Opinions de Uncle Fung Long Beach
My first time ordering delivery from this establishment. I just moved into a new apartment, boxes everywhere, still trying to unpack. I placed an order and the food was beyond my expectations!! It was fresh, hot and flavorful. I ordered the orange chicken combo, with Thai tea and fried chicken dumplings. All I can say is FIRE.
Could use a wider selection of drink flavors to try since I like to change up my orders, but this place has the best boba I've tried, soft and chewy, unlike some places that have a dense center. My go-to boba spot now
This is my all-time favorite boba shop in town, hands down! But when I went 3 wks ago, I didn't expect my boba to be off this time around. Every time I've had cha for tea, it's always been superb! I voiced my concerns and was glad to hear the manager did a taste test himself, and his honest opinion was what won me over! He totally agreed with me! I thought his response was a true testament of customer service. I will continue to support their business! And told me rest assured that they'll be making a new correct batch of quality boba pearls. In exchange for my mishap, he replaced my order at a later time free of charge!
Cha for Tea is our favorite place to have our fill of tea. They offer a variety of teas that are sweet and savory. Their Mango Green Tea is refreshing and sweet. The staff is so friendly, especially Jeffrey, he's kind and always asks how our day is going.
My first experience with Cha was at the Irvine location. But now The Long Beach location has become the spot to go to. very consistent with our plates and the drinks are great. if you don't know what to order get yourself the crispy chicken plate medium spicy with rice. You can also try the crispy chicken side by itself. Lots of college students during the school year, And people like to study here.
5 for drinks and boba (haven't tried food enough to rate it). My favorite is the honey green milk tea. Price is reasonable. And the employees are efficient in handling both pick up and walk in orders.
I go here for the tea, not the food. The tea is exceptional. Some of the best boba and tea I've ever had. They have great variety. You can adjust the sweetness of your tea as well. The staff are friendly and always in a good mood. Service is quick, even during crowded hours. You can expect quality drinks here every time. Don't like the flavor you ordered? They'll replace it for a different one of your choice for free.
Been coming here for over a decade. Their popcorn chicken dish is so good! Boba drinks are good quality as well. Decent pricing as well. Definitely recommend!
My nieces introduced me to this place. They have delicious food and refreshing drinks. I always get the Thai Iced Tea and Crispy Chicken.
Absolutely love Cha for Tea! Even though it's a little ways away from where I live, I always find myself making the trip for my favorite Mango Cooler with boba. The staff is wonderful and even makes an effort to remember regulars, which makes it feel like a small town place in a far too large city. Would definitely recommend, plus they just opened up the indoor seating!
Mango Green tea with boba or Taro Milk tea with boba with popcorn chicken is the go to order here.
Our go to boba spot! Mango green tea is amazing.
ordered thai milk tea 0% sweetness <3 def was a thai milk tea not sweet 10/10 would come back had good outdoor and indoor seating also popcorn chicken was good too, not too spicy
Drinks are always good and for a decent price compared to other boba shops. Love that sweetness is customizable. Food is good too. Beef Stew plate and Orange Chicken Plate are delicious
The prices are great. And love the food and tea, get it how you like it. It would be nice if they had rewards program. Its next to Cal State, student spot.
Cha For Tea was a nice find! Great to get your milk tea fix in addition to grabbing a quick bite. I originally came to only try their chai tea milk tea w/ boba, but I ended up getting their brown sugar boba drink (which did not disappoint) AND trying one of their popular meals: their orange chicken with rice & corn. The dish also came with a small side salad which was a nice addition for the price. It's a perfect little meal that is very filling. The boba was great, with the right amout of softness & sweetness. The staff is helpful and efficient- I've been twice now and each time there was a line but I barely noticed the wait! This spot is worth a visit if you're in the area and you love boba.
What not to like? Have milk teas and snack entres, wifi, work station and dining. Mostly college students since it's across CSULB. Nice staff, some sample teas at the counter. My fav grab and go food is popcorn chicken.
The boba here is AMAZING, so fresh!!
best boba ever! the parking can be a little hard at times, but it’s totally worth it. food: get the steamed/crispy dumplings or the crispy chicken! drinks: try the matcha latte, mango green tea, or the black milk tea w brown sugar boba :)
1st time here and like their tea. They even had samples out for you to try some flavors. This is the first tea place that I've been to that offered that. It would be nice though if they filled up my glass all the way like the other 2 drinks we purchased. I kinda felt short changed. They also forgot to put boba in my son's drink, but didn't hesitate to fix it. We'll be back. 😁
Try the strawberry crush it's amazing. On cold days grab the almond black milk tea, on point! The food is amazing, the crispy chicken is great for any occasion!
It's a small location, but they have good teas and service with a very Long Beach vibe. I absolutely love that they have tea samples on the side without you having to ask. I ordered their matcha latte, which was absolutely delicious. I personally have a hard time finding places with good matcha and I can definitely say, their matcha is up there for me. Where it's located is nearby CSULB and is perfect for students who love boba tea and is looking for a getaway from campus without having to go too far. They have snack foods as well.

Love the Jasmine milk tea, mango green tea, almond tea... also really like their chicken salad. If you like Boba, they make it fresh there so you shouldn't get the off-texture ones.
I can't believe this place doesn't have a higher rating! Such good food for so cheap! It's healthy, delicious, and easy on the stomach. I had the Japanese curry with Chai, and it didn't disappoint. My boyfriend had crispy tofu with brown sugar bubble tea, and it was the smoothest, creamiest bubble tea he had ever had. I tried it too, and I can vouch for it. I can't recommend this place enough.

Boba was amazing but the drinks were extremely sweet for a first time try even when I reduced the sweetness from 5 pumps to 3. Probably would've done 1 pump if I knew. Other than that, everything was tasty! Even the crispy chicken (aka popcorn chicken).
Good customer service. Staff are honest and patient. My husband and I were the last customer. I ordered hot black tea. The one who made my tea told me he forgot to put sweetener. I told him I want honey. He willingly made me another tea because he already put fructose on it.
I always get either the Mango Green Tea or Peach Passion Green tea, and the popcorn chicken and it tastes great every single time! The drinks are a bit on the sweeter side for sure so definitely adjust sugar if you don’t like sweet drinks. The service is always quick, and the team is friendly as well. The only issue I had was the confusion about where you pick up your food. I heard my name called twice and both times I went immediately to the normal pick up counter, but it wasn’t there. I even asked if it was ready and they said no. I don’t mind waiting at all, but by the third time they called my name, it still wasn’t at the counter and I asked a second time. It was frustrating and confusing to hear “oh yeah they called your name a while ago, you pick it up over there [the register]”, especially when I saw team members personally handing out food orders or other customers picking it up at the normal counter. The only suggestion I have is to let customers know that after you order food in-store (via a sign or verbally at the register), where you should pick it up, especially if it’s not the normal counter.
Cha for tea is usually a 5 star restaurant, with amazing popcorn chicken and tasteful sauce. This visit, the chicken was not crispy as per usual and the sauce was less flavorful. A worker with a pink sweater and brown hair was a great server w/ a happy attitude. Overall disappointed with the quality of the chicken, but I will continue to come here as I have been over the past 4 years.
During my visit, Cha For Tea has one option for individuals seeking a Vegan food option. The meal is decent though I feel like I might as well go to a market during the middle of my meal. I appreciate the factoid about frying Tofu potentially contaminating a Vegan product with animal byproducts because the non-Vegan options go in the same fryer that anything that needs frying goes into. Otherwise, it seems like a decent hangout spot/go to spot. Decent customer service.
This Cha For Tea has been awarded as the Best Boba Place in Long Beach, California by the Long Beach Post, Best of Long Beach Readers' Choice. My most favorite drink is their Mango Green Tea, which is a must-have item on the menu.

great food and combo deals. good bubble tea, black fruit tea especially. thai tea tastes off, but everything else is good

Cha Irvine regular here - 10+ years - where service & quality are always fantastic, we LOVE CHA! Occasionally go to Cha Long Beach which was solid in the past, but last 2x disappointing - hot teas were BARELY WARM & forgot boba (even tho clearly on the order sticker). Will still revisit though, since we love Cha, but do double check your order carefully before leaving.
I don’t get all the hype. I ordered their mango green tea but all I could taste was sugar. No tea flavor. Three stars because the boba were really fresh and soft and the service is super fast. But they need to lower their standard sugar level.
I had the crispy chicken entree with rice, corn and salad. It was good. Looks just like the photo on their menu, which means they're consistent in their cooking and prep. Decent serving portion, cooked well... My friend had the fried and steamed dumplings. She liked the fried ones better but didn't like the dipping sauce. The floors are sticky and it's really noisy inside --a tad chaotic if you're a new customer. Hard to hear your name being called for your food since it's so loud inside. Very busy place and seems to attract a young crowd. The staff is working hard but I wish the cashier would've been more helpful or greet the customers. I'd come back but would take it to go.
The orange chicken is hit or miss. Sometimes fresh and fully covered in orange sauce sometimes dry, hard barely any sauce smh. Inconsistent quality
Usually love going and the drinks and food are great. I ordered online just this once but they missed 2 order notes. One of my drinks had no sweetener and was missing the add on I paid for. :( I recommend going in person so you can double check your drink is correct.
I love that they have various milk options. I would however say that the default on the peach green tea milk tea was five pumps of sweetener, which was way too much for me personally. Points off for the straw being a paper straw and the lid being like a dixie cup sort of lid and not that satisfying bubble tea portable sealed plastic that you get to satisfyingly stab which I'm sure is a side effect of the weak paper straw. I ordered bubble tea. of course I want to stab something. I'm really disappointed that I don't get to. Also, I kind of wanted to wait out the traffic here. There were two open tables inside but they were both dirty covered in sauce and/or tea. I grabbed some napkins and tried to wipe one of them down but whatever it was was too sticky and half dried on the table and so I couldn't get it clean enough to want to sit there. The upholstery is kind of beat up too so it wasn't looking super inviting. All that said, if I'm headed out of Long Beach on another occasion I'll probably stop here and order with no sweetener, to go, and I actually typically have at least one random boba straw in the car...
After leaving the nearby optometrist I decided to stop in today for lunch today. Service was ok, I didn't get the warm and fuzzy greeting or interaction that I look for in a business I patronize. I ordered the sweet potato fries (mild Cajun), steamed dumplings, and crispy chicken (mild) to go. The steamed dumplings were a little too watery but I was hungry and ate them nonetheless. The fries and chicken were tasty! I also ordered a Thai ice tea with no boba and it was ok, definitely not the best ice tea that I've had. What I saw others had liked good, so it's definitely worth a try.

I used to LOVE coming here after class from CSULB. Unfortunately, it's gone downhill over the years. I recently came for boba. There were 4 people behind the counter (no other orders), yet they were just talking and waiting around. My drink took roughly 15 minutes and the boba was overcooked. Bummer.
Packed in the weekend. The boba was a hit. Brien sugar tea boba. Perfection. Warm and cold, chunks of sugar, sweetened perfectly. The food was terrible. The chicken was overcooked and tough. The crispy chicken was almost not edible, like little chunks of leather. The dipping sauce wasn't too good either. I'd recommend skipping the food and having the delicious boba.

Everytime I try a new place I try various flavors/styles of drinks. Tried the thai tea cooler and it had a very strong minty like taste which started giving me a headache. Thought maybe that was their thai tea flavor but when I tried my sons thai tea it tasted totally different. So I trashed my drink not knowing what that extra flavor is. Their matcha latte and mango milk tea were good. Also tried their strawberry colada cooler but none of us was a fan of that drink. Their boba is delicious though. Ordered a few popcorn chickens with different spiciness levels. Spiciness levels tasted all the same and its not the typical battered popcorn chicken I get at other shops but more like battered strips cut up. There very spicy was not even medium spicy and that's coming from the people who can't eat spicy.
Food is solid and all but to get a to go order in this box and the chicken be thrown into a bag and now my rice stuck to bag, could've give me the normal plastic container I'd get without having my rice stuck to paper bag yall did me dirty this time around
Very disappointed in this establishment. There were 7 of us and only one person enjoyed their drink - which was maybe because that person was the only person to order a cold tea. Convinced that the staff did not know how to make hot drinks. They were served to us very very late (multiple people behind us in line received their drinks well ahead of us and we still were waiting even when there was no line and no one in the shop). When we did receive our hot drinks they were not even hot anymore, and didn’t even taste that good. The staff offered to microwave our drinks for us but the experience was already ruined by then.

I got a brown sugar boba tea and it was just milk and powder. The "tea powder" wasn't mixed in properly and was all clumped up at the bottom. Worst boba I've had. Do not recommend.
Honestly, I wanted to love this place. It's cutely designed, the prices aren't awful but beyond that, the entire experience was disappointing. The boba was chewy and undercooked, I don't want to have to gnaw my way through a marble in the middle of mush. And my Thai tea? Was gross. Really really gross. It tasted like old socks. Such a bummer.
Been going here as a regular and my experience here from time to time has turned bitter. I don’t know what their deal is or what I did but the moment I order. The cashier would start gossiping and I would meet with disrespect. Service is terrible. They would always have someone else take my order and give me the same attitude. That’s some childish behaviors. They need to do better!
