Barney’s Beanery doesn’t try to impress you. It doesn’t need to. The sign is loud. The inside is dark wood, neon beer glow, motorcycles on the walls, pool tables lined up like old war stories. The booths have history baked into the vinyl. It smells like beer, nostalgia, and something serious simmering in the kitchen. Then the chili hits the table. A heavy crock buried under molten cheddar, steam rising like a warning. Thick. Beefy. Honest. Onions and sour cream on the side. No gimmicks. No reinvention. Just real-deal chili that tastes like it’s been dialed in over decades. Best chili in the greater Los Angeles area? Very possibly. And Britney, who took care of us, absolutely rocks. Sharp, fast, no nonsense, and genuinely cool. The kind of server who makes you feel like you’ve been coming here for years, even if it’s your first time. Barney’s isn’t trendy. It’s timeless. And that’s exactly why it works.
This was my 1st Time at Barneys and the 1st New Year eve, it was worth going, it's a full fledged Sports bar, big screens Everywhere, and really nicely decorated with a 60' art deco style of tiny License Plates and lacquered table tops that have everybody from entertainment/sports/movies...you can think of. The price range of Food and Drinks is awesome $-$$$, I had the Chicken Tostado, yummmm 😋 😋 😋! Go, you'll like it a lot
This place fees like home since they make the experience very personal. Chanhsy is an amazing hostess, they take care of you and their service is great. Ambiance is also beautiful. Highly recommended.
Tuna melt and pastrami Reuben (no corned beef) were big and delicious. Chose the steak fries which were hot and crisp on the outside soft on the inside. Loved the funky decor and atmosphere
Barney's is one of my regular spots for years now, so I am finally writing a review. I eat here regularly - once or twice a week - and my bartenders always remember my drink and food choices. The food is great for a sports bar - fajitas are excellent, salads are on point, chicken is amazing. The atmosphere can vary wildly from locals-only to Insta-influencer mobs, but that's just Barney's. Truly an iconic place in LA that still has a place in its heart for locals. 🫶
There is a reason Barney's has been an institution in WeHo for so long. They get it right- good food, good service, a fun vibe, and an atmosphere that hasn't changed in decades, because it doesn't need to. Old school, no nonsense, this is the spot for solid, unpretentious grub and fun times.
Legendary bar with an incredible atmosphere. It’s always packed, the food is great, the beer selection is huge, and the bartenders are awesome. The crowd is always full of fun, cool people. I absolutely love this place!
Super fun dive bar. Food and beer were both great. However the best part of our dinner was our server Tessa. Even though the place was jammed pack she took great care of us and her attention to detail is unmatched.
Barney's WeHo Pool Club is unlike any other. The busiest nights are Wednesdays and Sundays, with lines out the door from 9:30 PM until 1 AM on most nights. The crowd is fashionably eclectic & accepting to all.

The eclectic decor added to the vibrant ambiance, making every moment feel like a journey through time. But it wasn't just the ambiance that impressed us; the service was exceptional. Both our server and the server in training were incredibly attentive and sweet, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of wonderful. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, enhancing our meal even further. And let's talk about the food – it was simply delicious! The tuna melt was perfectly grilled with a generous amount of flavorful tuna and melted cheese. The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, and the breakfast burrito was a hearty and satisfying choice. Overall, Barney’s Beanery offers not only fantastic food but also a delightful atmosphere and outstanding service. It's a place where you can enjoy a meal with friends or family while basking in the nostalgia of yesteryears. Five stars without a doubt!
Delicious food? ✔️ Friendly and helpful staff? ✔️ Great ambiance? ✔️ Amazing 100 year history? ✔️ Barney's Beanery is a great place you've probably not heard of. Over its history it has served as a hang-out for Hollywood people ranging from Clara Bow and Errol Flynn to Jim Morrison and Janis Joplin to Charles Bukowski and Quentin Tarantino. Rumor has it that Tarantino wrote the majority of the Pulp Fiction screenplay at his favorite booth. The walls are etched with the names of guests, and there is a plaque stating that Jim Morrison hung out there that is signed by the three remaining The Doors members located at the front corner of the bar near the original entrance. There are license plates up on the wall above the bar. They are a holdover from the era of Route 66 travelers (Route 66 originally ended right out front) that would exchange their license plate for a bowl of chili back during The Depression. Once they had money to pay for the chili they could get their license plate back. The menus are printed as tabloid style newspapers. The food is fantastic, and they apparently have quite the football crowd on Sundays. The chili is where it's at though. They have three types on the menu, and they're all fantastic. (I preferred the Fireman's Chili) BTW, the Bloody Mary was deeeeelish! If you're looking for a place to grab a bite and tipple in WeHo, you'd be mistaken not to give them a go!
Love this place. it has it all when your looking for swanky dive bar with pool tables and decent seating. The food is whatever but decent enough, most people come for the drinks and the vibes. The pricing for drinks are very good. There is a karaoke night on Wednesday which is interesting. Def a overall good hang out with friends or even a date. The location is ideal as it’s in a prime Weho location. It’s a locals spot so def pop in when you get a chance. It’s casual so don’t overthink it. have fun
This is the first location of Barney's Beanery and I love to come here! Barney's is a great place in the daytime for families and a fun hangout after hours for friends and coworkers. It has a huge menu but anytime I go in I have to have their wings. I love to get sweet and spicy and the Diablo (super hot). This Barney's has karaoke night, game nights, and trivia nights on different days of the week. It also has a few arcade games and a few pool tables that only cost a couple dollars to play. One of the fun things about Barney's is the decor. There are so many posters, stickers, music and movie related postings on the walls and even ceiling. I've only known this place to go after hours and enjoy drinks and games with friends but I would still recommend this place for families during the day for a fun dinner feel with neat aesthetics. Service is middle ground. I mean that, from what I've seen the servers are more stern and matter of fact. BUT, I know dealing with bar people and anyone drinking is difficult and you do have to take that with a grain of salt. Barney's is a mix of things that I think all sorts of different people can enjoy!
Why have I not come here before?! This place is historic! Dripping with photos of celebrities along the walls, and real scrap-book-like table tops full of 90’s pop stars and icons. Basically, it’s a rockin’ fun vibe inside. Total diner/rock and roll feels. When I arrived, it was around midnight and karaoke hour was happening. You do not have to have golden vocals to go up on stage to sing. Anyone in their right or drunken minds is invited, and it’s all such good entertainment. The service is fast and friendly. Breakfast served all day, which is awesome. I got their veggie omelette with no cheese, it came loaded with fresh vegetables and a side of excellent whole wheat bread. Others at my table ordered a burger, and it looked and smelled amazing. Highly recommend as a place to get your drink on, or to sober up after a night of partying.

Took a while to get greeted by the waiter but the food and drinks were FAST! Very loud environment especially on game nights but wasn’t too much for me. The Nashville chicken sandwich was very dry and bland but the spicy fried pickles were delicious!
1927 opens in W.H ..it's one of if not the oldest running restaurant in L.A . It's Iconic and a great place for breakfast and football on Sunday mornings. It was a regular spot for us in the early 90's . Your there because it's Iconic and for nothing else. Enjoy

The third pool table needs to be removed. It’s in a terrible spot. Too close to people traffic and one the sides is blocked by a long seat. For the shuffle board, they used regular sand instead of silica balls - so the pucks don’t even slide. Air hockey turned off while we were in the middle of a game or you win at 6 points? Seemed fast.
