Opinions de Boichik Bagels Los Angeles
When I first read an article about best bagels shop being in Berkeley I laughed. Not because there are no good bagels on West Coast, but because bagels are in States pretty much equal to NYC. But when NY Times claimed so, I decided to check it out. And since they opened in Palo Alto I decided to try it today. Everything is true. They are best bagels in States. Hands down. Probably most expensive to. I ordered one toasted everything bagel 🥯 with lox spread. And it was $6.50. But honestly it was really worth it. Highly recommend .
Solid bagels 🥯 would recommend this place for the best ones in the Bay Area! They also have locations in Berkley and in SF!
I've been here twice now and I absolutely LOVE these bagels. They have a really nice chew to them without being overly chewy if that makes sense. The lox spread is amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try. The parking lot can get a little crazy but overall not terrible parking at all. Everyone is super nice and friendly. There's no dine in area as this place is rather small but there are a couple of tables outside. The only thing I would say is ALWAYS double check your order. The first time we went, we did a bigger online order and they couldn't find it, once they found the order they attempted to give me not even half the order, when I brought to their attention, they said that was all on the order and then said it didn't come through on the receipt and were able to locate it. The second time, I ordered at the counter and they almost didn't give me the tube fish salad that was ordered because it didn't come through initially. They are always super nice about it but just make sure you have your receipt and double check. I know it's not malicious in any ways but more an annoyance if you were to get home and be missing items. It won't deter me from going back at all, truly love this place.
Was very good. Staff was friendly. Lox / salmon is pretty expensive if you add it ($10 dollars extra). Otherwise reasonably price for a fresh bagel $3.
New York style bagels in the Bay Area! 🗽🥯✨ @boichikbagels is where bagel lovers dreams come true 💭 Bringing New York vibes to the Bay Area, these bagels are the perfect balance of chewy, golden goodness that’ll have you coming back for more. Each bite is like a warm hug from carb heaven. Best bagel I’ve had in California. I was home in the NY area eating a lot of bagels this past week and I can tell you this is a good bagel. Yes it’s a little expensive (the Lox bagel sandwich was around $15, so I just got the lox spread bagel for around $7 instead). Slightly crispy exterior and flavorful Everything Bagel topping. If you’re in the area, I would recommend this over Izzy’s (though Izzy’s is still good if you’re by California Avenue). Will update my review after multiple visits if my opinion changes!
Ordered cinnamon raisin + seasonal strawberry cream cheese + tomato + cucumber + tuna salad. Of course weird combo won’t try next time (sweet and savory just need to separate), but ingredients are fresh, bagel is the level of chewy I enjoy (not too chewy that you can’t even swallow). Very generous portion of tuna salad was given.

We would be giving this a five star if only they had sourdough bagels. They only have take out but you can eat outside under the eaves. Coffee was great!
They have good and fresh bagels. Their menu has got good options to try and the service is good and quick. Expect waiting on weekends for sure. The place is expensive for a bagel place, the lox bagel cost $16 and the taste is not different than ordinary good bagel places.
Good option for bagels in the South Bay Area! Got the classic (a lox bagel with some toppings) for a Sunday morning breakfast. Perfect ratio of bagel and toppings. Ordering online can save some time but the line also goes pretty quick too!
Good luxury bagels. I really like the Eggything bagel (egg bagel with everything seasoning) especially because of the large salt crystals added on top. I got 3 bagels (the poppyseed is DELICIOUS) and a tub of lox cream cheese ($9), total $18. My partner got the eggything toasted with hatch Chile cream cheese (attached)

Excellent way to start your day! They have a wide selection of bagels and spreads to choose from. I got a eggything with the horseradish cheddar scallion spread and it was delicious. Chewy, warm and filling. The spot is more catered towards takeout orders so the seats outside are a bit bare boned. There was a bit of a wait for me since the order before me was super huge. Not sure if this happens often, but might be something to factor in if you're looking for something quick.
I recently visited Boichik Bagels with high hopes, but unfortunately, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. While the customer service was a highlight—Jonathan in particular was incredibly kind and helpful—the food itself didn’t quite meet expectations. The everything bagel I ordered was fairly standard and lacked the distinct flavor or texture I was hoping for. Additionally, it wasn’t as toasty as I prefer, which impacted the overall bite. I paired it with chive cream cheese, which ended up being overly salty, overpowering the bagel rather than complementing it. Despite the lackluster food experience, the friendly and attentive service helped balance things out. Because of that, I’m bumping my 2-star food experience to 3 stars overall, thanks to the excellent customer interaction. I’m hoping for a better impression next time.
This is the best bagel in the country. It’s priced at an extra premium. The downer during our visit was 1 cm to 1 inch of cream cheese on all our bagels. I get it is decadent, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. The customer then needs to do this inevitably messy surgery on the bagel getting cream cheese everywhere.
Came here on a late Monday morning and service was decently quick. I ordered the Mensch on toasts everything bagel. The bagel was not bad but nothing mind-blowing. $10.50 is pricy for whitefish salad, a few slices of cucumbers, tomato, and a bagel, so I’ll probably be making this at home instead.

Bagels are very good, but service is rocky. I ordered a selection of bagels today and specifically asked if they'd be individually labeled. The answer was yes, but in the end 3 of the bagels were unmarked. Also the bagel I intended to eat myself (classic on onion) was not in the bag, though it was on the receipt stapled to the bag and I paid for it ($10.50 lost right here). If it weren't for the service, this would be a 5 stars.
The bagels were good (good, not insane, just good). However the customer service was incredibly rude. I asked what one of the bagels was, and the cashier spoke down to me as if I was stupid because I had never heard of that type of bagel before. I asked a second question and received a similar response. One of the worst customer experiences I have received. I would recommend going elsewhere (Panera or local store likely has bagels as good).

Bagel and cream cheese isn't comparable to popular spots in New York. Also, it's not toasty enough even after asking them to toast them twice (crunch inside wasn't even formed). Instead of selling frozen bagels at supermarkets, please just focus on making your bagel better.
In the morning the bagels might be nice and fresh but at 13:40pm we bought 6 multi grain bagels and they were very chewy, hard to eat and had no crunchy crust. Sorry owner it was not pumpernickel and it was not chewable. Just sell fresh warm bagels! We eat them from other places for the last 40+ years only ;) Sorry, but to pay that amount for old bagels is a joke. Suggestion, maybe buy when they are nice and warm or you should toast them ... They were nice enough to reimburse us. Thanks.
Found hair in both sandwiches I bought. I bought 2 sandwiches and expected to share the halves with my Mum. When I opened up the first sandwich and immediately saw a long hair, I thought ‘well, it happens’. Then I found another small piece of curly hair in the second sandwich I lost all my appetite. This is my first time trying bagel sandwiches, and probably the last time. One star for the rye raisin swirl bagel.

Bagel is great Service very bad Plain bagel smell like garlic and has everything bagels seasoning; they don't clean the cutting knife, my bagel always has cream cheese even i ordered different spread; order a dozen bagel get 1 free, I never get 1 extra. Need to train employees how to count, apparently having difficult time counting over 10
