confit dishes as well. Would highly recommend, especially for special events - birthdays, anniversary's, Valentines day etc.
Heddon Street Kitchen delivers a fantastic dining experience right in the heart of London. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, making it equally great for a special occasion or a casual meal. The food is excellent—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Standout dishes were perfectly cooked and well-balanced, and the seasonal menu adds a nice touch. Service was attentive, friendly, and professional without feeling overbearing. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for great food, a lively setting, and a memorable meal. Definitely worth a visit.
Good quality food, generous portions. The pastry on the Wellington was a touch under baked. Amazing service from the staff! On the website it says there is a dresscode"smart casual", i saw people in track suits getting in.
Everything was great, from service to the food. Of course I had to go for the beef wellington, realistically it was fantastic however I over estimated how good it would be after wanting to have it here for several years. Didn’t drink much, had a nice beer and was water was kept topped up. The tuna tartar was good, so was the ice cream for afters.
Well located close to Regent Street. Nice place with other bars as well. Signature dish is beef wellington which was fantastic. Nice selection of wines. And a hidden gem - follow the “?” 😏
The atmosphere was lovely, and the beef and pastry were really good. The only part we didn’t quite enjoy was the duxelle, as it wasn’t really to our taste. Overall, it was still a nice experience.
We visited Heddon Street Kitchen for my friend’s birthday and had a table booked for 18:15. I was a bit sceptical beforehand due to some mixed reviews I had read, and unfortunately, our experience with the food did reflect many of those comments. On a positive note, the hostess was welcoming and friendly, and our waiter was genuinely lovely attentive, kind, and easy to talk to. The restaurant itself was very busy and full of energy, and the staff were clearly working hard and doing a good job under pressure. We ordered a selection of starters: carpaccio, meatballs, flatbread, and tuna tartare. The carpaccio and tuna tartare were good and enjoyable. However, the meatballs were very disappointing tasting like something you’d buy from a local shop, with little to no flavour. The flatbread was also underwhelming and felt like something easily made at home. For my main, I ordered the butter chicken curry, which was recommended by our waiter. Sadly, it was bland, and the chicken was overcooked. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my meal. While the service was strong and the atmosphere lively, the food simply wasn’t worth the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return, and this experience has made me a bit sceptical about trying other Gordon Ramsay restaurants in the future.
Was here for the London Restaurant Festival Beef Wellington menu on 21 Oct 2025; overall the meal was enjoyable with a clear, well-structured menu. I’m giving 2 stars for the food because the mushroom layer in the Wellington was extremely bitter; we ended up removing it to enjoy the rest of the dish, but the bitterness lingered and unfortunately became the main flaw of the evening. Dessert was excellent and almost rescued the meal, though the portion was surprisingly large and felt out of balance with the rest of the menu.
I am slow to write poor reviews. They mean a lot to the owners, and so many folks are crying-wolf. This being said, this was a standout experience for several unpleasant reasons on our recent trip to London. The atmosphere and location are fantastic, no question. Greeting/seating staff were friendly. Our server, unfortunately carries a large burden of this review. We were there for 3 hours and the only time I saw my server was when I literally had to stand and waive my arms to order another drink. I am NOT a service snob, but I do take issue with having to fight for attention to spend more money in an establishment. The sea bass was shockingly sub-par, with the skin both soft/undercooked and the overall temp under. The burger, with full admission, was fantastic. Not a great night. Hard to recommend when there are so many options, and a shake shack within walking distance.
Visited with my kids on Saturday night. Really nice atmosphere and lots of people around. The cauliflower and burrata were great starters, excellent flavour. Solid 5/5, would definitely recommend. But the Beef Wellington was a huge disappointment. A few issues: - No seasoning. Bland and lacking flavour. Feels like they make so many that quality control disappears. - No red wine jus brought to the table. We had to ask for it, and it arrived 25 minutes after the food. No apology either. Pretty surprising I have to ask for this when the dish costs £120. - The meat was also slightly under in few parts. My daughter had a smash burger, and the only real flavour it had was vinegar. Fries were great, though. So overall: great start, terrible finish. The service also dropped off. The staff member basically disappeared for the last half of our visit. Never again. Gordon, review your own restaurant next.
What an awful experience. Service is utterly poor . Not seen anything like this in london for a very long time . We ordered spicy nuts , olives and bread as a sharing starter. Really 3 minutes after ordering those our mains arrived . I later asked the server why was the case , and he simply replied “ those are not considered as starters “ . What a joke . An other thing . We ordered a decent bottle of Ribera del duero at £102.00 . The first one one was from 2019 … then we we ordered the second one it was as from 2020 . No one from the staff mentioned anything. I really think this place is a proper tourist trap . If you are a tourist in london please go and spend your money elsewhere . I will definitely never go there again . Just a bad experience . I give a review of 2 because my rib eye steak was nice ( only positive things ) . 2 of of my guests had the brisket sandwich and there comments were “ very average “ .
Dear Gordon, We were celebrating my sons 18th. We ordered Halal about 3 weeks in advance. We were served with the popular Wellington. The meat had a good cook but the pastry was raw in some places. We were also served meat and bread only. The wine made sauce replacement was not offered and it was not nice at all. The servers tried their best but his 18th won't ever come back. It was most dissapointing.
An absolute disgrace of a meal and nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a restaurant carrying Gordon Ramsay’s name. The starters were embarrassingly basic—no real skill, no finesse, and barely any actual cooking involved. The “carpaccio” was not carpaccio at all; it looked and tasted like leftover rare Sunday roast beef thrown on a plate with a few tinned artichokes and some artichoke purée. There was no truffle anywhere near it, despite it being advertised. It was misleading and lazy. My partner’s burrata was just as pathetic—no proper dressing, no thought, just ingredients dumped on a plate. Honestly, a child could have assembled it. The front-of-house experience was just as poor. We arrived on time and our table wasn’t ready, so we were left standing by the door for about 10 minutes like spare parts. No drinks offered, no attempt to make us comfortable, and no basic hospitality. There was an empty table opposite the kitchen that could easily have been used while we waited, but it remained unused all night. When we were finally seated, we were given an awkward corner bench with one square table pushed against one round table—something I’ve never seen done in hospitality. It’s basic knowledge that mixing table shapes like that creates an uncomfortable and impractical setup for dining, especially for a party of four. It felt amateurish and careless, and we had to ask to be moved immediately. For mains, we shared the Beef Wellington for two—what should have been the highlight of the meal. Instead, it was the final insult. The fillet had two thick, greasy tendons running through it, something any competent chef should have spotted before serving. The “creamy mashed potatoes” tasted like instant mash from a packet. What made it worse was that the waiter clearly noticed we weren’t eating, yet no one came over to ask if everything was okay or offer to fix the issue. There was no attempt to put things right or salvage the experience, which says a lot about how little they seem to care. About £500 later, we left hungry and completely ripped off. This place is a tourist trap trading on a famous name, with food and service nowhere near the price or reputation. Gordon Ramsay should be embarrassed to have his name attached to this. We will never return and would strongly advise others to avoid it
Service seriously lacking here on Valentine’s Day. Firstly had to argue with the lady manager who was adamant the kitchen was closed even though a previous gentleman assured us it would be open for our late arrival. After trying to shoo us away she finally came back and confirmed that the kitchen would take the order. Not a great start. After that, they barely came around to check on us. Had to wait forever to get first drinks, went through the entire appetiser with not even a water. Over £200 on a meal to struggle through with nothing to wash it down was disgraceful. No meal check, until almost done with mains we finally got their attention to chase the drinks. Turns out they forgot the second round entirely, so it came with our deserts. When the drink did come it was missing the fresh strawberries, but they said nothing. To just slyly skip ingredients clearly labelled on the menu without even a mention is insulting. To top it off the food was so so, nothing to shout about, and definitely not worth the price. Struggled to see how the wellington was £120 and the butter chicken tasted like any supermarket curry, just with better cuts of chicken. Didn’t expect to go to Gordon Ramsey to be left parched and ignored. London must be in trouble if this is what they now define as top end hospitality. Whole experience felt like an elaborate tourist trap. Had better service at Nando’s.
