As a Carb-ivore, I simply can't get enough! Fresh baked goods and coffee could solve any problem. The place is always clean, never too busy (it seems) and the staff is pretty friendly and kind. You can earn points (I'm a sucker for points) that can help with that next order. My recommendations would be anything Taro-flavored!
Karen the best worker give her a raise ❗️
Unexpected, but maybe the best bakery I’ve been to in a while. I loved the unusual flavors and an Asian bakery offers all of that and more. I’m still dreaming of the sweet roll and chocolate bun! Think soft, milky, savory and not too overwhelmingly sweet. All things bread with oh so much to offer that we love when we think bakery!
There's nothing better than starting your day with a delicious cup of coffee and a freshly baked pastry from your favorite coffee shop. The coffee shop is always bustling with energy, and the smell of coffee and pastries fills the air. The coffee is rich and flavorful, and the pastries are flaky and moist. The drinks are also incredibly refreshing, and there's always a new flavor to try. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or spending the afternoon chatting with friends, the coffee shop is the perfect place to relax and enjoy some delicious food and drink.
Update Nov 9 2022: This location has improved substantially since this review was posted. Service is as good as ever and faster and there are more pastries. - old review: This 85°C location seems to be perpetually short staffed. The service is courteous and good nonetheless, but other areas suffer: signage is often wrong, it may get slow at times, and the pastry quality is not as great as other locations. The staff does wonders with the resources they have, but the experience is objectively not the best.
The bread is delicious and there are so many different options to try ranging from very unique to pretty standard for bakeries. Their drinks are also very good. Even in the morning rush, they're polite and quick with drink orders. The staff is friendly and happy to be there. Love this place and if I ever travel to any of the other cities they have a location in, I'll definitely be stopping by.
Cute Cheesecakes! Cream Puffs, and Bread Options. Bobas are great and fresh!
Great customer service and pastries. The supervisor Kat goes above and beyond.
Love this bakery, everyone is friendly and they already know my coffee order. That just shows they're paying attention to detail. Thank you!
It's a proper bakery with breads, cakes and pastries made daily. The coffee doesn't rank tho. But the one-serve slices and tarts are priced better than Starbucks.
Family friend came to visit us in San Francisco and drove us this delicious yummy treats! She brought us a little bit of everything! My favorite was a sweet bread with Ube. Next time I visit her in LA; I’ll make sure to pass by it and check out the store. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I recently tried some pastries from this bakery, and I was genuinely impressed! Everything tasted fresh, not overly sweet, and beautifully balanced. You can really tell they care about quality and attention to detail.my absolute favorite light, flavorful, and just perfect with a cup of coffee. Definitely coming back for more. Highly recommende
All I ever get here is the Mango Slush because it is so good! I make a lot of frozen fruit drinks at home and I'm often disappointed when I buy them from restaurants and stands but not from 85, these are the best I've ever had and I've not been able to duplicate them at home. This is a must stop if you are in the area. It is like drinking the best mango I've ever eaten, naturally sweet and refreshing. They make it quickly and freshly and it is not that expensive.
85°C Wow! I'm glad I stumbled across it. Peach/Mango smoothie was excellent as was the tea. All of the baked goods and desserts looked wonderful. Unfortunately I had just ate, because the cakes looked so good.
If you like sweets this is the place to go. The variety will make you go on circles trying to pick a couple things instead of ten. Prices are very pleasant. $1.80 apple danish $2.00 spinach danish They also have boba! for extra $0.50 2.75 medium Jasmine Green Tea
Chain bakery delivers the goods!! Taiwanese style pastries and Guatemalan coffee, what more can you asked for. Eight five have a plethora different types of snacks and drinks. I myself had to go with a cafe con leche and a slab of cheese cake and a slab of Black Forest. Why not. And a taro drink for the Mrs.. Overall it’s a solid pastry shop and it’s great for breakfast or dessert. Dos cakes up 🍰🍰
Love the variety of Asian American fusion pastries. Very narrow shop with limited counter seating. Staff are friendly but they do not accept American Express or have a bathroom. Would recommend the Marble Taro Bread!
Never been to cafe that is cheap yet so delicious! Theyve got a LOT of great choices ♥️ the cakes too are soooo good 😋
I love 85 degrees. This is a Taiwanese bakery with lots of buns and cakes to choose from. When you go in, just grab a tray and a pair of tongs and start picking out yummy pastries. I've never tried the savory buns, but they look really tasty too. I like this apple bun thingy with custard, and I always get a Sea salt iced black tea with half the normal amount of sugar (to offset the sweet buns!)
Amazing selection of yummy pastries. The lemon cupcakes were so light and fluffy they felt like air. I wished I lived closer so I could eat here regularly!
Oh boy, this stop is a home run in my books. Delicious offerings that sub as nice small meals for breakfast or lunch. Of course, offering all sorts of pastries and sweets. The pricing here is unbelievably cheap for DTLA.
Great customer service. Delicious, fresh bakery, cakes. A variety of ice & hot drinks.

Very clean food. Clean #1. Quality isn't good as other bakery but price is affordable. Service needs more attention.

I have been coming to this 85 degrees for years now. I have noticed the place has changed, the bread and pastries are nice as long with their coffee but generally the place esthetically has gone down in quality. Also, I recommend that folks download the 84 degrees mobile app since they got pretty decent rewards
I came here randomly. Got a Jalapeño & cream cheese croissant and also a red velvet slice of cake. Interestingly enough, it's good, especially the red velvet cake, which wasn't over excessively sweet, and I probably could have eaten two of those. Would like to try drinks on my next visit. I do have a slight recommendation (just an opinion). You guys should order a toaster to heat up some of the pastries. Some people like myself kinda like their croissant warm.
By far one of the best Bakery and Café I have been to. For my first visit I got the Chicken Pesto Panini and all I got to say is... "Damn that was so good!" So cheesy, so filling, and so flavorful. And how could I have left without getting some dessert, so I left with some of the fruit tart. That blew me away also, fresh and tasty. Overall my experience was one of the best. The staff and environment was amazing. I sure will be back for more!!
Great pastries. Better than donuts! Take some to give to your office friends and you will be the popular guy. Their cakes are amazing too. Every birthday on the office people order from them. Especially the strawberry cake. Very fluffy, fresh and not to sweet. Very good.
Everything I have purchased has been pretty good, very fresh and unique items. Both savory and sweet. I love the coconut and blueberry tarts. They announce 'fresh bread' every time it comes out of the kitchen.
Awesome Asian style cakes and sweets — not too sweet, rich, or dense, which makes them one of the few desserts I’ll eat. Red Velvet cake is amazing. Nice calm atmosphere at this location and great counter service.
I’ve been to other locations by the same brand and it’s always been great. I had a few of their sandwiches and a cafe latte with almond milk. Their breakfast food offerings were delicious and excellent. The coffee was very average though and mid. I’d definitely come back here again for their other pasties and baked goods.
This bakery store is well-organized, lots of types of cakes. A typical coffee is deserved to try, not too sweet. Below are two types of coffees that we ordered.
This place is great for a coffee run in the morning or to grab a pastry at lunch. The pastry selection isn’t what you might expect, though. 85 Degrees has interesting Taiwanese and Japanese pastries, like snow bread and honey teriyaki chicken. The Japanese mango bread is my personal favorite, definitely would recommend it. The only downside to this spot is the often long line. It’s worth the wait though if you’re up for something new.

I heard so much about 85°C Bakery Cafe which I think originated in South Cal. Finally got to try it during my visit to LA. I might have caught it on an off-day and also I was there just before closing also. I found the bread is kind of stale. The mango dessert cake and black forest cake was on par with other Asian bakery, but nothing really stands out. It's not bad, just doesn't quite live up to the hype... IMHO.
The guys during the afternoon shift never make the drinks taste or look the same. Past week I have been getting the same drink morning/noon time & it’s only when the 2 guys make my drink when they mess by ignoring using oatmilk(even when I paid for it) - or when asked for 1less syrup pump/shot the request is ignored . Except these 2 the place is nice with good food
If you really want cheesecake, and you ORDER the cheesecake, you will be disappointed. It's the texture if a fluffy pound cake. Very much a cake texture. Would be tasty if it had some cream on top and fruit I guess? It's rather too dry to have by itself
most delicious bread restaurant is in Japan and Korea. I'm korean actually I eat more delicious bread in korea and japan. pretty and beautiful bread is in korea and japan.

I came here today at 5:00, which is 1 hour prior to the posted closing time, yet, it was all closed up and there were metal grates preventing anyone from approaching the doors. I could see a fellow inside but the doors seemed locked and it appeared that he was closing up. I don’t think the hours posted are accurate?
I ordered a cake on the website and the door dash service which 85degrees sent our cake with stole it. They didn't notify us of delivery and just put that they delivered the cake which was untrue. I called 85degree downtown where we ordered the cake from and the supervisor Kathia said that it wasn't their problem since it was through a 3rd party vendor and I had to deal with it with door dash and they would not help. I asked for a supervisor or someone who could help me at least get a refund or something and Kathia said she was the supervisor and that that wasn't her problem it was mine and door dash. They used the door dash service not I. I asked Kathia what's the point of her being there, a supervisor, if she was not going to help. It was useless to have a supervisor that wasn't willing to help. Terrible customer service! Never ordering from this location ever again. Kathia you need to work on your client service etiquette and know what your duties are.
