We visited this location for the 1st time. We were greeted and seated right away on a Friday afternoon for a late lunch. We sat in the outdoor patio. It was raining and a bit cold but they had outdoor heaters, that made it perfect. We had their Thai chicken salad that was amazing. They split it in two equal portions. My wife had the Patty melt and I went with the French dip. All I can say was the food was nice and warm and everything was so tasty. Our server was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return soon!!
Amazing Brunch Experience at Hof's Hut We recently visited Hof's Hut for brunch and had a fantastic experience. The ambiance on the patio was delightful, offering a comfortable and inviting space. It was great to see so many families enjoying their meals together, which added to the warm and friendly atmosphere. We ordered the mimosa tray, which was not only a great value but also a perfect way to start our meal. The food was outstanding—my chicken wings were perfectly crispy and juicy, and my egg and steak plate was cooked to perfection with the steak being flavorful and tender, cooked exactly to the right temperature. My wife’s salad was fresh and crunchy, with the greens tasting incredibly fresh. To top it all off, we indulged in the cheesecake with seasonal peaches for dessert, and it was absolutely delicious. We left completely satisfied and are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend
Such a fabulous restaurant with a good ambiance inside or their covered patio. We came for thanksgiving dinner and we got amazing Turkey, delicious stuffing, creamed corn, corn bread, cranberry sauce and I opted to swap my mashed potatoes for French fries. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The food did take some time but it was worth it, finished everything with a decadent chocolate cake.. so yum!
This place has always been the best place for simple dishes with a lot of flavor. I have been going to Hof's for over 20 years and it's a family favorite. The staff is always friendly and very accommodating. Try the seasonal specials...to satisfy your sweet tooth.
This place has a lot of character and charm but the food is incredible. I had to stop by for an old-fashioned chocolate cream pie a cup of coffee. They have a traditional counter that you could sit at the place and you can tell that it fills up pretty regularly. Menu is huge and I recommend trying almost everything here. There's a wine and beer selection but the appetizers of you when I'm coming back for!
First time at Hof’s Hut. Got there around 7:45 AM and got in right before it got busy. The waitress was exceptional and our order was served quickly! Food was delicious and I liked that they leave the coffee carafe at the table. They have a ton of desserts. Don’t miss out on them.
Dined in for lunch on a Tuesday. The restaurant was fairly busy but we got a nice booth. They also had plenty of seating on the patio. Diner style vibe. I had the spinach and mushroom omelette. Large portion with fruit and toast. Very satisfying. My boyfriend ordered the cobb salad which was a good portion as well. Staff is friendly and service is fast. Great to bring the family.
Some of the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The batter had so much flavor it was incredible. Not to mention the onion rings are legendary.
I love a good burger and this place didn’t disappoint!! Local decor and historic photos of the area. Server was amazing and made us feel right at home!! Kids menu was well worth it and my family felt like we definitely got our moneys worth. It was a whole experience!! Absolutely can’t say enough good things. We will be back! See you guys in September!
I had a chicken pot pie with green salad - excellent and quite filling. Others had the french dip (?) and a pastrami and swiss. They said theirs were good too. Service was very good too.
I have been coming to this Hof's Hut restaurant for about 30 years ... Have gotten good service and bad service.. but I keep coming back.... I have to say that last night Rene served me and all I can say is WOW... She gave me World Class upscale service. I ordered a Sierra Nevada beer .. a dinner salad... Order of French fries... And the chicken/ribs combo... She serves me the salad but the fries came out before I even started on my salad... Rene then said "I apologize ( not I'm sorry..👍🏻..Rene used the correct use of the phrase) I didn't realize the fries would come out this quick. I will slow down the service and give you a moment to enjoy." That was music to my ears... She had a smile all the time... Didn't hover over me asking a million times if everything was fine... And she just paid enough attention and she let me enjoy my food... Before I left- I had to stop her and let her know what an amazing job she did... Btw... Hof's Hut... Please do not change the dinner napkins and the drink napkins - those oze of class, unickness and a bygone style... Can't wait to visit again....
After having a great experience the first time I visited Hof’s Hut, I went earlier this month and the experience was not as great. I was invited back and I’ve since taken down my bad review. I think my bad experience last time was an anomaly because the food and Maria, our waitress, were both excellent, like I remembered the first time I went. Thank you Hof’s Hut, I’ll definitely be back!!
Best Server Award goes to Patricia. She was helpful for all needs...but, she made our whole experience truly enjoyable. We were three retired nurses sharing a moment to remember our history over the years. Patricia joined in our laughter and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Patricia!
Such delicious food and prices that can't be beat. Could not believe the great amount of food for the prices they charge. Best looking pumpkin breakfast items I've ever seen. Food was wonderful and lots of it. Atmosphere can be described as vintage. Plenty of parking in the back. When we got there it was very crowded. Had to put our names in but we only had to wait 10 minutes which was awesome. The employees are very efficient and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone. I'd actually rather keep this place a secret, it's so good.
I cannot express the feeling I get when I come to Bai Plu. Always welcomed whole heartedly by Jimmy or Nancy. I love the food here, service is top notch. Thank you for making my home for the last 10 years after Church. Some of my favorite dishes include. Crying Tiger, Tom Kha Kai soup extra spicy, salmon poke salad, shrimp spring rolls. Superb!
This place was so delicious. I took my children here after church & we enjoyed our meals so much. My son loved the cute fish tank there and the little cat robot that helped deliver food. I loved the clean & peaceful atmosphere. Definitely 10/10!
Decided to try a new Thai spot before heading to our usual place, and this one was definitely worth the visit. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly. I really liked that they offer sushi as well, with an open sushi bar so you can watch everything being made fresh. We tried the fried calamari, pineapple fried rice, chicken pad thai, pad see ew, and ribs, all solid choices. The standout was the Godzilla roll; the jalapeño sauce on top really hits the spot and adds a nice kick. Great variety, good flavors, and a spot I’d gladly return to.
I ordered the Pad Thai with chicken and veggies and Mango Sticky Rice. My order was a few minutes behind due to parade traffic but the restaurant and Driver were amazing. My food still arrived hot snd correct. The food was delicious and exactly what I ordered. I will definitely be ordering from them again. I wish i could have added more tip after the fact. Thank you so much!
For over 20 years now this establishment has consistently offered some of the best Thai and sushi in Long Beach. The Thai has unique details like rib eye cooked in palm leaves. The sushi available is always top quality. Everything is prepared with genuine care. We’ve been going there since their original location on 7th and have been ordering delivery and take out. The Bellflower location has a full bar and incredible service. Thank you to Tara and the whole team there for such wonderful dining experiences.
Celebrated a birthday for a member of our group and had a great lunch at Bai Plu. Great gyoza to start off our meal, we all enjoyed the luncheon specials which were bentos with salmon and one with tempura and a choice of sushi roll with miso soup and a salad. The others got specials with chicken and one with a pork stew like dish and they had an egg roll and rice. We all loved our lunch choices and then our wonderful waitress brought ice cream for the birthday girl and for all of us to dig into. There is always room for ice cream!
Was here a few months ago n enjoyed it enough to come back. The red curry thai snapper was sooo good. We couldnt stop eating it. The sashimi combo 2 had large slices of fish. I have been to other places and served slices half the size. Generous indeed. Check out my pics. The pot stickers were deep fried n crispy. The Red Dragon roll was my fav. Service was excellent. Our server was so nice n friendly. Our party of 3 agreed we would come back. Plenty of parking.
Came in for lunch. Ordered beef jerky. Nice and crisp without being dry. It was sweet and good portion of lean meat with some fat for a flavor bomb. Portion looked on the smaller end for ~$12. Papaya salad with salty crab was refreshing. Crisp crunch from the papaya and long beans. Raw salty crab added a nice umami touch. Medium spicy had just enough heat to burn your tongue but keep you coming back for more if you aren't much of a spice head. For ~$10 portion was sufficient and filling. Spicy chicken wings were crispy and glazed with a sweet sauce. Overall, not bad. A little bit pricey I would say, but flavor and freshness more than made up for it. Good quality for the quantity and price. Will be coming back for the beef jerky and papaya salad with a side of rice.
Old-school California charm with big portions and classic diner vibes! Loved the juicy Hofburger stacked with onion rings and crispy bacon, and the tuna melt was perfectly creamy without being soggy. Fries were hot and crispy — just how they should be. Friendly service, nostalgic atmosphere, and seasonal strawberry specials that tempt you right at the door. Come hungry, leave full, and skip dinner (because you’ll still be stuffed).
I've been meaning to try this place @ Torrance but had passed by thus resto on the way & decided to have dinner here. All the food items we ordered were good. Serving portions was decent for the price. Service is good.
Good 1st time here. Dog friendly seating, which was a BIG plus, considering I brought my dog with me. Service was pretty good here! The food was good, but my partner said his plate wasn't the greatest ( steak, mashed potatoes & veggies ). I had no complaints, My kid got chicken tenders & fries. I got the French dip with Au Jus sauce & fries....sooo good! I recommend this spot most definitely, I'll be back to try other plates.
Breakfast for dinner is always fun. Delicious spinach, onion, and mushrooms omelet, add some avocado for a nice finishing touch. The hash browns were a bit on the cool side when they arrived. The outdoor seating is a bit noisy, we asked to be seated in a quieter area as we could not hear the waiter. They have heaters to keep the evening cozy. They do not have a gluten free menu. You are on your own to find something you can eat if you need gluten free.
We hadn't been here in a while because we moved. The food was good. The only issue was the service. It was kinda on the slow side. We keep having to ask for refills on the drinks, napkins and flag him down to order dessert and get the check. We would recommend it to our family and friends hopefully it was just bad luck with our server.
Good food, very small portions, perhaps the smallest of any thai restaurant ive ordered from and for around 20 bucks an entree it really shouldnt be that way
The quality of food here is good, however, the price is a bit much consider the small portion of the food. We ordered fried tilapia mango salad, duck curry, and fried asparagus with mushrooms, they cost $75 prior to tips.
We used to go to the other branch regularly, but haven't been in a while. We were in this part of town and stopped in for dinner. Cream cheese wontons.. nice to find on menu without crab, served with a sweet and sour sauce with a nice kick. Tamago sushi was typical. Pad see ew wasn't too spicy. We ordered with tofu which ha a peppery aftertaste. They have added a kitty robot that wanders around. It's cute.
Good: Huge variety Good quality sushi Generous portions Good service Full bar! Meh: Huge variety (like 15 pages on the menu) Friend ofine has been telling me about Bai Plu Thai & Sushi bar for the longest time now. Finally got a chance to try it out. I was a bit leary with the sushi because, in my experience, se sushi joints that don't specialize in sushi usually tend not to have the best quality fish. I was wrong on this count. This fish quality was good, with no fishy smell, so it passes the smell test and taste test. And also being a Thai restaurant that serves sushi, you never know what the Thai food is going to be like. Verdict: Good. We ended up ordering Pad Se Ew with beef ($16.99), Papaya salad ($14.99), Panang curry with chicken ($15.99), spicy eggplant & basil with chicken ($15.99). Oh, let's not forget about the Mango sticky rice ($14.99). All delicious and definitely flavors you'd expect from a Thai restaurant. Service was attentive and quick. Although family friendly, not really built for strollers. But I would definitely come back on the near future.
It's been at least 10 years since I last ate at this location. I can't say I missed anything. The server wasn't very friendly and she never came to the table to refill our drinks. When placing our order, rather than offering an option to questions, she quickly said NO. She did the same thing to the next table. It wasn't very clean and there was food under our table. The food didn't taste freshly made - almost like a frozen dinner that was heated. I went there looking for comfort food, so I ordered their country fried steak - never again. On the way out, I was impressed with their dessert counter, so I bought two to take home. I was also impressed with their hand sanitizer - I think the scent was freesia. We sat in the patio section where they do have dividers up between the tables (following CDC recommendations).
Got confirmation that my order was ready. Got to the store and employee said I had to wait for my order. 20 mins passed by, my order had been ready the whole time. I had to check with Another employee to check my order to begin with. Food wasn’t what I expected because it was just sitting there for an extra 20 mins
