Had lunch at The Grill on Fifth at Jarrods. One of the best Caesar Salads with grilled chicken I've ever had. The grill chicken was layered throughout the salad and just placed on top as usual. The tomato and cucumber salad and drinks were just as good. High recommended resturant to visit along with the shops at Harrods! It will not disappoint!
Went with a couple of friends for lunch as we wanted try this new restaurant. We started with the seabass ceviche in yuzu dressing which was delicious as well as the lettuce wedge. We've then had the grilled salmon, rib eye steak and a burger, all very well prepared and very tasty. We had a side of potato mash with bone marrow gravy and roasted carrots. The mash was nice but we didn't like the curry spices used on the carrots as it altered the flavour. For dessert we had the chocolate fondant and cheese cake which were quite nice. Our waiters were very attentive and friendly and the ambience was lovely, bright and fresh.
Amazing service and incredible food. The truffle mac & cheese and the steaks are absolute musts. Aleksandr and Ion are outstanding professionals. Very cool vibe with a beautiful interior and atmosphere- it doesn’t feel like a mall restaurant at all. Definitely coming back!!
I visited The Grill on Fifth at Harrods yesterday to celebrate my birthday with my brother Gianluca who works at Harrods. We had an amazing time, enjoying delicious food and celebrating with a glass of champagne and Valpolicella red wine . The steak was exquisite, and the oysters were absolutely fresh. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and truly memorable!
We have been to The Grill on 5th Floor in Harrods a few times and on each time we had fabulous food and cocktails. Also, on both times we were lucky to have been served by Alexander He is such a credit to the Restaurant and we now have this as our go to restaurant when we are shopping in Harrods Thank you to the Team, but especially to Alexander
It was a treat to have lunch in Harrods, as I've never dined there. I met with a friend at the restaurant. Immediately I liked the mood lighting, which set a nice ambience. We were however seated on the rooftop, which I have to say was lovely. It was cosy and airy. The food itself was really delicious. I ordered a Sunday roast and I have to say that it's one of the best that I've had in a long time [I'm pretty picky about my food]. The staff were very attentive, professional and polite. I hope to dine here again soon. Would highly recommend.
A lovely restaurant located inside Harrods. It was a little difficult to find on our first visit, but the department store staff were extremely kind and happy to guide us. The service in the restaurant itself was excellent. Drinks and a few items took slightly longer to arrive than we expected, but we weren’t in a rush, so it didn’t affect the overall experience. The food was very well prepared — fresh, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. I wouldn’t necessarily describe the menu as particularly original, but it definitely matches the level and expectations of a restaurant in Harrods. Two dishes stood out to me in particular: the sea bass starter, which was absolutely outstanding, and the pineapple dessert, which was fantastic and very memorable for my taste. The meat was also very tasty, although the portion didn’t quite look like the full 1kg that was stated on the menu. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and it’s definitely a place we would return to.
A Lovely Dining Experience on the Fifth Floor at Harrods !! Dining on the fifth floor at Harrods today was truly a delight. The atmosphere felt refined yet welcoming, and the food was beautifully prepared with great attention to flavour and presentation. Every dish arrived looking elegant and tasted just as impressive. What made the experience especially memorable was the service. Our server—a young gentleman—was consistently attentive, warm, and genuinely friendly. He carried a natural smile throughout the evening and checked in at just the right moments, making us feel well looked after without ever being intrusive. His professionalism and positive energy added so much to the overall experience. A wonderful meal, lovely ambience, and exceptional service. I would happily return. .
To call this place a food court would be like calling the Taj Mahal a resting place for an old couple. Think more like a collection of fine dining if not Michelin starred restaurants in a collection of high end boutiques housed in the world of Harry Potter. 1st you would be remiss if you headed straight for one of the available eateries here without 1st stopping off at the gourmet open court international farmers market. Going into the many foodies dreams offerings they have everything from Dim Sum to Italian to even middle eastern. But we’re here to talk about the Grill; think British steakhouse. Top notch service unexpected for a “dining hall” The only issue was that my starter came out with my main course. I would’ve liked to have enjoyed my 18-Hour braised short rib croquettes along with my cherry & hibiscus soda before the main course. However since it was Christmas Eve and they were about an hour from closing I’m sure my order got away from them. Pro tip: don’t go last minute during the holidays. Seeing as such, I didn’t have a lot of time to look over the menu extensively, and decided to go with the recommendation of the 24-hour -marinated baby chicken, mashed potato with crispy onion and smoked butter and roasted spiced carrots. The chicken cooked beautifully, and again the brown sauce the Brit’s make to die for the mashed potato’s were decadent and the spiced carrots were amazing (I’ve never had carrots that good before) If you’re ever in London and want an experience along with a perfect place to people watch… go to the dining hall at Harrods it’s a trip well worth it… and the shopping there isn’t bad either ; )
Visiting The Grill at The Fifth at Harrods was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere immediately felt refined yet welcoming, with a buzz of energy from people who clearly appreciated quality and sophistication. Even though the restaurant was very busy, the service was impressively attentive and seamless, making the whole lunch feel effortlessly enjoyable. The highlight for me was the steak—it was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, a true treat for anyone who loves a good cut of meat. The attention to detail in presentation and seasoning really elevated the meal beyond the ordinary. Adding to the experience was simply being in such a glamorous environment. Seeing someone like Donatella Versace enjoying her lunch nearby made it feel extra special and memorable. For someone like me, coming from Romania and not often having the chance to be around such renowned figures, it added a touch of excitement and a sense of being part of something unique. Overall, The Grill at The Fifth is a destination where excellent food, refined atmosphere, and a hint of celebrity glamour come together perfectly. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly exceptional lunch experience in London—it’s a place that leaves a lasting impression.
I went there with my friends to celebrate my birthday and the atmosphere was really good as it was mostly empty which we liked. The service was really fast and excellent, they greeted us pleasantly and the food and drinks came rapid. The food was sublime specially the spatchcock grilled baby chicken.
An exquisite dinner. We ordered the tomahawk to share for 2 and it was an absolute masterpiece. Perfectly charred and rich in flavour. The Caesar salad was not something I was expecting but was an outstandingly delicious surprise to me, it definitely deserves to be tried no matter what you order. Waiters were very nice and we had a great moment overall
This is honestly the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. Harrods’ restaurants almost never disappoint and The Grill on Fifth continues that streak. I’ve probably visited more than 15 times over the years, from the Studio Frantzén days until now, and every visit has been consistently good. The food is always delicious, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere is comfortable without feeling crowded at all. Great steaks as well, and it’s the perfect place when you want fine dining standards with fantastic service. Highly recommended~ it’s truly one of the most reliable spots for a great Sunday roast.
I had a fantastic experience dining here. The food was beautifully fresh and full of flavour, with every dish prepared to a very high standard. The staff were attentive and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole visit a real pleasure. Excellent quality and service throughout –highly recommended.
A great spot with a stunning rooftop view, lovely light snacks, and beautiful white wine — perfect for summer. The staff were exceptional and took excellent care of us.
Wonderful experience, highly recommend and our waiter Lucia was fab thanks so much
The slow cooked Asian short ribs were very tender, fell off the bone. I paired it with the grilled tenderstem broccoli with tasty chimichurri sauce. I asked to be seated at the rooftop which was less busy and gave a panoramic view of London, with uninterrupted views of the London Eye and The Shard. Service from Ionut was absolutely lovely, he knew the menu well and was making good recommendations. Will definitely come back to avoid the chaos of other restaurants at Harrod’s.
Had a great time at the grill on 5th came for dinner and the food and drinks were amazing , Christopher was our server and he was amazing and gave us great recommendations !
Lovely rooftop vibes, will definitely be returning in summer. Great service from Ionut - super helpful on the menu, attentive with drinks and great chat!
Amazing experience at The Grill in Harrods! Special thanks to Roberta for her warm and helpful guidance — she made our visit even better.
Exceptional service, especially from Ionut! The terrace is gorgeous and beef croquettes to die for
Truly a wonderful experience my father and I had during lunch. From the reception, the staff, the food (exceptional), the wine selection, to the elegant yet bold decoration, everything was exquisite. I very much recommend !
A very nice dinner here with lovely service from Camilla who we knew from Studio Frantzen. She expertly guided us with our choices. The mushroom parfait was lovely and for mains the salmon with hollandaise sauce was delicious. The highlight was the pineapple dessert with yuzu sorbet. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the kitchen and a special thank you to Camilla for looking after us so well.
Amazing food, staff were super attentive. The basque cheescake was unreal!! Couldn't recommend this place more!
The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was great. The whole elegance and vibe of this restaurant was amazing. The service was first class as the staff were very attentive and caring. The food was 5star and we weren't made to wait for a long period. We Would definitely come back.
Lovely, genuine friendly and attentive service by Ionut. He made sure to check on us regularly but not too much and was very knowledgeable about the menu. I wanted a cocktail made that was not on the menu and Ionut kindly asked the bartender to make it, which was appreciated. Thank you for a lovely experience!
I had a pleasant time here although quiet crowded and noisy, the chef Mio and server Steffie were so kind and made the dining experience more bareable, food was tasty and well-cooked but portion size was questionable other than that, 10/10 experience.
Fantastic place for a lovely dinner. We had a very cozy soiree, great food and wine selection and Denis was the best staff with us! His service was impecable!
Food is really great. In particular the Cheesecake and Lobster macaroni. But overall it's not worth the price. The burger in particular, it's just one step up from a good takeaway burger, and the price is extortionate. Poor beer choices... Small bottle of beer for £10 no thanks. They'd run out of some of the side options.
I’ve been to The Grill many times and today’s Sunday roast was very good, as usual. The textures were spot on~ the steak was tender, the Yorkshire pudding had a nice crispness, and the beef stew inside was rich and comforting. From a cooking point of view, everything was done really well. The only downside today was the seasoning. Both the steak and the beef stew were too salty, which took away slightly from the natural flavour of the meat. I’ve noticed this can vary depending on the chef on the day, as I’ve had much better balance on other visits. Other than that, the quality and execution were great, and it’s still somewhere I enjoy coming back to. The Basque cheesecake was also delicious~ creamy, well balanced, and a lovely way to finish the meal. A lighter hand with seasoning would make it spot on.
Ate here last night with my girlfriend and had a pleasant experience but was left a little underwhelmed. The service from start to finish was excellent and cannot be faulted at all, great all round and the atmosphere was fantastic too, however the food was not quite as great as we were hoping. - The short rib croquettes were great, possibly the best item we tried, could happily have eaten about 20 of those! - For mains we had the Poussin and Ribeye steaks (Poussin had a really good flavour but with no side plate for deboning was very fiddly and awkward to eat) my steak was a little rarer than I’d have liked, didn’t really feel seasoned as well as it should have been and the chimichurri was not fresh and zingy, didn’t seem homemade at all. - The sides we chose were the tenderstem broccoli (slightly bland and thought the Parmesan foam was unusual) the potatoes, crispy but felt a little basic and the bone marrow mash which I loved, the jus was 👌 Desserts a bit mehhhh! Basque cheesecake was ok but have had much better and the compote wasn’t nice, girlfriends pineapple dessert wasn’t the best, tasted nice and fresh but a bit boring! Overall not bad and we would come again but not in a huge rush to do so. Would have awarded 3.5 stars if possible.
Good when on 50% off food from Fork. Pricey drinks as you would expect. Lobster mac and cheese was stunning
I came to this restaurant a few times, even before it turned to a grill place. The food and service were excellent. Love the Royal Copenhagen tableware However, the experience I had this Sunday was a huge disappointment. I know this is not considered a typical place for Sunday roast but still ordered it based on the previous positive experience. After a long wait, the food was finally served..The Sunday roast was really dry.. the Yorkshire pudding didn’t rise at all.. the portion was small, the kitchen/server forgot about our gravy, and only brought it to the table when we were half finished with our dish. I still recommend this place but please just don’t come here for Sunday Roast
Came yesterday with my daughter for drinks on the terrace. Great service although at one point we were the only people up there which was to be expected giving that it was a Monday. No heaters on for some reason. No atmosphere. But we enjoyed our drinks. Used the restroom before we left which as usual were clean and tidy but was disappointed to see that the hand soap was Bayliss and Harding. Not wanting to be snobby but when you are in a beautiful bar having expensive drinks you would expect the hand soap to reflect this too. Previously they used a brand called Byork and Berries. People want to feel like they are being treated to beautiful products when you visit a place like this so to be presented with a brand sold in local supermarkets is poor.
I would recommend to go there only with 50% off with “the fork” app. Food is good but it would be worth it at full price .
Despite spending nearly £300 on drinks, my friend and I were told they couldn’t eat a small sandwich they had purchased elsewhere in Harrods — which felt unnecessarily strict given the context and our spend. The service overall was inconsistent. I was quite surprised that a bar within Harrods didn’t have proper Champagne flutes available, and instead served champagne in wider Prosecco-style glasses, which took away from the experience. The bar was left unattended at times, and when my friend briefly went to the restroom followed by me a few minutes later, staff seemed to assume we had walked out on the bill — their reaction felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. While the cocktails and champagne themselves were perfectly fine, the overall experience and service level didn’t match the price point. I requested the service charge be removed, as I didn’t feel it was earned on this occasion.
The food was overpriced and underwhelming—mediocre at best. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty when we arrived, the service was inexplicably slow. Given the many excellent dining options in Harrods' food hall, this one felt more like a tourist trap than a quality culinary experience. I wouldn’t recommend it.The french fries were frozen commercial french fries you’d get at a supermarket. Not something you’d expect at Harrods.
Unfortunately very disappointed ☹️ the mash potatoes I had with bone marrow had very little taste. The Flat iron stake was hard & salty the bone marrow sauce / gravy could have been better. They didn’t have English mustard. I asked for a light with me on got medium to heavy 😱 Unfortunately my experience wasn’t so great Very disappointing
I’ve been dining at Harrods restaurants regularly for over three years, usually once a week, and this is the first time I’ve left truly disappointed. At The Grill, 5th floor, my steak was served rare even though I specifically requested medium, it was unpleasant to eat and tasted off. The salad was also poorly prepared, with a dressing that was far too strong and watery. The atmosphere didn’t help either, no music to set the tone, and the service was just average, which is not what I expect at Harrods. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience compared to the consistently high standards I’ve come to know and enjoy across other Harrods dining spots. The server didn’t care about my complaint…
Not impressed. Nothing special about the restaurant besides being associated with the Harrods brand. Group of 5 went on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Eye watering prices and then food that comes out of the kitchen is sparse and well below expectations. I would expect much tastier, unique, plentiful food when we are paying £50 for an entrée and a main plus service charge. The burger tasted like a cheese burger from Mcdonalds and the French fries also the same. Son why am i paying £50. For something that could gotten for £5. Their Sunday to roast was embarrassingly small (plate was big, but most of the plate was empty space). My friend got the mushrooms and salad.. again, terribly presented and nothing unique about any of us dishes. The french fries straight out looks like they were taken out of the freezer and deep friend. Absolutely no character to them. Even KFC does better french fries.
Food was excellent and the service was great. Paid the bill with a credit card, card was approved, received a receipt. Thought all was well. 15 mins later we were approached by a staff member from the restaurant that had tracked us via cctv to be told very publicly that my card did not go through and I needed to follow her all the way through Harrods to run my card again. Quite embarrassing. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I showed the manager the confirmation from the CC company on my phone. Still had to run my card again. Hours later, I find they had indeed received payment twice, but had refunded one of them. All was well in the end, as they only charged me once, but I found the process quite humiliating and embarrassing. If they had waited a few minutes for their system to register the payment, it could have been avoided.
Horrible dining experience. Long queue at the reception. Long wait to grab a table. 4 pax but 3 sets of cutlery. Staff mistakes. It’s only 7pm and burger sold out? Burger is not that special please. The WiFi failed. Needed to go to rooftop to send a message. The most ridiculous was the toilet. The tap came off and nobody cared? It’s Harrods, right? 1-star service at a so-called lux place.
I made a reservation at The Grill on 5th in Harrods for my daughter’s birthday, expecting a special and memorable experience. Unfortunately, what we received was nothing short of a disaster. When we arrived, our table wasn’t even ready — despite the booking Once seated, things went from bad to worse. No one greeted us properly, we weren’t given the full menu, and no one offered us even water. We were completely ignored for a long time. Eventually, a waitress came over, took half of our order… and then disappeared. No explanation, no follow-up. After waiting yet again with no service and no idea what was going on, we had no choice but to walk out. This was meant to be a celebration, but the poor service completely ruined the experience. I will never be returning. If you want to try the food from the grill, your best bet is to go to the Dining Hall on the lower ground floor — same food, better service, and a fraction of the hassle.
Really disappointing and definitely not worth the high prices they charge. Several items we ordered were not available from both menu and wine list (you obviously find this out after order is taken so delay after delay) Out of bread (not free one by the way, we were buying it) on Saturday night at 7.30…really! Funny thing is that restaurant is located in Harrods, few floors above one of the best food halls in London so perhaps they could get some bread from the fabulous bakery on the ground floor…just a cheeky suggestion. Two bottles of different white wines we had were both maderized and unpleasant and afterwards we ordered two more glasses which were brown in color and totally cooked…undrinkable. I inspected wine bottles afterwards and discovered that what they served were old vintages which could explain signs of maderization. These wines, I would not consider suitable for aging and they are usually recommended to be drunk at earlier stages of their life. This is either problem with stock rotation or an attempt to rid of older stock that is not moving fast enough…either way, not a problem to pass onto your guests. Your sommelier should be addressing this way before it reaches the table. At one point, wrong wine was poured on top of different wine which was already in the glass and so on and so on…it just felt that whole place had no soul, love nor passion for this amazing industry. Definitely total lack of visible host/manager on the floor, the very needed problem solver. Dear Harrods, may I suggest that you stick to business you are good at, which is on other four floors below, and rent out that roof top restaurant to someone who would revitalize the love for food and passion for service at this location. From: Concerned ex customer,
Due to a system error they were not able to accommodate our gluten free colleague. They failed to tell us this information until we had ordered a bottle of wine. When we went to order they told us that they would not be able to serve our colleague food because of this system issue and told us we would need to dine elsewhere. They decided to charge us for the bottle of wine. Entirely unacceptable without the first clue of what luxury hospitality is.
