We were in London for 8 days. We had dinner at your restaurant the last night. It was by far the best dining experience we had. The Beef Wellington was cooked perfectly! Everyone was so nice. To the gentleman that we spoke with who had been to Alabama (sorry, we can't remember your name), you were very welcoming and nice to speak with. Thank you for allowing us to take a menu to commemorate our perfect dining experience! Sincerely, Jason and Mary Jo Montgomery.
Me and my Girlfriend has a Sunday dinner there. The food was amazing the service wonderful. I had the lamb and it melted in my mouth, she had the roast beef. We both had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. A couple nearby had a shared beef wellington that looked amazing. We will be back in the future to try it.
I had a birthday dinner here and loved it. The outside is very decorative. We were welcomed warmly and shown upstairs to our table. The decor is pretty, think art deco/1920’s/brasserie zedel vibes but cozier and warmer. The bread and butter was warm and salty (how it should be). We had crab and prawns as starters and then prawns and foie gras as a main. I love foie gras and this was superb. The prawns were also delicious and tasty. They had a good soft char to them. For pudding we had mouse and crumble. The crumble was 11/10. I drank gavi and it was a great bottle. We also had a virgin mojito which was highly rated. Food and service was immaculate. Pound for pound one of my favourite meals of all time. Would highly recommend and would go back.
After seeing on instagram thought why not.. Very happy that I did. Enjoyed the Saturday sharing roast which had the chicken, lamb and beef.. Accompanied by what could be the best roast potato I have ever had. What an amazing place and the service of the waiters upstairs matched. Would be back in a flash
Dinner at Fifty Cheyne was something special. The food was absolutely exceptional – beautifully presented, rich in flavour, and made with real care – but what truly set the experience apart was the outstanding service. Every member of staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our time there memorable. It wasn’t just a meal, it was a moment – and it turned a great day into an unforgettable one for our family.
No Fifty Cheyne did not disappoint! The Beef Wellington was out of this world! Meat was so tender it melted in my mouth, big portions and reasonably priced. We also had Hereford Beef Roast with all the trimmings which were all divine. The roast potatoes were one of the best we have ever had! Crispy on the outside, suitably salted and a perfect waxy consistency on the inside which I love. We also had Seabass which was cooked to perfection! (We did not expect much from the fish as we knew this place is famous for the meats, but were blown away) it was one of the best seabass we have tried too!Service was excellent, a few small things needed fixing ( a cocktail was a little too strong and one dessert came wrong) but they dealt with it swiftly and did not charge us for a couple of things as compensation.Though the desserts were a little disappointing compared with the mains. The sticky toffee pudding was a little cakey, the crumble was okay, nothing special and the chocolate mousse was also so so. But who needs dessert when the mains are so good??Definitely will be returning, hopefully soon. My biggest dilemma is whether to repeat the wellington or try their other fish!
Honestly the best roast dinner aside from my Dad's home cooking. Everything was incredible but a special shout out to those roast potatoes...they were incredible and I will dream about them until next time I eat there. We had the sharing platter but cant wait to go back to try the beef wellington.
I had a reservation for a party of one for a Sunday roast lunch. The tradition of a sunday roast is one of my favorite when visiting the UK. This was absolutely the very best one I have ever had. The lamb melted in my mouth. The mint sauce, which normally I don’t prefer, was excellent! The potatoes were fluffy and warm on the inside, but so crisp on the outside that they could cut you if you picked one up. I added a side of smoked bone marrow to my meal and it was exceptional. And to conclude a truly fantastic sticky toffee pudding. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and everyone was very friendly. I cannot recommend this destination, highly enough!
Very calm restaurant with delicious food. Came here for Sunday roast and ended up having the beef wellington which was delicious and perfectly cooked. The only negative thing I would say is timings were a little off - we waited ages to get the menu and then once we ordered they had barely poured the wine before the food arrived. But overall excellent experience, would definitely come back!
My boyfriend and I visited No. 50 Cheyne in Chelsea this past Sunday, and it ended up being one of the most pleasant dining experiences we have had in a long time. We had booked a table specifically to try their classic British Sunday roast, and after seeing quite a bit of buzz online, we arrived with high expectations that were fully met. We showed up a little early because we were worried about traffic, but the hostess greeted us with such warmth that any stress disappeared immediately. Our table was not ready yet, so she seated us at the bar, which was absolutely beautiful. I did not take any photos because I was too busy admiring the interior, but it is worth looking up online to see how stunning it is. Once we were seated, she walked us through the menu and helped us start with drinks. The drinks took a bit longer than expected, but she apologised sincerely and even removed them from the bill as a kind gesture, which we really appreciated. She also explained the dishes in detail and offered recommendations since some items were new to us. We never caught her name, but she genuinely made a big impact on our evening. When the food arrived, it was delicious. The meat was tender and juicy, and the glazed carrots were my personal favourite. I only wished there had been more than two. If I had to mention one small detail, the food was slightly on the cooler side, but not enough to take away from the enjoyment of the meal. We were seated upstairs, and as the evening went on, the room slowly emptied until we were the last ones there. Turgut, and I hope I am spelling his name correctly, took wonderful care of us. He was cheerful, attentive, and happy to chat, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The entire team carried themselves with such professionalism and pride. Their attentiveness was truly impressive. Even though we ended up staying past closing time, no one rushed us. They encouraged us to relax and enjoy ourselves, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a fantastic evening and would highly recommend No. 50 Cheyne to anyone. If you go, make sure to save room for dessert. The crème brûlée and the sticky toffee pudding are absolutely worth it.
One of the best experiences in London! We had a beef Wellington and couldn’t be more lucky to have it here for the first time. The staff, the whole experience made it absolutely one of the best evenings. Also as we were 4 of us and wanted to share different things, everything was cut in 4 which was very helpful and very kind. As we were celebrating my graduation I also got a dessert from the house. Thank you so much! 🤍
This place impressed me a lot! I’ve been only once, but it is already one of my favourite restaurants in London. The beef Wellington was delicious 🤤! The staff very friendly and respectful! We celebrated our anniversary here, and we ordered a dessert to share at the end - would have appreciated if that came as a gift from the restaurant rather than be included in the bill.
10/10 dinner spot. Awesome service, that fits a classy and cosy dining room that oozes sophistication (without feeling stuffy). All dishes delivered and particularly recommend the creamed spinach and beef wellington. Complimented with extremely reasonable prices for the quality of the restaurant - highly recommend!
Staff were really pleasant and very professional they made us feel welcomed. The beef wellington was great. As well as the lobster. The deserts were delicious to. The decor was beautiful and the washing facilities were very clean of a very good standard. The only thing we didn't really like was the prawns but they weren't too bad but probably won't get them again. But I really would go back again even just for the wellington.
We had an amazing evening at this place. The service was outstanding and the team super friendly. The Beef Wellington was a dream and as you see at the pictures, the dinner was a complete delight. We will for sure come back here again 👏👏👏
Instantly one of our London favourites!! Walking into No. 50, the decor instantly evokes curiosity and excitement. The warm and welcoming team bring calm to your dining experience, and later Alessandro treated us to a spontaneous aperitif tasting session!! Food is of a very high quality, with some of the best cuts and seafood grilled expertly to order. Side dishes bring out the venue's flair and flavour, including the biggest chips we've encountered yet. Hispi cabbage and seared broccoli invited levantine flavours to a table that fast became one of our 2025 favourites. Desserts were a fitting follow up, tasty and inventive yet not too heavy. Drinks throughout were high quality and attentively poured by the team. Overall, No. 50 is firmly up there with Chelsea's best and we are delighted to have found such a high quality spot with a retained neighbourhood feel. We will most certainly be back!!
An amazing dining experience with delicious food and exceptionally friendly staff. The chef personally presented our two Beef Wellingtons before serving them, and we had a delightful conversation with him and the other wonderful team members. We spent a week in London dining at fine restaurants every evening, but this one was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip.
Highly recommended! We booked because we’d heard about the Saturday roast, however we hadn’t checked that this is only available until 3pm. But we weren’t disappointed - the regular menu was outstanding, everything was flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The waiting team paid attention to every detail and were polite and helpful throughout our stay. The sticky toffee pudding was the best my husband has ever had! We will definitely be back for a roast one day
excellent food. I had the fillet and the grilled prawns and they were amazing. lobster was a bit smaller than I expected but was good alao. cocktails were mixed just right and service was very good. excellent experience
Amazing restaurant. Lovely friendly staff, great food and beautiful atmosphere. We will definitely return.
Well, this is the best place I have ever found to have a proper Sunday roast. The roast potatoes are incredible. The interior of this beautiful Georgian house restaurant is outstanding with walls decorated in an art deco style in a Japanese lacquer. The service is impeccable and surprising needs a wine list is quite reasonable for the quality of wine that is served the spicy pear old-fashioned is an outstanding cocktail.
Fantastic value for the 3 course and champagne. Delicious too! As its such great value, all tables are full and despite this, the service is fantastic. Timely hot delicious food. A huge thank you to Martina and Leke who acted on every request without hesitation and you could see were working on 200% capacity. They checked every table, moving around all the time, constantly ensuring prompt service, topping up water and wine on the way. This is exceptional as most restuarants cannot keep up that level of dedication and service. Excellent!
Had a magnificent meal with exceptional service at this elegant bistro! The grill chef offers superior cuts cooked to perfection with seasonal seafood and vegetable options. Vast wine list, stylish cocktails and quality sauces and deserts. All this 5 star quality and yet such a comfortable and cosy vibe! Thanks you for such a memorable evening! I hope we can return someday.
Firstly I cannot thank the staff here what an amazing team, the way they looked after us and our children was above and beyond!! As for the food it was phenomenal I have never enjoyed a roast dinner anywhere but here I could eat this every week!! From start to finish this restaurant are fantastic!!
THE BEST!!!! We got married at 50 Cheyne this week and they were incredible. Service was outstanding, food was incredible and they were so accommodating with us, I can’t thank them enough. We had our wedding ceremony there along with an intimate lunch followed by a wedding party. Our guests absolutely loved it! I can’t write this review without mentioning Alice, the most amazing event manager! She was so good and knew exactly what we wanted! She cares so much about what she does and it really showed! She really made our day so special for us! Raffaele also has to get a mention for cooking the most incredible food, it was amazing! And he is such a lovely, kind person too. Ilaria was also amazing and Zeli, the sweetest lady who had such patience whilst looking after our little boy. Can’t recommend enough and will definitely be going back every year for our anniversary!
A Sunday lunch on Saturday was enjoyed by the whole family. Great atmosphere, good food and perfect company. What more can you want. The beef wellington was perfection and the desserts outstanding. The only minor criticism was the veg plate missing more vibrant greens. But we’d definitely come back again.
Everything is fabulous. The food, the atmosphere! Everything's flawless! Went here for lunch with my family, and we were all blown away! Food: 10/10 The food here is fit for the gods. For our mains, we had tomahawk steak and beef wellington. The meat was so tender and juicy, it melted in our mouths. It was bursting with flavour and had the right amount of doneness. I have dined in G.R.'s restaurants, and I would confidently say that Number 50's beef wellington tasted much better! For sides, we had bone marrow and fois gras. Both were cooked to perfection, and tasted sublime! I would also recommend the "Take your Thyme" mocktail. A cool, refreshing drink to cleanse the palate for the next delectable bite! Service: 10/10 Our server, Mango, was prompt and professional, refilling our water, taking additional orders promptly and checked up on us regularly. He even gave us some trivia about beef wellington. We were even given complementary food and desserts! Atmosphere: 10/10 the restaurant was quaint and well kept, and served a few tables, thus, the atmosphere itself was rather laid-back and relaxed. Price: 10/10 I prefer not to say if the prices are affordable or expensive. Rather, that the prices are WORTH it. Overall, we had a delightful experience! I would recommend 11/10 to come over for special occasions, or even for a quiet dinner with friends or loved ones. You'll be pleasantly surprised. I know I have.
All of my guests had a fantastic evening and said the food was absolutely delicious! Iva was outstanding with her help and organisation - we were thrilled at the success of our evening! The room looked beautiful and the entire restaurant has a lovely warm ambience about it, too.
The roast was delicious, really appreciate the extra lengths on the gluten free Yorkshire pudding and the gravy! The serving team were wonderful and my friend and I were really pleased with the pace of the meal; it was so nice not to feel rushed!
No. 50 Cheney has become my favorite restaurant in London. This may be the sixth or seventh time I've eaten there, and they exceed expectations every time. The service is exceptional. I asked for a cozy table, and they gave me the coziest table in the restaurant. It was quiet, well-lit, and comfortable. The prix fixe menu may be the best-priced prix fixe in town.
Lovely dinner...now we have found you and in walking distance we will return..!! A thankyou to your staff..especially Turget who looked after us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble for him.. A great place to dine at very reasonable prices. A big thank you
10/10! My boyfriend and I went for dinner, and when we arrived our table wasn’t ready. The staff kindly offered us two glasses of champagne and some shrimp. The service was spectacular throughout the evening, always checking if we needed anything or if we wanted recommendations. The food was sublime, and we had the beef Wellington with potatoes. I highly recommend this restaurant which it’s atmosphere is also amazing and very cozy.
"Another excellent lunch, our third in the past year, with a large group of young guests. The ambiance in the upstairs room is lovely and food is delicious. In particular, mushroom soup and Chateaubriand steak were superb. Roasts and Beef Wellington were also much enjoyed. On a previous visit, vegetables were served on large platters to share and, for a large group, this is more convivial than plated portions. Service, whilst warm and welcoming, could be improved. An order of vegetables for ..."
We had a blast here. Sunday roast was delicious, atmosphere was very cozy and pretty. Yet the service was a bit a downside. Long time waiting for placing an order and an extra charge for Bloody Mary that we didn’t ask for (though they were complimentary free as stated by our waiter). Overall a great experience, just check your bill for an “extra” charge as a mistake(?) I guess
Having seen a review by eatingwithtod, we were looking forward to Sunday Lunch. As nice as it was, it unfortunately didn’t quite live up to expectations. Nice welcome and lovely server. Order was taken quick enough and the trio of meats was served fairly quickly too. However, the chicken was dry and the lamb and beef were tough. Shining light was the roast potatoes and chocolate mousse for dessert. But for the price, I’d expected better and we kept having to ask for our Prosecco to be topped up! The waitress who initially served us seemed to be rushed off her feet.
Delicious food, especially the roasts. Some parts of the restaurant have become a bit run down recently / it needs a spruce up.
So, we went for Sunday lunch the other day at No 50 Cheyne. The food was seriously yummy, the place itself was gorgeous, and the people working there were mostly nice. But, and it's a big but, the wait times were just awful. We got there maybe five or ten minutes early, but still had to hang around for like twenty minutes before our table was even ready. After we finally seated by staff, it took another 20minutes for our drinks to show up. I get that Sundays can be crazy busy, you know? But, we waited, get this, 50 to 60minutes for our food to come after we ordered! That meant we didn't eat until about an 1hrs and a half after we were supposed to. It was especially tough with a 5year old child with us. The only reason they gave us was that the steak needed to be cooked, which is the most hilarious excuse I’ve had for a long wait for a meal, and I didn't really buy that, to be honest. Basically, we liked the food and the vibe, it’s a bit pricey for a Sunday roast, but the long waits made us feel a little… unappreciated, I guess. It's a real pity, because it could have been a fantastic experience.
Before reading the review, mind that I attended as mother and daughter date and our ethnic background is East Asian- you may have different experience if white ethnic background, as it has been true to some famous restaurants that different part of meat and different type of hospitality is served based on colour of skin. (I’m assuming this because two teams consecutively sat next to our table(one team after one on the same table) was coincidentally Asians in fact only Asians in the venue) Overall, i honestly dont understand the love. Staff were enthusiastic mostly but one male staff was dead rude- i asked for dessert menu and wasn’t only not handed but also got replied “you can know the options after you finish main” in a condescending and rude tone and manner.. Nor did he ask if we wanted our beef sunday roast rare/ medium/ well done💀 Food, the proteins were seriously meh- lamb and beef would not cut. It was extremely chewy, hard to swallow. Had to order coke to facilitate chewing😀 but again, different parts of meat could be served for different customer at this point. It was so chewy for us. but carbs were on point- we loved the whole vegetable roast and the dessert was SO worth it- worth the stress thats been handed🤡 no but it was really good Drinks-Chablis 1er Cru 'L'Essence des Climats', wow worst WORST CHABlis i ever sipped in my life. Tesco wine would be nicer..😭 it’s not crisp at all or has aroma The loo- with this location i believe the loo should hold less odour But again i might just have been discriminated and experienced something different to other customers. I loved the dessert though✨
Beef rib was medium rare, tasty but too much fat/nerve bits which had to be removed, carrots were quite hard and cabbage was bit burnt, bone marrow was nice, potatoes were crispy but inside were hard. Coffee was good and dessert was the best bit, chocolate fondant and sticky toffee pudding were to die for. The service was slow and it took more than half an hour for the roast to come and tables were very close to each other. Recommend to try once.
So, service was fine, it's quite fancy for my standards but there was nothing to fault and I don't particularly care about the service as long as it's fine. The food however was nice, I had the beef wellington with the truffle fries and cream spinach side. Look, it tasted good but it was nothing insane. Considering it's the most expensive meal I've ever had in my life I was hoping for it to at least taste amazing. I haven't had any other beef wellingtons to compare it to but it was complimented well by the bone marrow gravy. I personally really liked the mash and truffle fries, I don't feel like the spinach complimented it well although we were recommended it (I do generally like spinach too). For the price of around £76? I'd give it a 3/5. It's a shame there's no value rating on here. If I'm paying £76 I expect at least 8/10 food. I would give this place a 7/10 on food alone. Come here when they have their weekday deals and I think it would be a great bargain. The regular prices definitely aren't worth returning for sadly.
Was excited to try the roast however the beef and lamb were very disappointing. The trimmings, dessert, and chicken were very good but the lamb especially was extremely tough to the point that a knife could barely cut it. The beef similarly was not as tender and for the price I expected more.
Unfortunately, our Sunday Roast experience at No Fifty Cheyne was incredibly disappointing from start to finish, especially given the reputation of the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of Ruinart Brut which was served room temperature and spilled by the server—yet still poured for the table, without offering a taste. It was handled poorly and lacked the care expected at this level. The roast itself featured beautiful sirloin cuts, but one guest found a hair in her carrot, and despite asking to keep her original beef, was given a new plate with a lesser cut. Another guest discovered a food price label inside her bread sauce, which understandably ruined her meal. We received only apologies and desserts in response. For a place like No Fifty Cheyne, the lack of proper service standards and genuine accountability was truly disappointing.
Sunday lunch. Arrived for Sunday Lunch on time at 1pm - difficult to get to table due to another customers large dog in the way that they were unwilling to move. Long wait to order, so we ordered champagne / old fashioned aperitifs, wine for meal, and food all together. 45 mins after arriving still no sign of our drinks, bottle of wine arrived and offered to be tasted ahead of champagne / cocktails. Champagne and Old Fashioned's then arrived at same time as roast, ugh. Food was universally cold - gravy, potatoes, cabbage - all dead on arrival. Chicken was lovely, but lamb and beef were meh. Yorkshire puddings had possibly been cooked on Wednesday, soggy and (you guessed it), cold. Ordered dessert, as included as part of the sharing roast. Three desserts arrived, waited a further 10 minutes for the fourth (a second sticky toffee) which we had to chase on. Also cold. Raised the late drinks and they took two off the bill. A seriously underwhelming experience from both a service and food perspective. Should have been lovely - won't be going back.
We left the restaurant rather underwhelmed. For a place that presents itself with such confidence, the basics were surprisingly amiss. We waited an inordinate amount of time for bread, eventually having to ask for it, only for it to turn up alongside our mains — hardly ideal. The cocktails were another disappointment. Despite arriving before the table next to us, we watched their drinks appear within minutes while ours took far longer, which didn’t go unnoticed. As for the food, the Beef Wellington was passable — certainly not the standout we’d hoped for. The Yorkshire pudding, however, was genuinely good, one of the few highlights of the meal. Overall, it felt like a series of small missteps that added up to a rather lacklustre experience. For a place that was so rated on instagram, it was not as expected. Not terrible, but far from impressive.
I had waited months to come here for my birthday. We dined on Sunday at 6:30pm. The venue was really nice and the waiter was polite but everything else about the service was absolutely rubbish.. - Drinks to didn’t turn up - Food, although tasted amazing, was served room temperature - Wrong items on the bill….twice! - No check backs -Staff arguing with each other in front of us - No one asked us for another drink even though we finished our wine halfway through meal It was just so poor…for the price you pay and level of food you serve the overall experience was bad
