Visited for an anniversary dinner. When I booked, the server wished us a happy anniversary which was lovely. The service was very attentive, always ensuring our water was topped up, describing the food from the set menu and checking in just the right amount throughout the meal. The Perfect Day set menu was delicious - definitely plenty of food for two! It was brought out at a steady pace and we were not rushed at all. To top it all off, when we'd ordered coffee at the end of our meal, they brought us out an ice cream on a stick - a lovely touch for our anniversary. We felt very looked after and left very full and happy. Thank you!
Great location and service and delicious food. We went for a set menu and it ticked all the boxes of sushi and sticks. The drinks were tasty and the service was friendly. They had a good atmosphere for a Friday night and it eventually picked up. Would definitely recommend getting the set menu as it has a good spread! Also, the chocolate matcha dessert was bliss! Sorry no pic as I devoured it as soon as it came!
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had recently. This lovely Japanese restaurant in Greenwich town centre is perfect for both families and special occasions. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the menu has plenty of options—tataki, sashimi, sushi, salads and grilled skewers. Every dish was fresh and delicious. I’ll definitely bring the family here next time.
Some of the best sushi we've had. The scallops from the hotate kotaifi course were incredible. We also really enjoyed the king fish sashimi. The kids enjoyed their food too and were welcomed with complimentary colouring and a drawing competition to win chocolate fish for the classmates! The wine was good, and the hosts were friendly. Highly recommended
I have no words to explain just how incredibly good the food from Sticks’n Sushi is. It’s not just food, it’s an experience, a work of art. Each dish brings a whole new blend of flavour. The ingredients are clearly of excellent quality as well. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice, and they are dog friendly as well, which is always a plus. Lastly, you can also order food to be delivered, which is just wonderful!
Just wow. This restaurant was a random choice and it exceeded all of our expectations. The ingredients were of the best quality and fresh. The dishes were noticeably carefully prepared and presented. We had “Set for Success” which includes starters and mains for £47 per person. For dessert we had the crème brûlé to goma and the shabetto. Everything was outstandingly delicious and good portions. The service was excellent, attentive, professional, always available, and there to give you the best experience. Worth every pence.
Lauren is amazing he’s a professional attentive very aware & knows the menu well properly🫶🏽he assisted my friend to order as it was her first time. I’m local I’ve been here multiple times I have to say hands 🙌🏾 down this time was my best experience I absolutely ♥️ sushi 🍱 thanks Lauren stay great & shining see you soon gorgeous💋 ✨
We have been coming here for years. Best sushi in London (coming from California). Many places don’t offer raw sushi and they do. They offer interesting flavors and the rice is cooked perfectly. They also offer fun mocktails which us non drinkers appreciate! Nice location, atmosphere and have always had attentive staff members. Thanks S&S!
What a lovely place to eat in lovely Greenwich! Greenwich is one of my favourite places in London and every time I take friends there to visit we try to go to a different place for food (if the time allows it). This sushi place serves really good Japanese food and the service is really nice. The staff was really friendly all the time. I also loved the decoration. A five stars for the skewers and the tuna tataki.
Me and my girlfriend went to Sticks’n’Sushi Greenwich for the first time and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Robust and Salmon & Friends sets, both were fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We also brought our little dachshund puppy, and the staff were so kind and accommodating with her, which made the evening even more special. A big thank you to Roberto for the warm, attentive and impeccable service. Great food, amazing staff, and even puppy-friendly. We’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely lovely sushi place! The staff where helpful and attentive from start to finish. All the dishes looked amazing, which made it hard to choose. And the ones we ordered arrived in a stunning presentation. Great bento options at a reasonable price for kids.
I visited this restaurant today and will definitely be coming back. The food is impeccably presented, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavours are well balanced. The staff are welcoming, attentive, and friendly, providing excellent service overall. The location is just a few steps from the Royal Maritime Museum, and the restaurant is cosy and quiet. An absolutely pleasant surprise: highly recommended!
In the cold rainy weather of London, Guide me to the warmth of Japan. To the culture, I am so fond of, touching the soul just like Chopin. To the known sticks of Yakitori, To the rolls filled with pure umami. To the sweet of mochi glory, vibrant place of flavour tsunami. Just a table of Eastern tapas, to share with the ones I truly love. Where the service focuses on us, to make it the reason, visits thereof. Nothing here will be short of special, you will have a night to remember. So come with love, the one called special, and let the evening be an venture. Absolutely fell in love with Sticks'n'Sushi. Their Yakitori offering is amazing. The Sweet Potato, wow! takes your breath away. The Miso Black Cod or teriyaki Salmon is exquisite choice with well balanced flavour pallet. But I think the evening star, besides the stellar service!!! Was the Cauliflower with truffle and black sesame sauce. A wonderful dish. This is an amazing place to come with friends and share an experience :)
Perusing the menu is so much fun. Lots of choices :)) Salads are on the last page. The meal was a bit late but very tasty.
We are regulars at stick and sushi in Greenwich. Over all the branches this definitely stands out with the service, the atmosphere, and the food is always better and better. The staff are so good to make you feel special and welcome, they even recognise you and remember the dishes you usually order and based on that they give you new suggestions of what to try (Mary is never wrong with what to order) This time Bishal was taking care of us along side with Mary. They were so attentive even with a fully booked restaurant. I could see how hard and smooth they were working. We continue to come to this restaurant because of this service. 10/10 perfect service and delicious food.
We had an amazing night celebrating birthday and proposal. Thank you to the staff and particularly to Prativa who went above and beyond to make this night really special for us. The service was impeccable and the food is to die for. Thank you again.
i would highly recommend!! the food was insane, the service was amazing and all the waiters were really nice 🙂↕️
Delicious food, great service! I mentioned it was my mums birthday on the booking & they remembered. Super attentive staff, will definitely be back!
The venue is really well designed, clean and with sufficient space between the big tables. The sushi is definitely high quality: every piece was cured and intact, and I want to highlight the good ratio between rice and fish, which in most cases leans more towards the former, leaving to the client little of fish to taste. My preference falls onto the rolls, they were literally melting in my mouth. The price is definitely fair for the quality of the food, and it would be an understatement to say I was largely satisfied quantity-wise. The staff was friendly, efficient and gave us plenty of time and room. Great restaurant, best for a big group (six would be ideal), highly recommended.
Took a friend there to try sushi for the first time and it was absolutely lovely. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. The staff were extremely polite, eager to help and just cheerful. This made our experience even better. I would highly recommend.
Really good food, great service. We got the tuna & avocado starter (pic attached) - it would have been nice if the tuna & avocado were on the 'biscuit' thing provided. Crab croquettes were fab. Sushi was really nice, but thought the prawn and crab were either a bit salty or a bit overcooked - but was still very good. Service was great, had a lovely waitress!
We had the honor and privilege of being served by the GM, Rafal, as we arrive to the restaurant in a very quiet time. Food freshness was outstanding and we couldn’t have a better service. Sticks n sushi always offers an extra Mille compared to other sushi places. We’ll come back. Thanks a lot Rafal
Great lunch with the family here. We were quickly seated and served. Food and drinks came out quite quickly. Delicious meals, amazing service and great staff who are always doing their jobs with a great passion and attitude.
Excellent experience at the best sushi restaurants in the area. Very fresh fish and very friendly staff. Exceeded my expectations and I will be back, again and again and again
Went there last year for our anniversary, food was great, ambience was great and staff was excellent. When the chef found out it was my wedding anniversary he sent a complimentary item and it was great. We went back again for my daughters birthday and still, didn't dissapoint me. If you're craving for sushi and great Japanese food, this is the place to be
Enjoyed a birthday meal for dad here. Dad is a diabetic and the chefs separated all the sauces to allow him to control his sugar (the sauces have lots!) during the delicious meal. Excellent sashimi and sushi, well prepared with tonnes of variety. Staff were fantastic and the vibe great, if a little noisy. Would recommend!
The food was really high quality and delicious, the ambience was very nice and clean. The service was very quick and our server Dave was very attentive and personable with us. Would definitely come back again!
Went for a meal with family and everyone enjoyed the fare. Service was attentive and prompt and the quality of cooking was delicious. The cocktails were nice as well.
Great choice of food,. One of the best sushi I ever had. Nice decor. Didn’t feel very welcomed though by the staff. Some of the staff very nice ( Greek lady) but not everyone. We have ordered 3 meals and only one of them arrived quickly, for the other two we had to ask after 20 mins wait. Don’t think I would go back there, maybe I would order take away as food was lovely, complimentary to the chefs.
February 2023: Decided to go there on valentine's day. This was also our first visit to Sticks'n'Sushi. The staff is amazing. From the lady who greeted us at the entrance to the waiter who served us and others, everyone was courteous and decent. The ambience was subtle and the dining chair & table were elegant. The food ( Vegetarian): There are some decent options here for vegetarians. We ordered Mama Mia, Beetroot tartare, Chili rice, Green gate salad and Sweet potato on stick. Every dish was absolutely delicious. The taste was just perfect. For drinks we had homemade lemonade and Sendai sunset. Both were just amazing! Really enjoyed the food and experience. Would definitely visit again.
Very nice sushi restaurant with a pretty upbeat vibe. Lots of tables close together which felt quite sociable though might not be everyone’s cup of tea. The sushi was pretty tasty, not the best we’ve had in London but probably the best we’ve had in this area and would come back again. The service was excellent. Shout out to Bishal! So polite, helpful and attentive, he elevated the whole experience for us.
First time here. The experience started with me not being able to hear what the waitress was saying and being confused "how" to order. However, once the food came it made sense. About the food, it was sooo good. I knew it had to be good but I was pleasantly surprised. Only negative was the price point and that bill was astronomically high.
The food served was absolutely delicious, although I wasn't a particular fan of the kani korokke. They were a little mushy for my tastes, but this is personal preference. The rest of the meal was extremely tasty, however, and the service was top notch with very attentive staff. The only reason for the 4 stars is the 'optional and discretionary service charge" of 12.5% that was already added to my bill. If it's already on my bill, it's neither "optional" nor "discretionary". You make it extremely difficult and uncomfortable for people to ask to have it removed. This is one of my biggest bug bears, as customers are the ones who should decide on whether they want to tip or not. Tipping in this country is not a custom. It is for exceptional service which goes above and beyond what is the usual standard. Please remove this, because if your staff are as good as they were during my visit, people will leave a tip. Edit: Thank you for the response to my review. However, I still take umbrage with the service charge. It is not standard practice in the UK hospitality industry. The UK is not a tipping nation, unlike the US, where it is more customary. Tipping, by it's very nature, is something that is done to acknowledge exceptional service. When you add it to a bill automatically, you make it extremely uncomfortable for the patron to ask for it to be removed. What you should do, and what is the right thing to do, is to have an option to tip. This is far more common in the UK hospitality industry. Stop adding it to the bill and let the customer decide.
Overall, not bad. I am a fan of Stick n Sushi back in Cambridge, but I did find some places for improvement here. Highlight - Staffs are so welcoming, excellent service. Atmosphere - a bit dark, otherwise very good. Very clean and spacious. Food: I am surprised that it doesn’t taste as their Cambridge branch. The dishes are the same but you can spot the subtle imperfections here. Notably, grilled edamame is not marinated/cooked enough to enable the seasoning inside the edamame (the Cambridge branch did this excellently). The beef tataki is in a smaller size, rim is slightly overcooked, and the slicing technique needs some improvement. The tuna tataki is totally under-seasoned. Overall to me, the marination is a big problem as the time isn’t long enough. Hope there can be some improvement when i come next time 🙂
Delicious food with top quality fish. Deserts were excellent too. Not a cheap experience but a pleasant dinner.
Had the set menu when we visited for lunch with cocktails. The food was okay, I’d say chose your own rather than set menu. The cod and miso sticks were good, the edamame was seasoned very well. Some of the ceviche was great. The duck stick with egg yolk wasn’t great though, wouldn’t order again. The scallops were good, the wagu tartar didn’t have much taste. A lot of it tasted quite sweet too. Staff were friendly and attentive though.
Delicious food. Great service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. You don’t have to only like sushi to eat here. There are a lot of meat ‘sticks’ which are yummy!
We frequently dine at Sticks'n'Sushi Greenwich, both in-person and through Uber Eats orders. On our recent visit, despite having a reservation for two, they initially tried to seat us at a cramped corner table. Only when they saw our dissatisfaction did they move us to one of the three available two-seater tables. The waiter was courteous and attentive. They presented us with a summer specials menu, but when we tried to order a ceviche along with other items from the main menu, we were told it wasn't possible since the summer menu was fixed. The biggest disappointment was the food. While the sushi here is usually decent, this time it was subpar. The tuna appeared pale and lacked freshness, resembling fish that had been frozen and thawed multiple times. The sushi rolls were drenched in eel sauce, and the prawn tempura tasted stale. We spent over £110 for a not ideal experience. We believe there are better dining options for that price.
The green salad was missing the avocado, one of the listed ingredients, and main reason why I ordered it. We waited more than 40 minutes to get the sticks and eventually we had to take it home as it was too late. The restaurant got colder and colder and eventually I had to put my wool scarf on. The staff started to clean up and prepare for closure before serving us the food. It felt rushed, chaotic and uninviting. It’s a pity, perhaps it’s the location, or just a one-off on a busy night. I have been several times at canary wharf location, and generally well satisfied.
We visited Stick & Sushi Greenwich and our first impression was positive: the girl who welcomed us and showed us to our table was very friendly. Overall, the food was good and the sushi was quite tasty. However, several details affected the experience. We ordered prawn and scallop sticks, which arrived cold, and throughout the meal no one came to the table to check if everything was alright or if we needed anything. We also ordered a miso soup, but we were never given a spoon, which went unnoticed due to the lack of attention from the staff. When we mentioned at payment that the skewers had arrived cold, there was no gesture of hospitality or apology, which was disappointing. Considering that we paid quite an expensive bill, the level of service did not match the price.
What a massive disappoint last Friday at this branch, which we have been coming since it first opened. We have never had a bad meal, even ordering takeaway during Covid. Last night was our first time in over a year and the food quality, taste and presentation has completely gone. We spoke with the manager who simply came up with excuses for the food , and did offer her apologies and offer additional dishes on the house. What they should have done was knock off the dish we complained about off the final bill of £160 for two people. I will start by saying, sushi and sashimi should not be served so ice cold it felt like it had had time to rest to chilling temp. The food appeared and tasted like it was pre made and served later, ie not fresh. Thou they will deny that, thou we have it on good authority that this branch does as the chefs aren’t qualified sushi chefs. The sashimi combo we order was truely aweful, the fish cut too think, ice cold and drowning in the sauce. Not worth the £45 price tag We ordered two portions of sticks, one lukewarm, the other cold. They did take them back and made some fresh, which we could tell. Overall, his branch has gone down in our books and won’t be returning.
