Great meal. Speedy and friendly service. A little on the pricey side but it is in central London so to be expected. We both enjoyed cheeseburgers with tater tots. I had the house lemonade - very tasty. Ideal for a quick bite before or after a show.

Came here for a proper comfort food fix and it delivered. Had the Black Dog burger, very tasty, super filling, served with crispy tater tots and pickles. The kids’ menu was solid too, with good-sized portions. Tried the aqwa mojito, which was refreshing, and definitely don’t miss the picklebacks. Laid-back BBQ vibe and a good spot for a great meal.

I can’t express enough how much the burgers were amazing! Delicious and juicy! Absolute American Style. Service also was brilliant, Ester was so welcoming and guided us well about the menu. The only negative thing was their beef patty and steak burgers were a bit too salty for all of us (a party of 6). Definitely recommend and go back when I’m back in London!

Really impressed with Red Dog Saloon. Upon walking in, you feel teleported into a Texan ranch with music and decor working perfectly, among the nice but certainly not overpowering BBQ smells. The staff were lovely and polite. We ordered just the USS Oaklahoma for two people and it was sublime. An absolutely HUGE quantity, two really hungry lads still couldn't quite finish it. They were more than happy to swap out the BBQ Chicken for Nashville Chicken Tenders which were incredibly moist. I also really enjoyed the pork burnt ends, brisket and pork ribs. Amazing seasoning. The long horn beef rib wasn't as tender as I was hoping, but still tasty.

No wait for our table, service was very friendly and fast, drinks all delicious. Food all tasted very fresh and flavoursome. There's so much meat on the platter but they are happy for you to box up and takeaway. Served by the lovely Alessia. Can't wait to visit again!

We ate here on a Saturday night. It was fab. Staff were all lovely and honest on portion sizes. The food itself was the star of the show. We opted for the shating platter and the selection was fantastic. Deffo come back

Oklahoma Platter is a MUST. And with the lemon ice tea… sour enough to make you eyes roll back but sweet enough still enjoy as a person who loves a sweet drink. My friends really liked the peach ice tea though. Mozzarella sticks sauce✅Beef rib✅✅Pork Burnt ends✅✅✅Gotta get it again next time

If you’re a meat lover, this is paradise! We ordered the mixed platter and every single cut was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned beautifully. The portions are huge and the sides actually complement the meal instead of just filling space

Tasty food. Waitress was attentive and kind. Atmosphere is cool. Bonus if you enjoy country music. Defo worth as a treat with mates.

Unbelievable BBQ meat platters! Some of the best meat I’ve ever tasted and the service was fantastic. If you’re visiting London and looking for a great reliable restaurant then this should be top of your list! Thank me later!!!

Well worth it The food is out of this world! And was pleasantly surprised with the bill, really thought it would have been more for the amount of food we order and the QUALITY of the meat!! Delicious cocktail too! My partner says I am a Mac and Cheese critique as "we can do better at home" but we were both surprised when I kept reaching for the Mac. So smokey, so cheesy and DELICIOUS 😋 My new happy place, see you again soon!

Tried the new breakfast menu recently and it's one of the best I've had: everything was delicious and it's great value for money. The hash browns were tater tots, and I would have preferred a more traditional hash brown, but they still tasted good.

Great BBQ. Only reasons I took a couple of the stars off the specific categories were that they forgot our water, the front door lets in a draft and the toilets could be cleaner. But I really can't fault the food.

Great meal, great service, great atmosphere. Saved the evening after being let down by another booking, quality tells and this really was great bbq, we will definitely be back

Wow a meat feast to die for and I think I almost did after eating the uss oklahoma platter I had to go lie down for the rest of the evening! Everything was tender delicious and tasty cooked perfectly 👌

I was recommended this place by a colleague at work and thought I'd try on my Birthday visit to London. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by our waitress Sarb who showed us to our table and was then for a few minutes to choose from the menu as we took in the American surroundings of the restaurant along with Country and Western music playing gave the whole place that American feel. We placed our food and drinks order and was surprised how quick our starters came out.......I had the burnt end nuggets which were absolutely sublime 👌 followed by my main which was the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Burger which again was immense! If you visit here, go hungry as portions are big and you won't be disappointed......... Will definitely visit here again👍

I am a regular customer at the Soho branch of the Red Dog Saloon and it is my go-to restaurant for American style burgers and BBQ. There are so many delicious things on the menu, but my personal favourites are the Punisher MK2 and Cronus burgers of which I have shared photos. They are honestly among the best burgers I have ever tasted. The banana and peanut butter & Oreo milkshakes are also delicious. They are nice and thick and not watery like some other places. Red Dog Saloon also started serving a new waffle as a dessert and I highly recommend that as well, provided you have room after the BBQ or burgers! Besides the delicious food, the service here is also excellent. Each time I visit, my order is served promptly but still very well-cooked. The staff are also very friendly and helpful and check-in regularly to make sure you are enjoying your meal without being intrusive. There is a really nice atmosphere and you really feel like you are in a Texan saloon. I definitely recommend visiting Red Dog Saloon if you fancy a delicious burger or BBQ combined with excellent service. A word of warning though that the Cronus burger is delicious but can be messy!

The atmosphere was incredibly authentic, capturing the true essence of an American cowboy style, and we absolutely loved it! We ordered a selection of starters, burgers, chips, and onion rings, which turned out to be quite a large portion for just two people. However, we simply couldn’t resist sampling every dish, as each one had such enticing flavours!

Beautiful decorated, warm atmosphere, very helpful service and absolutely delicious food 😋 I visited with my girlfriend for a quick bite and we had one of the tastiest burgers. We ordered the simple cheeseburger and Fries. The quality of the meat was good and the Fries arrived at the right temperature and properly fried. The music is really good and at the right level. Prices are quite normal if you consider the location. Highly recommended 👌

The restaurant itself is set in a very small area with tables packed tightly. Atmosphere was great and the food was AMAZING! The burgers especially very good. For the quantity and quality of the food the price is super reasonable. Highly recommend visiting for the platters which come with burgers and lots of other variety. Menu photo uploaded.

Red Dog Saloon in Soho is a true gem for meat lovers and food enthusiasts alike. During my visit, I was blown away by the incredible flavors and the mouthwatering brisket featured in their burgers. The Hickory Burger, Hickory Smoked Pork Shoulder sandwich, Chopped Brisket, and the Philly Fries were all exceptional, leaving me wanting more. The meat was incredibly juicy and perfectly cooked, showcasing the expertise of the chefs at Red Dog Saloon. A fantastic tip for those dining in pairs is to order two sandwiches and share halves, allowing both to savor different flavors. The sandwiches being cut in half made this idea even more enjoyable. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere and attentive service further enhanced the dining experience. If you're in Soho and craving amazing meat dishes, Red Dog Saloon is an absolute must-visit. I'll definitely be returning to try more of their delectable offerings in the future!

We popped in after passing by looking for somewhere to eat. Came in completely on a whim and we're so glad we did. We were seated straight away and served by some super attentive staff. We had the BBQ Croquettes to start as a share and I went for the Gooey Louie burger (pictured) with fries. The food was absolutely delicious and just the right portion size for myself. Staff were right on it too. Small note... The bottles of beer we had could have been a tad colder but no big issue. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're after a good burger or BBQ joint.

Really cool place. Excellent food, the brisket and the fried chicken were particularly great. Would go back for the pickles alone. Cocktails were good but the margaritas were the best. Service was good generally, but Sara stood out, genuinely friendly and attentive. Warning - portions are huge!

Bit tight for the type of restaurant. Invest in some training for staff or hire people who pay attention. Our orders went a round around the floor before they figured out it was ours. The person taking our order was on point though, never wrote anything down and got it perfect. In the end, the food is amazing, I never skip on wings!

Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had — juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with incredible flavour. You can tell real care goes into the ingredients and the cooking. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, the service is friendly, and the food arrives hot and fresh. If you’re a burger lover, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back again (and again)! 🍔🔥 You said: With brisket on top and lovely mustard smokey sauce ChatGPT said: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five-Star Review Red Dog Saloon absolutely deserves a 5-star rating! Hands down the best burger I’ve ever had — juicy, perfectly cooked, and loaded with tender brisket on top, which takes it to another level. The lovely smoky mustard sauce ties everything together perfectly, adding just the right balance of richness and tang. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and unforgettable food. If you’re even remotely serious about burgers, this place is a must-visit. I’ll be back without hesitation!

Went to the red dog saloon with a couple of friends for a birthday meal. We went midweek and had no issues getting a table without booking. Had the malted shakes - honestly, pretty underwhelming and small for the price (£6.50 ish). We all had various main dishes with the baskets. I had the brisket - meat was delicious, chips were okay (I wish I'd tried the tater tots as the chips were pretty run of the mill), the slaw was good and the bread was okay. I felt the portion was a good size, but honestly didn't match up to the £25 price tag. Would have been more in the region of £15-20 for me personally. Friends has the pork belly burnt ends. Again, meat was good. I think it was the same feeling all around about cost vs size etc. Saving grace for me was the beer - house lager was top notch and served in a frosted glass. Would recommend, but be prepared to spend a fair few quid here especially if you're looking to grab 3 courses!

Great place for authentic BBQ food, it's a small venue but doesn't feel crowded. Food is great and staff very friendly and welcoming. O was given the wrong side order but they rectified it very quickly

My brother and I had a great time but wasn’t too blown away by the food. For a total of 170 with drinks we think it was worth the price for a time out in London but was a little disappointed about the smoke on the beef rib. It was too chewy and should fall of the bone. As two people who also smoke meat for a business we were expecting more. The pickles and coleslaw left something to be desired as it was just filling up the plate and had terrible flavor

s
simplymegz

We had the Gooey Louie and The Pepperoni Pounder which were amazing. We also got onion rings to share which were good too. I would say it is quite expensive as our total came to £44.44 but the food is really good quality!

Great service and a lovely cheeseburger. Very small and the seating is quite squashed together. Expensive for what it is, but tastes good!

The food is great if you’re a fan of American-style burgers, and I’ve visited this place many times. However, during my last visit, the service was disappointing, and I had to ask for several things multiple times.

Friendly enough greeting when we arrived at 4pm for a 5pm Saturday booking. Drinks came out fast, frosty glass tankard of ‘Red Dog Saloon Lager’, their only draught despite the 7 showing on the website menu. We came here for the smoked meats. Best was the beef brisket. It’s that British lean beef. Not bad smoke, tender but not moist nor juicy. Pleased that it wasn’t smothered in sauce, despite it being very good. Always forget to order on the side in UK. Pork belly burnt ends were quite dry and chewy but again the excellent sauce helped. Coleslaw had no onion or enough mustard to balance mayo - disappointing. Pickled cukes were delicious; we asked for more and they obliged with a huge bowl gratis. Service ended up being very good after all and the playlist was perfect and awesome. The Black Dog double cheeseburger with a slice of morcilla looked delicious but the beef lacked flavour and the sauce overwhelmed the sausage. Overall it was pretty good for the UK but wouldn’t really work in Texas, let alone Austin. Oh by the way in case you were wondering, the lone lager was really Becks!

I went to this restaurant with a friend, we had the US Texas platter. The ribs here were very tender and juicy and flavourful, the brisket was so juicy and tender, the sausage was delicious, the empanadas were okay, the coleslaw was good as well, and the toasted bread was buttery and delicious. The sauces given with the platter were just okay. The meats were better on their own. We also had buffalo wings as an appetizer, those were crispy and juicy but the buffalo flavour was absent in the sauce. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Overall it was a good experience.

Red Dog Saloon wasn't my typical choice of cuisine since I prefer healthier options, but my husband was eager to try it after seeing their Instagram feed. Despite not being my usual pick, we had a great time. The food was surprisingly tasty, especially the Philly cheese fries! Overall, it's a four-star experience for satisfying my husband's cravings and providing a fun dining experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Good atmosphere and very attentive staff but the food let’s Red Dog Saloon down. The menu is so broad that it can only be described as a master of none although having tasted multiple meals across a table of ten, the fried chicken is definitely the leader. I therefore recommend the chicken tenders or chicken burger. We went to sample the very instagramable Xmas platter but individual items came up wanting with dry turkey, lacklustre flavour and a thimble of gravy. Saying all that, the staff and beer were both great, and the vibe friendly and the right side of busy.

We Walked in looking for a table, luckily they had space for 4 with no wait. Good atmosphere and the place looked cool with friendly staff. Ordered a sharing platter, a Lucy juicy and a parm. The food platter in my opinion mostly consisted of fat in all the meat, at least 40-50% which was not to my liking, and the pricing didnt match this. Think it was way overpriced for what it was. Im sure there is better and cheaper options out there.

Visited on Saturday 8th November. No one greeted us as we entered the restaurant, we walked in and someone came to us once we'd walked down to where they were standing. We'd had booked and was popped onto a table. Service was good overall for ordering food but when it came to paying the bill go dropped off but had to then wait nearly 10 mins for someone to come back with a card machine. The food was below average. The chips were poor, pale looking with no crisp to them. The onion rings were too crunchy, the batter fell off and dint make for a nice experience, way too greasy. The hot links were very nice, the burnt ends were good too but the classic brisket sandwich was chewy and didn't really taste or much bar the coleslaw, the mounds of it ! Over all ok place but not worth the money and the food was average.

Atmosphere was great with country chart music (5/5 for me), and service seemed fine at first with our small table of three. But when I asked to remove the automatically added service charge, the server became visibly annoyed. For me, tipping should always be my choice, based on the experience—not something decided for me. The food was okay but underwhelming; my pork belly bites were mostly fatty, which was disappointing given the reviews. Overall, not awful, but I’ll probably stick to Bodeans for smokehouse food in future.

The atomsphere is the restaurant is okay - A little dark and dingy for my liking. - The restaurant is small and compact Food: - I came here because of the new breakfast menu and the food looked good from social media post. - I was disappointed! - The portions sizes wasn’t the same & the presentation of the food was lacking also. - Upon tasting the food it was quite bland and boring. 5/10 Only because the pancake was fluffy and quite nice

I had the privilege of visiting a few BBQ spots in Austin, TX earlier this year so I had a reference point when visiting Red Dog Saloon. On entering the premises I was greeted coldly by a woman just standing at the back of the place with her arm folded who just indicated we could sit ‘there’ after pointing. As she turned around I asked where the bathroom was and with her back turned she just pointed downstairs. Not a great start! Thankfully when I returned a different lady was serving us and with a nicer demeanour. I ordered the USS Oklahoma which is the most expensive sharing platter that comes with no sides. Starting off with the brisket it was very average. Not tough but definitely not fall apart or juicy. Somewhat dry, little bark and also small portion. Burnt ends were ‘okay’ but sauced nicely. Links were pretty decent. Beef rib was extremely fatty and could only have about two bites but the smoke on it was good. Chicken was really good. Pork ribs were tougher than a pair of old boots and genuinely the worst I have ever had. The pulled pork ironically was some of the best I have had. Empanadas were also decent. Morcilla was awful. All in all a below average bbq comparatively speaking and definitely way more expensive than what you’d pay for at Franklins or Black’s which is arguably top tier in Austin. One has to bear in mind this is SOHO but if you’re going to serve average BBQ at least work on some friendlier staff to make the experience a little more worth the spend. St Louis cut pork ribs - 2/10 USDA brisket - 5/10 Chopped pork - 10/10 Barbecue chicken - 7/10 Hot links - 7/10 Morcilla - 4/10 Pork belly burnt ends - 6/10 Long horn beef rib - 5/10 Barbecue empanadas - 7/10 Overall experience 5/10

1. The restaurant itself could do with some cleaning, tables were quite sticky and the lights needed dusting. 2. Food was good, quite pricey but lacked flavour. 3. Great vibe and ambience - it felt like we were in a smokehouse in the USA! 4. Large portions of food, but it comes at a price. 5. Buffalo wings are drowned in too much sauce. 6. Came here for a birthday and was expecting the staff to bring out a small cake but it was just some ice cream - still grateful though. Just thought it they could have done more since we spent £140+

Decent for a one-off visit, but the place really needs a proper clean. Staff were friendly yet more focused on chatting than serving, and the food was noticeably below the standard I experienced before. Honestly, you can get far better quality for less on Charlotte Street.

H
Harriet Simpson

The restaurant had a nice, quiet atmosphere, and the staff were polite and attentive. There was a good selection of meats and burgers to choose from, and the creamy corn was especially tasty. However, they didn’t ask how we wanted our burger cooked, and it came out pink. The pit beans were much too peppery for our taste. The table felt a bit cramped, especially with a large platter, and some of the food was served colder than expected.

N
Noah Brevitt

I have visited other places in this chain and have no problems when doing so. Today however the service we received during our visit was nothing short of atrocious. The staff member was not very welcoming, not helpful, when we got our food didn’t ask us how it was whilst eating and got confrontational when paying the bill as we opted to take the service charge off. As we felt the service we received wasn’t deserving of this charge. I would go as far to say this is the worst service I have experienced anywhere I have been before and I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

I have previously eaten at this restaurant a couple years ago and I really enjoyed the food. However this time was a different story. My friend and I ordered one of the platters with mac and cheese on the side. First of all the mac and cheese was quite literally disgusting. Felt like the melted cheese in the microwave then added the macaroni. The chicken was under cooked with I have added a picture of. My friend and I both ended up with food poisoning. Horrible experience.

J
Jo Kent

Visited the Brighton branch (located within The Mesmerist) after seeing a mouthwatering video on Instagram showcasing their Brisket Philly sandwich. What I received was nothing like what was advertised. The sandwich I got had about four thin, dry slices of brisket, zero candied jalapeños as promised, and overall looked (and tasted) like something thrown together with no care. I asked about the missing jalapeños, and they brought over a side plate of cheap jarred ones — clearly not the same thing. Tried contacting them multiple times via Instagram to give them a chance to respond privately, but I’ve been completely ignored. What’s worse is that I used to be a regular at their London locations and had good experiences in the past. Unfortunately, after this visit and the lack of care shown both during and after the meal, I won’t be returning. First image is what was promised online, second and third is what we were given!

It felt like an inconvenience walking into the restaurant, greeted by a beautiful warm silence, followed up by a dry aura to our “ reserved” table which was occupied by “management”. Slapped the menu on the table and left. The second waitress that took over after the first bubbly one left, the vibe got much better. The ice tea was amazing, ice cold glass and great flavour. I think when they ask for mild or hot they are referring to the temperature of the food, because hot spice did not even tingle. We had the chicken tenders and the mixed grilled. The chicken was tasteless to be honest, expected some sort of kick as it’s meant to be a “Nashville hot tender”. Personally wouldn’t recommend coming back as there was nothing special from this place. For the restaurant: review your staffs attitude and the importance of a warm welcome, it could change the outcome of the experience when the food doesn’t meet expectations.

Dry, tough and poorly cooked food. ‘I don’t have the dental insurance to eat another burnt end’ was a phrase uttered while trying to eat. The St Louis ribs were poor Having eaten in St Louis and Austin at some of the best bbq places this doesn’t compare but you would get better food at your local harvester. The mac and cheese tasted bland… box mac and cheese tastes better. Would not recommend and very over priced for the quality. Meat was very fatty and not cooked to render it properly. The waitress was friendly as a positive to the experience

L
Luke

Would not recommend, supposed to be a nice place with nice food however myself and my girlfriend left feeling sick and I ended up being sick. The food was very fattey, I have never had a burger before that had lumps of fat in it, the brisket if you can call it that was basically a thin bit of steak with again a huge amount of fat, it was all covered in a source and didnt tase smoke cooked at all we both thought it was more reheated than anything. It was very expensive as well, for 2 people with 2 drinks being just shy of £100 you would expect a lot better. If I didnt feel so unwell at the time I would have requested to speak to the manager. Its a shame as I had sutch high hopes as I had seen good reviews online and had been told by family it was good it may have just been a bad day being just after new years and Christmas however I found it completely unacceptable
