It doesn't get better than this, with lebanese cuisine being among my favourite, Sahara didn't disappoint. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very special by the staff. Having chose to sit outside lentil soup was my choice of starter. Again I cannot stress the attention to detail of all staff. We were given complementary houmous and bread while we waited for our main, after our meal we were again complimented with baklava which was very welcomed. Will definitely be revisiting this gem again soon.
I ate chicken which was very yummy, I ordered shish kabab which was delicious, the salad the kabab and just everything. The atmosphere was great and they had Awesome service. You must come here, this is a Awesome place.
Honestly from the moment I stepped in the service and hospitality was exceptional. The waiters welcomed me and directed me to a table and immediately gave me a menu, and then took my order. In the meantime I was chit chatting with the waiter who was really friendly. The food was really delicious and I really recommend this food place as it’s suitable for any event and for all group sizes.
The mixed grill was excellent, and the dessert was absolutely delicious. Our server, Aniseh, was incredibly friendly and accommodating she even brought water for our dog and served us with a warm, genuine smile throughout. Highly recommend!
Had an awesome experience here. Afshin was very good in taking care of us. Had the roast lamb from here after he suggested the same and it was splendid. Will surely come back for more !
I always love coming to Sahara. From the customer service to the quality of food and drinks is exceptional. The owner and manager are super friendly and you can tell they are passionate about providing top notch service. I will highly recommend.
Wow wow wow … What a food and excellent service … Sahara Lebanese Cuisine the best ever experience… Thank You Yaz for your excellent service 🙏
Amazing, just amazing, a very authentic and flavorful Lebanese food, a joy in every bite A+ star to their chef. They have the best roast lamb, Tabouli and Babaganooj I have ever tried (coming from an Arabic person so you know it’s good 👍🏻). It was so good that me and my friends went there 3 days in a row!!! Great service and friendly staff. Cosy atmosphere. Easy parking.
Sahara is a small but efficient Lebanese restaurant located at St. John's Wood High St. The food was extremely flavorful and we loved every dish we tried. The chicken was juicy and one of the most well-marinated pieces of chicken I have ever had. Highly recommend!
Was passing through the area and I found my self at sahra. From the outside I was drawn in; it looked cozy and clean. I was greeted at the door by the waiter who had a smile on his face. Their service was more than I could ask for. I ordered mixed grill with rise and some starters. The food was perfect. I finished the night with some shisha which is new to their menu. Thank you to all the staff at sahra I will definitely be coming back with my friends and family
One of the best places you will ever encounter, and relatively cheap, too! Overall very good place. The pizza is AMAZING(when it arrives it literally looks like the pizza from ads - without special effects!), and we also, we got some free balaclava at the end! (Maybe get be slightly expensive, but overall 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)Very nice! 👍 ################################# Just in case anyone doubts the legitimacy of this review, this is NOT SPONSORED, and is written with my opinion in mind, without influence of other reviews to gain popularity.
Lovely and clean Lebanese restaurant in a cute area. Great food with combos offering. Good flavours and portions. Service was great too.
Good restaurant with quality food and service. Prices are on the higher side. One point to note: many Lebanese restaurants usually provide complementary starters such as olives, which were not offered here. Overall, it was a positive experience.
Sahara is a lovely Lebanese restaurant and is superbly situated on St John's Wood High Street. It has lots of indoor & outdoor seating. The food is delicious & everything on the menu is just scrumptious. The coffee is exquisite especially when paired with the baklava which is heavenly. The staff are polite and friendly. I would highly recommend Sahara for any foodie lovers.
Great place! They were friendly to my dog and even gave him water! That's a rarity for restaurants in this area. The food tasted great and the speed of service was great too. The staff were lovely as well and it was just right. I got to enjoy my time with my colleague before they left the country. I'd say the mains are somewhat pricey but I've not tried them enough to day whether they're worth the price. I'd assume it's just fitting to the area more than anything else.
Visited for dinner this evening and really enjoyed the food. Good atmosphere. Good service. I had a burger and family members had the lamb and chicken shawarma sandwich. For desset, we had a selection of bakhlawa and the Lebanese coffee. All very nice.
Amazing restaurant, the place looks beautiful and classy met with great customer service. The food is absolutely delicious, no regrets in eating here. I would definitely recommend eating here!
Delicious food great service ! Free baklava :)
Excellent food, very light and healthy but also filling. My mum greatly enjoyed her grilled king prawns that were fresh and she said the biggest she has had. The Kafka Matija, grilled lamb I had was lovely.
Food was amazing, service was warm and the baklava was the best
The best Lebanese food and such a friendly staff!!
Couldn’t be more to ask, Food service and atmosphere. Definitely I will be back
Brother-in-law recommended this for a foursome night out. Restaurant was understandably quiet for a pandemic Saturday night out. But, it is a small place with a delightfully cosy feel. And the food was excellent. I read another review which said portions were small fro the price. Not my experience at all. After tasty starters we had 2 main dishes between the 4 of us and it was enough. The mixed grill dish (lamb and chicken) was cooked tastily and tenderly. The other dish was the okra stew to add a saucy flavour. All faultless. And we did have room for dessert with an apple pie coming my way. Very highly recommended.
À spontaneous visit- everything was great. Tasty food, good service. Thank you.
I had the chance to visit Sahara during my visit to London. The service was great, and the food even better, felt like home, felt like Lebanon. The manager was very welcoming and the atmosphere in general was amazing. Cannot wait to be back, to be able to try more of their menu that is bursting with flavor and the Lebanese heritage. I definitely recommend eating at Sahara and giving their incredible food a try, i loved it, you’ll love it too !
Very great, better than other restaurants like this in Brazil
Great local Lebanese. Mixed grill platters are sizable and delicious. The staff is hospitable and kind. Highly recommended!
I love this place. The people are friendly and the food is DELICIOUS. I always leave satisfied and feeling like I had a very yummy, clean meal.
I have been going here for years! On my local high street, whether it’s picking up a shawarma wrap lunch special or dining in for dinner. The food is always delicious and the manager is wonderful, he always is present and interacting with customers. Lovely staff who are all friendly, the chilli sauce is legendary.
Big portions tasty grilled chicken really enjoyed the starters especially moutabel and taboulah salad sweet stuff so helpful recommend a place
Excellent food, very kind staff. Even though I arrived late I was able to take advantage of the lunchtime prices. The sweets offered at the end were a much appreciated touch of courtesy!
I recently visited this Lebanese restaurant and was blown away by how delicious everything was! The food was bursting with authentic Middle Eastern flavours, from the perfectly seasoned Shish taouk to the tabbouleh and creamy hummus. Every dish tasted homemade and full of care. The service was just as amazing with friendly staff members. What really made the experience extra special was the lovely surprise at the end which was a complimentary piece of baklava with the bill! It was sweet, flaky, and the perfect way to finish off a great meal. If you’re looking for genuine Lebanese cuisine with good portion, great atmosphere, and thoughtful touches, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!
Good Lebanese Restaurant. But, IMHO it's overpriced, I'll try to explain why: I order a chicken sawarma 12,99£ and tea 3,99£. Cheap ingredients without any serious taste or quality, small portion of food for the price and 1 tea bag with 200 ml of water. Restaurant is pretty nice, a lot of staff, quick service, clean toilet's, 1 TV, a good variety of food, drinks and alcoholic drinks but you get absolutely standard food like in every kebab shop just for double price. Price/quality/quantity is the only reason for -1 star.
We are there for team lunch from our office. They have good service but little slow. Food was good and expected. I feel little expensive than other restaurants in St. John wood. I like vegetarian food there Falafel wrap and bataka wrap. The veggie platter also good to try. The fresh food and yum.
Good food at decent price and good portion for where it is based. Friend of my who is visiting form Nepal loved his mixed grill. Definitely worth a visit.
Really enjoyed the lunch menu here. Delicious food with great service and lovely atmosphere. Really nice local restaurant and especially loved the hummus, great flavours!
Good Mediterranean food, lot of choice, good service. The lamb could have been more tender, but overall it's a good place for a pleasant lunch/dinner!
A pleasant restaurant located in Saint John's Wood high street serving Lebanese cusine. Service is attentive and efficient. Food is tasty and well prepared. There is seating available outside street side and indoors. Friendly atmosphere deserving a visit.
The food is here is great. I love the wraps, the hummous and the falafel. The wraps are quite pricey though.I dont think a shawarma or a shish taouk wrap should cost £15.99!
I was explore St John's Wood to write a review for my blog. I was with a friend who wanted to dine at Shara. We at lunch, he had meat, I had veggie mezze. The falafel was very good, so was the hummus and tabouleh. The service was quick and very good. It's a good place if you want a healthy lunch. It's probably not the best for a romantic meal as interiors are clean but cold and the lighting was very bright, a bit too bright for my liking. I took a few pictures for you.
Wanted to order a wrap, no wraps available to ordered shawama that was basically the same but more expensive, the lamb was old and stale, the fries were frozen out of a bag, I had a rice with minced lamb as a side, barely any lamb, 2 lebanese bottled beers, £7.95 each, portion sizes modest, with the choices available along St. John's Wood high street, won't be rushing back, have been several times over the years and never had cause to moan.
Not a true restaurant. The bread is microwaved behind the bar. The mixed grill for 2, is not worth the price at all, the chips given was still half raw and it was a kids portion chips. The lamb chops was definitely made days ago or something it was the most toughest thing ever, the knives given doesn't even cut it. The wings were the best, but only gave 3 wings to share, how is that a skewer of wings? The knefe was also microwaved behind the bar. I wonder what they actually cook fresh? Everything seemed microwaved!!! Can of drink 3.50??!! Go elsewhere people, way way cheaper places and better staff not once did they ask how was everything and add service charge.
Never going there anymore, THEY CHARGE YOU MORE THAN YOU SPEND, Iasked for Lebanese bread they brought wet, crispy bread on salad very oily , unprofessional staff, I would rate - minus 5 if it was possible, shame on them
On Sunday I found myself in St Johns Wood at lunchtime and seeing this lovely looking restaurant I sat outside and ordered some kibbeh, some lebanese rice and a fresh melon juice. The service was friendly and very efficient. However the food was terrible. The kibbeh tasted virtually of nothing, the tiny portion of lebaneses rice had no flavour I could discern, and my very small melon juice appeared to be mainly water with a hint of melon flavour. I thought it pointless to say anything because the poor staff could do nothing. Very sad experience.
The price range to portion size was ridiculous, the menu for a 2 person platter was hardly enough for one person. There was a hair in my drink and the price on the menu was not clear as it was around £40 but they added in small font 'per person' and our total was £109 for the tiniest bit of food.
I come to this restaurant all the time being someone who lives in St John’s Wood. Often with my meal we are given a side of carrots and cucumber- today I took my one year old and I ordered a full meal for myself and husband and even food for our baby. My baby was getting agitated while waiting for the food so I asked the server kindly if we could have some of the cucumber that they usually give to distract my son and he brought some over (with our food) so really it was hardly eaten… when the bill came at the end I was charged £6 for the cucumber - it was about 5 sticks of cucumber. I questioned the manager who said this is the price of cucumber and what did I expect to pay. It was outrageous and he didn’t budge that 5 slices of cucumber was £6. Wouldn’t visit this establishment again and will be sure to let other locals know that you can’t take a hungry baby to the restaurant without being slapped with a big bill.
The food was disappointing for the price — portions were small and rather bland. However, the staff were friendly and polite.
Food portions of restaurant very small. I can buy a whole lamb shoulder for 20 pounds and they charge that for 1 shawarma plate which barely has any meat. Disappointing, used to be my favourite place but much better places out there in London who even give free sides with a meal order. Very unlikely I will visit again.
I’ve been to this restaurant twice now, the first time I had the chicken shawarma and it was extremely overpriced and nothing like a usual Lebanese chicken shawarma but I thought I’d come back and give it another chance. The second time I had the chicken kabsa and I was extremely disappointed. Somehow it was more expensive than the last meal and 10x worse. It was clearly with microwave rice and the chicken had been picked apart and just placed on top of the rice. I’m afraid to say this restaurant isn’t authentic at all and is extremely overpriced. The food here is as authenticity Lebanese as falafel is isreali.
Scammers, please save your money and don’t go. Absolutely horrible, I went today and the food was very bad, no taste, no pepper or salt. I asked for garlic sauce they didn’t bring it. I order green tea and they charged me £20 and another £20 service charge.
