Opinions de Sushi Kara Long Beach
I recently ordered through Uber Eats, and I was thoroughly impressed by the safety seal on the packaging—what a brilliant idea! It made me feel very secure about the delivery. The food itself was absolutely delicious, with the salmon on top of my sushi roll being incredibly thick and fresh. Overall, an excellent experience!
Another gem sushi find. Excellent quality, taste and prices. I had the candy roll filled with tempura shrimp, crab, with salmon and tuna on top-so delicious. The baked scallop roll was filed with crabmeat with baked scallop on top-perfect. Clean casual place, plenty of table seating as well as sushi bar. Good music and service. Will be back for sure.
Me and my wife come here at least once a week. Great variety of sushi. The food is always very tasteful and very presentable. Sushi chefs are very professional and clean, which is a plus in any restaurant. They help if you have any questions, and they also give you suggestions in new plates or drinks. Service is very attentive, friendly, and helpful. The owner is always taking care of its customers, and she makes sure you are always happy and satisfied. Definitely recommend this restaurant to come and give it a try. You will not be disappointed, and you will keep coming back.
Came here the other night with a client. Great food, great value. If your looking for a fresh, sushi spot in Long Beach… well Sushi Kara is it. Why go to Nobu, when you can get over the top sushi here! They have top of the line sushi that is delicious and affordable. customer service was excellent - the staff are super nice. The first time I came it was for happy hour. I’ll be back You won't be disappointed.
This is a delicious sushi restaurant worth visiting in Long Beach. First of all, the staff is friendly and the store is clean. The taste of sushi is also closest to the original taste. The price is reasonable and the kids like it so I plan to visit again.
Highly recommended!! There are a few sushi places but Sushi Kara is absolutely my favorite one. Food was soooo amazing. Staff are kind and nice. Great place to eat! Definitely wanna visit again 👍
Friendly service + good sushi - arrived a little before lunch opening but the hosts graciously let me sit down early and accommodated my tight schedule. The lunch special is a pretty good deal - both rolls were absolutely delicious. The flavor of the spicy baked salmon roll was particularly delicious, and the salmon was very tender/perfectly cooked.
I tried the lunch special and was blown away by the quality of the food and the price. For about 20 I got 2 rolls, a beer, and sides. I almost want to keep this place a secret but I'd rather it be famous. Great service great food will be back. This will always be one of my favourite sushi places, I'm sad to be moving because I'll miss this place.
My favorite sashimi here is the seabass and the bluefin. My fav rolls are the dragon roll, candy roll, spicy tataki roll, And long beach roll. My favorite appetizer is the Heart attack jalapeno popper looking things. Everything I've had here has been delicious.
Great Local Sushi Joint! Wonderful and Tasty! Must Try!

The food here is fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious. I especially love the 911 roll and the spicy edamame. But what really puts this place over the top is the service. The staff strike the perfect balance: efficient, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing or disappearing when you need them. I wish I had photos of the food but I forget to take it once I see the food I can’t wait to eat it lol. Overall this is a great spot all around. Highly recommend!
We dine in as a family at Sushi Kara almost every week (not just for special occasions), and it’s consistently one of our favorite dinner spots. The fish is truly high quality and tastes incredibly fresh every time. The sushi chefs are very nice, and the portions and presentation are always beautiful everything comes out looking as appetizing as it tastes. Some must-tries for us: the Scottish Salmon Roll, the O.C. Roll, and their miso soup (my son’s favorite). My daughter doesn’t eat sushi and still loves it here, she usually gets the chicken noodles, and there are plenty of great non-sushi options on the menu, which makes this place perfect for families with different tastes. Service is another reason we keep coming back. The staff is fast, kind, and genuinely welcoming. They’ve gone above and beyond for us more than once, including surprising us with a small treat like an appetizer or dessert as a thank-you, such a thoughtful touch that makes you feel appreciated. The atmosphere is relaxed, upbeat, cozy, and family-friendly with great vibes all around. Parking is easy, and we usually get seated right away or within about 10 minutes even when they’re busy. Highly recommend Sushi Kara if you want fresh sushi, great people, and a place you’ll want to return to again and again.
Pleasantly surprised...not a huge place but nice armosphere...sat at sushi bar...prompt service...started filling up after 6 pm...
I was in town for work and stopped in for dinner one night. I had the volcano roll and an order of chicken katsu curry. Both were excellent along with the quick and attentive service. Sushi Kara is a 10/10 for me!

We love Sushi Kara! The food is fresh, and delicious! I would recommend it for sushi and the other Japanese dishes that are served here.

We had a great time at the restaurant! Tried the snake roll, surprise roll, and chicken teriyaki. Rolls were delicious, and the chicken teriyaki was the highlight - savory and tender. Despite being busy, the service was attentive, always checking if we needed anything:)
I was pleasantly impressed with the quality of the fish, the ambience, service, and price. A larger portion would have earned 5 stars from me. I ordered the chirashi lunch special. It paired well with their house sake and Kirin ichiban beer. I'll be back to try their sashimi combo and a la carte nigiri.
It’s okay sushi, not great, not bad - middle of the road. The chirashi is what I ordered and that’s probably the best value for the money. It came with miso soup and side salad.

Food is variable. But Isaac is always amazing!! He is so welcoming each time we come in. Always remembers the minor details of my order. He is literally the best part of our experience at sushi Kama.

The sushi used to be decent here but our experience tonight was terrible. My biggest issue is that the place closes at 9pm, but they do last call at 8:15pm... 45 min before "closing." Our meal felt extremely rushed. All the employees were ready to go home. They brought the bill while we were still eating and the staff was cleaning and closing up before it was even 8:30. Second, the food was below average. My rainbow roll was not presentable. Fish was sliced way too thin and rice was too dry. Everything fell apart as I picked it up. Salmon egg sushi was way too salty. Nothing tasted fresh. Service was friendly but they definitely wanted to be out of there by 9pm. What's the point of saying you're open till 9pm if you're going to use the last 45 min to close the restaurant? We won't be coming back.

For a pricey dynamite roll. It sure lacked in every department. It definitely wasn't baked like it's supposed to be. They basically scooped a pile of imitation crab on top and warmed it up and called it a dynamite roll. I found only 3 small scallops in the toppings. A cheap move to fill the top. I removed all the imitation crab and piled it on the left as you can see. Should definitely rename it the imitation crab roll.
