We came for the Afternoon Tea to spent our daughter’s birthday here, there is no flaw I could find, staff are incredible and accommodating. Our waiter super helpful and nice, sandwiches, scones and pasties were so tasty :) Also hotel and the restaurant is beautiful 😊

Chandan was our waitress and she was superbly attentive for the whole evening. Wine was kept topped up and she even noticed that it was our birthdays so she arranged a beautiful birthday dessert! Food was excellent too

Our waitress and training waiter were wonderful. We had such a great experience. I highly recommend this Marie Antoinette tea to everyone, the service was exceptional, and the food was fantastic.

It was very nice experience in a classy and cozy environment! The quality of the food was outstanding! Chandan was the waiter who attended us, she was lovely and quite focused to deliver a very good service. I will repeat for sure.

Spent a lovely, relaxing couple of hours here after visiting the V&A. As we didn't have a reservation, we were offered service in the lounge area. Wonderful, unhurried service. The young lady waitress was very helpful kind and professional. They even offered to charge my phone with their concierge, as my battery was completely flat. Delicious food and very nice facilities. Nice treat, just 10 minutes walk away from the busy South Kensington area...delightful ✨️

Yes it was an awesome experience for me and my wife today being Valentine Day the staff Chandan did an excellent job and services

Had such a lovely afternoon experience and the team were very welcoming and friendly. Big shout out to Ash and Alaika! There was a live illustrator too who drew us whilst we were enjoying our afternoon tea. The desserts were really great and the scones even better, sandwiches were a little on the basic side but they kindly gave us a refill. It was raining a bit outside and Alaika kindly had our illustration wrapped in cling film so that it was not damaged on the walk to the station. Really considerate and helpful ❤️

I visited for afternoon tea with my in-laws for the first time, and we couldn't have been more delighted. Every detail was meticulously taken care of, from our table to the cutlery, not to mention the exquisite food. The customer service exceeded my expectations. Initially, I didn't expect an afternoon tea to leave me feeling so full, but we ended up taking some of the pastries home with us instead. The sandwiches, especially the cucumber and apple sandwich and the coronation chicken sandwich, were fantastic. The scones with clotted cream and jam were also delightful. The overall experience was nothing short of amazing, and my in-laws were equally thrilled. The atmosphere exudes luxury, and you feel so comfortable that it's like being in your own home. I highly, highly recommend it. I would happily return every weekend.

Really loved the ambience Staff were very friendly The beef carppacio was so juicy and very flavourful. And the salad was so zesty I loved especially with the added cheese. The salmon was so fresh, and the rye was had this sweetness to it which I loved I didn’t get a chance to take a picture of the bread basket but the butter was soo creamy and milky. Yummm Coming to the steak, hmmmmm. It was cooked medium the way I liked. And fries so CRISP. Just a bit too salty for me.

I dined in the Tonwhouse on a Sunday late afternoon. I had the Soup of the Day - onion - accompanied with a basket of Guinness bread (£12). This course was followed by the Roast Beef with the house Sunday trimmings (£29). Both courses were delicious. Attended to by an experienced waiter called Palbo - who was attentive and pleasant.

My husband and I visit for the afternoon tea. We were early but was able to be sat right away. The staff were friendly, fast and attentive. The venue is just the loveliest place; clean and beautiful. Those thing are very important to me, however the most exquisite part of our dining is experience is the availability of delicious gluten free sandwiches, pastries, and scones. I was able to forget I was gluten free for a couple of hours. I am looking forward to returning next time we are in London.

Art-inspired Afternoon Tea 🫖🎨 . How stunning are these desserts that were part of the Kensington Hotel Afternoon Tea? 🥰 Desserts inspired by Jackson Pollock, Yayoi Kasama or Alicja Kwade with champagne option 🥂 which I highly recommend. Such an amazing afternoon tea in a gorgeous environment. The balance between the chocolate elements and the sharper lemon and rhubarb elements made this afternoon tea exceptional (on top of the appearance of course). The starters (pie, crab cake etc) were also amazing and set this tea apart from others. The vegetarians in our party were also amazingly catered for, and not made to feel like second class citizens as they can be in some places. Real effort had been made to ensure their experience was just as good. Thank you!

We had the 'Tale of old Time' afternoon tea. It was a wonderful experience. Outstanding staff. The dining area was very luxurious. The food told a story along with the Beauty and the Beast props. Everything about this experience was fantastic. Would highly recommended.

We went here for afternoon tea as a celebration for my British naturalisation. Pablo was extremely helpful and my husband and I both found him very sweet and wanting to give us the best service. We were very cold in the corner where they put us- and he turned up the heater for us. We hope he didn’t get into too much trouble for doing that. He had the best intentions. I also appreciate the team surprising me with an extra cake with a candle. That was a nice addition to our afternoon tea. We particularly enjoyed every tea we had- malawi mint, jasmine, cloud and english breakfast. They were delightful to our palates. My favourite pastry was the Yayoi Kusama inspired pumpkin! They also gave us halal options which was very important for us. Deeply appreciated! ❤️🫰🏽 Thank you! Recommended to my colleagues and friends already! 🥰

Pretty interiors, charming staff and excellent food. The buffet starter is amazing with fresh seafood and delicious, light pastries as well as charcuterie and salads. You really can eat well from this alone, but save space for the tasty, roast-inspired mains and the decadent desserts. They also serve excellent coffee. The place was virtually empty when we ate here, so we felt like such foodies-in-the-know given the quality, service, location and outstanding value. The food is on par with fine dining establishments and they were able to provide a lovely dessert option when informed of a food allergy. This place deserves to be popular, but catch it now when it's still quiet!

We had an absolutely delightful lunch at the Town House restaurant in The Kensington Hotel, and I can’t recommend it enough! The experience was nothing short of exceptional, from the moment we were greeted by the incredibly friendly and professional receptionist to the impeccable service provided by our waiter. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel so welcome and truly elevated the entire dining experience. We dined in the luxurious White Room, which was the perfect setting for a relaxing meal on a hot day. The atmosphere was serene and elegant, offering a cool, calming escape with its sophisticated decor and tranquil ambiance. It was exactly what we needed to unwind. The modern menu was a highlight, offering a fantastic selection of dishes that were both innovative and bursting with flavor. I savored the Dover Sole, which was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth, and the Superfood Salad was fresh, vibrant, and packed with wholesome ingredients. Paired with an exquisite glass of Pouilly-Fuissé, the meal was a true treat for the senses. The wine was crisp and complemented the food beautifully. Every detail, from the presentation of the dishes to the seamless service, showcased the restaurant’s commitment to excellence. If you’re looking for a luxurious dining experience with delicious food, a relaxing atmosphere, and outstanding service, Town House at The Kensington Hotel is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Our experience at the Town House was exceptional. The food was very good and the ambience elegant and lovely. I was most impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and accommodating and very hardworking. We were very grateful for the many extra efforts made by Vlada, the hostess, that made our experience in the restaurant so relaxed and pleasant. Thank you.

Had a Champagne Afternoon Tea (Marie Antoinette themed) and the food and service were exceptional. Our server Nico was attentive and went above and beyond regarding our requests, making us feel welcome.

We had a lovely art themed afternoon tea that got us right and ready for our visit to the V&A. We paired it with the Starry Night cocktail, which was very refreshing. Staff were very kind and checked in on us multiple times. The interior is beautiful and feels very warm and comfortable. Truly a great start of our afternoon. If I had any feedback it would be that the sweet tray could perhaps do with a cake/dessert of a different texture, the current selection is all mousse based which made it a bit monotone (but still delicious).

Lovely afternoon tea (the new art theme) for a birthday celebration. The Kensington does the best afternoon tea in London and it’s always a pleasure to come back - this was no exception. Extra thanks to Chandan for the warm and friendly service, and the birthday cocktail! I’ll definitely be back!

Anyone looking for an afternoon tea, no overcrowding, gorgeous decor and attentive service - it's a must! Waiter 'Levente'- couldn't have done more to make our afternoon tea a wonderful experience. The complimentary birthday cake to celebrate my cousins 40th was fabulous.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying afternoon tea, and it was a genuinely lovely experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the overall presentation was well put together. The selection of food was well balanced and fresh, and the tea itself was excellent. Our experience was largely thanks to the service from the supervisor, Dan. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Dan was really helpful throughout; he checked in regularly, explained things clearly, and made sure everything ran smoothly without ever feeling intrusive. You could tell he was confident in his role and genuinely cared about the guest experience, which makes such a difference. We would definitely be going back, and will be asking for Dan to help us with our experience - as he made it one to remember.

This is a quiet gem in the middle of a very busy part of London. The restaurant is inside the hotel, so doesn't seem to get a lot of footfall. It is beautifully decorated, with large rooms and tables set well apart. Despite the opulence of the surroundings, the prices were reasonable - £30 for a two-course set menu; à la carte more expensive. Peaceful atmosphere, perfect for lunch.

Townhouse Kensington is such a great spot. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. What really stood out was the staff , everyone had a smile on their face and made the experience feel genuinely pleasant from start to finish. A perfect place for a relaxed meal with great food and great energy. I’ll definitely be back.

The food tasted great and was all gorgeously presented. The ambience is fantastic and great for a special event with family or close friends with the option to provide an occasion for your booking in advance. However, as with fine dining, the menu is small and while tasting great came at quite a steep price. Additionally, there was often quite a long wait for each course of the meal even though it was not very busy. You pay for the lavish experience to enjoy with company.

Had a lovely afternoon tea here with my best friend. The service was excellent, and we felt incredibly welcome. The decor and atmosphere were lovely and relaxing, and it felt like a special experience. The warm bites we had at the beginning of the meal along with the sandwiches were absolutely delicious (and we liked the little London eye they were served on), but I found all their deserts to be lacking (only had a small bite of them in fact). So that was a little disappointed. The beautiful mousse rose was a work of art, but had an unpleasant rubber quality to it that did not make it nearly as enjoyable to eat. But overall we had an absolutely lovely visit.

I found this lovely-looking afternoon tea, and I really wanted to try it. This spot is inside the beautiful Kensington Hotel. We walked in from the main front door of the Kensington hotel, and the staff guided us towards the back to where the Town House is located. Once seated, our server explained their current afternoon tea offering. It is called the London Landmarks Afternoon Tea, and features all the major landmarks around the city. The menu was quite lovely, and came with a London map of all the notable and historic landmarks. The afternoon tea will feature many of these landmarks, and you get to see what they are, and where they are. The map is given to the patrons as a souvenir, which I thought was really nice! First, we were served with their “Savouries” course. I didn’t know we were going to receive anything other than whatever comes on the three-tier afternoon items, so we were delighted! They were all so very tasty! After we were finished with them, they brought out this beautiful stand in the shape of London Eye! Wow! They call their menu “a celebration of London” and I totally agree! It was fun to eat desserts in the shapes of famous buildings. The service was excellent! Courteous, warm, and polite. We were very well taken care of the entire time. Thank you! If you are in London and want to try some tasty afternoon tea, filled with everything that is London, give this place a try!

We visited for the afternoon tea with the theme of London landmarks. The starters were the best in my opinion; particularly the crab cake based on our classic fish & chips. Finger sandwiches had the standard fillings. Its centrepiece are the desserts shaped after Big Ben (lemon tart), Gherkin (white chocolate shell with salted caramel filling), telephone box (mousse) and the Shard (chocolate walls surrounding a carrot cake middle). My vote goes to Big Ben! The restaurant has a bright elegant setting. Their staff take extra care to explain each component to you. This AT isn’t mind-blowing on the food front but carries a novelty for tourists and service is excellent.

Very chic bar & excellent staff service. The main restaurant incredible with comfort and decor. Dining staff approachable though slow service in ordering. Food delicious well worth visiting . Pre booking advisable.

I was treated to the highly talked about London landmark afternoon tea. The venue is stunning, the table was well laid. The staff were very attentive and explained the concept thoroughly. We ordered our teas first, there was great variety. My only complaint is the tea pots. The waitress spilt tea over the table, proceeded to cover it with a napkin. When I poured my own tea I had to hold the top of the pit which was very hot as it was metal. Even when holding down the lid it spilt all over my saucer and down the table. We were served our favourites shortly.agter our tea, both of us attending have gluten allergies. The quiche was delicious as was the potato item and the beef in the pie was gorgeous the only downfall being that the pie top was very dry and hard. The gorgeous London eye came out after, beautifully presented. Again this concept was explained thoroughly by the waitress. The sandwiches and sweets were delicious. The scones were very stodgy and not the best gluten free ones I have been served. The jam was very runny and cream not sweet enough for my liking. I would be very cautious with ordering gluten free as we had to relay it several times to different members of staff, four in total who visited our table throughout the course of the afternoon.

My wife and I had Christmas Eve dinner at Town House. Overall, we had a pleasant experience but there were a few problems The dining room is beautiful and we had an attentive waiter. Drinks were excellent. My wife and I both ordered turkey. We did not receive the amuse bouche or predesert even though they were listed on the menu. We didn't tell our waitress because our appetizer had already come. We also didn't receive the sage and onion stuffing. We did ask our waiter about the stuffing and she said it was the potatoes. This was extremely disappointing. We looked forward to stuffing with our turkey. It seems odd we didn't receive three of the items on the Christmas menu. We won't return or be recommending Town House

The best thing here was the service, after that I can't recommend anything at all. The starter wasn't very nice, scallops served with seaweed? However that was my mistake for ordering as I didn't notice the seaweed mentioned, but the mains, whilst looking nicely presented, were awful. My partners cod was full of large bones, which should have been removed during preparation, one of which she very nearly choked on, luckily she managed to cough it back up and this is no joke... The side dishes were cold, namely the mashed potato, broccoli and the bearnaise sauce. Bear in mind this was 17:30 on a Thursday evening in an empty restaurant, and the whole bill came to nearly £300. Not acceptable and certainly not a place I can recommend, nor would I want to visit again. Poor show...

I visited this hotel for an afternoon tea in January during a short birthday trip to London, after my brother booked it as a gift. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below what one would expect from a five-star hotel. Service was disorganized from the start. A senior staff member (I suppose she was, as she was wearing a long black dress, different from the rest of the staff’s outfit) seated me, explained the tea theme, and said she would return shortly to take my tea order, but disappeared for over 20 minutes, chatting with colleagues near the entrance of the dining room before leaving the room entirely without taking my order. After a while another waitress eventually approached and... repeated the same explanation of their afternoon tea, making the experience feel awkward and poorly managed. The food arrived after about 40 minutes. Forty minutes! Although visually immaculate, it felt far from fresh. The sandwiches were acceptable but mediocre, with slightly stale bread (particularly the brioche buns) and very basic fillings. The scones were the most disappointing: dry, dense and gummy clearly NOT FRESHLY BAKED, AND LIKELY REHEATED. The strawberry jam had a separated, watery yet clumpy texture, making it difficult to spread properly, though the clotted cream was smooth and well made. Because the scones were so dry, I had to drink tea after every bite and quickly became uncomfortably full, asking for the desserts to be packed to take away. Sadly, they were no better: visually elaborate but overwhelmingly sweet, dominated by white chocolate that masked all other flavours. Several pastries also had stale textures, like the shortbread biscuit and the tartlet, suggesting they were not freshly made. Service throughout felt cold and robotic. I was so uncomfortable that I called my brother on the phone just to feel at ease. While professionalism is expected, warmth and attentiveness are essential in hospitality and should not feel forced. At nearly £67 including service charge, the experience was simply not worth the price and in hindsight, I regret paying the service charge at all! What upsets me most was discovering after the experience that guests celebrating special occasions are often offered complimentary cake slices/treats, the very reason my brother chose this venue, and an option he specifically selected during the booking process (“special occasion: birthday”). Yet my birthday went entirely unacknowledged. What makes this particularly puzzling is that, when I declined the sparkling wine they offered me right after the theme’s explanation, they awkwardly remarked, “Ah right, it wasn’t marked in the booking.” If the staff had access to – and remembered – that level of detail, it is difficult to understand how the birthday note could have been overlooked by all of them. The only genuinely kind person I encountered was the Filipino concierge, who warmly welcomed me and even stepped outside to assist when he saw me struggling with Google Maps on my way back to my hotel. I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this afternoon tea to anyone. Thank you for making my birthday memorable… in the worst possible way!
