Food was good and was nice to have air conditioning in the summer heat. We came for the cruffins (muffin + croissant 🥐) and was a unique dessert. We wound up getting all three of the flavors they had out. It wasn’t too heavy and was nice and sweat. You can stop to buy them if you don’t have a reservation. Well worth it to try something different.
A first time in this revamped establishment and i was very impressed. The food and beverage prices were exceedingly reasonable despite the inflationary pressures and the service, although not perfect, was still very good. Overall the experience was excellent with great flavours and wonderful textures in all the plates. The lamb i had was melt in the mouth tender and the gateaux was soft and silky too. I really can’t fault anything i had. Overall i would say that Richoux is certainly the best on the block and worth a visit if you happen to have the misfortune is being stuck in the crowds on Piccadilly.
Wow what a little gem in the heart of London. A family friendly restaurant that offers Michelin quality food but at reasonable prices. My wife and I enjoyed their Afternoon Tea offerings. The sandwiches were absolutely divine. I wish I could have more. The patisserie was absolutely delicious and once again we wanted more. A nice selection of teas which can be refilled. The scones were light and once again so delicious. The kids enjoyed the special of the day Halibut which was so good my son wanted another one and my other son enjoyed the sea bream. All cooked to perfection. We felt like trying their cod goujons which were great as well. The vibe in the restaurant is lively and the service was excellent especially Rhianna who was great. The chicken is Halal which is excellent for us Halal foodies. Would I return absolutely but this time for dinner.
Absolutely worth the visit and bill! The afternoon tea set was fully a tasting adventure, not even slightly a tourist trap in otherwise so Piccadilly. We loved the fillings in sandwiches, wide range of sweet bites and freshly made scones..
Can't fault the food, service and setting. Went with family of four and we all enjoyed our dishes. Starters were great (I really enjoyed the onion soup), steak and lamb dishes were cooked exactly as requested and seasoned well, the sides complimented the mains and the desserts were spot on; scones were fresh, apple tart was moorish, and the chocolate cake velvety but not overly rich. Comfortable, with pretty seating booths which give privacy but don't detract from the buzz of the restaurant. Friendly and professional service.
This was the first stop on the trending croissant tour on social media and honestly it goes downhill from this own. It just raised the bar TOO high. The service was great, the decor, the atmosphere, and ofc the cruffins 😍😍, we had a pot of tea and tried three flavours, the best was the white chocolate and caramel flavour. We saw people having afternoon tea here, will be back for that for sure!
It’s a beautiful cafe/restaurant. Pastries are really tasty and nice and fresh. Staff are friendly and lovely. We had cinnamon rolls and coffee and tea and some extras which they all were delicious. I exceptionally liked the cinnamon rolls the most. Different to every other ones that I have tried before! We were lucky to find a seat outside when the weather was amazing and the view was enjoyable. 😊
The best coffee shop/ restaurant in London. The service is excellent, the pastries incredible and the best cup of Earl Grey tes anywhere. We had an incredible visit there. I highly recommend this little gem.
Serendiptiy! What a wonderful restaurant. My wife and I visited Richoux for dinner and what a nice surprise we had. We started with a Crispy Duck salad that was amazing - crispy bits of duck in greens with a lovely dressing. I could easily have eaten another one! We also had the Jumbo Prawn Coctail that had a good portion of plump prawns with greens and a marie rose sauce - delicious. For our mains we both had the rib eye steak, cooked to a perfect medium rare, one with peppercorn sauce and the other with bearnaise sauce. Very very good! To wash it down we had a bottle of Chateau de Gardegan which was suggested by our server and it was delicious. I had ordered a more expensive wine which was unfortunately not available and to his credit our server (I cant remember his name!) suggested the Gardegan which was £20 cheaper than my original order. Excellent service! For dessert we had the white chocolate cruffin which was light and tasty, just right after a nice steak. We also had a more robust Apple Tarte Tatin that our server warned us was enough for two - he was right! It was delicious and we managed to polish it off relatively easily. Freshly made coffees to finish off our lovely evening. The service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Just right. The prices were really good value, and dare I say it - compared with London prices - cheap! If you can get a rib eye steak (£19.95) anywhere else in London for less than £25 please let me know. We really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back soon!
We were running late for our reservation and we called them. The restaurant rep was gracious enough to let us know that they'll hold our table. Also we ended up ordering 3 course meals and cocktails. The service was quite fast. We were 5 and we enjoyed all our meals and drinks. The waiter was good as well. He was very patient and able to explain things. When we had to use the bathroom, omg the bathroom smelled like heaven and was so cute and clean. The restaurant and the bathroom gave me Parisian vibes. Loved it alot and we will definitely recommend it!
Food is really amazing.. Cozy atmosphere. The interiors are really superb. Delightful and peaceful Ambiance Friendly staff..Hospitality is 👌🏻👌🏻 loved the experience and definitely I will be a regular customer soon. Thier best items are French toast Butter cake Poached egg Benedict Chicken wrap Club sandwich..
The food - vegan burger and fries were Mouth-watering. The afternoon tea, $29, should cost more. And the libations OMG the Ginger Mule!! This place is underrated! I am happy that I can afford this place. Please don't ever change because customers like me love quality food at a fair price. I won't remove a star because of the hostess's lack of knowledge. We almost turned away because she told us we needed to sit near the window for afternoon tea. Bye 👋 girl bye. From this American Girl
The cruffins are to die for! Try one of each flavour if you can but the hazelnut is my favourite! The prawn cocktail and chicken salad were also delicious! Advance booking is essential!
The place was splendid!! They could have played the music louder and one member of staff was really rude at first but after I spoke to her directly, she became really nice. The meal wa splendid and I got the a three course meal for two people of groupon for £40. Thé dishes were completely worth the money and I enjoyed every second!!! The view was beautiful and it was easy to access, near the station, and the restaurant is surrounded but many beautiful shops, which allow for increased enjoyment after the meal
Richoux was just amazing place for having our breakfast today. We tried the Cruffin , Croissant, the eggs bun and Scottish smoked salmon with good breakfast tea. Thanks to the friendly staff and Will go again definitely.
Walked past one random weekend and got drawn in by the muffins on display, which were absolutely amazing. We decided to book for dinner a few weeks later after liking at the menu and the food didn't disappoint. Ordered the ribeye steak, which comes with chips and salad for £20, so we were very happy with the price. Would definitely book again, and get the exact same meal! Although if you're after the muffins, go early as they were all gone on our second visit in the evening!
Art deco place which feels super posh but the staff are lovely and the prices are ok. Had the best mocha on ice. Not too sure about the strawberry yoghurt stuffing in the cruffin. I recommend you get a plain flavour for the real experience. Great stop to relax and rest in the middle of wlaking, shopping and visiting London.
Delicious strawberry and cream cruffin. For £6.95 it is expensive, particularly as quality of the pastry itself is nice but not exceptional. Still 5 stars for overall taste and design, and great for one off treat.
Food was amazing! The chocolate mousse? OMG it was beautiful. We also tried their best selling cocktail Sauvage and it was delicious. Food was reasonably priced and we will definitely be returning
Friendly stuff, wonderful place, A cozy haven serving brews, delectable treats, and warm hospitality. Unforgettable afternoon tea experience!, Recommend for you.
Only visited to try the cruffin. Has the pistachio and strawberriy one. They change the flavours every so often. It was very delicious and sweet and creamy! Smaller than I had hoped but maybe felt that way as I wanted more. Also felt like the Americano was a little small too... I asked for a large but they only had 1 size ! The other cake was some sort of meringue cake - very light and sweet. They also have a lunch dinner menu. The vibe is very much like the Ivy. Had a good time. We were sat next the the till, so the waiter was always hovering around so made it feel a little chaotic as always rushing around.
I came specifically for the viral cruffin and it did not disappoint. I'd say skip the square croissants down the street and come here instead. I would make another trip to London just to try their other flavors.
The cruffins are amazing! There is seating inside but if you are only there for cruffins it is limited, if you are there for lunch there is a lot more seating. Their tea is lovely and a very good vibe.
Upon entering Richoux, we were welcomed by an elegant afternoon tea setting that instantly captivated our attention. Unable to resist the allure, we decided to indulge ourselves with a Raspberry Vanilla Bean Cruffin (£6.95) and a Cinnamon Roll (£3.75). The cruffin was a sight to behold, with its vanilla custard filled with specks of vanilla bean oozing out as you take a bite. The vanilla flavor was light, the raspberry jam was not overly sweet, and the cruffin boasted a flawless flaky, fluffy texture. The cinnamon roll, on the other hand, was a pleasant surprise! Although it appeared somewhat dry at first glance, it was delightfully buttery on the inside. The roll had the perfect flaky exterior and was packed with a rich cinnamon flavor. It was so good that we would even argue it's better than Buns from Home. Overall, our experience at Richoux was a delightful one, and we can't wait to return for more delectable treats! We visited Richoux for cream tea and they served very nice scone with amazing tea today. Especially, Alex made our time there so good and provided us amazing service. We will definitely come back:)
Excellent table service I booked at this place for a special occasion and it did not let me down. The place stood up for its customer and table service. Firstly the host greeted us in a friendly manner and found a quiet lovely table for us. When hesitating about our food, the waitress, Olena, who served our table gave us enough time to look at the menu and she gave us helpful recommendations too. Furthermore, she was kind, patient and she made sure we liked our food throughout the service. She was outstanding. Karima also enhanced our experience and showed great customer service manners. Good food Each of us had 3 courses and everything was lovely and flavourful. I would recommend trying the New York Baked Cheesecake as a dessert, it was especially good. The only con was that my main course was very salty but these things happen every now and then. I would recommend this place for a quiet dinner, drinks or an afternoon tea. The atmosphere was nice. They played good background music and the place was very well decorated. Thank you to all the friendly staff members.
This cafe was a highlight of our day in Piccadilly. Called in for a coffee and cake. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful interior. We were served by a very nice and polite young man. The coffee and cake were delicious too! Can't wait to go back.
Order for takeaway one cruffin and one cinnamon bun. My husband absolutely loved his pastry and couldn't stop taking about how nice it was. Unfortunately for me, the one that I picked for myself was extremely dry and being upset I didn't want to try his. I don't know if they are meant to be like that of I just received an old one but made me think two times if I want to return. Very beautiful display and food decor, quick service and average customer service. Also, decent prices for location and presentation.
A step up from your standard brasserie restaurant, more 4.5*. Reopened just 3 months ago under new management and fully refurbished. Stylish, casually elegant and relaxed, the food is pretty good and the service great. Located in Piccadilly, it is excellent value for money in a lovely setting. Highly recommended! The deco is very pleasing, the light brown wall panels contrasting with blue wall seats and different colour and fabric chairs, and lots of mirrors White table cloth, stylish table lamp and cute salt and pepper grinders. Scale motif black and white tiles in the middle of the floor running lenghtwise and Chandelier matching the style of wall and table lamps, lights all dimmed, with the bar area at the end. Interesting painting on the walls throughout. Very accomplished. The food was very well cooked and presented. I followed the recommendation of my waiter, crispy duck salad with hoisin dressing, very good balance of tastes and textures, and flat iron steak frites (with peppercorn sauce as extra). The steak was cooked to perfection, and so tasty, perfectly accompanied with a glass of Bordeaux! The frites excellent. The chocolate cake was good but not great, the creme fraiche easily replaced by ice cream to my request. The staff is great and the service can't be faulted. Special mention to Ondre, my waiter on the day, who was superb.
A superb new addition to Piccadilly! Richoux is 100% back on map and some. The menu is great and tastes superb, the service is kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a lunch or a lovely cocktail at the bar.
Lovely place to have high tea. I ordered classic high tea set, and it came with 4 sandwiches, 2 scones (+clotted cream & jam), 4 pastries and my choice of a tea pot. As a solo traveller, that was way too much. and I ended up brining left over back to my hotel. So I recommend to order scone set (I don't remember its exact name, but the price was something like GBP19) The staff are very much friendly and helpful. I actually enjoyed their service more than food.
Elegantly designed restaurant. We were there only for coffee & dessert, so were allowed to sit at the entrance only… This was the negative side for me while it was not crowded and had plenty of available tables. Tried Creme Brulee & Cruffins, the must try is the Cruffins; which is the mix of muffins with croissants ☺️
The place is ok, but nothing special. We had 4 cruffins and 4 coffees, the bill was £60. I've had the cruffins before for take away and to be honest this time they were smaller than before. I don't think I will go there again.
Had the "Cream Tea for Two" for £9.90 - including 2 baby scones + clotted cream/jam with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. The scones were warm and fluffy (delicious) and the tea was good. The only downside is that the service was very slow. Other than that, great experience, nice decor.
Met up for afternoon tea with some fellow Aussie friends at this lovely cafe on Piccadilly apparently well known for their ’cruffins’ which are a fusion of croissant and muffin. We had a cozy window corner and were attended to by a very pleasant gentleman. Lovely chic interior with many delicious treats to choose from. I must say the pomme tartin in the front window looked divine and I might just have to go back for one before I leave London. 😊 4.5 ⭐️
Pretty restaurant (love the pink toilets!) and decent food for lunch. We stopped to pick up the famous cruffins and ended up staying for lunch. I wouldn't rush back for the food, but it was nice enough.
Came without reservation during the week, we were lucky not to wait too long for a table. I liked the atmosphere and seating arrangement. recommend for weekends to have a reservation. We tried different tea flavors and desserts, I highly recommend their Cruffin, especially the passion-fruit flavor.
All-day French-style dining in the heart of Piccadilly . Richoux, established in 1909, prides itself in using the best sourced fresh produce to prepare delicious meals. What impressed me the most was their beautiful interior. . We ordered the following: STARTERS Jumbo Prawn Cocktail Burrata with Tomatoes MAINS Lemon Chicken Salmon a La Plancha, crispy black rice salad DESSERTS Flourless chocolate cake with Creme Fraiche Meringue Gateaux with Mascarpone Chantilly DRINKS Strawberry Margarita Mango Colada . Overall we were happy with everything, service was fast and attentive. Meals and cocktails are quite simply and traditionally presented. The Meringue Gateaux cake was huge so I definitely recommend it if you have room for a big dessert. It is on a pricerier side due to the location. They are famous for their cruffins, eggs Benedicts and they also offer an afternoon tea. . Price: £25 and under Cuisine: French, Mediterranean Closest tube: Green park
I made a quick stop here to get the much talked about cruffin (vanilla and raspberry). It was a busy day but they have a mini bakery section at the entrance and I was served quick. They had cruffins packed away in neat little bags to save time but at close to £7 a piece, I felt it was pricey. Quality and filling inside the cruffin was good and I enjoyed the crispy exterior. If I go back here, it will be to try the other cruffin flavours.
The Cruffin at Richoux has resulted in a-lot of viral hype and has drawn crowds to this charming establishment, with queues stretching out the door. It's no wonder, as the delightful Crufin lives up to its fame, albeit a tad pricey. Unfortunately, the pastry section's layout leaves much to be desired, offering only three seats for patrons to enjoy their pastries, teas and coffees. While the friendly and accommodating staff do their best to make guests feel welcome, the limited seating arrangement hampers the overall experience. Given the Crufin's immense popularity, it would greatly benefit Richoux to implement a production line to streamline the process and make the most of this Instragram popularity. This would improve service times and, ultimately, customer satisfaction. Although we were fortunate enough to secure a seat, we encountered a frustrating wait for both service and the bill. This did detract from the overall experience. 8/10 for the Cruffin, great for a birthday or party piece.
Quite a nice restaurant. Close to Soho. The ambiance was nice, the food was great. I had the chicken Caesar salad for starters and Lamb for mains. Portion wasn't too much but it was delicious. As a Canadian, I could do with a little extra. The service was also good. We had booked the table till 7pm but due to strikes on the rail we couldn't arrive early enough. When it was 7pm, they set up another table for us so we didn't have to leave the restaurant. I will very much recommend.
Great ambience, good location, service was good. Cocktails were good given there was no cocktail menu due to the swap out of new menus. The waitresses really accomdated us and we were a table of 6. For starters I had the french onion soup and it was amazing. Its a shame i left abit as i was looking forward to leaving room for my main. Alittle dissapointed in my main course i had the ribeye medium rare and it tasted charred alittle too burnt and the bernaise was a little too thick i ended up dipping it rather than pouring. The chips were salted way above average. My friends had the e flat iron steak which looked more nicer so maybe it was just my main.
Our daughter bought us an afternoon tea as a gift and we travelled the 150 mile trip by train. She also bought us theatre tickets. We arrived at Euston and as we didn’t have full details I rang and asked what we needed to do. Whilst helpful the tone was a little abrupt and they ended the call before I had finished speaking. Anyway we took the walk as we had enough time. The location is excellent as very near to Fortnum and Mason and Piccadilly Circus. Wheelchair access was good and staff were helpful. We felt a little out classed as there were many clients whom seemed very wealthy and well spoken. However we had paid (well our daughter had), and so we enjoyed the experience. We were asked to choose two of the smaller cakes each from a tray the waiter brought us. We were then brought our plated ‘afternoon tea’ with the hot chocolate and latte ordered (the cream on the hot chocolate was squirty cream), I would have thought that an establishment such as this would have had teal whipped cream. Sandwiches were more than enough but somewhat stale on the edges (I think the afternoon teas were pre prepared and plated). This is main reason for only 3 stars. Scones were ok and jam was in two small jars. The cakes we had chosen were very sweet which for some would be good but a little too sweet for me. I don’t know what my daughter had paid but It was an experience and very thoughtful of her.
Flat iron steak was good but not great, needed more tenderising and seasoning. The rocket salad had a nice dressing and the chips were very good. Service was good, but food took a while to come.
The interiors are nice, the rest room very impressive- I guess that’s what you pay for, as the food is slightly overpriced. We just wanted to have cruffin with tea. The cruffin is nice indeed but costs 8.45£ to dine in, pricey.
I was a little disappointed, front of house when greeting us did not offer any childrens menu when I was with my two boys. Why offer my children adult menus upon arrival when their is a child’s menu, only when I mentioned it did this prompt them to provide the correct menu. My salad was drenched in too much dressing which was a little overwhelming, my boys enjoyed their burgers. We also tried their cuffins (raspberry and chocolate ) one of the reasons for my visit, was left disappointed, wished their was a plain version. The flavours were over powering. Not sure I will repeat my visit.
So 8 of us came here for a pre-theatre dinner with the family. Used a Groupon voucher for a set menu which should have been bit of a red flag from the outset from the beginning tbh. The venue inside is actually really nicely decorated, has a great feel to it and feels very much like it's trying to mimic the Ivy Brasserie decoration - but given the location it's no surprise there is a premium feel to it. That's where the premium-ness of the place stops. Service was terrible, were sat down for close to half hour before someone even came to take a drink order, the staff seemed to be running after the afternoon tea patrons, so after numerous asks, we were served. Menu itself was really unmentionable. Had a range from grilled salmon to pasta and rice rice's to steak and burgers. Food was average. Finally when it came to the bill, there was a lot of confusion around how much we were being charged. We paid more for the Groupon voucher than the discount on the bill.... Not sure how that works, but if you are paying £200 for Groupon voucher you expect to get a minimum of £200 off the bill. WRONG. The voucher only got us £140-150 worth of 'credit', doesn't make any sense. In the end, after 15/20 mins deliberation with the manager we just had to pay and leave to avoid being late for the show.... Would I go back for dinner... Not a chance.
Pastries were nice but only nice, they look fantastic but taste is nothing special. Customer service is poor, they have a tiny section for seating if you're getting a coffee and pastry, but won't let you sit in the far larger lunch area even if it's empty and early for lunch. Only one person serving and the service was very slow, there was only one couple in front of us waiting to be served but it took about 15 minutes for us to get our order -- there were other members of staff standing around. Overall, a disappointing experience.
Although the cruffins were delicious service was appalling Coffee not only took half hour to come (I’d eaten my cruffin by this time) but it was cold so had to send it back to be remade they seemed very overwhelmed could sense it was a bit chaotic shame as the interior was stunning and food was 10/10
The worst experience ever, please don’t fall prey to hype created by creators on reels and TikTok. The cruffin which are actually croissant with filling which lacks flavour. Coffee on the other hand was just warm to drink in one go and not brewed. All in all, worthless spending of money so avoid ! Positive was only the staff who brought coffee in 30mins and the interiors.
