Viaje delivers every time. The ambiance is warm and inviting, not trying too hard. Cocktails are some of the best I've had. The food is incredible- every aspect executed to perfecttion, truly! Start to finish you won't be disappointed!

This is a very intimate & relaxing restaurant. I gave the short rib enchiladas a try & the sauce was incredible but after 3 bites it became a little overpowering but still delicious. I also tried the prawns & I was pleasantly surprised. Overall I have a great experience & I will be returning. The 2 female host at the door were great & very welcoming.

You must try this place! Our entire meal and experience was perfection. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. The staff and service was very kind, down to earth, and attentive. Diana was a great waitress. The ceviche was to die for. Limey, but not too sour, sitting in a heavenly tomato sauce with the perfect level of heat. The duck enchiladas in mole were wonderful with the mole sauce being a beautiful balance of flavors. The al pastor salmon was cooked to a perfect medium well with a delicious marinade and delicious lime avocado puree. For dessert, we have the tres leches which is my favorite dessert of all time, so I'm picky about it, and this was so amazing. Not overly rich, moist, and loved the fruit garnish for some freshness. I'm so impressed with this restaurant, and I sincerely hope they stay around for a long time. I will be telling everyone I know to visit.

First of all the restaurant is so cute. We came in for my best friends birthday for drinks and our bartender Jason was amazing and so hospitable. The drinks were amazing and so well done. He also recommended I try the ceviche with the black squid ink. Such a great suggestion. I loved everything and will be returning for dinner one night.

We've been meaning to try out the this place since it opened and what better excuse than an expiring resy credit from Amex Platinum. Good attentive service in a modern and dark space. Food was delicious and on point. The ceviche was flavorful and so was the black ink aguachile. The lamb portion was massive! We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

Was in the area and stopped by Viaje restaurant. The decor and ambiance is very clean, relaxing and gives you the feeling that you are in a resort. My favorite plate was the salmon al pastor. So delicious! But where this restaurant really stands out and makes it worth it to me, is their outstanding customer service! WOW, just WOW! We were so impressed with how attentive they were. New plates with each course, new cutlery, made sure the table was clean, poured our drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. Made our experience there so memorable!

We chose this place for an engagement dinner for 16 guests. The service was so amazing and the food was so delicious! We had an amazing time and we loved the fact that they personalized our menus. It was such a sweet touch.

Came here for NYE and exceeded all expectations. Ordered the aquachiles, barbocoa flautas, Zuchinni blossom quesadilla, the chicken mole, branzino, skirt steak. And Everything was delicious and so flavorful!! Service was attentive and warm. Food took a little longer but it also could have been how much food we ordered. 12/10 experience!

Wow, just wow... what a great experience. Not your average Mexican cuisine, more like Mexico City gourmet... not that I don't love me a good street taco. Came for my birthday and everything was damn near to perfect... even the suggested Mexican wine turned out to be amazing. Watch out California...

Amazing dining experience and excited to return! Booked a Tuesday reservation as a surprise for my husband's birthday! The team is very well coordinated. The service was flawless, great communication with me, and between foh&boh. All the platings were gorgeous works of art. The food was excellent and I love ordering a dish that makes me think "how do I reverse engineer this in my own kitchen" haha. The ceviche was my favorite. The cocktail and drink menu is outstanding as well-- I worked at a mezcal & tequila bar in DTLA, so I have to say the selection at Viaje is very well curated. Our cocktails were well balanced, vibrant, with gorgeous fresh garnishes and creative twists on classics like an old fashioned. I had a surprise birthday cake brought out at the end of dinner. The chefs did a beautiful job plating it with a nice fruit selection. Thank you so much for making my husband's birthday so special! 🎂

Food was sooo good here. Definitely get what you pay for! Service was top notch. Our server Melena was very knowledgeable with both food and drinks. Her recommendations hit the nail on the head when it came to our taste! We chose the ceviche and kept the left over sauce for the rest of the night since it was so good. We had the chicken mole and the enchiladas de pipian. Chicken was juicy and the enchiladas were packed with flavor! The cherry on top was the freshly made churros with chocolate sauce as our dessert ! 🤤Definitely recommend trying out Vieje!

Came to this spot last night with the family for mother’s Day .. I heard a lot about this place so we had to come try it ! Of course we ordered the branzino - it was good . We also ordered the sea bass and ceviche and potato tacos , octopus , for starters . I heard they have good drinks and tasty mock-tails but I had water , the family enjoyed their margaritas . Try not to fill up on the chips and guacamole - it’s really good ! You need to save room for the main course !! The fish is so tender and my father in laws lamb looked so tender fall off the bone good . We ended it with the tres leche cake !!! Omg so delicious . It is a little pricey though . Don’t know if I’d make it a habit to come back but cool vibes and good service !

I think I got carried away with my review lol, I cut myself off 😅, anyway, if you see above, we were celebrating my birthday so of course we ordered cocktails, we were waited by David, who was honestly so great, everything you want from a fine dining experience! The cocktails were VERY generous in our experience, and the manager or owner honestly not sure 😅 but Adrian gave us a round of free shots with the works, and ended with a free bday dessert so cute and delicious!! Highly recommend and I look forward to returning! 10/10

Viaje is hands-down one of the best additions to 2nd Street in Belmont Shore! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is just right—chic and modern without feeling stuffy or pretentious. It works just as well for a laid-back drink with friends as it does for a stylish date night. The cocktails are a highlight on their own, with an excellent tequila selection and creative, well-balanced drinks. I also love that they carry wine from Valle de Guadalupe in Mexico—such a unique touch I haven’t seen at other Mexican spots in Long Beach. But the food? That’s what keeps me coming back. Everything I’ve tried has been fantastic, but I especially love the tacos de papa (seriously crave-worthy), the Caesar salad (surprisingly memorable), and the comforting, flavorful sopa de tortilla. The flavors are elevated but still comforting and true to their roots. Top it all off with outstanding service every single time, and you’ve got a place that truly stands out. I can’t recommend Viaje enough—go for the drinks, stay for the food, and soak in the vibe. A total gem in the neighborhood.

Amazing drinks, food, and atmosphere. Wish I could make it over here more often. Feeling the attention and care they take in all aspects here. Try all their mezcal riffs of classic cocktails. They really do the originals an honor and bring their own twist.

Even though we had a 7pm appointment, 40 minute wait was worth it. The place was full so we understood that there may be a delay. The staff was very friendly, communicative and apologetic. Once seated, we got a complimentary wine bottle and the exceptional service. Food was amazing! My favorite was the grilled octopus and aguachiles. We will definitely come back!

Viaje is one of those restaurants that need to stay on 2nd St…it is the very best on that strip if not all of Long Beach.

Every time we go here I'm extremely pleased. The cocktail menu changes frequently with innovative drinks and creative combinations, and the happy hour drink menu is also different! So plenty of options each time you go. Last night for dinner, we had the Carnitas and the Arrachera. Both were incredible, but I favored the Carnitas. Good food. Great atmosphere. A must in Belmont Shore and Long Beach.

I went here for one of my dearest friend’s birthday. We watched the world go by while the most delicious food and drinks came to us. Fresh and savory food perfect for sharing. The quesadillas with flor de calabaza and hongo were made with quesillo, fresh simple melty cheese and crispy tortilla. Everyone enjoyed the crispy potato and mushroom tacos. The service was outstanding. Special events or happy hours this place is an all around gem in Long Beach.

So the food was fabulous. Waiter was wonderful I don't recall his name at this time it's my fault , Brianne who originally made our reservation was also wonderful everybody was very kind. Food was wonderful really really Good. The downside for me personally was We started out with the reservation for 16 It did go up to 21, it was during the week, day before Halloween so it wasn't really busy but it wasn't exactly slow It was actually very quaint, We did not do a preset menu. I never do that because you never really know if people are coming for drinks they might just want some snacks they might actually want meals which then they can order but I don't usually like to do that I let people decide.. they also told me that cupcakes did not have a service fee, but they later backtracked said new management said charge. Which we didn't actually bring cupcakes we brought little high tops from Frosted up the street those were magnificent and I set up my own little table decorations which again they were very helpful and very kind. Last minute about four people didn't show up so they did in fact charge me per person for people not showing up, (about 5 )as well as $3 per person for my hi top cupcake sandwiches. they didn't have cakes and it would have been ridiculous to buy 17/18 individual desserts would have been ridiculous price wise clearly. Again don't get me wrong definitely would go back definitely small party three four people regular reservation would definitely stop in for dinner even do take out drinks were also really really good. Overall the evening was very lovely My daughter did enjoy herself

She was attentive to smaller tables around us but it seemed like she paid us less attention because she knew she was already getting the 20% gratuity and didn't have to actually earn it. I get giving larger parties space but sheesh, she didn't do much of anything a server should do except welcome the first few of us on arrival. She didn't offer water or chips/salsa, she didn't come back to see when we wanted to order food, or check on us after we had our food/drinks. We had to flag her down for every little thing. The cocktails and food, however, were great. They were aesthetically pleasing, plated well, and had great flavor. We ordered a ton of items...flautas, tacos dorados, sopes de costillas, tostada de atun, barbacoa de cordero, arrachera steak, carnitas plate. The sopes de costillas and cordero were 10/10. They were so tender and flavored well. Will go back just for those. The winning cocktail was the pepino marg. I hope the service we received from Nayeli isn't a reflection of the restaurant itself because a few of us would love to go back for the food and drinks but maybe with just 2-4 people and not a large group. 3 stars might be a little harsh but it was a birthday celebration and we expected the bare necessities with service at a nice restaurant.
