Our experience at Sticks’n’Sushi was simply phenomenal. From the moment we arrived until we left staff were entirely attentive, ensuring we had a positive time. We ordered the ‘Set for Success’ sharing platter, aswell as some Nigiri and cocktails. The food was so fresh and every bite was delicious and cocktails were so creative, unlike anything we’ve had before. Portion sizes were perfect and we left perfectly full and delighted with our experience. Would definitely, definitely recommend!!!!
A group of us with kids had a good lunch in this restaurant. The food was great & beautifully presented. We ordered x3 sticks menu Tsukune for the children and they loved it. For the adults we ordered x2 Set of Success & ala cart mixed nigiri (sushi). Everything came out delicious. Our server, Naima has been wonderful. She gave recommendations and advice as it’s our 1st time here. She made sure all our food & drinks arrived and was always nearby when we needed service. Top notch service from her. Thank you Niama & team for making our lunch comfortable. The only thing that’s on the negative side was the lighting. The big table we were allocated to was a bit on the dark side. It was not conducive for photo taking & reading the menu comfortably. Perhaps next time we will request for a brighter table, especially when dining with kids. Visit date : 8th November 2025
Amazing sushi!! Super fresh salmon and tuna, really good quality! We ordered one of their pre-set menus for 3 people and it was definitely worth it! There was so much food and the variety was amazing! We really loved the summer roll-like sushi and cauliflower with sesame oil, such interesting flavours!! Definitely recommend to try! But everything was super tasty! Also the atmosphere was lovely, not too loud and the interior looks fantastic. Staff were very attentive as well, super quick service. Lastly, definitely recommend their matcha desert!!
This was our third time visiting Sticks Sushi, and it never disappoints. The food is absolutely amazing—fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented every time. The customer service is outstanding; the staff are friendly, attentive, and make the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Their cocktail selection is also a big highlight—creative, well-made, and the perfect match for the food. Sticks Sushi has quickly become one of our go-to spots in London, and we’ll definitely be back again.
The sushi was excellent—super fresh salmon and tuna, with very good overall quality. We ordered the Four Meal Drive menu and it was definitely worth it. There was a generous amount of food and a great variety, making it ideal for sharing and it had very interesting and well-balanced flavours. Everything we tried was consistently tasty and well presented. The atmosphere was lovely: not too loud, comfortable, and the interior design looks fantastic. It’s a good place to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. The staff were friendly, attentive, and efficient, and service was impressively quick despite the restaurant being busy. A 12.5% service charge is applied, which felt reasonable given the level of service. The only downside was the lighting. The table we were seated at was quite dark, which made reading the menu and taking photos uncomfortable. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend it.
Absolutely fantastic experience. Wonderful knowledgeable staff, patient and always checking on us. Food was beautiful. And a very generous slice of chocolate ice cream cake compliments of the restaurant for our birthday 🎂. Prices were exceptional too...
We had the ‘As Good as it Gets’ menu for three people. It was a fantastic food experience with an insane amount of variety. Everything was delicious, and even the simple things (such as the Edamame) were taken to a new level. The service was attentive as expected. The atmosphere was lovely, and the only issue I could find with it was that the lighting was slightly inconsistent depending on your table (we saw people using their phone torch to read the menu). Other than that, we have no complaints. Looking forward to visiting again!
Traveling different countries and living in a coastal town where seafood is fresh and plentiful, this happened to be the absolute best sushi we have ever had. Fresh.creative.thoughtful.flavorful. We opted for the Full House to get a variety taste. From the vegetarian role that we would have never anticipated was vegetarian to a seaweed salad. Tuna tartare appetizer also, yum. Our food was incredible. Would recommend and have told our stateside friends before returning home about this place. Wonderfully crafted sushi that tastes amazing without the added sauces.
I had the pleasure of dining here yesterday and the experience was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, creating the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The staff went above and beyond – attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel cared for throughout the evening. The food was outstanding – the sushi was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish, from starters to dessert, was carefully prepared and delicious. The drinks complemented the meal perfectly, and finishing with dessert was the cherry on top of a wonderful evening. It’s rare to find a place where everything – food, service, and atmosphere – comes together so flawlessly. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.
A Fresh and Fantastic Sushi Experience We had such a great time at this restaurant. The sushi was unbelievably fresh, and every dish tasted amazing. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were genuinely friendly throughout our visit. Our food arrived very quickly, and despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately. A wonderful spot for anyone who loves quality sushi and great service.
Fabulous food, we tried yakatori, some small hot plates, and a sushi platter and everything ws divine! The Japanese bramble cocktail was also super tasty. Will definately be back!
Food: we ordered a starter made of seaweed, fish egg and crab meat, salmon sashimi, mini selection of sushi, and scallop skewers and Iberian pork skewers. Honestly I love all of them, fresh ingredients, well made and presented, and some of them are even quite creative. Especially enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, quite modern and cozy. We visited at Friday night, it was quite busy but still not felt too noisy or crowded.
Excellent service and food as usual! Yo Anna P. Was very friendly and attentive. The atmosfere was relaxed and then food was top notch! A very nice evening overall!
A truly delightful dining experience! The Jungle Salad was exquisite - a vibrant mix of crisp greens topped with perfectly grilled salmon, succulent prawns, and tender seared tuna. Every bite was a fresh, flavorful surprise. The Kinoko Korokke (mushroom croquettes) were another standout - crispy on the outside, rich and earthy inside, elevated beautifully by the silky miso aioli and truffle dust. The service was warm and attentive. I’m already looking forward to my next visit at SticksNSushi!
Great food, great vibe. Team manages to sit us 4 pax at short notice. Great service in an incredibly busy spot. All kudos to the team
Me and my husband love Sticks n Sushi and first discovered it in Westfield London. My favourite dishes have always been the beef tataki and wagyu skewer This time as it was my birthday we decided to go to Covent Garden and to try a set menu - Set For Success. We were even able to swap out one of the skewers to Wagyu (with the additional cost) which I really appreciated the flexibility! We even got caviar and it was so delicious - the tempura shrimp is overwordly - it is absolute perfection and so is the salmon sashimi. Everything is so delicious and fresh and the service was so kind - all the staff really made an effort to make our experience delightful and even brought out a dessert on the house with a candle!
Perfect as always: amazing food, a great atmosphere, and absolutely wonderful staff. We had dinner before the ballet, and despite being a bit rushed, everything was served right on time without any compromise on quality.
Really great food, staff were tentative. Had two x set menu and there were so much food!
They were very accommodating given that we literally arrived 45mins before their kitchen was closing. From the limited food we ordered, everything was amazing. The kid enjoyed her meal and the portion was great for two adults. Next time we are in town, I’d definitely return to try the rest in their menu.
I had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Japanese restaurant in London, and I must say, the experience surpassed all expectations. The Sashimi, undoubtedly the highlight of the meal, was incredibly fresh and expertly prepared, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity. The ambience of the restaurant is simply delightful, creating a serene and inviting atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. The attention to detail in the decor and the calming ambiance make it a perfect setting for a relaxing meal. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an exceptional Japanese dining experience in London. Whether you are a connoisseur of Japanese cuisine or simply looking to enjoy a memorable meal, this establishment is a must-visit.
All dishes I tried were amazing. Highly recommend the lobster & ikura temaki.
Had an amazing experience at Sticks’n’Sushi in Covent Garden! The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented, and the dumplings were packed with flavour — definitely a highlight of the meal. The atmosphere was modern and stylish making me feel warm and welcoming, perfect for both a casual bite or a special night out. Great service and a great vibe. Would definitely go back!
Absolutely loved my experience at Sticks. I've been to the canary wharf one before, and this was my first time trying this one. Service was outstanding, what was a closed out area (the front garden) was opened up for myself and friend for us to be able to bask in the sun. It was glorious. I didn't get his name, but he was the young light skinned man, who went above and beyond in us having a great experience. Food was top tier as per, so tasty and nourishing. I like that you can pick how many sticks you want, and the variety. I had a few sticks the teriyaki chicken balls and the sweet potato teriyaki. Cooked to perfection and so well presented. My friend opted for the prawn and shrimp salad. My uni friend and I had a fab time.
Excellent food ! Such a wide range of dishes ! The miso soup was perfect as was the tempura broccoli !
My husband and I treated ourselves to the theatre and a nice meal at stick’n’sushi. Service was great and the food impeccable. It is just so freshly made. Amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great too. The only downside of the evening was that they did not offer as a warm hand towel to clean our hands (as they normally do), that is such a lovely touch.
Brilliant food, amazing taste. I am not a big sushi fan but was blown away by the taste. The sticks with various grilled meats were also delicious. Highly recommend the wagyu, prawn and crab croquette.
It was our first time dining here, came for my sons birthday treat. Food was outstanding and the service 👌 just didnt like the atmosphere; its way too dark and very noisy. It was rammed with people too, I'd like to sit outdoors in the summer next time 😍 the lady (sorry didnt catch her name) at the front desk was lovely, recommended really nice things to us!
Today I chose this place to celebrate my birthday because I thought it would be the perfect spot and I’m so glad I did. Even though there was a small confusion with my booking at the beginning, the team quickly arranged another table for me. I asked for something quieter and they did their best to accommodate me. The sushi was absolutely amazing fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. I had been dreaming about this sushi for a long time and it did not disappoint. The cocktail was also perfectly made. But what truly made my evening special was the service. My waitress, Shivana, was warm, kind and attentive. She checked on me with genuine care. When I was ready to leave, she surprised me with a birthday dessert. I did not expect it at all and it truly touched my heart. Even when you celebrate alone, one person saying “Happy Birthday” and sharing that moment with you can mean so much. Thank you, Shivana, for being part of my birthday. It meant more than you know.❤️
Went here for a quick bite in NYE with no booking. Very polite staff organized a table for 2. Food is absolute high quality and tasty. Even this is a tourist hot spot, amazingly good. Absokut Recommendation. At finally very good espresso
Restaurant was quite full, therefore we only had a table for one hour. Food was very good, my son did not Luke his Maki with cucumber, He said it was Not tasty enough. My salad Was very good, Price was high, but I believe thats normal for London and that area
Sushi and maki plata was good. All sashimi including tuna taste fresh. I’m not sure about cheese in maki though. I personally didn’t think the taste goes well. We were serve water constantly which is good as we don’t have to keep asking. Atmosphere is modern contemporary with music a little on the loud side. Would have preferred it to be less loud.
Original - Fair price - Tasty. Fast and nice vibe. I used to come have dinner to this place each time I didn't know where to go, where to bring friends/parents/boyfriend. The vibe is quite noisy but really nice, young with a bit of music, dark atmosphere. You can come dressed as you like. The menu is huge, you will find sushis, sashimis, fish, meet, rolls, salads and many more. They have some key plates that I always take such as: the cauliflower with truffle sauce, brocoli with sesame miso sauce, salmon tataki, beef tataki with soy marinade. If you like to drink, they have nice cocktails as well! 🍸 The price is so fair for London, you eat good and it's not that expensive. We were given a table right in front to the entrance door, it was so cold that I asked to change for the high tables downstairs. It is not as uncomfortable as it looks like. The waitress was new and soooo nice!! Her boss came to help her, you could tell that they were a nice team.
Sticks’n’Sushi in Covent Garden has a sleek vibe with a terrace for outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the sashimi really stood out for its freshness. Sushi was good, though not a standout, while the crispy fried chicken hit the spot. The skewers, however, were a bit too sweet and heavy on the sauce for my taste. Overall, a solid choice if you’re after stylish sushi in central London.
Really loved this place, great service, the waitress was very helpful when we couldn't pick from the menu, so many choices! And the food was excellent.
My partner and I went to Sticks’n’Sushi in Covent Garden for lunch last Sunday. It wasn’t my first time, and I’ve been to several of their branches before. The food was excellent, as always, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, I found the service rather average compared with their other locations. The staff didn’t seem particularly friendly, and they weren’t as attentive as I’ve experienced elsewhere. If you haven’t been to Sticks’n’Sushi yet, you really should go and give it a try. And make sure you order the gyoza, the Green Gate, and the cauliflower, they’re absolutely outstanding.
Sushi was generally good, I got panko Ebi or tempura Ebi sushi. Service was nice in the sense that waiters/waitresses top up water. Side comment: hand dryer in the ladies’ toilets wasn’t on or working.
Food was amazing, service was great, the seating was uncomfortable, the tables too small for 4 and we had to use the torch on our phones to see the menu.
Pros: great food and our main waiter (Simon) delivered a good service First time trying Wagyu to see what the fuss was about and it was ok. Cons: we asked for the “filtered” tap water to be removed from our table as it still tastes well, like tap water. The ginger waiter was a bit argumentative about it (probably because he could not charge us for it), and said “you need to stay hydrated, which I agree and this is why I drink at least 2L of water a day so please don’t worry about me, worry about yourself🤣 For some reason we waited 30 between starters and the mains? In all, I don’t think the £15 service charge was justified so really hope for a perfect experience next time.
Nice restaurant with good vibes and a nice ambience. A wide variety of items on the menu and a lot of different choices. A wide selection of vegetarian items are also available. The staff are also very cognizant of dietary needs which was nice to see! Was a bit dark in the restaurant and the seats were a bit uncomfortable.
Food was okay, complicated menu although eclectically fun. I had the impression I wasn't welcome for the entire time, maybe because I didn't order a drink, or maybe because they were just busy. They sat us at the bar and we still couldn't get our glasses filled. Disappointing.
Had a set menu (forgot what the set was) but was quite expensive. And the food was not memorable nor special considering the price. The only menu I was satisfied with was the tataki, and the rest did not have a huge difference compared to any other take away sushi restaurants. Also their specialty grill skewers were a bit cold when we had it and this also was not impressive. The atmosphere was alright, but not ideal for a date. I would look for a quieter romantic place. I paid around £150 for this whole meal and would be looking for a better place to spend +£100 next time.
The starter is amazing but the sushi is average. The service is fantastic. One of the best in London. The waiters, especially Paulo, and waitress are very patient and friendly to handle our special case. We had allergy for eggs and they did a lot to handle the case like altering food from the set menu.
I'm a big fan of Sticks & Sushi and have been to several of their locations, all of which have received 5-star reviews from me. However, the Covent Garden branch seems to consistently underperform compared to the others. The food itself is still very good. The sushi platter we ordered was excellent - fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients and preparation is on par with what I've experienced at their other restaurants. However, the service is really where this location falls short. The server seemed more focused on socializing with their coworkers than attending to our table. It took a very long time to get our order taken, get refills, and even get the bill. They just didn't seem engaged or interested in providing a good customer experience. While the pricing is consistent across Sticks & Sushi locations, the poor service here just doesn't live up to the standard I expect from this restaurant group. The food is still great, but the lack of attentive service drags down the overall experience. Overall, I'd rate this particular Sticks & Sushi location a 3 out of 5. The food is still top-notch, but the service issues are hard to overlook. I'll continue visiting their other London locations, but I'd be hesitant to come back to this Covent Garden branch unless I hear the service has improved.
Loved their miso soup, padron peppers, and kanni korokke. Average nigiri and maki. Next time, I might skip sushi and stick to their sticks and other sides.
The food was actually v good for the UK. Tasted amazing and came out pretty quickly, but we felt that the service was atrocious. Me and a girlfriend are younger, so they treated us like children, saying they could squeeze us in at the bar, meanwhile there were plenty of other tables available. We were judged v heavily throughout, with waiters dropping glasses, coughing and not knowing what we were being served. Later when it came to pay, we asked for it to be split a certain way, and she completely messed up somehow. Seems like the service needs to up to match the quality of food…
The only good thing about this place is the food, which in fairness is why you come to a restaurant. However we had to ask to order our food while the staff walked around with their heads in the clouds staring at the floor. When we finally got someone’s attention to place an order, they missed one of our choices; probably due to the fact that the place is extremely noisy. The lighting is poor meaning you need to move your head out of the shadow of the lighting just to read the menu. Not an amazing experience however the food is great.
Visited Stik & Sushi with a friend and I’m afraid it was a rather disappointing experience from start to finish. The sushi itself was quite poor — lacking in freshness and flavour, and oddly enough had an unpleasant aftertaste. Not once did anyone come over to check whether we were happy with our food or offer to replace it with something else. Which, frankly, is the bare minimum one would expect. The service, however, was where things truly fell apart. Our soft drinks were forgotten at the beginning of the meal, and when we ordered cocktails, they simply never arrived — until we had to chase them up ourselves after a good half hour of waiting. Not quite what you’d expect, really. Genuinely the worst service I’ve encountered in London, and that’s saying something. We shan’t be returning.
SERVED RAW CHICKEN and RUDE STAFF MEMBER! I usually absolutely love this restaurant – it was one of my favorites and I go there quite often. The food is always lovely, and most of it was again last night... apart from the completely raw chicken karaage we were served. As soon as I picked up a piece, I noticed it felt squidgy – but I didn’t think much of it as I trusted the standards of this restaurant and I ate it with sauce which was all I could taste, so I didn’t expect any issues. After eating 2 pieces, my friend then took a bite and immediately said it didn’t seem cooked. When we checked, we could see that every piece was totally pink throughout, jelly-like in texture, and visibly raw. We complained to our waiter, who was shocked. He was genuinely apologetic and I appreciate that it obviously wasn’t his fault. Because we were so concerned about what we had just eaten, we made ourselves sick (not sure if this is the right thing to do) but we were panicking about raw chicken being in our system. No chef came out to apologise or explain – only the poor waiter. Eventually, the manager came over and said he would discount our bill. However, all he removed was the service charge and the chicken itself. The manager seemed somewhat understanding but not very apologetic, however did eventually offer to clear the bill. But then another member of staff (I believe her name was Kay) came over, and this was honestly the worst part of the whole experience. She abruptly told us the chicken is delivered to them “pre-cooked”** and insisted, “I promise you 120% that chicken was not raw.” She basically explained that she didn't see it for herself, but her team said 'the customers thought it was raw' and didn't confirm that it was. I showed her the photo, but she spoke down to us as if we were clueless – saying things like “of course it’s cooked” and “you don’t know how food poisoning works.” When we tried to respond, she raised her voice and snapped, “Let me speak, do not speak over me.” When we said we wasn't happy to pay, she said "just leave" in the rudest tone. **A direct quote from their website: "So for those less keen on fish, there is a selection of chicken, pork, beef and vegetable skewers – all grilled fresh to order" - to me, this is a little deceiving consider the staff confirmed it isn't actually cooked fresh. It was incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional – especially considering the seriousness of what had happened. The waiter was lovely, the manager wasn't terrible, but Kay completely ruined any chance of us walking away feeling heard or respected. I wish I didn't let the waiter take the chicken away, because if the chicken was in front of Kay, I am '120%' sure that she would NOT have eaten it!!! And from her rude attitude, I'm very sure if she was served this in a restaurant, she would have kicked off a lot more than my friend and I did. I wouldn't even have left this review if it wasn't for her!
I had a terrible experience with Bert and Kate. They claimed half of our order is missing & my partner had to sit there with no food. “human error” as if tbat makes it acceptable ontop of having zero sympathy and ruining our valentines meal. The only thing they did was take it off our menu, whilst he sat there ages waiting for a meal thats not coming? Absolutely terrible service & care. Will not be coming back again.
I booked a Valentine’s dinner at Sticks’n’Sushi three weeks in advance and received multiple confirmations, including a credit card request, which gave me the impression that everything would be organised and professional — especially for a special occasion. I arrived on time for my 8:45 pm reservation, yet we were seated right next to the entrance door. It was extremely cold, and the staff said there was nothing they could do about the heating. For a “fancy” restaurant, this was already disappointing. What made it worse was the planner standing by the door. Just moments before speaking to me, I overheard him telling the table next to us that they were seated by the door because they arrived 15 minutes late and had missed their allocated table. I immediately spoke to him and explained that I had arrived on time, so why were we placed in such an uncomfortable spot? He looked me straight in the eye and told me that regardless of whether I had booked or not, that was the only table available when I arrived — which directly contradicted what he had just said less than a minute earlier. The inconsistency and dishonesty were extremely unprofessional. For a special occasion like Valentine’s Day, organisation and transparency matter. Unfortunately, this experience felt chaotic and poorly managed. I am a regular at Sushi Samba in Covent Garden and always have a fantastic experience there, so I expected a similar standard here. Sadly, this was not the case. When I asked for the service charge to be removed, no one even asked why or tried to understand what had gone wrong — which says a lot about their approach to customer care. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking this place for an important occasion. It may be fine for casual sushi, but it certainly didn’t deliver the organised, professional experience you’d expect for a special date night.
